The hotel is good for everything. But too Chinese traditional It need international style

Excellent hotel with great location

Excellent service and all staffs are super friendly, location is at the center of old town. Highly recommend if you go to Datong.

We loved our stay here. The hotel is very close to the Bell Tower and Drum Tower and close to shops and restaurants yet is in an alley that is calm and quiet. It is also very close to the magnificent Huayan Temple. The hotel owner and staff are very nive and genuinely helpful. There were visitors from many different countrues staying here. Breakfast is excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great experience!

I had a great experience at Datong Pipa Hotel! Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. It is located within Datong Ancient City with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and thing to see and do. Will definitely book again!

Hotel in a great location

The hotel is in a great location, clean and comfortable. The front desk is very helpful & friendly.

The hotel is more than just a Hostel I would rather call it a botique hotel located in the heart of the old and renovated part of Datongnan. Employees are very kind and provide the best of hospitality. Rooms are clean and bathroom in excellent condition. It is located in area where no cars are allowed so very quiet,yet the taxi can drop you at less then 3 min walk. Breakfast is a bit short especially for foreign guest . Only time it does get busy and bit noisy is on the weekend as all the sellers announce their products and services over speakers.

We loved this place! It was a fantastic place for us to stay in Datong. It was super beautiful and lovely. The rooms were clean and warm all the time. The floor heating for winter was a dream. We had breakfast there at their buffet which was lovely to come down in our own time and do. The staff were always awake and happy to say hello. Not much English but that’s absolutely fine with translation apps. There wasn’t easy public transport but that’s because there is no train or subway. It has beautiful surrounding building and walkable food and entertainment areas. Taxi’s and DiDi’s were very accessible and quick to walk to from the hostel. There’s an AMAZING food joint right underneath the hostel that is beautiful, cheap, and unique. Overall, it was a great place to be based at for three nights.

It’s in the heart of the old pedestrian quarter only, transportation at gates East, West, South and North to the city wall within walking distance.

Best Place in Datong

Great, modern rooms with all the amenities, including USB wall chargers. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Mostly families and couples traveling. Quiet.

A Hidden Gem

Fantastic stay. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The city is a hidden gem. So much Cultural history and museums are outstanding.

The property was located in the heart of the downtown area. It was a very nice facility with a very helpful staff, who, if they couldn't speak English, at least had access to translation apps.

Great hotel at a great price with great service. The Pipa hotel is a small hotel in the historical district of Datong. The staff is always trying to help you. The rooms are small but have all the details. Good Chinese breakfast. Highly recommend it.

Lovely, bit quirky, hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast limited to toast, jam and butter for western tastes and local options too - try the local doughnut type hot buns. Local area quiet and some of the local area being rennovated or re built. Convenient to walk to the local sites within the old town or to walk to and around the town wall (7.2 km in length). No evening meals but nice places to eat nearby. Bed very comfortable, shower fab plus toiletries supplied. Will certainly stay here again in the future.

Non professional and unethical

This hotel requires upfront payment. Although I had fully paid for my rooms, they still released the room to other walk in customer. I WAS LEFT STRANDED IN A FOREIGN PLACE! I missed my connecting flight and arrived one day late and it was peak vacation season. Many local tourist were hunting for rooms. I think the hotel just got greedy and released the room to walk in customers. That left me with no place to stay at 6pm. Imagine frantically looking for a room in a foreign country and worse of all, hotels in the vicinity were all fully booked. They claimed that hotel.com arrangement with them gives them the right to simply release the room. It was a nightmare situation and will ruin your trip.

In the old part of Datong which is where you want to be. Very quaint hotel and would recommend staying here.

Very central location in old town pedestrian zone, therefore not that easy to find and access, but nonetheless rather quiet. Friendly and efficient service, space in the room and for breakfast a bit limited, overall good value for money.

Très bien situé au centre de la vieille ville. Impeccable pour tout visiter à pieds. Lits assez durs, mais qui se révèlent finalement très bons. Le petit-déjeuner est en revanche un peu juste. Peu de choix et un « jus d’orange » tellement dilué que l’on ne goûte plus l’orange.

Camera molto bella e spaziosa, bagno comodo e posizione fantastica. Unico problema: camera rumorosa: si sentivano sia i vicini che la reception. Personale gentile ed efficiente.

Incredible hotel

Superb hotel. Very hospital personnel, clean structure and very comfortable rooms equipped with everything. The hotel is located in a convenient position, central and full of ancient buildings. They also provided us a small breakfast to go as we were leaving earlier than the breakfast time. We also forget a coat in the structure and the hotel contacted us immediately to arrange a delivery! Hands down, one of the best hotels I've been for the service and the confort.

Hôtel de charme magnifique

Très jolie chambre, très bonne literie, très propre. Petit déjeuner très correct. Situé au plein centre de la vieille ville, à deux pas des remparts et des restaurants . Personnel serviable. L’hôtel est magnifiquement décoré, raffiné. Hôtel de charme à la chinoise. Je recommande vivement

L'hotel è veramente bello, in pratica un museo con pezzi, sculture e stampe cinesi veramente antiche e bellissime. Personale gentilissimo, colazione ottima, stanza non spaziosa ma confortevole, letti comodi e con un bagno privato molto pulito e comodo. Unica pecca: l'assenza di una insegna su strada che aiuti i turisti a localizzare l'hotel, è tutto in cinese e nonostante si arrivi in prossimità non si riesce a capire da dove entrare.

Hotel ubicado en el centro de la zona amurallada de Datong. La ubicación es excelente para pasear por este área llena de tiendas, templos y bellísima por la noche. La dueña está dispuesta a ayudarte a la hora de organizar una excursión o pedir un conductor. Ella se encargó de darnos un buen precio para tener un conductor durante todo el día para visitar Hanging Temple y Yongang Grootes. El desayuno era un poco escaso en la opción occidental y la zona para desayunar un poco estrecha. Cuando fuimos todas las mesas estaban llenas y hubo que esperar un poco.

Struttura pulita, ordinata e personale molto gentile e disponibile! Buona la colazione a buffet e ottima la posizione proprio nel centro di Datong in una via caratteristica e molto viva!

Hotel di per se carino, ben curato e stanza piccola ma ok , ha un arredamento che ricorda lo stile rustico di montagna. Posizione ottima dentro le mura della bella Datong, colazione povera e wifi assente. Stanze poco insonorizzate, fortunatamente gli ospiti erano silenziosi. Struttura nella media per il prezzo speso

Un hotel excepcional en la ciudad antigua de Datong. Muy limpio y un personal maravilloso y profesional. Por un problema con el tren solo pudimos alojarnos una noche de las dos reservadas, pero solo nos cobraron una. Como marchabamos muy pronto nos prepararo un picnik para desayunar. Cerca del hotel hay restaurantes para cener.

Inmitten der Altstadt gelegen. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Altstadt sowie Restaurants und Geschäfte fußläufig erreichbar. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel selbst hat ein sehr hübsches Interieur. Unser Zimmer war sehr gut ausgestattet. Diverse Kosmetik, Badeschuhe, 2 Flaschen Wasser, Wasserkocher... Allerdings empfanden wir die Betten als zu hart.

Personale gentile e disponibile,.posizione centralissima e struttura molto bella. Lati negativi: camera piccolissima, colazione continentale praticamente nulla e la cosa che mi ha dato fastidio è che hanno pulito la stanza ma non hanno rifatto il letto.

Hôtel en hyper centre de la vieille ville, temples, bâtiments historiques à foison, restaurants, génial. Chambre très correcte. Personnel charmant et certains parlant anglais. Parfait.

hotel bien placé proche de lieux d'intérêt. C'est une très ancienne batisse qui a gardé tout son charme. Très propre,la sdb sent bon et toilettes japonaises (abattant chauffé). Petit déj très correct. Personnel sympa. Pas évident à trouver quand on est sur la place, l'entrée de l'hotel est proche du mur de la mosquée.

El alojamiento muy bien es precioso y el baño es espectacular al igual que la habitación en general. La única pega es que la habitación y las toallas olían a tabaco.
