Great place!!!

After renovation, the hotel looks amazing great! Everything is new and shining, parking place is nice and camera LPR seems to work properly :), breakfast was unlively good - (too) many options, everything fresh and tasty

Amazing hotel!!! Totally new, quality materials, perfect from all points of view!!

Staff was very friendly, room was nicely renovated, bed was clean and comfortable, varieties of food at breakfast, the restaurant was beautiful.

It was amazing

It’s quiet with a good spa, food good. I didn’t like being told every morning breakfast is not included so it’s ok to charge you, every day, once is enough. Staff were really good otherwise, nothing was too much trouble.

Exactly what you’d expect. Good quality service and amenities.

The quality and hospitality of this Hotel are excellents. I’ve been a few times and I will for sure make this my 1st choice for the next time in Sofia.

Very professional set up

Stayed here three times and the service is excellent. Very good breakfast. Sits close to the Vitoshi mountain side and ring mall, which we like. Subway or Taxi into centre.

Excellent breakfast, big and clean bathroom and bedroom, excellent and very helpfull Staff. Mr. Adrian welcomed us and he was very helpfull and gave us all the information which we need about Sofia. It takes 10 minutes drive from the hotel to the city center. Free parking at The hotel.

The Holiday Inn in Sofia is a very high level hotel with excellent service, great breakfast and amazing value. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you need a stop over on your journey.

Hotel excellent. My daughter enjoyed the gym and swimming facilities. Food very good. Room service very prompt. Located in the business park only 10 minutes from metro giving a direct line to Sofia.

ALL GOOD EXCEPT FOR AMENITIES OPEN TO PUBLIC

MY ONLY REAL COMPLAINT IS THAT THE POOL IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. THIS MEANS THAT IN THE EVENING YOU GET MIDDLE AGED BULLIES (ALL MEN) WHO THINK THEY OWN THE PLACE AND ARE LITERAL BULLIES AGAINST THE HOTEL GUESTS. MOST HOTEL GUESTS ARE KIND AND RETREAT, BUT I HAD TO STAND FOR MY RIGHTS AND FRANKLY I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS. IT'S A REAL SHAME. Also, there are NO real channels in English apart from the boring BBC World and Al Jazeera. No CNN, for example, which should be a must. Finally, there are cell towers right in front of some hotel rooms. This gave me a headache and I had to request a room change, which they kindly did. Customer service was excellent but they need to fix the above.

Location far from old town. But metro statiom 10mmts walk. There is free shuttle to link mall from metro station (many restaurant and supermarket). Overall ok.

Used to be 5 stars

The pool area is very nice, so is the staff and the restaurant. But 5 stars... doubtful. A very good hotel and highly recommendable. Though a bit far from everything else. The only negative thing was the shower, which could use a brushup and a new shower head. All in all a very nice place to stay. But don't expect the 5 star experience.

WARNING: Beware the very exorbitant charges for using the phone for local calls. Very sneaky fine print disclosure not even posted on or next to the phone.

The main reason i booked the hotel was because of the swimming pool and spa. Arriving there we surprisingly found out that they were under rennovation. We were not informed in advance about that.

Great Stay!

If you want to be out of town and close to major road connections for getting around it's brilliant. There's quite a lot in the locality for eating out etc - just ask the staff! Really enjoyed and if I were visited Sofia again for social reasons, I'd definitely use the hotel again.

Overall best choice for staying in Sofia.

We had a one bedroom suite which was really spacious, large bathroom with great shower, full size bath etc. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel is in a quiet area away from the central city which we quite liked, there is a couple of convenience stores as well as a few cafes & restaurants within few minutes walk. Metro also very close and less than 2 lev to town. Taxis are cheap also so getting around from here was not a problem. Breakfast in the hotel was good with lots of variety and service was also very good. Bottled water not provided daily would be my only negative. We didn't use the pool or gym, but be aware it is also used by the public for swimming lessons etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay of 9 nights.

Nice hotel

You need a car; hotel is far from the city

It was a great hotel in a nice location. The price was just right also. The only downside was the Wi-fi was not reliable. The speed varied significantly so file download times varied from minutes to hours. I was trying to download files from the office and it was frustrating.

Modern, well equipped and good links to airport

Great place to stay. Modern hotel, very helpful staff always going beyond customer expectations. Rooms are clean and the service is faultless. Spa and gym is an added bonus and again well maintained. Very good service from the whole staff especially Alexander on nights! Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend to friends and family!

Sofia city center is very nice. The Hotel location requires travel to eat or drink, unless of course you stay in the hotel itself.

far away from attractions of Sofia

The first night we have received the food but not explained what does buffet include. order the soup and bread. finished the soup but bread never arrived. Aircondition wasnt working properly. slow reception service.

Excellent option in safe business park.

I was lost up a mountain and Holiday Inn endeavoured to find me, so I really couldn't complain about anything. Good facilities overall.

Convenient and clean

Really nice hotel. Nothing much nearby apart from the business park and metro station although there are some shops and cafes in the business park. The food is good but the hotel restaurant is very expensive in comparison with local rates and other business hotels in Eastern Europe.

Good view of mountains

Comfortable hotel and attentive staff. View of mountains is spectacular, shame we were on business so could not visit. On outskirts of Sofia but travel ok. Lots of traffic of a morning, give yourself time to reach City

Short October stay

2 night stay in Oct. Been several times before and overall hotel quality got even better. Reception staff friendly and efficient, room service food is excellent and wide choice of quality food at breakfast. Rooms are spotless, modern and very comfortable, and well equipped. On edge of business park so handy for work and about 20 mins in a taxi or hotel shuttle to airport. Would definitely recommend

2 night business trip Dec 15

2 night stay in Dec so a few office parties being held and a conference from service was still excellent and no noise disturbance. Shuttle service is reliable, efficient and good value. You really need a taxi to get into centre of Sofia and I didn;t have a evening meal at the hotel but breakfast is great with a wide choice of hot and cold buffet options, attentive staff and not too busy. Has a pool etc which I didn;t use but our local office have their conferences there as well and say all of the facilities are top notch

Five pleasant days in Sofia

Never back again

I booked a superior room, view over mountain but I got a room view over many buildings. When complained, I was told "sorry but that's all we have, not our fault hotels. com is promoting something not available " Speechless..

Good hotel, not great location for accessing city

Overall quite please with my stay. The only minus would be distance and ease of travelling into the city. Other than that, it is convenient for accessing the business park, which is where my trip was for.

Ideal location for business park

The hotel itself was of a good quality throughout, the only issue being the swimming pool was closed for the majority of my stay. The hotel is ideally suited for activities on the business park, but requires an approximately 20mins taxi to get into the actual town. The restaurant was of a good quality, with a fair selection.

Very good hotel in Business Park

We were very happy with our stay at the hotel. The rooms were spacious, internet connectivity was very good and, on a slightly different note, the shower was a dream. The one thing to be aware about is that the hotel is very conveniently located for meeting clients in the Sofia Business Park (as it is effectively within this business park), but the centre of town is a (bumpy) 15-20 minute taxi ride away (which still won't cost you much more than BGN15, so very affordable).

Great Business Trip Hotel

The hotel was very nice, the room was well decorated, and the amenities were good. The spa was very nice. The only area for improvement would be the TV. The screen was very small and the picture for some of the channels did not come in well. It was a 1 star TV in a 5 star hotel.

An option if you need to be close to business park

heating in the room was not operational. At the reception I have announced that, after they said it should work it was really slow to heat the room; When checking out they requested to pay for things from minibar which I did not have; they were prompt to change the bill after I requested that.

Excellent for the business park.

Particularly, the staff in this hotel were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool is 25m, the gym was modern and well equipped and with an added steam room was a welcome place to get rid of the days angst. The hotel is in the new business park with plenty of cafe's and the odd shop dotted around for convenience. This is the fourth time I have been to Sofia, this hotel was the best. It may not be central, but it was the best hotel.

Excellent choice, somewhat far from Downtown

I have stayed 5 or 6 times here during the past couple of years, and every time my visit has been perfect. The hotel is brand-new, the rooms are big and comfortable, there is a pool and a sauna, and the staff is extremely polite and knowledgeable. The only drawback is that is in Sofia's business park, about 7 miles away from the main sites Downtown, but the taxi rides are very cheap, so getting back and forth has never been a problem. I highly recommend this place.

It's ok...

Everything was fine. I didn't like I have to give 50 euro as a deposit. It's very unpleasant - when you check out - you must wait untill from reception send somebody to check have you eaten or drunk something from the minibar...The prices are too high...

Good hotel for city like Sofia

In general the hotel is nice, clean, equiped, but I can not understand why the condoms are listed in the menu bar list? :-) Is there a national program of AIDS prevention in Bulgaria? Any way, I will continue to use this hotel and the advantages offered via Expidia.com Regards, Igor P.S. The staff is very good but sometimes too much polite towards guests is not good. This is just a recommendation not remark!

Awesome hotel... just a little out of the way

It's a good thing taxis are really cheap in Sofia because the "business park" is about 10km from the city center. Otherwise, this hotel is AWESOME. The room service was great and fast, the front desk staff was amazing and the hotel was super clean.

Excellent!

I needed to stay in Sofia overnight, before my flight to Varna. I am so glad I picked the Holiday Inn. It is by far the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at! Beautiful, clean, stylish, modern and comfortable. The room was large, the bathroom was huge, the shower was great. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The shuttle service from/to the airport was a great help (6 Euro each way). The breakfast was very good (not included in the price of the room). I wish I had had more time to spend at this wonderful hotel.

Hög potential, men inte klara

God potential, men de är inte redo. Business lounge har bra lokaler, men ännu inte i full drift, kanske för låg beläggning. Frukost saknade svart te och svart kaffe. Vissa arbeten med att färdigställa lokalerna är inte klara, men det kommer att bli riktigt fint när det är klart.

Overall good, but should focus on details

Over all the stay was good. But the details wasn't at five star level. We had roomservice and there was no cutlery. In the spa we did receive ropes after asking (even though we stayed in a suite). We asked the front desk to call a taxi, but he replied after a phone call that the taxi company didn't answer but recommended us to take the subway because it't cheaper. How ever very friendly staff in the restaurant, especially at breakfast service. And very good spa therapists.
