Dusty Room

We booked 2 family rooms and the room was full of dust seems not cleaned for quite a while. We requested to room cleaning only to be cleaned the night before we checked out. by the way we stayed there for 3 nights. We slept in the room for 2 nights without our room cleaned despite requests and hanging the clean up room tag on our outside door. I would not recommend this hotel

Building old and dirty. Needs upgrade and even the bed sheets need to change a newer. Hallway is dusty and also the wall and windows needs clean. No hot water when I took a shower. Staffs didn’t ask if I’m vegetarian or what type of food I m allowed to eat. How to cook your food at whatever. They didn’t ask

People were friendly but because I booked my room with orbitz it was pretty much impossible to make any upgrades to my reservation once I arrived which I won’t be making that the mistake of booking with orbitz again.

The location is good near some shopping malls, staff are all friendly, rooms are ok but no hot and cold shower, it has an outdoor pool, but seems nobody wants to swim as the water may not be changed regularly

This place is grossly misrepresented by several travel sites including Expedia. Even the bell guy there told me people say that all the time. The pool was so dirty you couldn’t even see the bottom. The rooms were dirty (I moved immediately after seeing the first room) second room was just as bad. WiFi didn’t work at all. Grounds looks terrible. My wife and I left after about 20 minutes of waiting for reception to tell me they wouldn’t refund me. Also Expedia refused to refund me. I’ll never use this service again and definitely won’t return to that terrible hotel.

It was not what we were expecting

I consider very well this review, i was a bit dissapointed because this hotel in Crown Regent in Davao present in their ads as similar to the Crown Regent in Cebu, when they are complete different Hotels in services it offers, rooms, even food. We paid for breakfast included in both places, in Cebu there is a buffet with international menu, lots of western food, NOT so in Davao one Phillipino plate one. Also in my room in Davao, was only running cold water, no hot water. Second floor had no other access than stairs and with suitcases make that slower move. In Davao, service was ok, but even coffee left in room was bad quality Sorry but improvement for Westerners is need.

2 star hotel

Small, dark rooms, super spongy mattress low to the ground, water has a brown tint. Bathroom was better suited for a prison. No curtain or wall between shower and toilet. Toilet would get soaked when showering. Water pressure for shower was awful. It would vary from no pressure to some. There was very little pressure at all when using hot water. Breakfast was basically dinner with rice and 3 choices of meat. Pineapple and watermelon only fruits. Cafe is very over rated. We arrived at 3pm and showered up. We asked for extra towels for the morning and they wanted to charge us 50 pesos. Also wanted to charge 50 pesos for an extra pillow. Asked to have late checkout at 2 instead of 12 and they wanted an extra 1000 pesos. Pool water was hazy - too many chemicals, you gain was not working in pool. Can heat people yelling outside well after 11pm. I just arrived at another hotel for the same price and it seems like luxury compared to this place.

The Worst Hotel I have Ever Stayed In.

I have not seen a hotel in such a terrible condition. The bath/toilet area Stinks (Very Bad) The washing sink has a very dirty tap, you can NOT was your teeth. 90% of anything that opens (doors) doesn't have a knob to open it with. The bed mettress is stained so bed it smells terrible. The shower head is also so black and mouldy you cant have a shower. When you entrer the hotel, there are 2 very old cannons facing the customers. The front door of the reception is damaged and is always used as a damaged door. The swiming pool is always dirty. I can NOT find anything good to say about the hotel. I will NOT recomend it to anyone.

Just not impressed

Single rooms were tiny, and villas were HUGE (always book online as the front desk rates are double)., The furniture wasn't comfortable. The upstairs didn't have a TV remote and the living area TV remote was covered with tape and the buttons didnt work. This was frustrating enough to have to stand next to the TV to change the channels. The Wifi had multiple access points, each with different passwords. However, the signal strength was so poor that every minute my iPhone disconnected. (Not sure why auto-connect didn't work, but that-s not part of the rating) Moving to the kitchen area... It looked OK from afar, but when you look closely, there were a lot of deficiencies. The Microwave worked, however the ground wire was hanging open so anyone could easily get a quick zap. The wall outlet below the microwave only had a plastic cover semi attached. Wires were open inside. Aside from being a safety hazard, it was ascetically displeasing. The stove was another issue. It was gas, and the igniter may have worked, but I am not sure if we had to bring our own lighter to get it started or that was just the type of stove they had in the room. For some positive notes, the room service was quick (except for asking for a new TV remote which never happened) but the food was on time and never cold. However the meals were not to par. Dressing was used instead of mayonnaise for burgers giving an awful taste. The Pool was great and always full of kids screaming and yelling, having a blast.

Nice place for a family stay

I like the family villa because it has a kitchen, but you have to fight to get decent cooking accommodations, like a rice cooker, or a pot for boiling pasta.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The 50' s diner restaurant was good food/price quality. The pool had a hot tub but the water was freezing cold so that was dissapointing. The room was very spatious but the bathroom is long overdue for a upgrade!! No warm water in the shower or sink, even after a complain to the front desk the problem was not solved or looked after.

No hot water for three days . Dirty , muddy water coming through the pipes to the shower, vanity and toilet. Had rain water dripping through the ceiling and that flooded the floor . No managers came to apologise, only the staff at the front desk said sorry . Three days taking cold showers . The place should be bulldozed and rebuilt .

There was a mix up with hotels.com and them and i couldn't open up my data and they weren't very helpful almost treated me as a criminal. Afterwards the place was so so and the lighting in the washroom died on me, couldn't shave in the morning.

Great family resort

I always stay here when I am in Davao because of the kitchen. Cooking gives me better nutrition and more comforts of home while on the road. This property has a gym and a pool- very nice amenities. The property is aging but almost everything works. :) I had some complaints about the housekeeping on this visit. I it took 8 hours and 3 requests to get the cooking gas set up in the room, and some cooking utensils. That pans I received were dirty I and had to scrub them. Housekeeping needs to be trained that a clean pan looks shiny and new inside and out- without scorched black food at the bottom of the pan. The staff are friendly. The sheets are too small for the bed so they don't tuck under very well. As a result, by morning you end up sleeping on the matress because the sheets come lose.

The staff were great and the breakfast buffet was a plus. There is a decent outside pool, but the room had an oder and there was only cold water. The lack of hot water is inexcusable for a hotel in Davao.

Older grand dame

These older buildings will never be what they were in Marcos era, but retain certain ambiance of pleasant Philippine culture with beautiful old furnishings. Where else can you have nice old wood table in room? Beautiful items of past adorn hallways n lobby. But don't expect convenient outlets for charging, or room safety box, or fridge, or good lighting, or updated bathroom ( although lots hot water all day!). I couldn't lay out my clothes bcuz dirt on shelf and inside wardrobe was filthy with dirt. The tile floor was mopped but rest of room never cleaned in years. Only 4 lounges by pool with only 2 umbrellas, no chairs or benches, so if you want swim, expect to just lay your things on ground. Almost no space to relax anyway, so they must figure you only swim and immediately go back to your room.

Good if on a budget

Really plain, but I expected that. We invited my wife's family and booked two family suites. Really plain rooms, lots of things didn't work like ceiling fan, both toilet seats where broke. Looks like they have been broken for a while. On the plus side, as usual the staff was outstanding, very helpful and worked hard to make sure everything they could do to help us. If you are on a budget, this place is not bad, don't expect much as far as accommodations

All the comforts of home

I have stayed here many times in the family units because of the kitchen. There is usually some small maintenance items like the kitchen Fawcett is wobbly, no turn table in the microwave, and so on. But the room is comfy and clean, and the pool is great.

Stay away from this place!

These guys will take your money with no refunds. Stay away from this place, esp if you have a schedule that may change. Once you pay, you are NOT getting your money back. The staff is nice - but hotel policy is greedy.

It is nice hotel and very clean

I would say that our experienced here is great. During our stay here some of the staff are very accommodating but I would say also that some of the staff here are not good, they well let you feel if you just a kind of guest that belongs only in a middle class, there's a discrimination especially those employee assigned in fiftee's restaurant if I'm not mistaken.

What their website states the motel is. It is not.

The staff is very nice. Rooms are old, not enough lighting. Bathroom is not nice at all. No clean drinking water in the room. Tv, is very old. Hard to use. The main thing was the room was dark. You would have to sit the corner to read a book. I booked for 13 days. Leaving today, #6. Yesterday they finally fixed the lights. But by now I have had a bad experience. Moving to nicer place.

Never again.

We were shocked to see that the hotel is situated in a compound where 2 or 3 motels are. My husband was furious bec we were traveling with our 3 yo daughter. We arrived at 11:30pm and we already spent alot to stay in this hotel so we didn't have a choice but to stay. Our 1st room is a Standard room - small, insects flying around, dusty cabinets, it looks old, CR - OMG! Lots of black stain on the floor. 2nd room is an Executive suite - 2 folors, way better than the standard room but the water (bathroom sink, shower, & toilet) is color brown everytime we open it, so we let it run for at least 30mins so we can brush teeth or take a bath. Hotel lobby staff are not that friendly. The bell boy on duty on our first day (11/18/15) introduce us to a taxi driver who charged us way too much just to go to the Philippine Eagle, we paid P1,800 - we thought that was okay but the next day we learned from another taxi driver (the same taxi company) that they only charge P1,500. The only nice place in the (hotel) compound is the resto - Fabulous 50's Cafe - it looks like a diner with lots of vintage items. The food is okay too, we just hope they add more choices in their buffet.

Home from home

Room and most the staff was great, had negative view with housekeeping. Was forced into to using same towel 3 days in the role with my fiancee. One towel for both of us. I had went to requested,for new towels. Yet it was not resovled. Other then the towel issue , my stay was very nice. The room is out dated a bit. But if you looking for a cheap room , it worth looking at.

Brown Water/broken AC/broken furniture

water for the entire 2 days was brown in the sink and shower and toilet. and there is no shower curtain so the toilet gets wet showering. The cabinet to put clothes was broken and barely held together and the bed was horrible sagging and many many years old. Window air conditioners are very old and freeze up making it a hot box

for the price i paid, i guess i should not complain. i just did not expect this hotel in this condition considering i give crown regency in cebu a more than the average rating. what really bothered me was the toilet. the bath was not properly set up such that every time i took a bath, i had to wipe dry the wet floor. the water would reach the door of the bathroom and i was afraid my son or i might just slip. there was no shower curtain and a gutter to prevent water getting into the area where toilet bowl was. the whole room had a very disturbing pungent smell. the towels and bathroom mat looked like they were not properly washed. the place is ok but it needs a lot of improvement. one thing good about it was the staff were very courteous and helpful.

Fair experience. Staff reluctant to greet and smile. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Cleaning service staff condescending with bad attitude. few staff passed me without greeting and smiles, almost intimidating atmosphere whilst aknowledging other patrons, it was dissappointing to see they treat others as less important and not worth greeting

Different from what i saw in online when i do the

house keeping very bad everyday there is always missing like water or toilet roll its annoying me i have to ask all the time simple task they can't follow no matter who im talking there And when you buy something they always forget to give your changes unless you ask terrible.very dissapointed in our room what we book online not the same.

Not like it used to be.

Hotel is budget friendly. I've stayed in the past and it was better. Seems the money goes into the Cebu and boracay resorts as they do not invest in the maintenance of this property much and it shows. Sad really as the hotel is charming. Great staff, but I'll probably go somewhere else next time. Biggest letdown was brown water! That is just unacceptable. Coming from the US, I realize things are different, but seriously, it wasn't a problem before. Stayed 2 weeks. Problem subsided very little in the stay. Better than the Motel 6 we have here, but that's about it this time around.

Micro room at normal price

This is a very convenient location - right next to MOA ( Mall of Asia) with all of its entertainment, shopping, and dining. You would think there would be a great view of Manila Harbor, but in my case it was a view of a sunken ferry boat in the channel in back of the employee parking lot. Unlimited hot and cold bottled water is provided, if you go into the hallway to get it. A karaf is provided for the transportation of it. A mini fridge in the room is also a nice convenience. The room is mall in comparison to the price compared to other hotels in the area, but they are not a new as this one. You get a shower only - no tub - in the standard queen bed room. Good TV selection. The bellman took my luggage from the taxi and placed it on a cart. Then after I got my room assignment I went over and stood next to the cart. Two employees walked past me but no one offered to take the luggage to my room. (Usually at other hotels the bellman is sharped eye enough to see when you have your room and comes right over to take your key and get the luggage to your room). Finally I got tired of waiting, removed my luggage from the cart and took it to my room.

Disappointing.

This hotel is an anomaly. On the plus side the price is good and the staff works hard to make it work. The problem is the location is terrible and the facility is old. It does not deserve a 3-1/2 star rating and it is not up to what I thought was a Crown Regency standard. The hotel does not have street frontage and you have to drive through a seedy day-us "hotel" to get there. Forget walking anywhere because there is nowhere around worth walking to. Even the cell phone coverage was marginal here, especially inside the hotel. The pool looked a little inviting until I saw someone put a completely naked toddler in it. We checked out early even though we could not get a refund.

Not what I expected

Front desk staff is not accommodating. We booked and paid for 3 rooms but upon arriving, only 2 rooms are available. They advise us to wait until there is available room, good thing for us, we have plan to take a dinner at Jack's Ridge so some of my friends dont have to wait at the lobby for hours.

Information in online not correct

I book this hotel because it had Smoking room option, however once check in i was inform that its no smoking Hotel in fact the City is mostly no smoking. I very disappointed because while booking this Hotel i was given option of Smoking Room. if i knew i would have taken Hotel in other City.

Over-all Not so Ok

The hotel was a combination of a hotel and a motel rolled into one. Fronting the hotel is a big signage of a motel. The back of the hotel was also a motel to the extent that the cab driver once directly brought us to the taxi room that made me my companion to freak out as we were not there for a quickie or short time. As a result the driver asked us if why did we stay there. Everytime we get out of the hotel, people around will all have their eyes on us because of the location. The hotel rooms were not maintained and were in a deteriorating condition. My basis of choosing the Crown Regency in Davao was because of my very good experience in Crown Regency in Cebu and in Makati. The lavatory was broken and there was a leak that everytime we use it, the toilet is flooded. The aircon was noisy as it was near to dilapidation. The tiles in the bathroom was yellowish.

Nice Hotel. Nice pool and great Breakfast

It was nice to wake up and go down stairs to a great Breakfast every morning. The staff was always friendly and always willing to help you. What ever you needed the front desk was there to make sure you got what you wanted. Plus always ready to hail you a cab. The hotel was clean and peaceful and I enjoyed my stay.

Average

Water pressure very intermittant. Shower seemed like an afterthought. WiFi intermittant. TV service intermittant. Room was large and spacious. Staff are excellent, and lots of trainees from local colleges are in use. Sounded like rats were in the ceiling.

Not a good place to stay

The hotel promises a nice room. But once you get in there, they will put you into a cheap, dirty and old standard room. No fridge and no microwave and can't even request a hair dryer.

Value getaway

The staff as usual in Phillippines very courteously. Pool was great. But there was no running hot water anytime. The restaurant and bar is open 24 hours serves good value food but will not recommend all inclusive break fast. I recommend this place for a value getaway.

That was not a bad trip.

There are kind staffs at the front desk. They always tried to help the guest as much as possible. I could feel it and that was impressive to me.

Hotel experience

Staff was friendly, but if you want anything else like food from the hotel or laundry service you are better off going somewhere else. Way too expensive, almost the same price as 4 star hotel prices.

Nice place, not expensive

I stayed at this hotel a few nights. It's very old but beautiful and well-kept. The staff is quite attentive. I tend to stay out for most of the day so I don't much care about the room. The beds were not great but comfortable enough for me. It's a little out of the way so if you want to go to the beach or Samal Island, you'll need to allow for a long-ish taxi ride. But it's a nice home away from home.

Not ready for prime time

I am reluctant to write this review, because the staff was nice and friendly. However, there were some issues: the sheets & blankets were much too small for the bed (which was already small for a tall foreigner like me). So, as soon as we laid down the bottom sheet slipped across the mattress and we ended up with a bare mattress beneath us. The top sheets & blankets were no better, and after wrestling to keep the covers on top of us, we finally agreed to sleep right up against each other so we could keep the blankets over us. The toilet kept malfunctioning: the chain would slip off the flapper and I needed to lift the tank lid and dip my hand down into germ-infested water up to my elbow in order to flush the toilet. When I called Maintenance, all he did was to put the chain back onto the lever. But that did not fix the problem, because the next time we flushed the toilet the same thing would happen. After going through this ordeal for four times, I finally told the maintenance man which tools to bring, and I instructed him in the proper way to fix the problem so the chain would not slip off. But it was a major nuisance and a very unpleasant experience to keep dipping my hand down into a germ-infested toilet tank. When we turned on the lavatory faucet, all we could get was a tiny trickle of water. So, it took a long time to wash or shave and we gave up trying to fill the sink with water because it would take too much time.

Excellent hotel for Family Get together

What i love about crown regency is their location. Its very near to abreeza and a number of malls. Of course the experience was really great! Ill be visiting you again next year crown regency davao! Its always a pleasure for me to choose you as my second home in davao!
