I enjoyed my stay at the hotel for two days. First, the staff was very professional, friendly, and always helpful. Each person I dealt with was fantastic. The hotel is nice and appears to have some updating, but could use some more for aesthetics which should include having lamps and clocks that have USB outlets which are very handy and now quite common. Last, charging for parking needs to just be added to the room price from the start. Add on prices reminds me of low cost airlines that nickel and dime customers. Maybe consider the same for a continental breakfast. Just make it part of the purchase and charge acccordingly. Regardless, the hotel is nice and I will use it again.

I was in room 123 and the 110v wall outlets were very loose where my charge block would fall out and there was only 1 USB on the alarm clock that didn't work so I couldn't charge my phone.

The room was nice. There is a covered whirlpool hot tub next to the pool area. Parking and breakfast were included in our Expedia rate. We got to order one item each from the breakfast menu and both items were very good.

The hotel was conveniently located to the UTC shopping center (less than 10 mins away), which is why I stayed at this property. Unfortunately, the mini fridge was broken, as was the closet door and even the desk pen. One of the hand towels in the bathroom was dirty with hair and some other substance. Shower pressure was great and it was quiet at night.

I visited this place 2nd time in 3 months and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly.

Fair hotel marred by one rude staff member

Adequate business hotel located near offices in Sorrento Valley. Room was comfy and clean although dated, and the overall hotel could do with a refurbishment and replacing the musty common area carpets. Breakfast was surprisingly good and the service was generally excellent although marred by the rude and dismissive attitude of the desk manager when I checked in, who refused to even consider switching a King room for two Twins and said, verbatim, “This is what you get for booking through Expedia” without even bothering to check availability. I wouldn't have minded at all if the answer was expressed politely. But the rudeness was beyond the pale and well below the standard I expect from a Marriott, even a basic one like this.

Found a bug in the bathroom! Rate is too high for the place and it needs updates, especially the bathroom, carpet, and painting.

Great staff. Room was plenty for the two of us. Noisey next to ice machine at times. Breakfast and parking included with cost....a big plus. Breakfast was great. Made to order. Was not expecting how good it was and the variety to choose from. Close to freeway. Great cost and value.

Upon entering the room, everything looked great. When I got into bed, I discovered that the bed mattress was old and depressed on one side. That means the mattress is old and never has been rotated and flipped by the house cleaning staff. I requested another room and I was told that there weren't any available. I was told that they could take off one night's parking charge of $15. I later told them for the two nights. Also the toilet tank flapper must have been old to as the water from the fill valve would start to flow for about 5 seconds and was a little annoying. Finally the second night I opened the sliding door on the balcony to see what's outside. I then closed the door and lock it but it wouldn't. I noticed that the latch and the latch anchor on the frame was not aligned. The catch plate was screwed in tightly but not in the right position. That means it was not locked on the first day I was there. The staff downstairs were great but the management and maintenance were poor for allowing these problems to exist. In the hotel website it describes "Newly Therefore I can't recommend this location to anyone.

It was a great location to visit my kid at UCSD. Don’t like that the hotel charges $15 per day for parking. But overall good spot, fridge in each room- microwave and ice machine down the hall. Central location by lots of shops too.

The staff was friendly except when we got breakfast on Saturday. The girl that was taking the orders seemed to have an attitude. No smile or anything. After we got our breakfast my husband decided to take the plates back to them so she won’t have get the plates themselves. He was being kind. At least he made her laugh at the end. First impression is mean and attitude.

The hotel is older and could use an update. Our room smelled like stale smoke. The beds and pillows were hard. It was fine for one night but anything more would not be worth it.

Isolation between rooms are very weak . When you want to sleep if someone speaks next door it is bothering you and doesn’t let you to sleep ! Also Air conditioning noise is very loud !

I chose this hotel is because it is close to UCSD as we were here for my daughter graduation ceremony. We stayed here for 5 nights. The check-in and check-out was very quick. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel condition is about the everage. The only downside of it was room service forgot to clean our room the last day. I contacted the front desk and just received an apologize. Hotel can do better than just an apologize!

Pros and cons

It was a great experience, friendly staff, very nice place with fire pit and pool. The restaurant and bar closed to soon, would have liked for it to be opened a little later since there’s not much to do or eat in the area. I was shocked that they charged the guests per day for parking but neither I missed all of that info or I just need to do better research for my next trip

San Diego Stay Spring 2024

Another hotel with added parking fees that couldn’t be removed. The surrounding area is not that busy but still requires parking. The check in process was easy when on time. The accommodations were low with only clean towels and pump shower amenities. Be sure to keep the under side of the door blocked as there will be light creeping under through the whole night. Value hotel.

We stayed here six months ago and everything was the same, apart from an apparently new $15 per night parking charge. I don't mind paying the charge and I understand inflation is hitting all businesses, but it was a surprise at check-in. Also, I didn't see any other guest's vehicles displaying the paper, so it felt like we were the only ones doing it. Otherwise, great experience.

The entry/exit side door is loud. It kept walking me up. Other than that, all was well. Thank you!

Staff was nice and lobby was remodeled, but the rooms were outdated and had bugs everywhere. Ants by the bed and roaches in the bathroom. Almost all towels were dirty and falling apart.

Went for surgery consult. Stayed here because it was close to the office. Checked out before my appointment. But at my appointment Dr decided immediate surgery was the best option and scheduled it for two days out. Living 3+ hours away it seemed silly and taxing to drive home for one night so we went back to the hotel. The clerk helped us get the best rate possible considering our situation. Everyone was very nice and friendly.

Like the property for the peace and quiet and the room itself.

Comfortable and staff was nice

Very comfortable, nice rooms, staff was friendly. Enjoyed the jacuzzi. Don't really understand being charged $15 a day just to park in the parking lot, it’s not like we have an option to park somewhere else. Already paying to stay, parking should be included. The lil bistro was ok pricey for what is served.

I liked the location . I did not like the sleeping conditions! We needed separate sleeping areas. The main room was nice, bed comfortable. The pull-out sofa was hideous! The mattress was so thin, you could feel every spring! The bedding for this was also unbelievably bad! The blanket was so scratchy and thin. Reminded me of Girl Scout Camp! Then to add insult to injury, our bill listed a "Tourist Fee". Really??

It’s mine and my families first time , and our stay was just perfect even though it was just for one night it blew our mind of how clean it was from the moment you walk in . Receptionist at the desk was amazing just took amazing care of us even offered us water very nice . I would rate it 10 if I could . We are definitely going to continue to stay whenever we travel to San Diego .

A lovely weekend stay

The hotel was nice. The staff was very good. There was a very nice pool and areas to hang out, one with a fire pit. The room was clean and well appointed. My husband felt that the bed was broken down on the side where one would sit. There was music that plays in the courtyard area which started quite early and played quite late. The music was good in my opinion but may not be to others. Overall I’d love to stay there again with more time to enjoy the props. There was also a gym and hot tub we didn’t get to check out.

I was not happy the hotel did not include breakfast for a $ 300-night room. Not even a measly cup of coffee. Also, pet-friendly for $150 was pretty high.
