Good hotel in a quiet area
Bathroom is awful. Glass door, size lack of shower curtain, lack of water pressure. Carpet stains in room. Lobby area was cold as doors frequently open. Dining was very good and staff excellent!
Lovely stay
The room was very clean with a spacious bathroom, with complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Had air conditioning which warmed the room very well and cooled it down when needed. The mattress was very deep and comfortable, with a good quailty mattress topper and bedding. The only thing that was disappointing was the tv. This only had basic channels and was very small in comparison to the size of the room. I would have thought with it being a 4 star hotel it would have had a smart tv so you could watch thing's like Netflix, itv x, I player. The only app available was you tube.
Nice hotel. Bit of a journey into town but if you rent a car or drive no problem. About 20-30mins. Hotel was nice, food was good. (Breakfast is worth the extra 10£ per night) Overall would recommend.
The room was not as clean as I would expect it to be upon arrival.
Excellent!!
Place was a bit far from the town proper but easily navigated and staff were helpful in guiding us.
Really nice clean and comfortable and nice staff
We had a great stay
Vwry good
Very good, comfy bed, warm but not hot , check in smoth and staff been polite.
The place was very clean and comfortable. Gym, Pool and Spa facilities were not available. Not sure how the food was, as didn't tried any but the breakfast was good. Very limited vegetarian options.
Very comfortable and pleasant experience. Great staff!!
A nice hotel with an easy bus ride into Edinburgh which saved me from the effort of driving and parking in the city itself. We had one dinner and one breakfast in the hotel. Food was adequate but not particularly inspiring. The room was clean and comfortable. Good value and location for visiting the city.
The receptionist Laura and Therese were very helpful and friendly. The only thing i didn't like was the big pillows crammed into small pillowcases. I had to take them out of the cases as otherwise I would've thought that I was sleeping on a brick. I told the Manager about it. But nothing was done.
Modern, clean and stylish hotel located on university campus. Booked a king room but told at check-in unavailable and changed to twin. Bit disappointing but as single traveller not a deal breaker and given a free drink voucher to compensate. Lighting in room slightly dim as only wall lights in bedroom area. Breakfast selection not as extensive as many hotels but tasty and well presented. Would stay again.
Great trip and wonderful stay.
I liked the ease of access to transportation into the city and nearby shopping.
Great for Heriot Watt Uni and Research Park, nothing close though if you want to eat/drink elsewhere. I was allocated an accessible room, it was huge and the air-con was very effective. Clean and tidy. Breakfast was basic but fine for the price and available until 10am which is handy. Free Parking a real advantage.
Great hotel Good parking Friendly staff Nice food Comfortable
.
A nice hotel in a very nice area.
A nice hotel with very friendly staff. The location is very nice. I would stay there again. Frequent buses to the centre.
Great place to stay in Edinburgh if you are not wanting to stay in the extreme tourist area. But it would take you a while to get to those places from here.
Nice place to stay in Edinburgh close enough to the airport. A Shuttle to the airport would be nice.
Excellent hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Really nice and quiet area, not very far away from the city. Very nice and clean property
Comfortable stay. Far from city center
Quiet and comfortable. Could have more variety of food for gluten and dairy intolerant guests.
It was a fairly good hotel. Comfortable bed and friendly staff. The room was an accessible one (we have no disabilities) which meant it was not particularly comfortable for us. We also had booked 2 nights here on our own and had a third one through a tour company for the start of a month long driving holiday we booked through a third party. Communication was not great and we wound up with the room not serviced at all for our third night. Disappointing.
The staff has been wonderful.
It’s near/in a beautiful university sight. There’s not much to do as far shopping but you can go for a beautiful walk The staff from kitchen to reception was wonderful and attentive. Breakfast was wonderful. Great bar.
It was excellent
A comfortable & conveniently positioned hotel.
Very clean room, comfortable beds. Good breakfast available - plus evening (which would benefit from more variety.) Good parking available. Overall a well located hotel with a regular bus service a few yards away.
Good to stay but poor services with the hotel.
Just upset the hotel did not respond to my request. I booked it for my friend who got married recently, it’s a gift for them. I asked for a welcome Prosecco and some banner saying “congratulations Mr & Mrs”, but when I ask my friend, she said, the hotel did not do any of my request.
Nice hotel outside of city center
Our stay was great! Beds were not comfortable and breakfast left something to be desired for the price. Matthew - one of the front desk supervisors - was excellent!! He gave great recommendations, knew who we were when we walked past and would always ask questions about our day! His service was top notch!!
Convenient
Friendly and awesome service
checked in during weekend face tissue didn't get refill until Monday.
Excellent staff. Clean, easy parking. Shower pressure could be better.
It’s very expressive but not that kind of facilities.
Spacious room.
Nightmare visit
Oh first entry room smelt of bleach so strong it gave us bad heads stains on carpet no tea coffee water ect and then to top it all off the breakfast was a sham no where to sit no eggs for ages coffee machine broke so in all it was a waste of money I would like a full refund
Edinburgh overnight
This is our third stay at the Courtyard and as previously it was excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.Great breakfast and efficient and friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again.
Breakfast was subpar at best. Not enough options
The Stay is amazing but not all Staff are helpful. The 2 ladies in reception was very kind and guided us alot. Rohit from breakfast took the time to sit and walk us through all the bus station we can use and best method to travel as well. The housekeeping had trouble to understand us as well but other than its a Marriott things are comfortable.
Comfortable stay for World Orienteering Champs
Very comfortable room and excellent restaurant for dinner. I didn't try breakfast. Quite expensive though but was busy in Edinburgh. Attending the WOC 2024 Orienteering.
wrong type of hotel for its location.
Given that the price for this hotel room was above average, I want to give an object review. 1/. This is a fairly new-build, the layout and walk-through need attention. I did not like the way the path to the lifts went directly past the dining tables and the bar area. Ok, great in the event of a fire, you can get out fast. But this should not be the overriding reason for a design feature of this nature. 2/. This very open nature of the ground floor for me was the reason the main aroma here was of the toilets and possibly the more stale smells emanating from the kitchens. This made me apprehensive about dining here. However, as it was late, and the hotel location is away from the main Edinburgh restaurants, I did order food, which was excellent and well presented. 3/. The hotel room was adequate, with no frills. There was nothing that would place it above a Travelodge room or Premier Inn room, which leaves me wondering why the price was well above those of other two hoteliers. 4/. The green LED on the air conditioning control panel is much too bright. One may as well try and sleep with a light on, or turn the A/C off and end up with a stuffy room. The location is beautiful, Heriot-Watt university campus is lovely. It is just a pity that this hotel is much too corporate to blend with its surroundings.
Poor sleep due no natural ventilation. Without air conditioning it was far too hot and with air conditioning you have all the discomforts that it offers. Too cold, too dry, too noisy, too needy, etc.
No complimentary water in the room. Considering the price paid it would have been nice
Not much nearby. No close restaurants. Good public transportation nearby. Buffet breakfast was not good. Lunch and dinner from menus was good.
terrible
no vegetarian option at breakfact , hash brown and eggs were disgustinga nd very rubbery and dried out, . Mould in shower cubicle, tried to telephone reception but phone in room did not work , and Tv would not connect to my or my partners phone so we could stream tv
Safe clean friendly. Totally accommodating. Fantastic option outside the city center of Edinburgh.
The team and staff were amazing!
Great choice for easy access to Edinburgh without having to negotiate the traffic. The local bus stops a short walk away and was £2 each way. The location was very pretty and quiet with great parking. The food was very good and all the staff were very helpful and attentive. If you want to know a bit about things to see and do talk to Matthew on the front desk (he was very knowledgeable, engaging and had a good sense of humour). We would definitely recommend this hotel if travelling to Edinburgh.
I was blown away by the service and quality of food. One of the servers heard us talking about something and brought it for us without even asking
Matthew was a great desk agent. Super helpful for our tired traveling minds by making everything easy. It was a quick overnight, but nice and quiet for us!
Perfect!
My grandson and I had a wonderful stay, enjoyed walking, the food and the delightful staff. A lovely place. Provided everything. Thank you
Excellent service and hotel.
The customer service is amazing! Mathew was the best! He told us how to use the bus to downtown Edinburgh and the tram. He had great pub recommendations too. The only drawback is the pillows we're too hard.
Stayed here a lot over the years, love it
Quite place to live in
clean travel friendly hotel close enough to airport Beautiful view out of full ceiling to floor window
Can’t say enough good things about this property, especially the chap on reception. Give him a pay rise, so friendly and helpful. Super easy to get into town on a bus from this location. Located in a beautiful area.
.
very clean and quiet
The shower could be changed to a more powerful rainwater overhead shower .Otherwise the hotel was fantastic
Staff was great
Great stay
Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Good hotel but feels a little remote and staff were efficient but could be more friendly and welcoming.
Good location
Stayed for three nights. Friendly staff, good size room with a very comfortable bed. We didn’t use the restaurant which we would of liked to of done because there was a rugby team staying so the downstairs areas were very busy for our entire stay, it would have been better if they had had their own space.
Relaxing location,
Good quality business style hotel equally good for relaxing in on a leisure trip. All service attention was good. Room was good but with poor lighting to the desk/work area. Coming to a late breakfast at 09.30 for a 10.00 finish, it seemed to be that some items had no longer been replenished, e.g. cold meats/bacon. Guess one could go off to find staff and ask, but shouldn't have to. Nice location/setting with possibility to stroll out around greenery of the campus. Good, free parking right next to the hotel. Food available on site with a good bar. Food was average but not excessively priced. Hotel itself was a little pricey, but as said good quality generally,
Quick check in. Wheelchair friendly and the room was accessible. Perfectly clean and comfortable. Food was a bit over priced for what it was but ok. Bus stops close by so easy to get to the city centre.
The hotel is not near anything-petrol, food, etc., but within 5-10 minutes driving. We stayed only for one night prior to a flight. The hotel is modern and the room was spacious. My only complaint is that I do not understand the design of frosted glass doors and walls for a bathroom. The bathroom doors had inch wide openings, which leaves zero privacy. I could see the TV from the shower through the crack. A design I’ll never understand and don’t know how it caught on.
Very clean, quiet property. Easy parking and the staff went above and beyond during our stay.
The room was nice. clean and quiet. Prefect location and good breakfast
Nice and clean, friendly staff, so quiet at nighttime. Id highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent Service and Stay
Excellent hotel service, staff where friendly and helped with any questions or issues. Always on hand to help. Chromecast does not work at this hotel, but not really a big issue when your out and about and not in the hotel. Plenty of buses and ways to get into Edinbrough, though driving is an easier option. Hotel always felt clean and tidy and bar area always had staff on hand, meal service and Breakfast looked amazing, though we didn't stay for it, still looked good. Overall it was an amazing stay and we have no complaints.
On my arrival I was met by Laura. She was pleasent professional and very efficient. Check in was a breeze.
Staff were extremely helpful, quiet, tranquil surroundings. Will book in again.
Food not great and over priced.
The room was clean and warm linen was clean and pillows smelt lovely I had a wonderful time and will definitely come again next time I’m in Edinburgh
Great hotel and convenient
excellent as usual
Overall very clean and large room. The dinner was not good, I had a cold spongey burger that was also quite pricey. No issues with the room!
Two hotels - very similar names - they wouldn’t even accept relocating me to the central one !!
Very enjoyable stay once more, easy check in and check out. Will stay here again.
Modern, contemporary base for exploring.
Great
This hotel has a modern, warm feel. The staff are fantastic. The standard king room was immaculate and spacious. The bar and restaurant area is nicely spaced giving privacy. The food and drink are reasonably priced and high quality. The breakfast is certainly worth booking. Staff will share their recomendations for things to do in the city centre. We went for the Christmas market. There was a taxi organised by the hotel to make things even more convenient. I wouldnt hesitate to book again.
Disappointed
Put into a disabled room that had not been fully cleaned, used tooth brush and other rubbish in bathroom bin. Teas and coffees had not been replenished and there was no hair dryer in the room. Spoke with reception who were plesent but no apology, stating the hotel was fully book citing the reason for us being placed in a disabled room, but there after offered us a twin room which we politely declined. Overall a disappointing stay.
Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we thought we were booked at the Marriott Courtyard near City Centre. We were able to enjoy the city despite this.
The hotel is in a quiet location. Though it is far from the city, there is a bus stop just nearby the hotel, so very convenient to travel to and from the city. Small room with comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The half opened shower door causing trouble as the bathroom floor easily got very wet.
Disappointed
The listing shows that laundry is available, however there are no machines located on the property. They go through a third party to have your laundry serviced at a fee and only between certain hours on certain days. The room was clean but the shower had a lot of mold.
Overall everything is good, staff is also friendly. However I got the problem that there was no hot water on the first night…I tried to call the service desk for a few times but the phone seems not connecting to anyone. When I went to the front desk one of the staff told me the problem was due to the boiler, I understood that it might not be solved soon as it was 11pm already, but I was not given any alternatives, and I’m not sure if it is really just a problem for my room or for others as well as I dun see other people complaining. The second day the problem was fixed, however the water was still not hot enough, the water power was also rather weak. I gave me comment when I left the hotel. Hopefully it will be better next time.
We stayed here one night in our transition from Scotland to Ireland. It was a welcome environment.
Great hotel, wonderful staff and comfortable beds.
Nice facility. Comfortable rooms. Breakfast buffet is great.
Great food!
Stunning
Great staff, easy check-in and good options!
Front desk staff were brilliant.

The hotel was in a good location. Quiet lication. Good parking. Staff very polite and service was good for diner. The Food was was less great. Breakfast was a buffet. Cold bacon, cold sausage and cold beans. No temperaturecontrol at all. Very disappointing. Hard fried eggs that had not been refreshed. Diner the night before was very ordinary curry from a microwave, again not heated properly. Shame the food let the hotel down as i would have used the hotel again.
