Good service and location
Nice hotel in the modern area of Edingburg
Very Good
Surprised at how modern and clean. Lots of attentive staff. Breakfast very good. Location central Edinburgh ideal.
Very central. Room and hotel in general very clean and quiet. Breakfast and breakfast staff are excellent. Bed comfortable and very good shower.
Second stay here. Very comfortable, clean and convenient location. Lovely staff too.
Perfect stay
Staff were amazingly helpful. We had a car breakdown en route and were allowed to check in early to run back down the m8 to save them. Hotel is beautiful. Comfortable, well equipped, and conveniently located. Beds and pillows are so comfy, shower works well and the room was spacious. I have not one single complaint.
Fantastic hotel in a great location
Super location, close to a tram stop and a short walk to the main train station. You can get a tram from the airport that takes about 40 minutes and stops a few metres from the hotel. Friendly helpful staff.
Lovely but not great sleep
The hotel is lovely but we were woken through the night on various occasions with a door opening and shutting next door which was marked staff.
Stay in Edinburgh
First class hotel
The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is outstanding, but a bit rushed by the wait staff. Overall a very pleasing experience.
It was ok. Room was very cold during the night even though we had the AC set at 25°c. There was also a noise, like a generator, for part of the night. Breakfast was not great. Scrambled eggs were a bit rubbery and hash browns were hard. Raspberry muffins looked amazing but sponge wasn’t cooked properly. It took me several tries to get a clean hot plate, a lot of them were dirty
room 521 faced the rear of building & faced onto Edinburgh Playhouse bin area. Bins collected 6am - woke both guests up with noise. Not very nice views from bedroom window
The hotel its self was very nice and well situated. The only downfall was the fire alarm went off at 7am when we only arrived at 12 not getting to sleep until 2am so 5 hours sleep wasn't what we needed. Oh well. Would stay here again tho 👍
The check in process was very easy, offered to hold our bags when our room wasn’t ready and then whilst we were chatting a room became free! Jake checked us in and offered great suggestions of where to visit close by. The check out process was also very easy. Room was nice, big TV and clean.
Great location for using train, catching tram to airport and sites to see.
Another great stay.
Good location. Quiet comfortable room. Freud fly staff.
Absolutely love this hotel and am happy to stay here every time I visit Edinburgh. This is my fourth stay so far. Only difference this time was the bar staff wasn’t as helpful and never brought an item I requested twice. Overall though I love this hotel.

All staff were very helpful & friendly. We had a great stay & would definitely recommend & go back again.
Lovely comfortable family stay
Brilliant location, close to Princes street shops and art gallery, close to Bonny ane Wild (choice of restaurants in one mall). Gorgeous decor ground floor bar, very welcoming staff on reception on arrival (especially Kirsty who helped us resolve an issue with our room), room decent size, 2 double beds, nice and light faced the road but double glazing so quiet. Bathrooms needed an upgrade as shower had damp in the sealant and they need to install ventilation/fans to reduce damp issues in bathrooms. Staff were excellent all in all, from front desk to the ops manager (Wilbert?). Breakfast superb and again lovely staff, nice dining room and good selection. Option of omelette on the menu would have been good as scrambled eggs and fritatta for self service breakfast were tasteless. Aside from that really lovely stay, would recommend!
Great place & friendly staff.
Very convenient for food dinning options near by couples of food courts
Hotel is in a great location. Let down by the beds in room 412 which were well passed their use with visible big dips in them even with a plumped up duvet on top. Staff recovered the situation well ok the second night moving us to another room with acceptable beds though these too were extremely soft but nowhere near as bad as the first night. All that said would return as staff and location are great.
Had a lovely stay will def be back
Wonderful stay with Courtyard Edinburgh! 4 min walk from the tram line, which brought us everywhere we needed to go. Also within walking distance of Old Town, Waverly Station and lots of other destinations. Room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable!
We were in Edinburgh for show.
Lovely overnight stay at this hotel. Rooms were great and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing , fantastic choice . All hotel staff very friendly. Perfect location. Looking forward to another stay soon. Would highly recommend.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Vv
The room was clean, spacious and convenient. The in room dining options are very limited, they do not have the full restaurant menu available, no breakfast options.
It was just ok
It was a fine stay. We stayed on the first floor which was in the basement. No light. Breakfast was not great. Second night i just picked up coffee and a breakfast sandwich from a local bakery.
Our rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The shower was so so. Not much pressure in room 110. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a good variety. Goo deal for the value.
THIS PROPERTY WAS SUPPER CLEAN LAST TIME WHEN I STAY HERE EARLY THIS YEAR. THIS TIME WAS DISAPOINTED BECAUSE THE ROOM NEEDS REAL BIG CLEAN AND THE SHOWER NEED COKEING, AND THE A/C DID'T WORK MOST OF THE TIME.
Near to nice restaurants and shopping mall. Near the tram from airport - easy to get around. Short walk to centre of town.
Very efficient and cordial and minutes walk to anywhere
Staff is very helpful. And room maintenance staff is really good. Overall 5 stars.
Lovely location and spacious room
Perfect location and personnel very nice
The front-desk staff are excellent and helpful. They even come to my room to help setup the wifi connection on my mobile. The room and breakfast are good. Just one thing to point out is housekeeping never refills the coffee/tea while the used glasses/cups are not replaced with clean ones, leaving on the bench for as long as you stay.
Very nice staff
Excellent staff, very accommodating and friendly
Overnight stay
excellent location near city centre. Staff attentive and knowledgeable. Rooms clean and spacious. Food and drinks reasonably priced.
The property is not easy to find but convenient if one wants to explore EDI. The property was clean and the staff helpful.
Very clean, helpful staff
Overall very good. Service was good. A/C in room troublesome.
This was a lovely hotel stay. Premier Twin was clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff were really friendly. Service was great.
Safe clean friendly. Fantastic option for a stay in city center of Edinburgh. Numerous eating options. Close to all attractions.
Lovely Stay!
I was unexpectedly stranded in Edinburgh, and selected this hotel for the night before my next flight. It was a wonderful place to stay! The staff were incredibly friendly, I enjoyed the design, having a terrace and lounge was delightful, and it was close to many of the things I wanted to do and see in my one day there. The bed was comfortable, and I fell asleep very quickly. I would definitely go back the next time I am in the city!
Great service! Well done Team!
Enjoyed our stay. Very pleasant and approachable staff in all the departments, always ready to help or respond to any questions. The waitresses/waiters were very professional yet friendly. We really enjoyed all aspects of our stay and had no complaints whatsoever.
OK, but not necessarily worth the money
8th floor room with dormers interfered with space - adequate for 1 person, but not two. Door latch or deadbolt did not work. Construction due to remodeling ongoing and often inconvenient. Too pricey to have to deal with that and no mention it was taking place - might have looked elsewhere. Location is great, staff often very helpful.
Easy to get to. railing or ramp if required
checkout time and room card
the checkout time is 12:00 but at 11:57, the front desk deactivated the room card even we have not checked out. We could not get into our room and needed to activate the room card again through front desk. I never been to a hotel that deactivate room card before the guest checkout. If I missed the checkout time , you can charge me extra. I am willing to pay but not deactivate my room card like I am breaking the rule. So disappointed.
A great location for our visit to Edinburgh! Hotel staff and amenities were excellent!
The location was the key ingredient with us. Everything else completely reached our expectations and beyond.
The hotel was in a great location and has a lot of potential. There were some building works going on while we were there - no disturbance from them at all, but it did make the layout a bit confusing. On arrival, we were checked into a room that had not been cleaned. After reporting the issue, the staff moved us to another (upgraded) room and offered free drinks and breakfast to compensate. The resolution was super speedy. They wanted to give us some money back off the room, which would have been appreciated, but they couldn’t do so because we booked via Expedia. They mentioned a process for following up with Expedia but it was unclear to me how to do this. I’d stay again, but would probably look for other options first. The hotel was fine, and the staff diligent. Just felt a bit tired and very average for the price point.
Our room was directly below the dining area; starting at 4am or thereabouts we were woken up by sounds of arranging the tables and chairs. Then at 7am when breakfast started it became impossible to sleep. If your room is on the third floor, be forewarned as this seems an intractable problem. Otherwise the lobby was in the process of being renovated, and our friends thought the room seemed reminiscent of a Travelodge. We also had a glass bathroom door that had sagged in its hinges and therefore couldn’t be closed. To be fair I’m sure this could have been fixed by maintenance and we did report it as we left. However, given the costly rate, I would not stay here again. On the positive side, the location was extremely convenient and close to the tram.
Great place to stay great for the Playhouse
Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming! Room was clean and comfortable. Walkable to most things.
Beautiful City Hotel w/ Inconvenient Parking
We had a lovely stay in a "family suite" (a standard room in the U.S. except with full beds instead of queens). Great things about our room include: ➡️ Beautiful 10 ft. ceilings ➡️ A massive, recently remodeled bathroom w/ plenty of storage space for 3 people's toiletries ➡️ Plenty of outlets for charging phones and tablets ➡️ A safe to store those extra electronics while sightseeing ➡️ Plenty of instant coffee & hot chocolate plus tea, shortbread & a kettle to help you warm up after attending a late night event on nearby Calton hill Nice things about the hotel location include: ➡️ Close to a small mall (with many food options) & public transportation ➡️ Just around the corner from Calton hill ➡️ Walking distance to plenty of cool places for tourists, though some are a 20-30 minute walk (Edinburgh Castle, The Witchery, the Witches Memorial, etc.) Things that might be an issue for some travelers: ➡️ The hotel does not appear to have an accessible entrance. The front door has a few small steps, and staff didn't readily inform us of any other option ➡️ There is parking, but you have to arrange it ahead of your stay (use a QR & discount code) to keep it kind of reasonable, but if you book here, none of that info is provided before your stay. You can still park, but it'll be 22£ per day. ➡️ Hotel says you can park in front & drop off luggage, but the area is so busy we didn't feel comfortable doing that. So we had to drag bags through the garage & 2 blocks down the street.
Drifters Girl
We have stayed in this Hotel a few times and we really like the location and the friendliness of the staff. They are doing alterations to the reception area but it did not affect us at all. The staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good.
Hotel was a great end to our 2 week tour around Scotland. The parking was my biggest concern but the hotel partnered with Omni at the nearby shopping center and as long as you pre booked it went very smoothly. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and well equipped. The restaurant was pretty good with great staff. We had breakfast, dinner and drinks and enjoyed our experience each time.
We enjoyed our stay. Room and breakfast was excellent. Having to park offsite was less convenient but common in Edinburgh. Make sure to book parking in advance to get discount!
Centrally located!
Comfy room and good location
Room is modern contemporary designed. Bed is comfortable. And they have twin bedroom for us. Friendly staff on check in. Breakfast just very basic. There’s a Wetherspoon not far from hotel. We had our breakfast there after tried one morning in the hotel. Located not too far from station, next to Carlton Hill, easy transportation, lots of restaurants choice nearby, a Tesco next street
This was the perfect stay! We added a nights stay in transit and they easily combined our two reservations. We had a spacious quiet room on the main floor, that was super clean and comfortable. Perfect location, in the heart of everything. Would definitely book again!
As the hotel was under renovation, there were gaps in service. No lounge . The bar was in the restaurant and had no nibbles. Red wine was cold. The restaurant was noisy and not conducive to a relaxing drink before the evening meal. The express breakfast was not available on the first two days( very good when available.
Hotel was under some construction in the main lobby area, but besides that the rooms nice! I found it a good walking distance to all the must sees (royal mile, Arthur’s seat, calton hill) and right by the theater.
The property is located in a perfect location in my opinion. You can take the tram right out of the airport and it will drop you off a short walk away. The Edinburgh bus station is a short walk away, all the tourist attractions are in a walkable distance. The property itself is nice but unfortunately going through some construction when we stayed. The room we stayed in was a bit small but this was expected. A few issues we had was the room cleaning which seemed to be lacking ex: gave us one towel, didn’t restock our toilet paper, and left used glasses in our room. One thing that I just genuinely couldn’t get over was the toilet. It was a square toilet which just made it extremely difficult and awkward to use. I’m not sure if this is a standard for the UK or just a design choice but I’m thankful I don’t have to use it again lol. The shower was nice but it had low water pressure and I have never been a fan of the half walled showers as water gets all over the floor or rug on the open side. Our bed was a bit lumpy and we both had some issues sleeping but we powered through it. Overall we got what we paid for and the hotel was in a perfect location for us.
Soundproofing
.
No issues with any part of the stay… room was absolutely fine, but would have preferred a room at the front of the hotel
The staff at the Courtyard Marriott went the 2nd mile to help us. We are an older couple and needed help with luggage. They came to our taxi and carried our luggage in. When we checked out they came to our room and moved our luggage to load our Taxi. They have a device connected to the taxi company and they can have a taxi for you in 5 minutes or less. Clean nice rooms. Daily room cleaning. Highly recommend.
Good stay
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel in very good location though it is going through a refurbishment process. Check in was quick and easy, staff friendly and efficient. Room was very nice, hanging space ok though could have done with a couple of drawers, bed a little too soft for us but that’s just personal preference. We did have breakfast which was nice though we did think a bit much for £14.50. We had an enjoyable stay and would go back.
Great location for a city break
Fantastic location so very easy to get around town. Room was good size with a nice view of an old church and breakfast was decent. The issue was the room wasn’t cleaned very well/if at all during our stay and they didn’t clear away cups or clean and didn’t even give us the correct number of towels on the last day. Aside from that it was a good hotel for a short break.
Highly recommend. The staff were incredible. Centrally located. They just happened to be renovating the restaurant so it was understandable that it was a bit of an eyesore.
Very uncomfortable beds.
The bed was very uncomfortable. Far too soft and bouncy. If you have back problems you wouldn’t want to sleep here. If you don’t have a back problem when you arrived, you might leave with one.
It was perfect for what we wanted. Somewhere close to the old town but not too busy.
Great hotel. Highly recommended.
Great hotel. Excellent location and very comfortable rooms.
.
Excellent hotel in great location
Lovely stay
Lovely stay. Hotel is very central. Staff friendly. Excellent breakfast
Awesome location. Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. Friendly and pleasant staff. Good breakfast.
Fantastic city centre hotel
Excellent central Edinburgh hotel. Great room and frindly service.
Easy check-in and checked-out. Staff are not are very helpful and it closed to everything.
Homely hotel
Nice central hotel with relaxed atmosphere
Fantastic stay
Excellent location to stay. Found staff very attentive and quick to assist.
Room was very good; comfy bed; good shower; staff very helpful and friendly. Reception, Bar and Eating area was a bid cramped and limited for space.
Convenient hotel
Nice clean hotel, central and convenient. Tea and coffee missing not replenished in my room and towel missing second day, room service needs a word.
Wonderful experience. I checked in after midnight, and Sam was GREAT. He gave me a ton of information about the property and city. The room was stocked well, and very clean. The staff was great, and maintenance came to help me unlock my fridge after it locked. The hotel room was big, and being in the back of the building, it was quiet. Would stay again.
Could be better
The hotel was going on constructions that was not provided by the application or emails sent by them. The room was overlooking a trash area and was super hot with ac not working and we couldn’t change the room due to full capacity of the hotel
Breakfast areas.
Hotel was in a great location, clean and tidy. Was disappointed that the main breakfast area was under refurbishment and breakfast was served in the main bar area. This area was also going through major rework so the breakfast experience was loud and smelly, not what I want first thing in the morning. Hotel management should ask themselves why both areas were being transformed at the same time, very poor planning. To be fair the breakfast itself was very good. There was nothing mentioned on the hotels.com website regarding the extensive work going on.
Great hotel in a great location, near to tram stop. The only negative would be the breakfast service. The breakfast restaurant is closed for refurbishment and the restaurant where breakfast was served was carnage! Very busy and people seated in the wrong place.
Central location, Good breakfast comfy bed
Edinburgh break
Very good hotel and great stay
It's good, but to improve
Beds were very comfy and huge, the pillows were nice too, the only thing that spoilt our stay was either guests or staff talking loudly and laughing through the night so we kept getting woken up
Actually a very nice hotel and rooms well appointed. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Alas when checked in due to leak in another room we had no running water. We were assured problem would be fixed by time we returned or another room would be set aside. Alas when did return at 9pm this was not the case and reception were unaware of problem and had to ‘check out’ the situation. We were then provided with a nice but smaller room. Reception did say that if we went to the bar we’d get a free drink by way of an apology. Unfortunately the barman knew nothing about this. However all made good on checkout with bar tab covered and a proper apology from reception for the issue with the room. Things like this can happen but should not have checked us in to room with known problem and then fail to communicate what had been promised to sort it out.
Reasonable sized room and bathroom, bed was great size and very comfortable. a/c in room was good to have also..
