Need to have more staff in bar restaurant for evening. Wait time for food was 1 hour. Only 1 person serving and doing meals
The restaurant although advertised on line & throughout the hotel was closed.
Great stay!
Handy location. Shower leaked, causing swelling in the timers of the bathroom, so bad in fact that the bathroom door did not open or close.
Close to railway station. Over priced. Quilt had stain on it. Bathroom dated and door on shower is dodgy. Air-conditioning didn’t work well and it was noisy with a window open, so very stuffy in the room.
Friendly staff
Overall great :)
Unable to use balcony. Bathroom old, chipped tiles.....needs a refresh
No car parks available, room is very dated but overall was clean Bed was comfortable pillows need replacing very flat and hard
Stayed 3 times over the course of 4 weeks (9 nights total). Originally only planned to stay our first 3 nights but room was great for the price, staff were all lovely and the hotel was perfectly placed for us, so ended up returning twice during our trip around NZ.
I liked having a balcony. I ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the dinner and happy hour preceding it. The staff were very helpful.
Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
We were happy with our 3 nights stay. We had a harbor view but not necessarily a beautiful view. It was noisy due to proximity to railroad tracks. The room was clean and front desk staff were helpful. There aren’t very many dining choices close by. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel 2 evenings and food was good. The Viaduct Harbor, Britomart and Sky Tower area are within walking distance.
Very friendly staff, close walking distance to a variety of restaurants, shops, etc. Breakfast was good value and dinner was good food at a fair price.
Nice location
Car parking and assistance with luggage needs reviewing
Hotel slightly dated , restaurant is good. Would return
It was what i expected. Clean, comfortable & had everything i needed.
Great stay!
The staff was pleasant and dinner was fantastic! I highly recommend the lamb shank!!! The breakfast buffet was great. All in all was very satisfied!
Nice hotel for short stays.
Easy to find. Clean room. Check in staff awesome. First night problem with ac. Charging outlets inconvenient. First night room service not provided. Restaurant staff and menu good selection. Recommend for short stays.
The staff were friendly, the Hotel was clean and it had everything we needed.
Staff were super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was a great hit. Parking was a bit expensive but hey at least we could park at the hotel. Would recommend and will stay here again in future.
Rooms a bit stuffy, and opening doors/windows made it too noisy to sleep. Air con noisy to sleep with, but at least it was possible to turn down to 'cold'
Would stay again
Good location, good facilities. Rooms getting a little tired, especially the bathroom. But the price was right. Major issue was that there was a very loud banging noise outside my room all night. It was very windy and clearly something outside the building was not secured properly, resulting in loud crashing that woke me many times during the night. Passed this on to the receptioninst at check-out for follow up
Very disappointing.
Ok but not really as shown in the photos or description. Very low end budget hotel. Rather scruffy. Very tired looking, bed quite uncomfortable and bathroom very dated and black mildew around shower enclosure/tiling. Harbour view advertised was of waste land and cranes with a very distant view of water, presumably container port.
Close proximity to Spark Arena
Very old run down hotel.
The WiFi was kind of in-and-out (and difficult to connect to on my computer), so not sure I'd recommend this to someone who needs to access the internet often. But for my purposes, this was a clean, quiet room to sleep in after long days of travel, and it did the job extremely well! The bed was comfy, the room was dark, and I never had any problems getting to sleep.
Grest place to stay if got show or concert at spark under 10 min walk, hotel little old and could go with make over and shower not the best. Good breakfast good coffee at breakfast.
Everything ok thank you.
We walked into our room and there was a worker/painter sitting in the armchair having a nap or rest. He woke up when we opened the door and promptly gathered his painting gear and left. We were a little shocked and went downstairs to ask to swap rooms just to be safe. Reception apologized and gladly swapped our rooms and also upgraded us to the harbour view. Very happy with our short stay.
Fair value.
Clean and tidy but rather dated. Reasonably close to main shopping area and harbour. I thought value for money but no history for comparison.
Good access to main waterfront n university
Lovely view from Harbourview room, very kind staff, awesome breakfast
The people I dealt with in person were lovely. I find the badgering by this 'wotif' crowd annoying.
The staff were delightful!
Nothing
It was a wrong decision to stay 4 nights at Corpthorne Auckland. Everything was unsatisfactory
The hotel is tired and run-down. I pre-paid for 3 nights but left after the first night because it was so bad.
Very accessible & great service!
Very positive and helpful staff throughout the stay.
Need to do some checking and maintenance as I was observed shower not working properly.
Outside traffic but noisy
It had all the conveniences, good location
Slightly dated hotel but decent for its price
Dated hotel and rooms are in worse condition than the pictures on hotels.com show. Service manager and staff were very good but we did have some issues with getting room cleaned despite requesting it twice
Excellent location and staff were extremely helpful and polite.
Very well located for accessing all central Auckland tourist and shopping venues within walking distance. Hotel is in an elevated position with great mid distance views over the harbour area from one side and the quiet city on the other. I had a lovely big room with panoramic windows very nicely fitted out. Good breakfast.
Property looking very tired and in need of refurbishment. Worst condition of any Copthorne I have ever stayed in. When booking, requested quiet room however the room allocated to us was immediately adjacent to lift shaft with constant noise from lifts, leading to two nights of interrupted sleep. Shower gel in bath empty on arrival and still not refilled after first day, by which time shampoo was also empty and not refilled. No coffee/tea etc. refilled after first day, however after contacting reception they were delivered to room.
the room is old. Bathroom was too tiny and no exhaust fan
Was a good deal and rooms are clean
Was not expecting to have to pay a $50 bond after already paying $175 for my stay. The hotel it self is ok, but could do with some refurbishing, the shower i basically had to bend over back wards to get my hair wet. My overstay was good. Staff were freindly enough
.
Clean and tidy. Perfect location for the concert at Spark Arena. A quick walk to venue. Excellent service at the desk also
Comfortable in many respects
Nice bright room, quiet too for city centre. Staff very welcoming and helpful on all occasions
Reception staff were ‘sour’
Walking distance from the harbour and city centre
Very comfy bed, great shower and nice balcony.
Close to the city centre. Bed was great, but room and bathroom feels quite dated.
Good for our short stay
Bit dated but clean and tidy
The property need to improve the bathroom door to be lockable and hooks or rails to hand cloths. Air condition is a central unit and noisy.
Basic maintenance is missing, staff friendly, noisy next to trains but convenient for spark arena
Great value for money
Dirty, housekeeping not doing a proper clean, leaving items from previous guest in the shower. Mini fridge not working.
A bit hard to find with the trees obscuring the sign....otherwise, it was very clean and tidy inside. Beware of the $30 overnight parking fee.
The noise of small fridge at night time.
Good for the price. Comfortable bed. Nice & central. Close to spark arena.
A
We enjoyed our stay at the Copthorne. The hotel is walking distance (@2k) to the pedestrian mall, ferries, and HOHO bus. The breakfast is more than adequate, the restaurant and bar were very good. The staff was always friendly and kind.
Standard of superior room a bit below par, rotten toilet room door frame ,rooms needs Paint ,can do better
A nice place to stay in the city, convenient walking distance down to the waterfront and main hubs. Decent facilities and friendly staff.
Had to change rooms as pipe under basin was broken and water went straight to the floor.
Good location for us, clean and tidy.
Easy stay, lovely staff.
Nice place bit hard to get coffee and sugar etc from them as room for three people and only two coffee and four sugar in room and two towels both days maybe communication between desk and room cleaning staff could be better
Great
taxi from hotel
ok, but will never ask desk for a cab as was charged $35 to go to the strand railway when they booked it for me.
Great for price. Nice and quiet in rooms. Clean and tidy. Buffet was average, the only thing I could fault.
Had a restaurant on site and offered breakfast at a reasonable extra cost.
Great stay and fantastic service during check in.
Parking was a bit tight
Exceptional room service
Overall it was a good experience, staff were friendly, the room was tidy can't complain
The staff were very good and friendly. The room was clean. It would have been nice to have some shelves in the bathroom to put you toiletries on and somewhere to hang a hand towel.
Good place to stay. Handy to the CBD. Within walking distance to lots of activities and sights. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was good. Would stay here again.
Friendly staff, room was clean but dated decor. Super comfy bed.
WAS COMFORTABLE AND BEST SHOWER PRESSURE OF A NEW ZEALAND HOTEL....
We like the location of the property and having a balcony. Its an easy walk to where we want to go and a great price
Location was convenient, price ok, parking available, but room interior was a bit tired...
I didn’t like that they never informed me about a deposit
Modern hotel near the city Centre and university. Clean and pleasant room and facilities, nice view. Very good value for money.
Nice and easy location, good price. Only downside is the room wasnt very soundproof so could hear people in the hall opening and closing doors, especially the stairwell door.
Handy to downtown Auckland.
Furniture in rooms getting worn out. Beds clean and comfortable WiFi terrible. One old chair behind a desk you could not move not ideal for a couple Staff lovely and helpful. Food in restaurant very nice
My husband was surprised to see that our 2nd option room eas better than the first for the same price.
Local parking options have height limits, no good for utes. Bathrooms run down and need some TLC.
Disappointed for Copthorne standard
Thank you for the Filipino staff serving in the bar and dining area every morning (sorry I forgot your name), she’s very accommodating and help above and beyond. ♥️
Good
