Parking was great , even for a truck and trailer. Very clean, quiet, comfortable with a great breakfast. The place is well looked after and the staff was happy!

Great value for money

It was easy to find on Lakeshore Drive in North Bay in a nice lot across from Lake Nipissing. Our first impression was how nice the lobby looked and Mary Ellen, the registration clerk, was most helpful, even without asking. Very pleasant and knowledgeable and obviously a very hard worker. She helped us with finding our way around and places to go. The room was well-equipped with a king-sized bedand had a mini-frig and microwave in it. It was very clean with a nice ambiance. It was obvious that the owner and staff looked after it very well. The next morning, Shawna, another pleasant worker, was on staff and did a very good job of keeping the breakfast area well-stocked. We were amazed at the of variety of food available: juices, yogurts, fresh fruit, cream cheese, bagels, breads, danishes, waffles to make on the spot, syrup, cereals and milk and lots of decent coffee. There was even a large screen TV to keep us up on current events. Shawna was in ofter, cleaning the area and restocking. What a lovely experience we had and all at a reazonable price! We will most definitely tell others about it and hope that our review will help them continue to provide excellent service for their customers.

This is a great budget hotel. No frills, but clean, solid breakfast, helpful staff.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Common areas are a little sketchy, and there appears to be something happening on first few floors; not related to the hotel. Fine for an inexpensive stay for a night; but not a place I’d want to spend multiple nights. Price is right.

I did find one of the staff members not to be too friendly. There was one who we deal with most of the time and she was there and she was very nice. The entrance was very slippery when going in and out of the building.

Did not check in as my reservation was cancelled by the hotel yet I was still charged by Expedia for $94 despite calling 3 times to the reservations number they were clueless and disconnected me 3 times stating they were a 3rd party booking gave me an alternate number so we booked a hotel paid for a hotel but did not get a hotel as the host location said it was cancelled and now to chase a REFUND

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and his time we noticed our room was not clean at all. The popcorn ceiling had many bugs stuck in it. There were very large cobwebs in the corners of the room. It was gross!

Comfort Inn Lakeshore Dr. North Bay

Front desk clerk was very helpful and informative and other staff friendly. The room was clean and beds very comfortable. Although the bathroom was clean, the shampoo bottle had been partly used and the vanity showed marked wear.

It's a Comfort Inn it was what you'd expected it to be. It is dated and showing its age. It was clean and bed was very nice.

The bathroom had poo and food on the wall

The reservation was for a queen bed and pull out couch but there was only 1 bed, we weren’t offered a room switch …the walls are paper thin, you can hear absolutely everything next door. The room beside us had loud guests that were up until 3 am and we had to be up at 6 am. Won’t be staying there again.

DIRTY CRACK MOTEL

The first room smelt like urine, so after long discussion with front desk they switched us rooms and the second room smelt like smoke and wet dog. They then refused to refund us and it had only been 10 minutes since we checked in. The hotel was super noisy with people running up and down the hallways screaming, slamming doors and smoking in the hallway. Could hear a dog barking in the hotel a lot of the night. Front desk did not answer the phone when i called down 5 times and no staff at the front desk when i went downstairs to complain. This was between 2am to 5am. The blanket on bed was stained they only allowed you 2 towels and if you wanted an additional towel they refused without you providing them with a dirty towel for a replacement towel. They also don't tell you it is pet friendly.

We were given a very tough time by the morning front desk agent at the hotel. I had the booking for 2 nights through expedia but the front desk agent kept insisting that the booking was only for one night and that we would have to vacate the property asap . Despite seeing the email confirmation from expedia, she kept insisting that expedia made a mistake of creating two separate bookings for the 2 consecutive nights of our booking and kept saying that we would have to immediately vacate the room or pay extra to book a new room. They were not ready to take any responsibility for the booking made via expedia and pushed me to talk to expedia and figure everything out while keeping us out of the room. It was such an insulting way to treat a customer who had paid the hotel to stay and enjoy couple of nights in North Bay. This was such a traumatizing experience and I never expected any hotel staff any where in the world to behave in such a way. Why are they doing business with expedia if they don’t want to take any responsibility whatsoever of the customers who have made bookings through expedia? They also threatened us to call the cops on us if we didn’t vacate or complied with them. This is the worst attitude of any hotel staff that I have seen in my life. After realizing their mistake, instead of apologizing, they asked us to either stay or leave the property and work with expedia to request a refund. I request expedia to scrutinize this property and fix the managements attitude

Clean, what you expect from comfort inn.

Nice bed but noisy room due to a/c unit. Poor bathroom amenities especially soap the size of a loonie. Could not run the bathroom exhaust fan due to the noise and risk of a fire from the motor.

We came in late and We are just here overnight but the walls is flimsy you can hear Nextdoor talking, kids running on the hallways until late at night. The room smell like smoke and wet dog. I can’t sleep because of the smell it was strong and horrible

Would Not Book Again

Upon arrival there was no attendant available for at least 10 minutes. It seems like the hotel has their attendants working front desk duty as well as laundry. To be fair she was very pleasant during check in despite working double duty. When entering the room the smell of dirty feet was almost overwhelming, as well as finding an ant in our sheets. The air conditioning worked fairly well but was very noisy when it would kick on during the night. The bathroom and most of the rest of the hotel hasn’t been upgraded like the many other Comfort Inns have that we have stayed at. A few redeeming factors would be the comfort of the bed, as well as the free breakfast in the morning. All in all this was a disappointing Comfort Inn experience compared to other locations.

They had started some renovation but didn’t update heating and ac very loud, not working required front desk to fix. Tub/shower needs replaced looks old and don’t drain Front desk staff member helpful and polite

Bathroom was a bit dated at the property, check in was simple. Close to the theater and some dinning options.

The beds are old. No closets. Drawers did not open properly. Couch is old and musty. Door to the outside did not close properly. Always open when we used it. Felt unsafe.

Only decaffeinated coffee in room when we get there. If you are expecting room house keeping don't. You have to put in request for it. So if you want coffee the next morning you need to go to front desk and ask. Breakfast was ok. Staff was ok. But this request for house keeping is some what weird. Other hotels they make up your room do garbage, sheets, vacume room. Not here !

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, some noise during the day in the hallway quiet at night, some dirt and bugs (silverfish) in the hallways and stairwell. AC worked well, internet was kinda spotty, breakfast wasn't very good, worked well for a couple who just needed someplace to sleep but where otherwise out most of our trip to North Bay

Our room was on the second floor in the middle of 2 blocks of rooms from a kids sports tournament. The hallway was very noisy when w checked in and the desk clerk was unable to move us to a quieter area on the main floor. If I’m paying the full price to stay at your hotel, I should know the conditions that I will face if I book with you. The morning breakfast room was also packed with families and kids from the tournament and there was no room to sit and eat.

Had to ask about rooms being cleaned or at least being tidied for a 3 night stay. I just assumed that they would be at some time during the duration of my stay. I wish they tell their customers that when they check in.
