The room floors are sloping and this causes the beds to slope to one side. It’s impossible to have a good night’s sleep as you slide while sleeping and constantly wake up.
Nice hotel, great location with easy transport and parking service.
Allowed us to book in early, friendly helpful frontdesk
This place is Fawlty Towers on steroids absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. A black eye to the town of Great
Thanks for the convenience, nice area of London, very close to Paddington Station to get there on the 15 min express train to the Heathrow airport departing every 15 min from the station.
Stay was ok, room in the basement, something that made a noise all night.
The smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in and dated. The wash basin was small enough to only fit 1 hand in and no hot water. The ‘lower ground’ room I stayed in was in the basement, next to a plant room and a boiler outside the window. The continental breakfast is boxed cereals, knock off french pastries, cold meat left out under cling film and undrinkable orange juice Best part was that the hotel is right on top of the Central tube line, which runs every 15mins 24 hours a day! Literally no sleep! DO NOT BOOK
The room was clean but very very small. They must have used a wide angle lense. Three steps and theres the bed. Tiny bathroom Fine if all you need it for is to sleep. The lift wasn't working so had to carry our bags up 5 flights of a narrow staircase and never was offered by staff to help. The woman at breakfast was lovely. Kept everything well stocked and tidy. Simple breakfast but fresh . Overall clean, tiny and definitely overpriced
Not much
As the lift was not yet in service, I found the stairs tiring but not a problem. Perhaps at breakfast, large plates would be better to accommodate the meat, cheese, toast etc. Food was good and the assistant was helpful.
I like everything. Not to complain
Hotel was nice but breakfast was very limited for the price we paid per night. Also refused to provide milk for baby which was very uncomfortable
Good location. But this was closer to a hostel than a hotel. Beds were uncomfortable, elevator doesn't work and front desk staff were very unhelpful.
Great location
The elevator was not working and it was not mentioned on the booking or their website. I found out at checking that I was booked on the 4th floor and there was not an elevator available. There was not phone in the room to call the reception desk, the air conditioner has a loud noise while working.
The hotel has no elevator. We were on the 6th floor and had to tote our bags up rickety unsafe stairs. It wasn't that the lift was broken, it just did not exist. Mobility impaired people cannot stay here.
Great place for tube and short walk to marble arch and Hyde park ,BUT no lift and 5 floors sucked to get up on steep stairs . Coffee etc wasn't replenished and unfortunately the breakfast is only continual in a very small room
We stayed here for 3 nights as it is a great location for going to the Royal Albert Hall which is just across the park. There was some property maintenance going on at the time but it did not interfere with our stay but we have scored slightly lower because of this. Queensway Tube is around the corner so getting around was easy, we discovered the local area and found lots of bars and restaurants. The breakfast is basic continental but plenty to choose from. For 3 nights our room was clean and cleaned daily but was a tad too small for us as we didn't really have anywhere for a bags and some clothes. For what we paid we have no complaints.
Worth the price
Small hotel, tiny room and bathroom. Clean beds and silent room.
Staff are nice. Location for me was perfect. If you have a room on the top floor be prepared to scale a steep staircase. The breakfast was basic and the hair dryer was broken. Shame because I was soaked after a day of rain. I might consider returning because the location (edge of Hyde Park) is so good.
Great location
Very well located well placed hotel. 5 mins from queensway. Beds very comfy but room was a bit tired looking with some damp spots. Overall good experience would stay again.
It had everything I needed for my overnight stay in London. The staff were helpful, the room small but comfortable and adequate, the breakfast was plentiful with a good selection.
New Elevator means no elevator.
The hotel webpage said " Installing new elevator". As a native English speaker, I interpreted this to mean a second elevator. I read a review to learn there was no elevator. I have an ankle injury and pleaded with management to put me on ground floor. The reception attendant was rude and smug telling me that I should have read the fine print before booking. He put me on first floor, with 1.5 flights of stairs. I asked every night to change my room to ground floor should there be a vacancy. Deaf ears. I saw one of the rooms turn over. Another complaint was the AC in the room. It was noisey and difficult to set. Either too hot or too cold. The bathroom was small. The sink had no top for toiletries. There was no towel rack. The breakfast was just snacks and the eating room cramped and not well laid out. Too many elbows trying to get to the food. I would not recommend. There are other hotels in the area with elevators, better food, working ACs, and decent bathrooms.
No elevator - was a challenge to drag luggage up 4 flights of stairs
Great location and great breakfast offered
After long flight from Australia, they gave us check in at 10am which was handy. Room was very small but did the job. Elevator out of service so walking up 4 levels of stairs with our 3 kids with bags was hard work. Great location, close to metro station and plenty of restaurants and bars around. Excellent breakfast offered and staff were friendly and helpful.
Disaster
this hotel did not have a working Elevator . we had to carry 2bags of 23 kg each and our hand luggage up to the 06th floor and back . the steps were getting steeper and narrower as u climb up . hotel staff did not help at all . actually we did not see any staff other than 01 person at front office who suggested we could leave our bags in the breakfast area if we wish . worst hotel stay ever..
Mala atención del personal, sin ascensor y pequeña
Excellent location. Great staff. The only downside was no elevator.
Staff was humble and helpful. Comfortable stay.
terrible customer service
Did not mention that elevator was not working, gave us a 5th floor and NOBODY help carry my bags upstais, also someone open the door when the DO NOT DISTURB sign was placed on the outside door and saw me naked
Next to Hyde Park and Notting Hill, far from center theaters 90 mns walking. Rooms VERY small. bathroom for one person at the time. Booking with Voyages Air Canada very expensive, would have been much cheaper by ourselves. People talk in the evening in the street, had to close the windows.
I stayed at the uppermost floor, the 5th floor, and the lift is not functioning! Not to mention that going to the room feels like you are on a maze! Imagine a traveller with a suitcase and a heavy backpack. Not recommending this place.
The staff is incredibly rude. There was no lift. The staff didn't want to help with carrying our luggage. The hotel ad on expedia does not mention that the lifts are broken and that renovation to the paint is going on. It does not mention the room size. Rooms were tiny. The refund policy is not up to date either and we were forced to pay for the day despite arriving well in advance of the check-in time. Would never recommend for poor service. Only mistake we made was not looking at the other reviews of this shabby "hotel". Quite a few similar complaints by others.
Good location, room clealiness and overall hotel condtion was good, staff was kind, good breakfast
Room was very small. Water pressure was horrible.
HAS NO ELEVATOR! Stairs are narrow and steep, it was so dangerous to lug luggage up and down 5 flights of stairs. Plenty of staff around and no one will help you. This is only mentioned very low on the booking page. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Room was tiny, pretty much the size of the bed. I have stayed at way better places in the area for what I paid here.
The property was not even up to code. The elevator did not work and things like vacuums and garbage bags were left in the hallway. Will not recommend and not stay there again.
Lovely air-conditioned room, very comfortable bed, powerful shower, safe, hair dryer and beverages in room. Perfect for a night's getaway. Only problem was that the lift was out of order.
Not cheap but cheerful
I had a very small‘double’ room in the basement, down one flight of stairs. The hotel acknowledged my request to avoid too many stairs and the alternative would have been a similar room on 6th floor (no lift). It was quiet, clean and with excellent air con. Fine for two nights and one person but tricky for two as bed pushed up against a wall. Very convenient for central London by bus or tube and close by Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace. Bathroom good and shower effective. Breakfast rather basic but adequate in a tiny space. It was the best I could find with one week’s notice at under £140 a night with good quick access to central London
The hotel provided the minimum required level of service and facilities. The room was very small, air conditioning produced a constant clicking sound, the tv remote only partially worked. There was only stair access, The carpets were stained and the hotel was in a semi refurbished state. On a better note: We arrived before the required check in time and was provided a available room, location was good and breakfast was also adequate. The lady that serviced the breakfast area was very kind and attentive and the most genuine staff member that we experienced. Unlikely to return
Great staff, perfect location, very clean, and bedroom cleaned even when staying 2 nights. Would stay again
Great place at good price
Excellent
The hotel does not have a working elevator at the moment. My room was on the 4th floor and it was pretty frustrating that we had not being told about the fact. I was traveling alone, my room was on the 4th floor. Not much fun to carry heavy luggage all the wait up on the small staircase.
No workable elevator in this hotel. Our room was on the 6th floor. Two 65 people carrying our luggage up 6 flights nearly killed us. We were told this after we paid for the room. We would have gone somewhere else if we knew this before we paid. The clerk said it was on their website. Check the fine print to see this! Room was very small, but it had been recently renovated. Stairway carpets ( all 6 flights are old and stained.
I really liked the location of the property to many of the attractions I was looking to visit as well as proximity of the Underground. Coming from the US, was not aware of the slot by the door to put the room key to activate the electricity for the room. No one told me. I was not a fan of the size of the room, VERY small, very little storage. I hung a few clothes and the rest were put over the desk chair. I had to shuffle sideways down the bed if I wanted to get in the side or just crawl from the foot. Same with the bathroom, I literally had to straddle the toilet when I sat down because my knees went in to the wall. The free continental breakfast left much to be desired. Toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee, tea..that was it.
Great location, mediocre hotel
Great location, BUT...Broken elevator, stuffy room, extremely cramped. I wouldn't recommend the small room unless you're traveling alone and even then it's a stretch. Free breakfast was decent.
The property may need some renovation, but the location is excellent and the staff were all wonderful, especially Joseph, the receptionist who checked me in and was very helpful all the way through.
Very central, good breakfast,
Property close to tube
Room on 5th floor and no working lift without prior notice. This was clearly not just happened but had been for a while. The hotel is unde some repairs or modifications and looks right shabby. Will not be back.
Convenient location. Recently renovated. You get what you pay for, not too shabby.
The room was very small and the bathroom was tiny but they were fairly clean. The elevator didn't work and we had to fly 4 floors every time we'd come back to our room. Walls are so thin we could hear the room next door's resident's phone notifications on vibration mode!!! Also we could clearly hear people talking in the street! So sleeping was challenging for us. The safe box accidentally got locked and we asked the staff twice to help us reset the code, they never showed up, both times they said after they are done with paperwork they will get it fixed!
Basement room at basement price in Central London
The reception and check in was pleasant on New Year's Eve. We were assigned a basement level room. The lift was out of working order. The entire hotel is carpeted. The room is also carpeted and not a good fit for anyone with allergies to mold and mildew. The building and rooms need updated repairs.
Room and bed small size No elevator
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The property was great value and perfect location when visiting London.
Staff were very friendly. Basic but CLEAN! Beds comfortable, stayed in a triple room, no view but we were out a lot. Area is great. Would stay again.
The elevator was down, the room was clean but very small and out dated. The front desk staff were very friendly.
Great stay
The hotel was good and well located. One tram took you right to the center of the city. The breakfast was also great. The beds were a bit hard though.
A bit tired
It was fine but the lift was out of order and we were on the 5th floor - our sink plug was also broken
Decent but not great
Only thing going for this hotel is the location. It’s walking distance from Queensway Subway station and next to Hyde Park. Other than that, rooms and restrooms are very tiny. The pictures of the rooms on Hotels.col are misleading about the size of rooms. Other than that it seems like the hotel got refurnished, except for the elevator which was broken. There is no concierge to take your bags to your room, hence you must carry them to top floors and bring them down upon checkout; definitely tiring and a hassle. If size does not matter then I definitely recommend this hotel. For the price you won’t find something this close to hyde park I guess and a few train stations away from the shopping hotspots of oxford street.
Location is great and service was fantastic! Bang for the buck and would definitely stay again.
The room was clean with comfortable amenities for a night.’
Average
The only lift was ‘temporarily’ out of service (19/11/22) and my room was on the 5th floor! The stairs are also very crooked! Fine for me, but could be a big issue for others. The and bathroom were clean, but there did seem to be a bit of a smell, not sure if it was damp, old carpets, or something else. Did the job, but not for honeymooners…in my opinion!
The rooms are tiny, not very clean, bathroom have no shampoo, no hand soap. The room is very dark. There internet was slow that a turtle could walk faster, that is if the internet was working 9 out 10 times the internet was not working. Breakfast they do not have a kitchen on the property their breakfast was so called continental. Dont have many options to eat. Can't even get a coke or a sprite. This hotel was horrible in every sense better to stay away. The money they charge it was not worth it.
No lift and 80 stairs to climb to fifth floor, impossible to do this safely carrying 48lb suitcase and hand luggage. No attempt to accommodate needs. Not the Comfort Inn you would expect
Clearness convenient area excellent transport in the area. Overall...Excellent!!
Great location, walkable from Paddington Station, tube stop, and Hop-on-Hop-off bus. Clean and nice staff. The lift was out of order, seems to always be that way based on past reviews. I wouldn’t recommend a stay for someone with mobility issues.
Stay away from this place. Website doesn’t represent the poor quality of this place. No one at front desk to greet me. Ten minutes later he shows up. The elevator had been broken “for about three weeks” and my room was on the fifth floor. I asked for help taking my bags up the narrow winding stairs to the fifth floor, but manager said he wasn’t allowed to help me. My room is five feet wide. Ugh.
Six flights of stairs
We booked a small room for a one night stay in London. Very cosy, bed against the wall and a sloping ceiling. Ensuite looked to be fairly new and functioned properly. When we booked we were advised the lift wasn't working, it still wasn't when we arrived, but therexwere aplogetic notices. Six flights of stairs was no fun. Being on the sixth floor we would still have had on flight with our bags. Breakfast is in a tiny dining room at Ground floor level, very basic and no hot food.
We booked Comfort Inn because of the location, being next to Hyde Park. Everything is squeezed for utilization of space. The room had what we thought was a double bed but it felt like a twin (probably an English double). Breakfast was included and was good. The major problem we had was that the elevator was out of order and we had a third floor room.
Location was very convenient, the carpe was so dirty , our shower handle was broken and the safe box
Good location
Hotel just 5 minutes walk to central Line queensway station , very convenience.
Its in a good location away from the main street but close to tube stations. The room is good for an overnight stay, nothing amazing but the price of this hotel is really good for London. It is quite tight space wise though. Disappointing that the lift wasn't working and we were on the fifth floor!
Good location. Good staff. Area felt safe.
Tv didn’t work and service was appalling! Young people on reception with no back up managerial support at all and no power to do anything. Lift out of action.
Stayed in the basement.Room was quite small. No place to set anything.Outlets limited Carpet in hallways very dirty.Bathroom small.Lift didn’t work.Dated.Staff friendly.Breakfast was reasonable.
Lift out was very difficult to manage luggage. The only perk was the location.
Terrible staff service, no elevator. They dont even have the basic things a hotel should have. Never staying here again
Disappointing stay
Stay was not good! We had a room on the 6th floor and the lift was out of order so up and down the stairs was a pain. You would think they would get it fixed being as it was a bank holiday so expecting loads of customers. The hallways are very small and quite tight to walk through. The breakfast was also disappointing. I would not recommend staying here.
The property was a good 3 star bed and breakfast . The lift being out of order for years and us being on the 4th floor was awful !! But location wise is great !!
The unique was okay hat they did not clean for two days. We left some garbage by the side of the bed and found it under. No elevator, no refrigerator, no phone. Bed way too small for two. I had to sleep on the floor for two nights resulting in back pain. The room and bathroom were so small that made it imposible to relax. I spend the first night trying not to fall. My daughter spent hers trying to move me so she could get some room in the bed. None of us had a good nigh sleep, until l decided to sleep on the floor with some blanks. I would like to get a refund.
Comfort inn hyde park
Location was good, for price we paid it was a good spot to go elsewhere for a walk or to jump on the tube..
When we arrived we were told the elevator was not working and our room was on the 4th floor. We are both 76 years old . We did climb up and checked the room which was adequate but found the carpet on the stairs stained. Our friends were unable to climb the stairs as she had a previous stroke and was feeling ill. They went to hotel next door and found a room on main floor. We also went next door and booked a room as it was very difficult to climb 4 flights of stairs. We were told to contact Expedia since ee had booked rooms through them. The person at the front desk told us the elevator has been broken for 2 years. The next day we received email saying that the Comfort Inn would not rebate our money since their website had a no refund policy and they had it on their website that the lift was broken. I dont recall seeing any notice.
The elevator is not working the Capet is old and the house cleaning is not doing the good job of cleaning, But the staff in the front deck is help full the location is good near public transport and food Less than five minutes for everything
Not great
Hotel a little tired and breakfast is a joke
One night stay
We stayed for one night at this hotel for a Hyde Park Concert. The room was a little run down, but it was clean and functional. The room had all amenities that you would expect. We booked a standard room and the room was pretty small. The breakfast room if functional, but tiny and very tightly packed. It wasn’t a relaxing place to eat breakfast. The breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Continental only and all of the products available were passable. Warm fruit juice, sponges croissants and coffee that was ok ish.
The hotel is in an old building and needs updating. The rooms are fairly small and the and bathrooms tiny. The breakfast room is small and can be overrun in the morning. Breakfast is ok. The hotel sits directly above the Central Line Underground, so if you are in a basement room you will hear and feel the trains as they pass beneath you. The hotel location is very good, it is close to Hyde Park and Queensway Underground which makes it convenient to get to all the London sites. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were very nice and helpful. Also the London tour buses have a stop just around the corner from the hotel.
You get what you pay for I guess. Gavin’s says that it wasn’t that cheap at $175. Even by central London standards the room were very small and the bathroom was inhumanely micro small. Lift was not working. I’d strongly recommend spend the extra $50-$100 and stay elsewhere … I only chose that because it was a one night place to stay but will not be back again
Location was great. Room was tiny! Lift was broken, stairs terrible. Carpet not clean. Breakfast was good.
Location is great. Great breakfast. It was rather noisy. There was a lot of floor creaking that would not let me sleep. The surrounding area was noisy but it is expected being in a big city.
No where did it disclose the elevator was broken and we would have to carry out heavy bags up 4 flights of stairs. The room was dirty and and I when we finally got the air to work, it blew large dust chunks all over the room. The bathroom was not cleaned and still had a used bar of soap in the shower. Over all this room and as terrible as well as did not look anything like what it as advertised on the website.
I usually don’t review hotels but this hotel is not a great experience. Rooms are super small, bed was uncomfortable, staff was rude, elevator was not working and we didn’t have a tv remote. I feel like I paid too much for the room, one of the worst places I stayed in.
Ideal for family of 5
Very good location for getting around London and ideal room for family of 5 with minimilistoc needs Reception really helpful
Better in the area
Bathrooms tiny Noisy Some broken facilities
Ideal location for a short trip to see friends
Overall pleasing experience of the hotel, clean and lovely facilities, the shower was amazing after a long day out. Breakfast menu could do with some variety.
Great visit
Very nice staff, excellent breakfast selection, big comfy bed, large bathroom
The room floors slope to one side and this causes the beds to slope. You cannot get a good nights sleep because you slide while sleeping and constantly wake up.
