Quiet retreat with lovely balcony views

A lovely quiet spot - wish we had more than 1 night here. Spacious, modern motel-style room overlooking the pool, gardens and lake. We also loved the king size bed and roomy rain shower. The restaurant and bar onsite were a bonus.

Great value for money and an excellent location to explore the Clare Valley wine region. The room has been recently renovated and was very comfortable with everything you would need for your stay. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the onsite restaurant was fine if you are looking for dinner at the end of a long day exploring. The pool was also a nice touch and very clean.

Hidden gem

The Country Club is a little out of town so it was quiet and peaceful. Staff at checkin were friendly and helpful. Beautiful outlook onto the golf course. The food at the restaurant was very tasty however the service out of the kitchen (the restaurant was far from full) was very slow. Thankfully the outlook over the lake was lovely.

Beautiful setting and Courtyard Suite was lovely and spacious.

The only downside was the fact that the patio windows needed a good clean outside as did the frame and track. But the room was newly renovated and very clean.

Real life faulty towers experience

Where do I start. Couldn’t get the door to our room to open, were told we had to force the door as it has just been replaced. Hip and shoulder required to open the door. No milk in room, requested some and non arrived, their response, we forgot. Lots of very drunk and extremely noisy guests on premises. Room was nice and spacious, heating ineffective. Dining room food was very good, atmosphere ruined by intoxicated patrons.

Lovely property on the edge of town. Beautiful modern rooms. Cozy open fire in lounge and restaurant overlooks lake. All the facilities you would expect from a Country Club. Do yourself a favour and book the buffet breakfast. Best scrambled eggs.

Recently renovated room was very nice. Clean and very quiet. Service was quick and efficient.

Below par experience set on a golf course

Booked a golf course view room for a wedding anniversary getaway. We were expecting a much more luxurious and special experience from a "country club" at this price point. On the plus side the room was comfortable, new(ish) and well equipped. However as a getaway experience it was severely lacking: - Not one painting or artwork in the room. Very bland and boring presentation. - Course view is a misnomer - all you could see was a grass berm right outside the window obstructing any real view of the golf course. - Room cleanliness was lacking, with cobwebs containing dead insects in at least 3 corners of the room's ceiling. - Exhaust grill in bathroom filthy. Don't the cleaners ever look up?. - A pervading smell like sweaty feet that had to be aired out. - On site restaurant not open that night (or most other nights as it turns out). It was so uninspiring that we decide to return to Adelaide instead of spending the night there.

Stay was comfortable, was upgraded free to a better room by the front desk. Overall a great place to stay at.

Rooms are clean and fantastic - renovated recently and comfy beds and pillows Pool was great, although some more chairs and shaded areas would be good during hot weather. Will stay again!

Misrepresented as having a hot tub, it does not, apparently once did but not anytime recently.

Loved the view from our room of the lake. Sunrise was nice to watch over it.

Well presented and comfortable

Room was clean, tidy, recently renovated. Arrived early and our room was ready. Only really minor comment: Area outside our balcony could have been planted out. So wasn’t really attractive to sit there.

Didn’t get any VIP treatment at all. That way it is extremely shabby in approach.

I have stayed at this Country club on several occasions and have always been satisfied but this last stay showed a complete lack of cleanliness around the ground floor waterfront rooms. Completely covered in Duck, Pidgeon and Crow crap. I had to use half a roll of paper towel (mine) to clean the outside table and chairs before my wife and I could use them. The interior of the room was very nice but no spare toilet tissue only a small part roll left. The towels and bedding were good. The restaurant does do room service but on this occasion the were too busy to attend to our requirements . We chose to cancel a 7.30 table sitting that we had due to the late time as we were there for work and not leisure time. And at almost $300 dollars you could expect a little more service and another roll of toilet paper. Having said this I would stay again but choose my accomodation wisely. And make allowance to dine out at one of Clare,s pubs.

Clare Country Hotel

Nice location away from centre of town and you’d expect it to be quiet at night but when neighbouring guests use AC at night it is very loud when trying to sleep. Even though I had a dinner reservation in the restaurant, the staff seemed surprised I had a booking. They were pre-occupied with a coach group of guests. Part of my meal was delivered to the wrong table.

Room was great, just noisey could hear people in the family room next to us at 6am in the morning banging doors and talking among themselves, playing music

The accommodation was modern, tidy and neat. The restaurant was very close and served high quality food. Also close walking distance to park. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will be going back again.

It’s such a quiet and beautiful resort for any occasion. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast is great.

Peaceful stay

What an amazing long weekend, Clare Valley Country Club studios are so peaceful, quiet and scenic. The bed was really comfy, the shower was powerful and hot. Only downfall was no daily housekeeping but we managed to make our own bed easily!!!

The two bedroom apartment is absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be staying there again. Everything was done up in such a lovely modern way with all the amenities you could ever ask for. They have thought of everything, nothing is missing, everything is there for a very comfortable stay in a stunning location. Would highly recommend.

Able to look out of the doors to a beautiful vista. Staff very friendly and could not go any further out of their way to assist. We ate at a recommended lunch venue (Mr Mick's) which was very good indeed, and had the buffet brekky. A beautiful part of South Aus..

Great stay

The room was great, very clean and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable which is important to me.

The rooms were nice they only thing that was a little disappointing was the beef tenderloin. While the small piece of beef was cooked ok it’s sides were very average 1 small potato and 2 head pieces of broccoli was terrible. Lucky I filled up on the garlic bread and my daughters spaghetti as it was tiny. You definitely need to add more sides to make it a meal. Not just a piece of meat on a plate.

A great setting and a relaxed place to stay.

My recent stay at Clare Country Club was enjoyable overall. The hotel is located in a beautiful setting with lovely views of the surroundings. The rooms were comfortable and provided a relaxing stay. While the breakfast was good, I found it to be decent but not exceptional. However, the friendly atmosphere and pleasant surroundings made up for it. If you're looking for a tranquil escape with a decent breakfast, Clare Country Club could be a suitable choice

Nice property. Rooms were nice and big, clean and renovated including a nice bathroom. A plus to have an extra few amenities like tennis court. Breakfast in the morning was good. A few minutes drive to town

The restaurant was expensive and the food wasn't that good. The steaks at $42 were thin and were served medium to well-done rather than medium-rare. The waitress behind the bar was a little arrogant and tipped some over-bubbly champagne down the drain rather than give it to us when we asked. The bar ran out of bubbly when we wanted to order a second bottle. The rooms were quite good though.

Nice property, reasonably priced. Buffet breakfast was amazing, food was all fresh and local. The only downside was the toilet in our room had a surprise left in it. Poor form on the cleaners behalf. Otherwise would stay again.

Showers took 8 mins to come hot each time which is a waste of water and our time. the grounds and area around the unit was quiet dirty with lots of spider webs. There was a constant sewage smell around our unit and the grounds

An interesting stay

It was better than I had expected, definitely some outdated facilities but okay overall. I was left disappointed with the service though, I was charged incorrectly ahead of check in which I didn't give permission for and there was a horrid smell entering the rooms one night. Almost like the sewer was blocked - quite bad and no explanation or offer to help.

Comfortable bed. Classy and tastefully renovated bathroom. View outside room was of sewerage sumps and a bit of the lake. Some parts of the property looking a bit tired (tennis court and pool) and dates (restaurant).

Staff were exceptional- especially in evening dining experience. Friendly, competent, Informative and fun!

Clean n tidy

The newly refurbished Courtyard Suit room was lovely, which was the main reason we chose to stay here and the staff and service were excellent - that is unfortunately where the good ends. The rest of the site is dated and could do with renovation. The biggest let down for us was the buffet breakfast at a cost of $70 for 2 of us bordered on inedible, certainly was not a nice way to end the stay - we ended up leaving at getting breakfast elsewhere - The coffee machine was also not available. The photos on Clare CC are very misleading, there is no pool table in the bar and overall lacked atmosphere. Conner Restaurant missed the mark and was certainly not worth the prices paid. The pool area was full of empty alcohol bottles and rubbish. The hotel could do with sorting out the pigeon problem as they are living under solar panel on every roof. Would like to see what it is like once fully renovated - but it feels as though they are surviving on past success by displaying awards from the 90s.

No blockout curtains 5L bin for a family of 4 No utensils for bbq BYO oil. Exchange a marble top for a Nespresso coffee machine. No place to hang clothes or dryer Maybe a sting in bathroom

Conveniently located, especially when travelling with kids. The hotel was under renovation so it was a bit clunky (with skip bins and all..). But should be fine once done. Can recommend this place.
