Stunning Hotel & Views - Reasonable Rates
Beautiful hotel. Clean, customer friendly and gorgeous view of the Rock. Highly recommend!
Great place….lovely bar and rooftop dining. Clean and comfortable
Great location - temperature control terrible!
Great location and the room was lovely. There was an air conditioning keypad on the wall which made us assume the temperature could be controlled by us, however no matter what we did the room just kept getting hotter and hotter. It seems that the temperature control is for all the rooms on each floor and the staff could either turn it off or turn it on! Or at least that was what they told me. We went in November so I can't even imagine what it is like in the height of summer. I was also told to shut the curtains to stop the sun coming in and leave the window open. The window only opened by 3 inches maximum
Location and view
The location is perfect, walkable to the major sightseeing spots. Good value to the price. The staff is friendly. Will recommend to everyone.
Most amazing view that I have ever had from a hotel room. Room 506 is small, but you can look at the acropolis.
Hotel in Plaka
Centrally located in Plaka area, nice room recently renovated. The only downside is that during my stay of 4 nights no change of towels and no cleaning of the room, only the bed was redone.
The staff was good, location perfect but the room design missed the essentials. 1. Safe located so you must lay on the floor on your side to use. 2. No clothes storage whatsoever 3. No work area with chair. 4. No telephone to front desk 5. No counter space for items in room or bathroon. Divan handy for suitcases. Bedside tables non existant. Sharp wood corners on bed drew blood as they projected unseen from bed. BIG step up into bathroon without visual strip to see. AC non functional. Darkening blind could not be adjusted. Excellent restaurant on 6th floor. Staff did allow free breakfast and grateful for that.
Rooms are poorly set up. Step off bedroom area then step up to bathroom. No towel racks in bathroom. Smaller rooms had no closet limited clothing rack, very basic accommodations. Metropolis view room was looking at side of the building next door. Staff were friendly and tried to be accommodating. Restaurant upstairs is very good.
Great Athens location
This hotel is very quaint. The room was small but nicely decorated, clean, with a comfy bed. Only complaint was that you could hear all the noise around you. The hotel is nestled on a fabulous location; we were able to easily walk everywhere we wanted to go. Close to restaurants, the acropolis and other major sites. We also loved the rooftop bar, great views, drinks, and staff. Marie at the front desk was kind, helpful and knowledgeable.
Overall this is a nice property, but need to clarify to put “do not disturb” protocols when you don’t want your room serviced. Good location as well but it’s on one of the most busiest streets which means there will be traffic
In a perfect location right downtown. Shopping dinning everywhere. Great rooftop patio.
Very well located, comfortable , nice staff Walking distance to everything . 100% recommended
Great property beautiful roof top patio
Enisa was so wonderful and very informative and pleasant to deal with . All 12 of our group praise her highly. We wish there had been a common area so our group could get together, especially some outside benches because there are not balconies. We loved the location it was perfect
The ubication is very good
The hotel is close to the Parthenon, Museum, Monasteraki, But it would be nice if the check in time is earlier not at 3:00 PM.
Loved the location of this hotel and staff. Overall great experience, thank you!
Overall great stay. Easy to walk around and rooftop restaurant is fab. Room layout is a bit tight though
The staff is really kind and helpful.
The roof top terrace is the top feature of this hotel. I found the sheets and pillows could have been cleaned better and also the room overall. The room was spacious, overall good stay.
This property would have received a five star if they’d given me the room I paid for. I paid extra for a superior room with a city view. Our view was of the alleyway.
Great location in center of Athens and clean
Great location in Plaka, it has a great rooftop with an amazing view of the Acropolis. The room was clean, with good space and a comfortable bed.
It was great
Amazing view from our room, very accomodating and friendly staff. Only downfall was the shower as water would pool and overflow a little.
Great spot!
The hotel rooms are spacious and clean. The top roof view is beautiful and fun at night.
I had an absolutely wonderful stay. Amazing staff an amazing room. I am so happy I found this hotel and I will definitely be recommending to all my friends and family. The rooftop bar is an absolutely must!
The room we stayed in was very modern and spacious. The receptionist was very helpful. Best part of this hotel is the location. The rooftop is beautiful with an amazing view of the acropolis great drink choices and very good food. Would totally stay there on my next Athens trip!
Great location and amazing hotel! Would stay again
Location was very close to dinning, shopping, metro, walking distance to Acropolis. Cons: Hotel doesn’t have room telephone to contact reception, no remote control for TV, and the shower system is horrible, water splashing all over the bathroom.
One night stay
Very clean and comfortable for the location, however, small spaces and tiny elevator during busy season required us to carry our heavy luggage down staircase. Also, storage for luggage was not available as promised before we arrived.
Great location, clean modern room.. New elevator going in which will help! Great roof patio.. Would stay again.
Staff was very polite and accommodating.
This is my third stay at Ciel. I must admit I am very disappointed this year. I travelled with my 2 children for 6 nights. After the check-in we went to our room, 5th floor, the card/keys didn’t work. Had to go back down and have the card activated. Wi-fi password didn’t work also. The third night the A/C didn’t work, it was 27.6° in the room. I went in the morning to let the receptionist know, she came on the 5th floor, opened the door to the linen/control room and reset the A/C. And she said smiling in 10 min you will be ok. The reception desk is closed at night and we had a horrible night! I asked for a discount and to speak to management about this, never happened!! The 5th night when we got back to our room, the card/keys to the room didn’t work again. Had to go back down and have them activated again. I asked to speak to management about all these inconvenience, never happened. No manager available or present, I was told they would contact me, never did. There is construction just below in the same building, it was pretty noisy but that alone would not of been an issue. The elevator that holds 4 people at the time was almost never available du to people using it to go to the roof top bar or restaurant. No priority for clients renting rooms with their suitcases.
This place is great! In the heart of Plaka… so convenient. Nice, clean and has an awesome rooftop bar/restaurant. (But it really was a little cramped…. Even the elevator… we could barely all fit in it with our luggage. I think it was part of the experience though. We had a great time!)
Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. No complaints. The only thing I would mention is that we stayed on the fourth floor and on the sixth floor is the rooftop patio that had loud music into the night while we were trying to sleep.
Everything was great
I write this with mixed emotions so I will list our pros and cons. Pros- Very friendly staff Nice clean rooms(we were in a new one) HUGE bathroom and shower Very nice bed Plenty of plugs Nice tv Good fridge Great restaurant Nice AC Cons VERY noisy and not just from construction Elevator very small and hard to get anyone and luggage in Scents they pump into common spaces are super over powering
Location is best. It is walkable to shopping and the best restaurant in this area.
Central to everything.
Major renovation in progress. Our room was newly completed. It was very nice. One of the bigger rooms. The hotel has a restaurant and one of the most happening rooftop bars in the area. With the best view of the Acropolis. And great food. Central to Old Town, Plaka, food; shopping, fun.
Perfect location. Not friendly staff. The construction is right outside of my door and no inner lock.Super noisy as the public stairs right outside of my door as well. People come and go until midnight and you can hear everything. I asked to change room but got dirty look and “nothing I can do for you” Very poor service. The reception staff is not always there.
Nice
A great place to stay in the Monastiraki area. Very standard rooms, but in a great location! The rooftop restaurant/bar was also wonderful.
Perfect Plaka location
Location of this hotel was perfect near the heart of Plaka. There was one minor issue with the shower but front desk staff immediately fixed it. Overall great place to stay.
Hotel Ciel Living Athens was a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Athens. The location was perfect - walking distance to all sights (Acropolis, Plaka, etc.). The rooftop bar had a nice view of the Acropolis. The rooms were clean, modern, and spacious for 2 people (but no place to put clothing (drawers, hangers, shelves). The reception area is quite small especially due to luggage being stored there awaiting check in/out. Renovations were underway so a bit messy in the common areas. There is a small elevator that operated well. The staff arranged airport transfers although we never found the one from the airport (not an issue - plenty of taxis). Ciel was reasonably priced for the value offered. If you are looking for value & location - this is the place!
This is a terrible hotel and I would suggest people to stay away from this place. They put my family in a room without AC and were gaslighting us saying that “it’s working…just wait…your monitor is wrong but ours is right” (even though our Ac monitor was showing the right temperature of the room and that the cold function was not working). When we urged the concierge (one person for the whole hotel) to ask if they can reset it, they reluctantly did it and it still didn't work. They refused to give us an alternate room or a refund, we couldn't even talk to a manager. Not to mention, they only have staff for the hotel till midnight, after that you are on your own till morning. The one elevator is cramped (could barely fit 2 bags with 2 guests), and that's if you can get an elevator as its shared with the rooftop restaurant there. I don't think this hotel should even be on Expedia, especially if they pride themselves on providing travelers quality options to stay at while traveling abroad. I'm just thankful it was one night, but would hate for anyone else to experience this trash hotel.
Conveniently located.
Great location! Staff not very helpful but besides this very good
Clean and safety
Night time was noisy, I could hear someone screaming.
Except for the front desk not being 24 hours it was fantastic I highly recommend. Just be aware if the fact front desk closes at midnight. Rooms are small but more than enough for two, three may be pushing it, but it’s bigger than a lot of hotels of the same price in Italy, France and England. I stayed at a Hilton in England after here and loved Ciel Living much better in terms of room size.
Amazing location and perfect size room for my family of 4. Shower was excellent also. The rooftop restaurant/bar had great food and nice views of the Acropolis.
Clean, Friendly, Good location.
Good location. Spacious room for 4 people. Friendly staff.
The hotel is in a great location. Is centrical to everything. And seems very safe. However the window of my room was outside a restirant that put nudic on the street until 12.30 so I was not able to sleep until that time. Also the cathedral is next door and the bells rang at night and early morning. The shower was not working and said they couldn’t do anythng because it was sunday. Iasked since day one to change my rrom they said it was full they could do it until sunday. So why bother just for 1 night
Excellent location and great roof top bar
Great location, room was nice and modern. Everything we needed for a short stay. It is in a noisy location and you can hear everything outside, however you are very central. The roof top bar and snack bar is a great place . The service wasn’t always amazing but the views made up for it
Perfect view from the roof too
Nice rooftop view but long wait for small elevator that could only fit 3-4 people. Modern room but lacking shelves or drawers
Very nice hotel in great location to walk to the Acropolis. Small grocery store right around the corner. Clean, modern room with great air conditioner.
Nice stay
Good hotel
Good hotel. Near restaurants and in a nice neighborhood. You have to visit the terrace.
Amazing experience
Gorgeous rooms. Very clean.
If you’re looking for a place to drop off your stuff and go, this is perfect. It’s situated in the heart of Plaka, steps away from Monastiraki Square. There’s a very popular rooftop restaurant at the top of the hotel, which is a perfect place to go when you’re meeting Athens for the first time. Rooms are clean and maintained daily. I think most have a view of the Acropolis, which is always cool. This was our first time in Athens and it was a great place to start.
Clean & perfect hotel
Our stay at Ciel was perfect! Very friendly staff & they brought our luggage right up to our room when it arrived late. Very clean and beautiful rooftop bar - perfect for our short stay in Athens!
Great place to stay!!! Loved it.
The location was perfect and the space was clean. The only issue we had was that there was no one at reception most of the time. We had to wait 30 minutes before someone showed up to the desk for check in and no one answered the phones.
Location is close to major landmarks and plenty of restaurants in few blocks. View from rooftop restaurant is one of the best. The rooms are small, will be ok if you have less luggage.
We had to wait a while to check in because the guy who works the check in counter went somewhere and didn’t leave a note or anything to say he’d be back. It was a bit confusing and felt out of place.
Very nice service. Rooftop bar/lounge/restaurant was an added bonus
Compared to last year we found it difficult to see someone at the reception at times. But overall it was just as an amazing stay! The location is perfect The room beautiful, very well decorated and clean.
Nice, clean and spacious room that is centrally located. It has a rooftop bar with a nice view of the Acropolis. The receptionist was nice and helpful.
Well-located, helpful staff, small rooms
Plusses: This hotel is incredibly well-located in Plaka. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar/restaurant is lovely with views of cathedral and acropolis. Rooms are very clean. Our room had a beautiful view of the cathedral and plaza. Minuses: Rooms are very small. Elevator is tiny, slow, scary (lights went out), and overused. Reception desk is not always staffed. Pro tip: manager's office is on the 5th floor. Food at rooftop cafe is average.
Great location and room. We loved the rooftop restaurant with a great view.
The property is so central and a convenient springboard for local attractions and eateries. A certain amount of noise at times, but to be expected in any city centre. Great sky bar above, and a great view from our room, which was very clean and a perfect size for two. Would recommend staying, if planning a trip.
Service was poor! I had to ask to get my room clean. Facility need improvement.
The small cafe just outside Ciel Living is really good with their foods.
Lift is too small and rigid.
Love it! Clean, economical, right in heart of all the things I wanted to see as a tourist. AMAZING rooftop patio with view of the acropolis
Monica at the front desk was very helpful at all times Thanks monica
Everything was perfect!! Loved the location!!
I really liked the roof top restaurant and the view
amazing location and fantastic rooftop. the room itself was clean but tiny, especially consdiering we booked a "triple suite," and i was very disappointed in the acropolis view, that was actually a direct view of a filthy side of an office building and then a sliver of the acropolis above. make sure you are on the 5th floor to to avoid this eyesore.
We really like this Hotel. It has great location, very convenient to walk to all major attractions in the center of the city. The roof top restaurant has very nice view of Acropolis. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.
Fantastic location in Athens. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only issue is the doors and hallway into the rooms are very loud from people coming back late at night. Other than that great stay for a night.
What a beautiful place to stay with excellent bar, restraint and staff.
Great staff
Nicely located
Perfect location and a roof top bar that has great reviews. I can’t say enough about how friendly and helpful the front staff were. Carried luggage multiple times up and down the stairs.
Very friendly staff and great location. Food is not good at this hotel. Room was clean although a little noisy at night.
Brilliant location / room / staff
4 minutes walk from Monstiraki Square and at the base of the famous “restaurant staircase” Ciel Living was just perfect. The room was gorgeous - modern, spacious and with a kettle & espresso machine (if you have stayed in Greece before you’ll know what treats these are). The rooftop bar/restaurant has amazing views of The Acropolis and all the staff are super friendly. Yes the lift is small, but no smaller than any other hotel in Athens. Reception manned and ready for your estimated arrival. We had no noise from the rooftop and just loved this place to spend our last night on an amazing Greek adventure. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you Ciel!
On of the the best hotel I ever stay in my life.also best room best customer service.the people how work in rooftop they are amazing and helpful.they mad my vacation more then I does
Hotel's location is perfect to visit almost all iconic sites and locations on foot without the need for public transport or taxis. To get access to Piraeus port (Greek island getaway) it is a 40 minute walk/train ride. We only had 3 nights in Athens so very happy with the location and got to walk everywhere. Rooftop has a nice view of Acropolis but so does several other spots in Athens, however the proximity to the hotel room is an added bonus after a full-on day and the cocktails (Aperol) were really refreshing. IMO city view room are not worth the extra price, our blinds were mostly shut due to privacy, but the money gets you a nice view of an old Church. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and the staff were pleasant to deal with. They arranged for Airport pick up and drop off at our own request for €45 and driver was very nice, and made the process easy. however I was told that a regular taxi from airport costs fixed price of €35. Personally I didn't mind paying extra as it saved the me the hassle of dealing with Taxi drivers specially after staying in Istanbul for few days. If you have mobility issues and can't walk up/down the stairs, note that the lifts may get busy. we're happy to walk up/down the stairs to our room on 3rd floor.
Our family had two rooms for three nights late July. The receptionist was AMAZING, even assisted us in finding medical care for our child who had an ear infection and needed to be seen. She took the time to call a clinic within a 5 minute walk of the hotel, had them ready and waiting for us. It was AMAZING. The rooms were large, clean, and well equipped. A FABULOUS location in central Plaka with shops and restaurants right outside your door. Small grocery store right near by as well. Extremely safe and secure, and NOT loud at all despite being in Plaka and having a roof top restaurant and bar. Food at restaurant was good. We wished it hadn't been 100 degrees during our stay so we could have enjoyed the roof top bar. Highly recommend. We will be back.
Staff very friendly and always looking for their customers
Safe and convenient to attractions. Staff available and helpful.
Great location. Nice rooftop bar.

Good and convenient hotel to everythings
Very convenient and walkable from Monastraki station just be careful of pickpockets… as my friend got his phone stolen while been approached by someone pretending to help with luggage .
