The tub was nasty

Great Stay

The stay was great. The hotel was well secured and very safe with security staff. All staff were friendly and very helpful. The only issue was the leaking cosset in the tub, which was minor compared to the great service.

Bed sheets don’t look like they had been washed because the bed was full of hair so I did not sleep on sheets

Amazing

Amazing, everyone is friendly and seem like they actually love their job. If you play poker they have poker tournaments (I don’t so I don’t know much about it) security is there at all times due to tournaments. They are very polite as well, love to crack jokes. The room was great. Hotel was great. Will definitely stay again.

There's no other place to stay in Houston. Great room, great poker room,great staff,great food.

Went into two rooms & they were dirty! Finally the third room was clean

The on-site security conducts thorough checks each time you enter, which feels intrusive for long-stat hotel guests. This hotel may not be ideal for business travelers, as the staff seems primarily focused on guests using the poker facilities on the first floor. Additionally, there were several maintenance issues with the room during the first two days of the stay.

It is an old property but it does not show it. Very nice renovation.

Worst Hotel

The elevator did not work, and the bathroom and shower had water problems. Water pooled in the shower, and dirty water from the drainage was coming up. I am glad we were only one night there.

Surprised that it was a poker club. Expedia needs to let people know that. There people who has gambling addiction or do not want to expose their children to gambling

Facility and inside the main floor is nice but the bathroom tub had mold around the tub and the tiles were painted, which were chipping. My tub was clogged. I was locked out of my room 3 times during my stay.

The front desk team provided excellent services and always very courteous. The security staff were excellent as well. Its is a poker club this higher security is required which I've taken as added security during my stay.

They make you go through a metal detector and have your bags inspected by armed guards each time you enter the building. Had to park on gravel because the small parking lot was full. TVs in the elevators were broken.

Our stay was great! Shelton was wonderful at the front desk. He was very accommodating and so was the other staff. 10 out of 10. Thank you!

Hubby and I enjoyed our stay and we will be back. This hotel is a gem. Super clean and staff is very very helpful

Wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel

It smelled dirty and the dining area wasn't represented accurately. Customer service was terrible. Hotels.com was not able to reach manager after many emails and phone calls.

We lost power around 11pm and there is no air flowing in the room. Around 2:35am in the morning, the power came back and lights woke me up. We didn’t really sleep at all

They should include breakfast in the stay

The hotel was very nice and modern. Our room had an off putting smell. We sprayed Lysol and room spray but that didn't change anything. It smelled of stale smoke which was a huge difference from what the halls smelled like. Also, for it to be a new hotel, that bathtub was lacking! It wasn't properly cleaned so we had to improvise. The water from the bathroom sink got hotter than the shower. I wiped everything down with Clorox wipes. The bathroom sink wasn't properly cleaned either. Overall the check in process was smooth, security was friendly, and the staff were accommodating! The bathroom would likely keep me from booking again.

No microwave

Located in a very nice part of town. Although it does suck to get searched every time you enter the property, I felt incredibly safe and the officers were all very chill. My only gripes are minor. I didn’t like the sinks as they splashed water everywhere likely due to the design. Also, we only had one mini trash can in the bathroom and never received one after requesting it. Again, pretty trivial. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and the price was reasonable. Would def recommend, especially if ur into poker.

Give them a raise

Was amazing had a good time . Security was awesome what a wonderful team. Front desk was great . I’m not sure the female name but it was the female that check me in when I first got there . She went above and beyond she’s great I love her personality. She made me feel like I was home .

A very good property for the price. They could use a fresher look in the rooms bathroom. The security is there because of the poker tournaments being played 24/7. But it is pretty innocuous. Everyone was pretty friendly.

Be prepared for a full search of all your belongings every single time you enter the hotel. They will literally go through everything you have on you, a huge invasion of privacy as this is a poker club facility. I would not recommend staying here unless you are here for poker.

Amazing great people great place . Best security i have ever encountered! Welcoming I decided to try every room so king suite first great size great price ! Then I upgraded to presidential suite greatttt price ! Huge! I want to spend a week there almost felt home! Day 3 I can only downgrade and there are only 2 rooms left to try I think . lol look for my next review they have a pool and room service I have to try :) Yummy !

Traffic to get there in the afternoon is horrible!!!

Best hotel

The place was clean, updated and convenient. A lot of places to eat near the hotel. Staff were so nice and friendly. Would recommend and will probably stay here again if we get the chance to visit Tx in the future.

It’s perfect here, love everything — the only thing… is that it seems that dogs are allowed. A barking dog in a room one of the days we stayed there and there’s nothing I hate more than exactly that.

Family Weekend Stay

Clean room and in the location very close to Chinatown and major highways.

The hotel room was very clean and modern. There was plenty of towels provided and the sheets were clean and soft. The main complaint was the parking. There was a poker tournament going on and the hotel expanded their parking lot into the grass in front of the hotel. So it was a bit of a walk and having to go over or around temporary barriers each time you had to go to the car. There was also construction going on at 8 am every morning on the first floor but it could be heard on the second floor as well.

Extra security and parking

The poker room was situated in the main lobby of the hotel. It was busy almost every night with poker games, which made Parking. Very frustrating for hotel guests. Each time you enter the hotel you had to go through security and baggage check was also a little annoying. However, on the flipside the extra security made One feel safer in the hotel property

As a female traveling alone, I prioritize safety in large cities. The Champion’s Club offered a secure hotel near the tollway with comfortable, clean furnishings. The property was quiet and staff was friendly and courteous. What a find at a value price point!

Nice place to stay

The place was a nice, the only drawbacks was the room is not set up for business/work but for people who are ion H-town for pleasure. The room also didn't have a microwave otherwise, it's a nice cool place to stay. I also have to give a shout to the front desk especially Paige and Shelton, they were excellent. By the way, the place has 24-hour security, so if safety is your concern, you will feel secure. All the staff were also friendly. A very welcoming place.

Not a great stay

Not great tv service didn’t work the entire stay, toilet ran after every flush I had to mess with the handle to get it to stop. Light over head by door did not work. I didn’t realize this was a poker room hotel. Having to go through a metal detector every time my family came in was dumb. Having to park in the extended parking lot that was away from the building because if VIP parking at parking from the poker games was ridiculous.

I wasn’t t expecting it to have people playing cards in the lobby. It should be advertised with this information.
