Not able to accommodate an unexpected change of plans which was understandable, however, the hosts then became very rude and was persistently rude the following morning when it was my husband's birthday. This was not the start to the day I hoped for.

Nice and cosy place, lots of communal space to relax and very friendly staff

It is a warm place to relax after a day on the snow. We liked the common areas with the fireplace and the billiard and the views from the upstairs terrace. Our room was good and the beds very comfy. That's all what you need after a long day on the mountains.

Very disappointed

Couldn’t come because of lockdown. No refund offered - not even partial refund. Perisher and Airbnb gave us full refunds but not these guys. They offered me one night stay in 84 days time which is of no use to me...very disappointed considering it is $368 for one night. 6*prices !

Wonderful spot to stay in Jindabyne. All amenities were provided and everything was clean and comfortable.

The Chalet Jindabyne is run by a lovely lady who was very friendly. We stayed on a couple of very hot days and with the chalet being more geared towards winter tourism, it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy in the rooms without aircon, the pedestal fan didn't really cut it when it comes to cooling things down. The whole place could use a bit of a facelift and is very worn and run down but it seemed mostly clean. One thing that isn't mentioned on Expedia is that it is forbidden to eat in your room. I've never seen a rule like that and wasn't really impressed because I could barely walk after hiking all day and didn't want to go out and sit in a common area to eat. The supplied breakfast was good and lifted my score from being 2 stars to 3. It kind of feels like you're paying for a motel but getting a hostel. I probably would look elsewhere next time.

Great value for money. It's not the Hilton, but it was great for somewhere to sleep, shower and stow the baggage while we were either skiing or at the pub having dinner. Pom is a great host and made us feel very welcome. Great for a laugh too! I'll be back!

- Handy location in Jindabyne. 10 min walk to restaurants. - Warm, clean rooms - Breakfast was a little lacklustre. For the price, some hot breakfast options would have been welcome.

Found the pool location and price very agreeable. Would have preferred a hot brekky, but at that price we didn't expect it. Overall we really got more than we paid for.

Great Ski Accommodation

We can recommend Chalet Jindabyne as very good value for money and a great place to stay in Jindabyne. Chalet Jindabyne is like an old-fashioned ski lodge on the mountain: small but warm and comfortable rooms (we had to share a bathroom), maybe not the most modern, but terrific owner and staff, a great breakfast included and we had a great time playing pool and sitting in one of the guest lounges reading at night and then watching the World Cup Final replay early the next morning!

Terrible and Rude Owner

The owner was rude and terrible accusing us of over crowding when we clarified our friends are just there to pick us up. There was no parking when we arrived and he did not care making us leave earlier than what we booked for! Do not book here! The room was smelly as crap and the owner was rude as crap too!!!

Good location

Compact room in ski lodge style accommodation, well located within walking distance to bowling club and shopping centre, drying room, communal dining/breakfast room well equipped. Property a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Room 1 just needed a few more hooks for towels and coats etc......!!

Was cold when arrived but eventually warmed up with heating put on. Cramped parking. Not enough blankets on the bed but was given more on request. Breakfast nice. Staff friendly.

Boarding House

Located outside village on steep road. Room was hot stuffy. Shower was a dribble. Noisy constantly with people coming and going. More like a back packers hostel that charges like a wounded bull

Great place for your next skiing trip.

The Hotel offers great facilities such a drying room, games room and Foxtel/Netflix in their lounge, which made life easy on our last family skiing trip. With breakfast include and the friendly staff, it was a pleasant place to stay.

Welcoming and friendly staff

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay, good value for the price. Location is good, just a short stroll to town for all the restaurants and shops. The only issue i have is the walls are thin, so you could hear next door playing music or someone coughs, but its like that with most places.

Over priced, thin walls and a broken tv

Punk beds were tapped together, stail breakfast, no music aloud, always watched by the owners, tv broken and thin walls. Over priced! Save your money and go else where

3 Night Stay

I only stayed for three nights but found the whole experience pleasant .

Warm & comfortable

Had a 1 night stay & was happy to be warm & have a comfortable bed & quiet room. Felt safe and relaxed. Breakfast next morning was great before a day at the snow.

1 star at best

Terrible the place broke every rule relating to wh&s and any Aussie standard for hotels. places like this should be visited by the Australian federal hotels association as they do not at all comply with current standards, disgraceful.

Handy Location

Handy location to both Perisher or Thredbo without the on snow price. Clean, tidy with comfortable beds. Three of us shared with own bathroom, room big enough for all our snow gear and us. Drying room available and breakfast provided.

We stay for 3 nights for the skiing. The room are clean and breakfast was good.

We stayed for one night on our way through. The owner and his family were lovely, and there was one common area with tea and coffee available, and another with a pool table, which was great. Breakfast was basic but enough. Continental only.

The Location was fine. But rude staff

Bathrooms are shared which was not noted on the site, the room was much smaller then first thought and the building has a feeling of being unfinished. The staff were extremely rude and uncooperative. I ended up moving to another place on the last night of my stay due to the staff. I will never recommend this place to anyone and will defiantly prompt people not to go here. Value for money was not there, As after moving and paying the same per night I got amazing facilities wonderful staff and a truly pleasant experience else where.

Chalet Jindabyne, warm & cozy

Pom and Ann were our hosts and provided a good stay in a comfortable warm room at Chalet Jindabyne. the Chalet is conveniently located, has a dry room and big bonus a superbly hot sauna. The beds were comfortable and lounge areas spacious. It was friendly and easy to spend the night after a hard days skiing. The breakfast was continental and was filling enought with good views of Lake Jindabyne from the deck. All in all a pleasant stay.

Great views of mountain

Had a great time nice and close to everything. But was not told that our Dar can't stay on the mountain which is a pain.

Perfect place to stay!

I stayed here with my partner and two kids and we had an absolutely wonderful time! Pom and his wife Ann were wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome...very kid friendly, super close to town and the rooms were warm and clean, the common areas are great. We hired some ski stuff which was great and super cheap, we really enjoyed our stay and the kids didn't want to leave! I would highly recommend the chalet and would definitely stay again...

Good value in the snow.

A very basic hotel in the snow which is pretty good value. We got a car park and a TV in our room, with own bathroom. The hotel is a bit tired but we were happy because it was relatively cheap!

The place is old run down and the rates are very expensive in comparison to what you can get in Jindy.

Pretty average

This is a very basic hotel. While the room was clean enough it was extremely basic, run down, old, and lacked a lot of amenities you would expect from a standard hotel (no tissues, no wash cloth for shower, no hand towel, no alarm clock - to name a few). Our bedside lamp had a broken bulb in it. Breakfast was the most basic of continental breakfasts - a few cereal selections, toast, cold hard boiled eggs, tinned peaches and a bowl of yogurt, tea + coffee, juice and water.. The main entrance of the hotel absolutely stank. We worked out it was an 'old fridge' smell - perhaps because the hotel had just reopened after the summer break and they were airing out their fridges. It wasn't very pleasant.
