Great location , very clean and property is well stocked . Very much enjoyed our stay
Lovely hotel
Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much.
This was a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed being able to walk every where. There were many restaurants and activities to do in the neighbourhood. The staff were very lovely. We were on the bottom floor, the room felt a bit damp and the bed was very firm. That being said, we would definitely stay here again on a different floor.
We had a great experience staying at Chalet. Everything was so convenient and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely comeback!
Friendly, helpful staff in a clean, safe, quiet building in a leafy, walkable neighborhood.
Beautiful old European style small hotel with very helpful proprieters.
The Chalet is lovely and charming! Marguerite greeted us warmly and gave us valuable recommendations for dinner. Her staff quickly suggested a bus station nearby so we could return to Puebla upon our departure. Coffee and pastries were available for breakfast. The place was quiet and just 3 blocks from Frida's Blue House. We loved staying there and highly recommend Chalet del Carmen. We will certainly stay there the next time we are in Mexico City. Very reasonable rates. Pamela & Curtis
Nice people, good location, cosy room
A lovely quiet place in a walkable, residential area. Very close to restaurants and the center of the beautiful historic Coyoacan
Beautiful place? Great location
Excellent location. Friendly and respectful staff.
Good location. Well kept facilities.
Lovely, in every way!
An absolute must-stay if you're looking for a beautiful, comfortable and perfectly located spot in Coyoacán. Located on a sleepy street, the Chalet has a lovely atrium central garden, and has incredibly helpful and friendly staff. There's a reason I've returned to stay here three times!
Very friendly staff - great room - great and safe location
Great place in a great location, and a very helpful staff.
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT STAY! Staff makes you feel like family. Hotel is intimate & you feel like you're staying with relatives. It is located in a quiet neighborhood. Doesn't look like a hotel from the outside. We were greeting by owner, very kind. Beware that you may have to climb stairs a few times to get to your room. But I would definitely stay here again. Everything was walking distance.
When I got there it felt as if I was coming home. They accommodated my room with an extra bed in the case my father who lives in Mexico D.F. wanted to stay. This was a result of a short conversation I had with Manuel, who owns Chalet del Carmen with his wife. Everyone is friendly and made me feel welcomed. Highly recommend staying here. The area is beautiful. Near restaurants and walking distance from the Frida Kahlo Museum. Overall, I love this place and will be back on my future visits to Mexico City.
Wonderful rooms, excellent location, attentive staff
Loved the staff, the personal attention, the cute room was perfect! I will certainly return. Thank you!
Friendly staff, small yet clean and lovely rooms, attention to detail and awesome location!
Will definitely stay again.
Excellent place to stay. Very accommodating (and apologetic for the disturbance due to building maintenance). Beautiful small garden and patio. Very quiet.
Good!
Very convenient and easy to check-in!
I love this place, but I booked and paid for 2 rooms, for myself and a colleague, and they automatically gave the best room to the man, and I am the woman, so I got the tiny room. And yet I paid for both. This bothers me,
Good location generally quiet pleasant staff
I enjoyed the interior courtyard a nice place to relax. There is also books available in the kitchen which I appreciated however the room was a bit small as was the bed (very hard with tiny pillows).
Neighborhood hotel near Frida Kahlo house
Nothing fancy but very clean with nice help, very clean room and bathroom. Nice inner courtyard for breakfast which is quite simple. This is a small hotel in a nice neighborhood. I had a headache and the desk clerk went to the store to get me some aspirin and bottled water. Really nice. Very sweet place.
Great location and wonderful staff.
Great location, quiet, cozy.
Our room was immaculate, made up daily, had a small fridge and a reliable, good hot shower. The water is treated so you can drink from the tap. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from first to last. The courtyard and grounds are serene and well-kept. The hotel is a 10-min walk from the main Jardin and center of town, maybe 15 from the nearest subway, a short walk to the Kahlo museum (buy tix online in advance!!), loads of restaurants, don't miss the Mercado, churches, etc. We walked to San Angel along Francisco Sosa- beautiful. And yes, the SA Sat market is worth it- don't miss the Diego Rivera & Frida Kahlo studios, but don't expect ANY Frida work there. It's a WONDERFUL neighborhood, by far our favorite place in our 3 week trip. Forget Condesa and Roma- stay here.
Great place. Lack of professionalism.
If you are looking to explore Coyoacan, this place is in a great location. The room is in a house that looks like it has been converted into a hotel, so it has a nice homy feeling. The grounds outside are very nice. They also did a great job with cleaning out room every day. I would have given this place very high ratings if it weren't for the last night we spent there. It was Christmas Eve and the hosts had a party at the hotel, right outside of our window, in the patio. The party must have gone on until 3AM. We were getting up early the next day and couldn't afford not to sleep but were kept up by the noise from party. We felt this was disappointing and very unprofessional considering we were customers paying for a place to rest. I do recommend the place but you might want to avoid it over the holidays if you want a peaceful place to rest.
Basic place to sleep.
This was a basic boutique hotel with only minimal features. Hard bed with 2 tiny pillows (said they couldn't provide more). We had to navigate 2 flights of steps (up/down) to get to our room. "Breakfast" was a bowl of cold croissants and another bowl of uncut apples/oranges. Coffee maker, but we were asked to wash our cup and put it back when finished. Close to Coyoacan, which is its main asset.
Great little gem
Lovely little hotel with a family feel. It was in a safe, quiet neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and cafés. Will stay there again.
Wonderful experience at Chalet del Carmen Coyocan
I was so happy with my stay at Chalet del Carmen. First of all, my plane arrived late so I was going to miss my entrance time for my visit to the Museum Frida Kahlo. Grace the receptionist called me on my phone and instructed me to come directly to the guesthouse, drop my bags, and she drove me to the museum just in time for my entrance time. I would not have been able to see the museum without her assistance. I was so happy and impressed with her assistance. After my museum visit, Grace gave me a couple of restaurant recommendations which were walkable from the guesthouse. Her English was impeccable. My room was huge, beautifully decorated and very clean with an excellent bed. My stay at Chalet del Carmen Coyoacan was exceptional and I would recommend to anyone to stay there!

I think I was the only person at the hotel when I stayed there. Therefore, it was quiet and private. I slept very well in the comfortable bed. I liked that it was as a fifteen minute walk to the Coyoacán metro station and about a six minute walk to the center of town. I felt safe walking to and from restaurants in the evening.
