Beautiful resort. Staff were so friendly and hardworking

Nice property, good views of the ocean and well maintained property

Lovely beach and snorkelling opportunities. Friendly staff but could do with better training (not consistent). Very child friendly. Decor quite dated but kept generally clean. Food quality requires improvement for 5-star rating (first time in Maldives so cannot say if this is resort-specific but don't expect Dubai 5-star hotel food).

Absolutely amazing, you need to stay in an overwater sunset villa w/ pool, this gets you exclusive club access basically to yourself and many other added benefits/perks and you must do all inclusive or the Grand all inclusive. Only complaint is my wife is the pickiest eater you'll meet so it took some adjustment to find meals she liked (even from the kids menu) but all restaurants were super accommodating in customizing her meal to anything she wanted and by day 2 we had her eating like a king.

This was our 2nd visit to this resort and won’t be our last.

We loved the property, we loved how friendly, helpful and nice the staff was. They took care of our villa like it was their own home and you never see this anywhere. What I didn't like was that they need to set up long chairs for the family villas, we requested and they set it up for us but we didn't realize we could request it until the last two days.

The complex was outstanding and the staff were so nice, they couldn’t do enough.

A wonderful holiday resort where we treated like royalty. Courteous friendly staff from cleaners to management. Couldn’t have asked for more as a way to celebrate 50 years of marriage.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the resort. It was very peaceful and beautiful. Everyone was welcoming and polite. Well organized and neat. The things I would suggest they improve on is their restaurant options, different food options each day, for those with longer stay-a trip to explore the city, and more nightlife/activities. Overall, it was an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful island hotel w gorgeous blue water, friendly staff, nice rooms, gym, beautiful views and more

We planned this to be our trip of a lifetime and it certainly lived up to the hype. Rooms are beautiful and private. Amanullah took care of us, bringing us buckets of ice, restocking the mini bar, cleaning the room, and leaving sweet touches daily. The ocean is teeming with life just steps from the door. We took several excursions to fish annd see whale sharks, both hugely successful, and snorkeled for hours along the house reef around the atoll. Food was impeccable and had a large variety. Hospitality everywhere-from food service to reception to spa staff-was incredible. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. Highly highly recommend.

We would just like to say a whole hearted thank you to all the team at Centara Grand for making our stay the most magical and memorable! This was our second visit after being there 8 years ago - we were so excited to return to our favourite place! The level of service was just as amazing as the first time and they were so accommodating in every way. A special shout out to Nabeel who made sure our stay was a smooth and enjoyable as possible and was always on hand with any queries we had. Islam our room cleaner also did a fantastic job and was extremely friendly. We got engaged the second night of our stay with a fantastic beach dinner and now we have memories for life. We can't wait to return in the not so distant future! Thanks so much again!

We had an amazing time at Centara Grand. The place is absolutely beautiful and the snorkeling straight out of the water villas is amazing. Food is super nice as well and the buffet restaurant was always varied so it never felt samey. All the staff was super friendly but we would like to thank in special Monir who would do our room and every day would leave a beautiful drawing made with sand or other natural materials on our villa floor.

Very nice place. High hospitality

Our stay at the Centara Grand was for our honeymoon and it couldn’t have went any better. From the staff, to waking up with the beautiful ocean view, we will cherish our memories. In our Deluxe Ocean view villa, we were left with beautiful surprises from Afsal in our room. He was a great help and always was available if we needed something. We dined often at the Azzuri Mare restaurant and the staff there was amazing. Sunny and chef Justin were so kind and made sure the food was exactly how we wanted it. We also had Tepenyaki one night and it was a great experience. The chef made it an entertaining experience for all those who ate there. The Reef restaurant had a plethora of food from different cuisines so there was something for everybody to enjoy. We really enjoyed trying other dishes! The staff even set up the Dreams cinema for myself and wife since we were not able to make the cinema night, and wow what a night to remember. I highly recommend staying at the Centara Grand resort for anybody looking to visit the Maldives and hope to return shortly!

Good

This is my second stay at Centara Grand and it was infinitely better than my first. The majority of the staff remembered me and treated me well. I was pleased with everything at Centara Geand! Mr. Hassan at Best Dives is the primary reason for my second visit. He has amazing patience and delivers superlative customer service.

I cannot begin to describe how amazing this place is. The property is stunning. I celebrated my 35th birthday here. The staff were truly exceptional. June, Senthil, Sathish, Habib, Shimol are just a few of the names that I can remember. The lady who runs the Thai restaurant, the front desk staff, the chef of the Thai restaurant and our room attendant also exceeded our expectations at every turn. The food was amazing. We snorkeled, took a Thai cooking class, took a mixology class, went fishing, dolphin cruised, had a wild and whacky experience on the fun toy, spent 2 days at the spa, and had a special lobster dinner. Everyone seemed happy and like they were dedicated to making our trip amazing. There are other things that really made this place a gem. Their commitment to sustainability was pronounced and as the climate changes, I felt proud to be at a place that makes this a priority. The meet and greet at the airport also made for a smooth travel experience. I highly recommend staying Centara Grand.

Me and my husband came here for our honeymoon, first time visiting Maldives and it was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. We will definitely be coming back again. Although we had some difficulties getting to our resort due to flight delays Anurag the reservation manager helped us out so much and made sure we got our full 7 night stay since we got their 2 days late. We were very grateful and blessed for him. Sunny the waiter at azzuri was so kind and sweet and me and my husband really bonded with him throughout our visit, Habib from the buffet and the chef that always made our eggs the way we like them were also very kind hearted and really everyone was great! Our room was absolutely beautiful, I wanted an over water villa with pool and I got one and I was satisfied. Food was delicious a little different then what me and husband are use to since we are from Texas but we expanded our taste buds. I will say I wish they had more restaurants because by day 5 we were pretty much tired of eating the same thing. The seaplane for me was not that great because I was very nauseous and hot since there’s no air conditioning but we managed. Thank you to everyone at Centara Resort for making it an amazing experience for us!!

The lagoon is amazing and great for swimming and Snorkelling. The property is very clean and well looked after. Excellent at catering for people with allergies. Good choice of drinks in all inclusive package..

remote, yet gorgeous and quiet island. What a beauty. Staff are from various Asian countries and all very nice. rebottled water is a problem for us, we had diarrhea the first night. there were no bottled waters at the island hotel, so we had to boil the water in our room to work around the water quality issue.

The finest Resort I have ever stayed . The staff are incredibly nice and compassionate.

Great stay for 2 nights. It did give me an eye-opening experience after I've been with so many resorts/hotels. The Family Overwater Villa is perfect, especially good for snorkeling with not only all kinds of fishes but also sea turtle and small tame sharks. Also, the receptionist Ms. Chanataphy (I could only remember the first few letters correctly) was very helpful, assisting us to take care of Covid testing, sunset fishing booking, and other time-senstitive stuffs for our short stay. If anything to improve, I'd say the online communication through email and their app can be more responsive. Overall, it's worth 9.4/10 rating!

Stunning resort and Absolutely first class service

The best thing living in the water villa is that the ocean is just a staircase away. 1, 2, 3, and there is the coral reef. Whole island is surrounded by corals of different colours. The water is not so deep but just as clear as possible to let you see all the living creatures. I was lucky to meet a giant turtle twice in front of my villa. And if you are still looking for something more exciting, join the excursions! The must-joins are whale sharks, colour sea turtles and reef mantas tours. We took 1.5 hours boat trip, and I was lucky enough to see the first two, thanks to the fabulously helpful coach @Choppi and @Saafai. Special thanks to Choppi for helping my mum in swimming and getting her squeezed in to see all the animals. @Sathish makes the best cocktail, including something warm to fill my Chinese stomach. @Sojib, @Green and @Santa at the Reef Restaurant also make a family trip completely worthy.

The services and staffs are incredible

All of the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They all really went above and beyond to create a one of a kind experience.

It has various activities and the Thai dining was excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves except for the high price of the activities such as semi-submarine and parasailing, etc I supposed it's the same in every part of Maldives. One area to highlight would be that staff can be more proactive and lookout for guests who do not put on their mask when they help themselves to the buffet. A staff should be on a lookout for such incidents. Overall it was one of our best trips ever. Will definitely be back again. Great job to the GM of Centara Grand and her excellent team!

Great place to stay

By far the best experience we've had for our first time resort! Everyone was kind and engaging. Staff always made sure you were well informed about different events happening and provide excellent service. I highly recommend this as a MUST stay.

Very clean, wonderful food and hospitality.

My wife and I celebrated 10 years of marriage by flying out to the Maldives! Our stay at the Centara Grand was perfect, the staff were friendly and the quality of food was out of this world but nothing beats the views and amazing clear blue sea water and white sandy beach! This was a dream destination and a holiday that we will never forget! We wish we could've stayed longer. Special thanks to Asim who welcomed us from the Seaplane and made sure we were fine throughout our stay at the resort.

We had the most wonderful stay here. Scenery was stunning and so relaxing. There was plenty to do if you want to but also absolutely fine just to chil in one of the many beautiful spots around the island. The crab racing is great fun. We also went to learn couples massage at the spa and my husband had a go at scuba diving. Staff were fantastic. Particularly Norbelyn who makes the most wonderful desserts, and we loved chatting to Happy in the restaurant. Also the guys in The Club made our last night super special. We can’t thank them all enough.

Most beautiful place I’ve been to so far. Service and staff 5 stars. Over water Villa with pool took our breath away. Stopped through Dubai and enjoyed the city. Sea plane service exceptionally planned out. Still on cloud nine!

A very wonderful experience. Fantastic atmosphere, great facility, excellent care, and the staff were very accommodating of every request. The natural environment was well cared for and protected. The over the water room with the pool was delightful and private - worth every Penny. We would also like to highlight the following staff for the superb service: Amanilla for the very attentive room cleaning and care; Jonathan as a very kind and funny wait staff at The Reef restaurant; The Doctor at the medical clinic graciously doing all of the PCR tests; And Patis and Pan who provided the best massage experience we have ever had!

Everything was great until my husband PCR come back positive. We still in quarantine. My recommendations don't travel to maldives yet.

The staff is not equipped to handle anything. The doctor on resort is not helpful. God forbid anything happens to u they will not be able to help

good place

We just completed today our amazing stay at Centara Grand and I highly recommended. It is truly a five star experience: Pros 1. The view is spectacular. The weather and water temperature was perfect. The resort is spotless and super clean. 2. The infinity pool has a tremendous view of the sea. Bar and buffet right next door. 3. Snorkeling - lots to see including turtles, baby sharks, and many other beautiful fish. All rooms are also equipped with life jackets . 4. Food - I chose the all inclusive option and was totally worth it for us . Food is fresh everyday and many options. I included few fotos. We like The Reef, Thai and Italian restaurant. 5. Service - the staff is super attentive, helpful and hospitable. Special shout out to Chandani Jayatillaka, Mitchell (supervisor), Faruk, and food servers Husain, Hunid and Nada! You made our trip an unforgettable one. 6. Spa - Totally worth it. The Maldives Massage was incredible! 7. Non motorized equipment was fun and safe to use. 8. Even though many of the rooms are occupied the resort felt like is was never crowded. Lots of space in the beach all around the island. 9. Room- we got the duplex and it was all worth it. The rooms were large and had all of the tolietries you need. Large umbrellas are also provided. 10. Excursions are provided for an additional price. Cons We only stayed for 9 days and wished we had stayed longer!

Staff extremely pleasant and nice to talk to. And the crew on the boat for checking whalesharks/etc did a fantastic job. Just everything was perfect including the facilities.

The food was amazing and had variety of dishes for each cuisine. For example, Indian food had rice, soups, vegetables and few entrees for the buffet each serving(breakfast, lunch, dinner). The staff was extremely nice and tentative to any needs.

Good property but bad management.

The property was good but they had no control or backup plan for bad weather and 17 of us were stranded at the sea plane airport for 8 hours with no food no plan to what will be the plan B .. we kept on contacting and telling them to give some alternate as we had 6 kids in the group from 3 years to 8 years and we all were stranded for more then 8 hours .. and finally at 9 pm they told look for ur stay tonight for all rooms with kids and rooms with no kids can be accommodated in their other hotel which has no children policy in the property. Next day after reaching the property they hadwere rude to the core GM dint even gave us appointment to meet us we booked 8 rooms for 4 days which is 30 nights and there was no facility given for upgrade or evn basic facility like baggi for kids ..

The ocean front over water villa was outstanding!!

Me and my wife came here for our honeymoon and it was just amazing. They helped us our wholes stay with anything we needed and it was just an overall beautiful experience. From the morning breakfast in the pool, to our romantic dinner on the beach. Also attention to detail, perfect.

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon at Centara Grand in the Maldives this past week. After almost 24 hours of travel, we arrive by seaplane to the island. We were welcomed by the entire staff, all with smiles on their faces. Within no time we were escorted to our room. We stayed in the Deluxe Over Water Villa and had the Ultimate All Inclusive Package. After settling in, I began to question our stay at Centara Grand because I did not fully understand their “Ultimate All Inclusive Package”, I assumed we would be able to eat and drink whatever we wanted, where ever we wanted. You get served 3 meals a day, and the rest is a la carte. Certain alcoholic beverages were not included in this package either. As I was unhappy, I contacted their customer service. This is when my new friend, Alok (executive housekeeper) came in and took over. We met at the lobby and went over everything that was included in our package. He took care of all of our reservations and appointments. From this point on, our honeymoon became exactly what we dreamed it would be. Alok is one of the friendliest and most accommodating people I have ever met in my life. He could work at any of the high end resorts in the Maldives. The food at all the restaurants was excellent. The couples massage was one of the best massages we have ever had. The only thing I wish we did sooner was upgrade to the Sunset Pool Villa. We want to thank the staff at Centara Grand for making our honeymoon so special!

A piece of heaven

This is an amazing resort. The rooms are excellent, the views are to die for, the staff is friendly and the food at the italian and thai restaurants are outstanding. There is a lot to do here as well and so suits everyone both you and old. The only caution is the flight connections to get here. Be sure you enquire about the connecting local flight timings and book your international flights accordingly. else you will wait at Male airport unendingly.

Wish we had stayed longer. we went through many reviews and did a lot of research before settling on Centara and so glad we did. Its truly all inclusive and the great service for us started at Male International airport and continued all through till our last day.

The place is really nice.This was my second trip to Maldives & next time I will prefer to go to centara only.

Coming from an Island myself. I appreciate the natural beauty of this island. My wife and I are newly weds and the staff is very accomodating with our scheduling. Great customer service and the deluxe villa is beautiful!!! I recommend this resort!!!

The resort is one of the very best we have been to in Asia during the last 4 years. If you are looking to experience the Maldives for the first time I would strongly recommend.

The staff is impressively attuned to the needs of their guests. The meal options are quite good. And The Club experience has been a nice complement to a great Resort.

Keep your expectation low

1.Don't come for honeymoon we emailed our wedding certificate for hotel's reference twice, 1 sent 10 days before check-in, 1 sent right before check-in as per request and mentioned to 4 staff at least . None honeymoon decor or drink was offered until the 2nd day evening after we complained that noon. Those fruits and wine were placed on a table that surrounded with our belongings. 2.Please reconfirm your gender with hotel beforehand they mixed up my gender with my husband's, resulted in wrong domestic flight ticket for the hotel and luckily they amended the mistake in the return flight. Hotel should check with us in advance if there is a doubt 3.Wrong massage treatment be served due to gender error? Our gender is still wrong when we check-in, we went for massage together and our treatments were reversed. 4.Clogged toilet it's my 2nd time to experience this issue among over 20 hotels I had stayed. The toilet bowl clogged at night on our arrival day. Fortunately, their staff came within 30mins to solve this issue. 5. Fence for private pool is too low there is a fence about 1m height on one side of the private pool, we got a neighborhood who stood for an hour looking around ........... 6.Hiding the domestic flight transportation option until we asked Seaplane was the only transportation option they raised in their first email. Domestic flight transport detail was provided since we asked why the cost listed in their website is cheaper.

Perfect honeymoon destination

Almost everything need to book, say spa, dinner, lunch etc, seems “fully booked” is the model ans. and only available after tomorrow.

LOVED Centara!

We have just returned from our 8 night honeymoon at Centara, where we had the most wonderful time. Centara is a tropical island PARADISE! Our over-water bungalow was clean, tidy, cool, quiet and private. There's nothing more magical than waking up to the most beautiful blue water outside every window of the room! Our bathroom was modern, with a jacuzzi, and the vanity was stocked full of necessary toiletries- very handy if you travelled only with carry-on luggage, which we did (and I highly recommend; you don't need much here!) Centara runs an all-inclusive package, which made it so easy! We packed away our wallets in the in-room safe when we arrived and didn't take them out until we left. You will NEVER go hungry on the island, with Buffet breakfast and a choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner (Buffet, Italian, Thai or Japanese Teppanyaki). Afternoon Tea is served by the pool with a selection of cakes and sandwiches.The food was fantastic. So many choices for drinks at the bars/ restaurants too. I loved the frozen Pina Coladas :) I only wish the in-room mini bar had wines/bubbles as well as beer (I don't drink beer) Loved the daily massages and included tours. We went to the gym a couple of times; It's got what you need for a holiday workout. Hands-down, the best part of our holiday were the staff and other guests we met. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We cannot wait to come back to Centara!!

Unforgettable. Very relaxing. We have done a lot of traveling and this by far is the most beautiful place we have been and the staff were wonderful.

Our first time staying in a Bangolo room with the actual resort being the island. It was an amazing romantic experience and I definitely would recommend anyone on their honeymoon and with family to go here!!

Awesome young couple holidays

We have spent an amazing week at Centara Grand Island Resort. All the facilities at the resort are high quality. Our Beach Villa had direct address to the coral reef. The coral reef is beautiful. You can find there different species of colorful fishes, reef sharks, rays and turtles. We have been diving/snorkeling in many places (Australia, Fiji, Mexico, Indonesia) in the last years and this is one of the best coral reefs that we have ever seen. The diving center is super professional. They arranged divings at house reef (including a wreck) and at different locations. The water sports center cree has been amazing with us, making efforts everyday to ensure that we had the best holidays. We would like also to refer the good quality of all the restaurants and the spa. If you are planning to go to Maldives, the best option is Centara Grand Island resort. We are looking forward to coma back again soon.

Very beautiful

We had a wonderful time at Centara Grand, the staff were very warm and friendly, the food in all the restaurants were of very high quality and absolutely delicious. I am not the best at leaving reviews but all I can say is that me and my wife had the best time at this resort.
