Simply said...we loved it!
Great, they do charge you for everything which for the price you are paying to have that much nickel and dimed was more than I have seen
The property was beautiful and the service was excellent. The food was delicious. We would definitely return. We wish there was a sandwich option provided in the evening. Also, railings on the staircases. We loved the room amenities, the beach bags and straw hats saved us! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
Amazing hotel in Zicatela
Loved it; the hotel is great but the staff and attention is even better. Highly recommended! Will stay here again
Great services
Loved my 3 nights staying in the top floor suite, the staff were very attentive and responsive.
The hotel’s location near a semi secluded portion of Zicatela beach is amazing, and its rooms and beach area are great.
Amazing Gem in Puerto Escondido
Wonderful stay, wonderful hotel, love the attention to detail. The staff was fantastic and so was the food. The only flaw: the toilet in the room is not actually separated from the room itself - as the wall doesn't go the full height. Which means no privacy when using the toilet and someone else is in the room... neither ventilation... Could be solved easily with a glass partition or simply extending the wall all the way to the cieling.
Beautiful and peaceful
The staff is great and friendly, the location is convinent. The food is delicious . The views are stunning!
Stayed in the main suit and had great service the first day. We had a chef and main house keeper. House keeper was fantastic. The food available was underwhelming. After the first night, it was as though we were forgotten. Luckily we are independent people and able to take care of ourselves. However, with the expectations set that we would be looked after, not impressed. Also, the checking out became an awkward situation because we were charged for “free” breakfast. Had to ask several times for a new print out of expenses and never received. Due to needing to head to the airport, there wasn’t time to continue to argue. Bottom line, we will not be back.
Highly Recommend
The staff were all super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing with lots of options to choose from.
It was a clean modern property with access to the beach right outside our room
I can’t say enough about how much I loved my stay here and would say it was almost perfect, oceanfront, great staff, great service, food and drink both generous and delicious, and I loved the yoga and outdoor spa massages. The only blip was the terrible 5 hour Saturday house music DJ. It’s a small resort and you just couldn’t escape the thumping. Not so relaxing when during a massage either. The staff were aware and are hopefully handling for future guests. Enjoy
Amazing staff, beautiful property, great food
Beautiful luxury stay
Really pretty spot and food. Rooms are clean and excellent air conditioning. We were very grateful for the attentive staff. Food was a bit on the pricer side compared to the local restaurants near by but reasonable given the convenience and high quality. Location was perfect for us as we wanted to be close to La Punta and Zicatela. On site ATV rental was very fun and convenient. Would return :)
Todo estuvo excelente.
Hotel, staff, food and service were Amazing. The only downside is that you can’t go in the ocean. If you like swimming look for a different hotel
The stay at this hotel was wonderful the amenities and the service was great nothing but AAA service.
Excellent design and service. Villa comes with a private chef that is around for anything you may need during your stay. Private pool and jacuzzi, right in front of the beach. No need to go out! Perfect for relaxation.
This property was everything I expected and more. The villa is incredible and private, great style, there is even a chef who cooks only for the Villa and they're available for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. The entire staff was extremely welcoming, Sebastian, Ana and Franco were all great. I got to meet the owner, Joseph, after a yoga class with the instructor, Camilla, and he was very hospitable too. Live music on the beach in the evening, draws a great crowd of people. Definitely want to return to this property, overall experience was incredible & very relaxing. Loved that it is 21 .
Most upscale option in Puerto Escondido
Great hotel to relax on the beach. Service is fantastic and the premises are in top shape.
Just an amazing experience!
Greta hotel very private and exclusive the food and drinks are excellent
Fabulous sunser
Good
BEST part about our trip was staying here. Obviously it’s a beautiful hotel but more so the staff made it worth every penny. The girls in the front were super sweet and attentive. I needed a scooter they organized the rental for me, later that night at 9pm I had driven the scooter to dinner and realized it was in poor condition, I messaged the front desk on WhatsApp, by the time I had returned from dinner a new scooter was waiting for me, as they had dealt with the company and had them come by to replace the scooter. To add to that, the reason I needed the scooter was to go to a early tour the next morning, and they left two towels for me at reception- just really showing that they go the extra mile and I never asked them too to do that. Overall every single member of their team made me feel like I was cared for and that it was a pleasure to provide the service. You can’t really ask for more. Thank you for making my stay amazing. I greatly appreciate it.
Exelent choose for a weekend vacation
Wonderful experience at Casa Joseph. The staff were very accommodating, the amenities were of high quality, and the setup of the grounds were spot on. CJ provided everything a guest could want in a Oaxacan beach town that is slightly underdeveloped. We felt very safe, as there were security dogs/guards 24/7. There is a great area in La punta for shopping and nightlife that is about a 20 minute walk, but avoid walking back and forth after the sun sets as it could be very sketchy if you don’t know exactly where you’re going. Overall, CJ is the best luxury option in PE from our perspective. Worth every penny.
Our stay started less than desirable with our room available for only 3 of the 4 nights we booked and had confirmed. The second night we had to move to a much less 1 class hotel across the street which was totally unacceptable with mold and rust all over. We ended up going at our expense to a different hotel and came back to Casa Joseph for the 3rd and 4th night where the staff very apologetically upgraded us to the top two bedroom villa with swimming pool and private chef. We enjoyed the days we stayed at Casa Joseph and obviously would have preferred not to have to move to a different hotel mid of our stay. But, the staff and manager were extremely nice and friendly and overall we had a good time and we appreciate the upgrades we received in compensation for the messed up reservation.
Wonderful staff, beautiful hotel, very chic
The staff & ownership of Casa Joseph clearly put a lot of thought, energy, and care into this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here - the food was absolutely delicious (and generally reasonably priced), especially the breakfast. I would say the overall vibe is relaxation, so not too many amenities outside of a nice wading pool, yoga, spa services. They had live music every night. Front desk staff can help you arrange activities with outside vendors. Rooms were really comfortable with great balconies. This place is pretty chic, so we felt a bit of place in our dirty Phillies baseball caps & gym shorts, but it was still lovely!
If you want a luxury yet laid back experience in Zicatela, this is your place! Casa Joseph is the perfect place for a getaway and to pamper yourself on the beach. It is literally ON the beach, which is rare for Zicatela. Every detail is thought through, from the coconut they give you at checkout to them cutting the coconut as a snack on the beach while you wait on your room. The rooms are gorgeous - truly a dream. They have great, thoughtful amenities, like a sweatshirt for breezy nights on the beach and homemade toiletries/soaps. Do yourself a favor and stay here!
shrunk entire suitcase of luggage and no compensation
Good Property, Bad Service, No value for the Money
In general a pleasant stay because the hotel is peaceful and beautiful, however there are a few points they could improve: *They should mention the beach of the hotel is not suitable to swim *Beers were always warm and the night we had dinner at restaurant all white wine was warm, this is basic and still fail. *The service in general was poor, many time we needed to step up and request the service as nobody was available at the pool or even beach and when stepping out we would find waiters just chatting amongst themselves. *They charge 15% gratuity in every bill even when we had to go and get our own drinks. *Food was OK but breakfast often cold, took forever with the incorrect items. *Room service was not performed the first day, and the last one minibar was not refilled, when requested a bottle of wine refill they charged me a service fee, when they should’ve done this to begin with. *The first day there was no hot water in the room. Is worth to say that we were offer a free couples massage for the inconvenience, Being this a very expensive property I would’ve expected a better service than the one provided, in general terms we did not to see the value for the amount paid.
Best of the Best
We have the good fortune to travel all over the world, and we've stayed at amazing resorts, but none was any better than the Casa Joseph. The staff was cheerful and accommodating, the rooms are nicely designed, and the food was truly amazing....much better than you normally find at a resort and beautiful as well as delicious. The beach location, the lovely evening music, the wonderful rooms....truly just a magical place that we hated to leave. They have a bit of noise problem with the rooms at the top and to the left....a friendly neighborhood rooster takes his job very seriously....but even that would not deter me from coming back to this marvelous place. Special shout out to Alaini for taking a great holiday picture for us and for Catalina and Louisa at the front desk who made sure we had every little thing we could need.
Hotel Joseph is a beautiful hotel to stay at. The service from all the staff from our arrival to our exit is top notch. The food and drinks are delicious. Will be returning for our next visit .
Amazing hotel, everything is super clean, modern, new and right in front of the beach. Staff is super friendly! There’s not much to do near the hotel, so if your plan is to party please reconsider, but if your plan is to relax and enjoy the beach this hotel is perfect for you. I’m coming back for sure!
The staff was beyond amazing, the food was delicious and the resort top notch! Loved the rooms, views and long stretch of beach we could walk. Such a special place and we will be back!
Superb!!
Heaven on earth from the moment we arrived - jet lagged and exhausted, from the moment we left - feeling like entirely new people. Everything about this place is 5*s and we can’t imagine a more perfect place to have spent our honeymoon. The location is amazing, sunsets every evening and exceptional food all day (we will be dreaming about the breakfast for a long time to come), the rooms were comfortable and beautiful. There were so many amazing touches like the cold towels, ice lollies (and even occasional shots) whilst you sunbathed. But the real show stopper were the staff. Daniel and the team couldn’t do enough to make our trip as special as it was, from organising a room upgrade when there was one available to leaving us champagne in our room to kick off our honeymoon in style. Every member of staff was warm, attentive and happy - which made the whole experience even better. They seemed to genuinely enjoy working here and nothing was ever too much. It’s also the perfect location to explore Puerto from - with delicious restaurants and fun bars walkable in both directions down the beach. Couldn’t recommend this place more! We will be back if we’re ever lucky enough to be back in this neck of the woods. Thank you for everything!
Excelente servicio y todas las amenidades
Amazing honeymoon stay!
Wonderful staff! Everyone was so inviting and everything was so clean and beautiful. I will recommend to everyone!!
The hotel is beautiful. The food is very good. We had issues with the hot water, we needed to call half an hour before taking a shower so the water heater could be turned on. There was also a cockroach in our room. The staff said that it was rare but not unlikely because of the vegetation around the hotel. There are no pool towels. We had to request them every time we went into the pool. Lastly we had issues with electricity and WiFi. It is a beautiful hotel but services are somewhat subpar for the price.
The staff was friendly and they made us feel welcomed the moment we arrived!
Our entire stay at Casa Joseph was absolutely wonderful. Our room was spectacular, the daily breakfast and food delicious, and the staff, especially Dulce and Miguel were GREAT! Would definitely come back and stay there again and recommend!
Wonderful view of the ocean and huge waves. The restaurant was amazing. Everything I ordered was delicious. I regretted venturing out to other places to eat. Very kind and attentive staff. You definitely need to rent a car or take taxis if you want to venture out and explore the swimmable beaches. Overall I would recommend this hotel.
Excellent location and property, very well cared for. Service is absolutely excellent and everyone has an amazing attitude. Food is excellent but I wish it was more Oaxacan.
It was great
This is a fabulous property in all aspects! The room was very clean, the staff was fabulous. If anything was needed they were there to help. We also Enjoyed the food, especially our morning breakfast. We also enjoyed massages twice, the therapists were very good. We will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soo
We had a wonderful stay. Staff were very attentive and friendly
Casa Joseph has the friendliest, hardest working and most efficient staff. They seemed to anticipate what I needed before I knew I did. I chose a chaise at the beach, before I knew it, someone was raising my umbrella and brining me an ice bucket of water bottles. After bringing a couple of drinks they brought an ice cold damp washcloth to cool off with. I have been to places where a reservation was needed for a chaise, not here. It appeared that there was enough for every room on the property, whether they used it or not. Plenty of tables on the sand for meals, but also a dining room on the third floor overlooking the ocean if you prefer. There was a bar on the sand and music at night. Yoga in the morning and meditation at night, not my thing, but looked very nice. The pool was secluded from the sand and wind, but looked out at the ocean. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable with a large balcony looking out to the ocean with every amenity you could imagine. There was security both in the front and the back to ensure safety. I received a text from Miguel before arriving and he arranged for our transportation from the airport and for our daily needs. I have never given such a Lengthy review, and I've traveled all over the world, but the hard work and detail that went into making these last four days was very apparent and I hope you decide to expedience it yourself.
Amazing
Loved everything about this hotel. Incredible service, truly the most attentive, well trained staff I’ve ever experienced in Mexico. Located on an enormous beach with no hotels on either side. Amazing food whether you’re at the beach, the pool or the restaurant. Nice wine selection and tasty cocktail choices. Comfortable beach loungers with as many umbrellas as you want and unlimited free drinking water all day. Two happy hours a day. Live music every night. All rooms are beach front. We stayed in the basic beachfront which was a little small for us but adequate. Nice bath supplies, mini fridge and a comfortable bed. Recommend getting the 1 bdrm if you can to get a higher floor and bigger terrace. Surpassed expectations overall. We will definitely be back.
This is a four star property however, it’s five star when you add in the amazing staff. I found them all to so nice, pleasant and truly helpful…especially Aigua, Louisa and of course, Astrid! If you want to venture out and get an authentic Mexican experience, I’d highly recommend you get the hotel to arrange a personal tour by the super amazing Janine who works with their driver company…she’s the best, and the only female on their staff! The only thing lacking here are coffee makers in the rooms! You’ll have to wait for the restaurant to open at 8 to get your coffee!
Book it.
This is the place to go if you want a few days of relaxation on the beach. Every room faces sea; the staff can not do enough for you and the cocktails keep flowing. I also did yoga each day and both teachers were brilliant whatever your standard. The ‘town’ is 20 min walk along beach or 5 min taxi. Can recommend highly enough if relaxed indulgence is what you want.
Stunning design and location, directly on a gorgeous sunny stretch of beach. As noted, it's not a swimming beach due to rough currents but you can go in a few feet to cool off plus there is a sparkling clean pool. Food quality is excellent and the staff gets an A for effort on the service. There is one kitchen on the beach that serves the entire facility and at peak times that can slow things down but generally we had very good service through about 15 meals over 6 days. There's limited dining nearby but the food quality here is 5 stars and quite honestly even when we went elsewhere there's not a huge amount of variety. Puerto Escondido is an out-of-the-way "end of the road" kind of place so just manage your expectations. The regular "oceanfront" suites are a bit tight, especially the bathrooms (we're both skinny otherwise would have been a challenge) but with the view and terrace more than compensate for all that. Ask for room on the third floor for best view if you don't mind the stairs. Also CONFIRM arrival and departure dates directly with hotel since we had issues with both. There's a lot of nodding and agreement (everyone very polite and friendly) but not sure they always understood my English or high school Spanish.
Quiet area on outskirts
Great for a short stay, pricey.
Super nice property. Great location. Very high end interiors, bedding, bathrooms, etc. Only detraction is the property is extremely greedy on their food & beverage pricing, which is not nearly in line with the property quality. Overall a nice boutique property for a couple day's stay, but more than that and you'll need a hefty bankroll.
BEAUTIFUL HOTEL! STAFF WAS GREAT!!
Very Good
The property itself was beautiful. Each room looks out on the ocean and the waves can be heard crashing on the beach. It’s very peaceful and calm. The pool and beach areas are both nice and very well maintained. The food was actually surprisingly good as well. The service left something to be desired. Our room was not cleaned on the first day at all, and by the time we arrived back from the days activities it made no sense to ask. The following day, we were out until 3pm and when we returned the room still had not been cleaned; then, despite asking twice and vacating our room for two hours so the staff could access it, the room still was not cleaned until I went to the receptionist for a third time and complained. On our final day we asked the receptionist to arrange transportation for us to the airport the following morning, which is an included service. Remembering the cleaning debacle, we called the receptionist again to confirm. The following morning, there was no shuttle, and there was no receptionist; and only by luck did we catch a taxi that was dropping off an employee of the hotel, otherwise finding one at that hour might have been difficult and could have caused us to miss our flight. Beautiful place but the service is crap. They honestly seem overstaffed but just completely disorganized/incompetent.
Great luxury hotel
Excelente servicio Excelente comida Excelentes instalaciones
very clean and rustic place. it is more high end hotel compared to others on that same block , excellent food and rooms amenities.
Amazing !!!!! Staff and service definitely one of my favorite
Loved Casa Joseph, staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent service! Right on the beach so wonderful views. Rooms are very nice. Definitely recommend this place
This is a very peaceful place to stay!
Excelente servicio, hotel precioso
Excelentes instalaciones, super servicio.

I mean what can I say about Casa Joseph? There are no words. Service is incredible, just so attentive and to the standards. Actually, correction, above standards. Amazing stay, wished I was there for longer than 4 days. Definitely recommended!
