Lucky find!
What a find! Centrally located in a "local traffic only" part of Lisbon. Surrounded by the livelyness of the city, this is a peaceful oasis in the midst of it all. We stayed in one of the one bedroom appartments in high season for a very reasonable price. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed! The front desk attendant was friendly and helpful! Breakfast was included and excellent. The interior patio was lovely as well. If we make it back to Lisbon, I would rebook this in a heartbeat!
My best stay during my Eurotrip so far. Iryna is the best receptionist, great location, amazing food. Obrigado!
Great place . Wonderful location. Wonderful staff! Great Breakfast. We had 2 rooms - one room /apartment had a very large bathroom however the bathroom was really small in the other room the Superior Apartment. The shower was tiny in that bathroom. You may want to check on bathroom size in the room/apartment you choose.
Friendly staff, clean and beautiful property. Slight climb to get the hotel but you’ll get used it.
Our stay was great. The location is very special and historic, which made for a . The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was courteous, accommodating, and friendly. We enjoyed having a full breakfast every morning with a variety of options. We would happily return.
The staff was wonderful-especially, Pedro. He was professional, yet, personable. The room was clean; however, the bathroom shower walls and glass door was beginning to have mold in spots.
It was great for those who want to explore Lisbon on foot, like us. Quiet, safe, historical and friendly place with loads of places to explore around.
Good stay
It was a good stay. A very immersive, realistic experience of living in Alfama. Excellent food and very friendly people.
The property was charming and the breakfast spectacular. Only regret the 5 flight of stairs to go up every day at the end of walking through Lisbon (which is a challenge in itself). Have to give thanks to the employees who helped us with the luggage upon arrival and departure! Encantadores todos.
A little oasis in the city, with really friendly helpful staff.
A very private and quaint property. Excellent staff service, breakfast and hospitality. Do note that since it is not a modern building, some of the rooms are located on higher floors with rather narrow stairs. (and there is no lifts). The toilet layout is also not the best as the shower cabin is rather small. Otherwise everything else is perfect. Thanks for the heartwarming stay.
Great breakfast, rooms and nice people. I would stay here again with my family. One thing is that it is a the top of the hill and only a few cabs can access the location (no uber)-so might not be accessible for all.
I really iked this place. It was quaint and clean and the staff were super helpful and kind. Breakfast selection was huge with so many goodies. The issue is that its in an old part of town and if u take an uber you wont be able to get onto the street. Limited accessibility. Then you have to drag your luggage up the hill. Its rough. Get a taxi. For some reason they can utilize the street but not ubers.
A unique and quiet setting, it was a wonderful retreat after a busy day in the city. The walk up to the hotel is quite steep and most Ubers can’t go up there (taxis can), so just something to keep in mind. The breakfast was awesome and the bed was super comfortable!
Great location.staff and value
Although as I arrived by taxi was terrified by the hill..you soon learn the ways to avoid steep climbing and discover it is located in an excellent position for both upper and lower Lisbon...great breakfast and food and drinks all day..very friendly staff and spotless clean
We had a fabulous time. The hotel staff were wonderful. The property was central and easy to access public transportation.
Friendly staff and nice breakfast.
Clean accommodations, friendly and attentive staff. Always service with a smile . I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it as a place to stay.
Lovely atmosphere, great breakfast, calm and friendly in the middle of a bustling city
Great location, staff were friendly and helpful. Really nice breakfast
5 star service and location. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The Santa Catarina neighbour is one of the oldest in Lisbon. It is quaint and provides a unique experience. Also, great breakfast!
The courtyard setting was brilliant. Location on a hillside was not the best but hey thats Lisboa.
Nice place! Clean comfortable and very helpful and friendly staff. Quiet accommodations and comfortable room. Breakfast was great!
The staff was ALWAYS welcoming, and luckily they were able to accommodate an early check-in. Lovely apartment with very pretty decor. Everything you need . Bathroom small but well equipped. Breakfast is absolutely amazing, the staff should be very proud of themselves. Quiet ladies back in kitchen, but just to let them know they were very much appreciated. Thank you. Will recommend to friends while staying in Belem.
Our stay at Casa do Patio was amazing and we plan to stay there again when we return to Lisbon. Our favorite things were: - Friendly staff, every staff member always greeted you with a smile and an Olá, from the reception to the cleaner, to the cooks in the kitchen preparing breakfast. They helped us with directions and gave us local tips as well. - Breakfast, the breakfast everyone morning was delicious, with lots of options, LOTS of pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs, coffee, fresh juice and many other things. We saved a lot of money by eating breakfast each morning there. - Location, Casa do Patio feels tucked into a regular Lisbon neighborhood but at the same time it is extremely walkable to some of the main shopping and tourist areas. - Price, the price was very reasonable compared to other places in Lisbon - Quiet, the area and all the guests were quiet, it was a very relaxing place after long days with the crowds. - Cats, they have 3 cats that are very cute and friendly waiting to greet you
The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The room was comfortable and quiet and you can not beat the location...we walked every where.
Very kind and warm welcome from Hugo and his team. Superb breakfasts which included local cheeses, fresh fruit, home made Portuguese pastries and endless coffee. Excellent location near bars, clubs, restaurants and shopping. Quiet and comfortable accommodation in a traditional courtyard. Attentive housekeeping and good room facilities. Great value for money.
We had a nice time in Lisbon, Casa do Patio is within walking distance to city center and bairro alto with plenty of restaurants and pubs.
All staff at Casa do Patio were super friendly. Sara was helpful checking us in and allowed us to check in early-- due to our early departure the next day, she provided us with a take away snack box and made arrangements for the airport transfer (not free, but on time). The location in Historic Lisboa was convenient to many sites and wonderful views of the city. Parking is not available and the availability
Fantastic property close to everything and staff was incredible.
A quiet property in the midst of the city. What an absolute pleasure. Hugo, Antonio and the other staff were truly outstanding. Incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was to look forward to daily. We highly recommend the Patio!!
A real feel of Lisbon, not just another hotel.
Amazing staff
Wonderful
Stay was wonderful. We had AC and a full kitchen/washing machine. Breakfast was fantastic. Our room was a 4 story walk-up but our views were worth it. Location was also great
A pearl!
Amazing! We were a group of friends and we stayed one night but we wanted to stay longer!
A lovely spot if you don’t mind walking a bit as you will need to take a short walk from the main road and carry your bags, so best for those who travel light. Well worth the walk! The patio is a perfect place to enjoy the delicious breakfast or an afternoon break. Staff are very welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Much more of a hosted, personal experience than a “traditional” hotel.
Amazing hotel in Lisbon.
Great place to stay ! Staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast was good although the same each day. Close to several bars restaurants and mirador.
Quiet place with nice courtyard.
Even better than expected!
Had a fantastic stay at Casa do Patio. The room was actually like a studio apartment, spacious, quiet, very well appointed. The patio area is really great to enjoy breakfast or enjoy an afternoon beer. The breakfast buffet spread was also very extensive, with various breads, pastries, cold meats and cheeses, jams, cakes etc. only learned my last day that the staff would also make eggs to order. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is in a more residential area, and be prepared to brace the hills of Lisbon to get there; but even so I would absolutely recommend staying here.
Lilliana was more than helpful.
Lovely and clean, great breakfast.
Will always try to stay here!
Everything was excellent and everyone were really nice!
I love my stay at Casa do Patio. The location was wonderful. It was in a residential area, so it was quiet at night, but it was a short walk to nightlight, sightseeing, and many lovely areas. The staff was so welcoming and friendly and the daily breakfast was delicious. They even packed a breakfast for me before I left in my super early flight. I would definitely stay here again.
Good location. We had checked in on-line, or so we thought. We arrived at Casa Di Patio and were told we had to go to another hotel to check in. When we got there, we were informed that they had no record of our on line check in (despite us having a confirmation email). It was laborious to say the least. There was no information in the room, no WiFi code or useful tourist advice which is unusual. We were in an upstairs room which had a sloping roof and a metal beam. We had to move the bed because whoever slept on the left hand side of the bed was at risk of severe head injury if they got up in the dark. There was a coffee machine but no kettle, not great for a tea drinker. We were at Casa Di Patio for 6 nights, the room was only cleaned once. We ran out of toilet roll on day 5 and resorted to rooting around to find napkins. There was no reception area & no telephone in the room to request supplies. You had to go to the sister hotel for breakfast. The service was very hit and miss. There were a couple of very friendly staff but on the whole service was poor. There was no social distancing at all at the buffet breakfast. The sister hotel carpet was absolutely filthy, it was red but looked black & appeared not to have been hoovered for the entire week we were there. We loved Lisbon but would not stay at this hotel again. It’s not suitable for anyone taller than 3 ft unless you are willing to re-arrange the room. The lack of room cleaning was worrying
Very friendly and helpful staff. Homely feel to the property.
Cozy and friendly place!
Very cozy, really good location and staff is amazing!
Loved it!
Very friendly staff and wonderful breakfast. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. I will definitely stay there again!
We were warmly welcomed by friendly staff, quiet ambience, close to public transport and/or easy walking, if you can cope with hills. Breakfast was wonderful, There was a coffee machine in the room, free to use, but would have appreciated a kettle. A great little gem of a place to stay.
The best Casa in Lisbon
The place is very cute, we love the atmosphere at the court yard, home made breakfast and super nice staff. NO car access except for taxi and residents. Be ready to walk a lot, Easy walking to lots of Lisbon attraction points. We will be back one day
Can’t fault this place, fab location (very hilly but that’s Lisbon in general) staff were excellent, breakfast delicious, brilliant value for money
This property was a very pleasant surprise as it is so unique. Hiding within a quiet secluded area (that you cannot reach by car unless authurised) it was so charming and welcoming. The rooms are in a form of a well maintained courtyard, in which every corner is well looked after. The room was unique by design, pleasnat and clean. Above all we liked rhe welcoming staff who made every effort to make our stay so relaxing and comfortable.
Nice place.
Nice people. Fun location. If you value WiFi this is not for you.
Cute boutique guesthouse in a well located area, short walk to good restaurants and bars with views. Staff were friendly and attentive.
We stayed in the top floor of the building, it had a beautiful view of Bairro. Also as it was centrally located, it was easy to get to restaurants and bars. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which made our stay really enjoyable.
The begging was complicated, but the rest of the stay was grate
We arrived late in the evening but as tequested by the hotel we had let them know in advance and they emailed us precise instructions for a secure way to get our key along with a back up phone number just in case. The hotel is a little hard to find as it is on a hill in some pretty narrow streets. Our cab driver let us out at the bottom of thr hill but we found out that cabs actually go to the main gate. Everything wss fine getting the key and we fiund ourselves in a spacious room with a kitchenettr and s great coffee maker! There was a map of Lisbon and hotel info provided. The rooms all face a courtyard whete tables are set out for guest use. A fantastic breakfast was served in the dining room/reception area. Our hosts Rafael, Daniela, Ana & Gonçalo were great at providing recommendations and answering questions. The hotel is central to many things including the Sodre metro station where you can purchase a 24 hour transit pass for 6.30€. The pass allows you to use and trams, buses and the metro and is a great way to fet around Lisbon. We took tram 15e to Belem to see the monument to Henry the Navigator et al, the Tower of Belen and acery fresh Pastel ds nats! Tram 28e takes you closest to the hotel but bear in mind it is a steep walk to and from the hotel. We were very pleased with our stay at Cass do Patio!
Excellent place to stay in Lisbon. Feels more like living as a local than staying at a hotel. The patio/courtyard area is wonderful for breakfast and the staff is very friendly. We had one of the apartments which was a four flight walk up so not for everyone, but the room was spacious, well appointed and the view was great.
Exceptional customer service
Clean and well equipped rooms, close to the city center and night life, exceptional customer service..... gives you a really homely feeling. Will stay again for sure and highly recommend Thanks Rafael and the beautiful girl at the reception (sorry, didn’t get her name)
Pleasant accommodation
The accommodation was difficult to find and not accessible by car - we should have been given more information about this. We had to park our car outside the limited access area and walk. The room itself, the staff and the food were all excellent.
Great hotel but don't drive there. Street is tiny and theres no parking on site. That said, couldn't be happier with the room and the breakfast was good too. Staff helpful and friendly, will definitely recommend it.
Very nice overall, but difficult location to get i
Overall the property, the service, and the staff were great! My only complaint was the unaccessability to the hotel via car. It is located in a residential neighborhood, where cars cannot enter, and you have to go up and down some very steep hills in order to reach the hotel, and they do not offer a service to help you carry your luggage . For anyone with any health conditions, or any senior citizens, or people with children, I definitely would not recommend it.
The room was very clean with beautiful views. Full kitchen and washer for apartment rental. Only one awful aspect: the tiny tiny shower stall that hardly fit a grown fit (not overweight) man 5'11'' like me. The hot and cold water in the shower head was very tricky and could suddenly turn hot, then cold. Que arroyo!
A jem - believe the hype!
Amazing - such a great experience here, the service in particular is outstanding. We will NOT look elsewhere for our next trip to Lisbon, we've already found the best experience we could hope for, and for such a reasonable price!!!!
Intimate Stay and warm hospitality
Perfect hotel for our first stay in Lisbon. The hotel arranged for airport transportation and assisted with all of our activity arrangements. The breakfast was excellent and rooms comfortable. We would definitely return and recommend to friends.
Great stay!
Best of the best! Out of the way, quite, clean, safe, friendly, get it if you can
Excellent hotel!
Loved our stay at Casa do Patio! Great location, breakfast was good, friendly staff. The kids loved the cats too!
Don't let the entrance put you off.
When we turned off the road into the ally and courtyard I began to wonder if booking here was a mistake but I could not have been more wrong. Yes we had to climb over the clothes props and duck under a washing line but the welcome was warm, the coffee and cake a welcome surprise and the excellent orientation pointing out restaurants, and places of interest set us up for our time in Lisbon. In contrast to the comunal spaces the room was smart and the bed so comfortable. Breakfast, good WIFI, the taxi to the airport when we left and a friendly harmonious staff made for a relaxed stay.
They are one of the best bnb I’ve ever been to. Thank you for the hospitality and kind welcome! You will be missing out if you visit Lisbon and don’t stay with them.
Thanks for everything!!!!
what a beatiful people they have there , really atentive to our needs , good location, affordable price , will recommend to all our friends , thanks!!!!
Little gem of a place
Welcoming team from the minute we arrived. Raffa was so helpful giving us an initial coffee and cake chat about the area, attractions, things to see and things to avoid. We felt comfortable and part of a small community
Enjoy Lisbon.
Reception was very helpful with orientation and arranging a tour and a restaurant reservation; and printed our boarding passes! The room was really a small apartment up several flights of stairs. There was a kitchen, washing machine (and a clothes line outside the window) and a dishwasher. The roads to the hotel are narrow and hilly which is part of the charm. The breakfast there is good with a variety of meats and cheeses with eggs made to order. The area is in the old part of town but is safe and full of character. We enjoyed our three day stay.
Nice hotel, warm and friendly staff
Good location, great staff, nice breakfast and clean rooms. The loft upstairs was a little too small for 4 people and likely banging your heads - very tight corners and tiny bathroom.
in the heart of lisben
the staff are very friendly. the hotel is in the old town on the hilly and marble paved street. my taxi cab driver had some difficulty to reach the hotel, even with his gps. the neighborhood is running down, not clean and smell. it take about 15 minutes to reach the nearest subway station, on the up slope and narrow side walk.

Great Apartment near historic Lisbon
What makes Caso do Patio great is their staff. They were so helpful with not only what to do in Lisbon but also what to do at our next destination.
Good location, quiet place, great staff
All the staff unbelievably friendly and helpful. Everybody is eager to help. I felt as their best friend, welcomed warmly. The breakfast is awesome, better than in many of restaurants. The place is close to everything, walking distance, but very quiet
Great for families
Clean, comfortable room with all the necessities. Family room for 4 was perfect. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast. Laid back and bohemian feel. Great spot for walking the Bairro Alto district, restaurants, bars etc. If coming by car, park at one of nearest public parking lots and walk to hotel - minimal luggage is key.
Stay at Casa do Patio
Absaloutly great place to stay. I stayed for three nights and the property was such a great place to stay. Good location, great friendly and helpful staff and amazing breakfast. I would recomend this place to anyone and would definately return.
Simply amazing
Fantastic location, incredible staff, clean and big room and great breakfast! Real European vibe, I can't wait to go back!!!
good position, friendly staff
walking distance to the old town and tram routes walking distance to one of the best viewpoints over Tajo river. very friendly staff, very clean, good breakfast
Central location, friendly b&b feel
Just stayed there and had great trip to Lisbon. Staff are friendly, courtyard is inviting. Small touches like free fruit and cake anytimenin day and having a tea to open the lobby and make a tea after hours made it feel very comfortable and homey. Hard to find and get to if you are driving, but location and surrounding streets are part of the charm. Would definitely recommend to travels who want a local experience.
Great location
Lovely quiet courtyard, great breakfast and perfect location. Very helpful staff.
A really lovely little hotel.
A really lovely little hotel. Friendly staff and a delightful courtyard to relax in.
Fantastic experience. You should try this place
Amazing experience at the guest house. People are so friendly and great to talk to. I would love to go back again
Hotel has great location
Staff was very courteous, helpful and pleasant. The room I was assigned was on the second floor... and there's no elevator. Try schlepping your suitcase up a narrow stairway! And the stairway is not lit up and there's very little natural lite. Thankfully, I had my cell phone flash lite to use! Unsafe from that point of view. The apartment I was given had a nice living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom was really tiny and the shower area was barely large enough to turn around in. Also, the road to the hotel is very restrictive as to who can use it... Uber cannot take you to the entryway and they will drop you off some distance away... once again, schlep your suitcase to the hotel!! Apart from that, I had a good time.
Adorable location and friendly staff
We stayed here for a week and a half in early June, and it was a lovely experience. The rooms were charming and clean. We stayed in an upstairs unit with two large (king-like) beds. There were dormers in the corners of the room. The room had one chair and ottoman, a dresser with many drawers, three night stands, an open hanging clothes area, and a small bathroom with a standing shower. The room also had an air conditioning unit that functioned very well. There were also two windows that opened with views in two different directions. All the rooms open to a sweet, private courtyard with patio tables and umbrellas. There is an inside breakfast room where a breakfast buffet is prepared and served each day, but we -- and everyone else -- always ate outside. It was very lovely. This location is about a 15-minute walk (with a serious hill) to the Baixa-Chiado metro and maybe a little less than a 15-minute (downhill) walk to the train, ferry, and buses at Cais do Sodre. There are other trams and buses closer, but these were the ones we used mostly. The hotel staff were all very happy, friendly, and helpful people. We had a very nice visit and would definitely stay here again.
This is where you want to stay in Lisbon
Amazingly charming, the staff there will go many extra miles to make you feel comfortable, the breakfast is absolutely stellar. Clean, quiet, perfectly located.
Great location, excellent staff
Loved everything about this place. The location is excellent, a short walk from central Lisbon. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and went to great lengths to make us feel welcome.
Would recommend
Casa do Patio feels like living at home. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating; the rooms, clean and comfortable. The location is close enough to all the attractions. It is nothing like a traditional hotel, but I would recommend Casa do Patio by Shiadu.
Great base for exploring Lisbon
Incredibly welcoming staff, very friendly with great advice on Lisbon and surrounding area. Kids loved the courtyard and rooms.
Great Value
Casa du Patio provides great value. Great location, comfortable rooms, and great views.
Incredible location. Beautiful view and lovely renovated and comfortable appartment. Rafael, Gonçalo and other staff very welcoming and incredibly helpful giving us directions, advice on tours and making arrangements for ts is and transport. Obrigado!
Great quiet neighborhood.
Take a taxi there initially...hard to find!
Cozy cottage in the heart of the historic district
The service was always kind and caring and efficient. We were very pleased!
Very helpful staff
enjoyed the spacious apartment it was nice to have a little extra room. a long walk up the steps and no lift so wouldn't be good for physically limited people but I enjoyed the extra exercise. welcomed warmly by staff at reception who were very helpful and friendly cleaning staff who were obviously good at their job because apartment was very clean.
Great staff!
The staff at this hotel was excellent. They allowed us to drop our bags off early and then arrange a taxi for us very early in the morning. They also made up a breakfast for us to carry with us. The location is a little bit off the beaten path, but everything else was very nice.
The only improvement could have been replenishment of shampoo and bath gel once every two days. Otherwise an excellent stay with great and attentive vibrant people taking care of us.
Friendly and comfy for a few days' stay
Very friendly helpful staff. Pleasant courtyard that traps the sun. Room was clean and comfortable, though lights were dim in the bathroom. Location is a little way out of the busy areas and is a fair climb to reach from the lower town.
Very nice staff! Great location, clean and comfortable apt.

Stayed here for 2 weeks. Charming place with friendly staff. Lovely buffet style breakfast every day, including food they’ve grown themselves. Local area is quite hilly. Also, a private area so regular cars and some taxis can’t take you right to the hotel. Lots or nice restaurants and bars in the local area, just be prepared for the walk back at night. Would definitely stay here again.
