Excellent option in Cromwell

Great property, modern, clean, well appointed and friendly owners. We will definitely return when we are back in Cromwell.

Comfortable stay & friendly staff

Our group of 3 had a very comfortable stay in a 1 bedroom unit. It was reasonably spacious with a kitchenette. There is a guest laundry available and is a short walk to some shops and restaurants and nearby a pub, supermarket and wineries. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Great location, large comfortable room

This was hands down the best motel I have stayed in. Very spacious, clean room with a terrace onto grass. Convent to shops and restaurants. And a very helpful and courteous reception.

Clean and well equipped

We had a Great one night stay at Carrick Lodge, our room was spotless when we arrived and the owners/managers were very friendly and helpful. If ever this way again we would love to stay.

Stayed for three nights, had a kitchenette studio with a large spa bath and a King size for bed all to myself. Warm comfy space,friendly, helpful owners.

The Carrick Lodge is very close to the start of the Dunstan Lake cycle trail, a brief walk from two bicycle outfitters and across the street from several restaurants. Our room was clean, well stocked with the necessities and the small kitchen met the needs of two travelers perfectly. We'll be back to stay again.

Absolutely immaculate, quiet and so comfortable. Will only ever stay here when I go to Cromwell. They even put the heat pump on for me so it was warm when I got back to my room after a day out.

Lovely, comfortable room with plenty of space. Would happily stay and visit again. Cromwell is an amazing wee town.

Room is spacious and sparkling clean, good shower. 2 minutes walk to the village with a few restaurants and cafes. Intercity bus stops at the village so very convenient even with luggages. Thanks for Bob for dropping us at the historic precinct and his good restaurant recommendations and local information. Highly recommended!

Location - excellent - cafes etc within 5min walking distance. Room was extremely spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Rooms are well insulated as there was zero noise heard from other occupied rooms. Lovely verandah area infront of our room - was great to enjoy the morning sun. Most importantly - A huge and greatful thankyou to Bob for accommodating our very late check in - would not hesitate to stay here again - Thankyou so much

Hidden cost for not include in booking

We have booked a lot of hotels in New Zealand for 4 with more than 2 beds in our stay in New Zealand from Hotels.com. This is the only hotel that we do not recommend due to hidden cost. We booked a room for 4, but during check in, we were told that this room we booked, which has 1 queen and 2 single beds is for only 2 adults, and we were charged additional NZD$30 per adult per night. As a result, we incurred additional NZD$120 for 2 nights. This is also the only hotel that we were told not to have any cooking that has odours, or else we will be charged an additional night. Thus after our stay, we have to get someone from the hotel to verify that there is no odour, as we totally do not trust the hotel at all. Overall, it is clean, and looks new. But we will only recommend booking the normal rooms for 2 adults each to avoid any hidden cost. If you plan to cook, also avoid this hotel.

A fine place to stay in Central Otago with very helpful owners

Lovely place to stay.

We had a lovely stay here. Warmly greeted and shown to our room. Good size room with comfy bed, good linen and clean bathroom. Everything we needed on hand. Sliding door to outside seating area. Walking distance to shops and eateries.

Warm welcome, clean spacious unit close to all facilities and shopping centre. Within walking distance of restaurants and township. Green spaces to walk, visit galleries and golf. Ideal for disability as room and bathroom all on one floor. Great close parking. Host was very helpful and responsive.

Room was great, comfortable. Biggest problem was the parking with no order or set parks for each unit. We would come back and there would be no free parking spaces. Allotting a park for each unit would be the sensible thing to do. We had to cut some of our activities short so we could get back early to secure a park. We are elderly, 76yrs and 80yrs old so parking on the street was not an option. Parking or lack of, kind of spoilt all the good things about the facility.

Great place to stay, had everything we needed for one night. Nice view from end unit over garden and parking right outside door. Parking isn’t allocated per unit but seemed to work out that way anyhow. Comfy bed and spacious bathroom with a spa bath. Kitchen facilities handy also.

We were staying as part of family group and Kylie and her team were so accommodating. The units are modern and immaculately clean with the best beds! The location is right in the middle of town, so no need to get the car out. We’ll definitely be back.
