Excellent location with the 100 bus from the airport that will drop you off almost right at the front door of the hotel

we had a girls trip for the christmas markets, this hotel was in an excellent location and the reception staff was very helpful

Great hotel in Budapest, room was clean with a good amount of space. Lots of dining options nearby, buffet breakfast each morning contained a wide selection of choices and changed each day meaning there was always new things to try.

Good hotel. Very central area close to metro and restaurants. My only complaint is that the breakfast was lacking especially for such a hotel. No selection of eggs, just mushy "scrambled " eggs. Fruits were very basic. A lot of sugary pastries though. Room was reasonably spacious. Bed was very comfy and the bathroom was not cramped. Generally, I would recommend this hotel particularly for it's good location

Centrally located Hotel

stayed a couple of nights and the location is very central, room is clean and have all the necessities. The only thing i am not keen on is outside at night you can hear people shouting even in the middle of the night or early morning which is beyond the hotel’s control. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety and refilled everytime. The hotel is just a few steps to the transport to Budapest airport.

Everything was okay. Housekeeping took all day to get to clean room, and only re-made bed. Older style building. Breakfast was adequate.

Knowing that we'd be visiting in the midst of summer, we specifically sought out hotels that offered air-conditioning. Carat Boutique was one of those hotels, but we should have known something was up when we walked in the room to find a lonely oscillating fan in the middle of our "air-conditioned" room. No matter how we adjusted it, our AC didn't want to push out air that was anything but marginally cooler than the 35 degree weather. We told the front desk multiple times, and they just insisted it "should be working" without checking or offering a replacement room. We spent two sweaty nights sleeping in our underwear on top of the sheets. Though it wasn't all bad (the location is excellent and the drink bar/breakfast amenities are also good) and our friends who came on the trip and stayed on other floors (we were on the top floor and thus getting the full brunt of the sun) said their rooms were much cooler, I'd suggest anybody thinking of traveling in summer either A) confirm their room is not on the top floor, or B) look elsewhere.

Excellent location. Friendly and helpful reception (thanks Botund). Safe, very clean, comfortable. Yes, the pillow is too large, and they give you one that is too small! lol! The breakfast was much better than expected with a wide choice of hot and cold items. The pastries were particularly delicious. Such easy access from airport with the 100E AirPort Express bus 2 minutes away. Would definitely choose again.

Great hotel

Hotel is in a very good position for visiting places. Staff extremely helpful. Rooms were comfortable. Add bonus of being able to have coffee and juices mid day until 7pm.

The property is within a few minutes walk from one of the main transport hubs. I never needed to use any public transport other than the airport as it is very central to Budapest's major tourist areas. The breakfast room is very large so no need to arrive at non-desirable times to get a table. The coffee machine open at all times is a nice refreshment available as desired.

Great centrally located hotel

Nice centrally located hotel. Quick check in and helpful staff. The only thing to not make it the more stars is that it was rather hot and stuffy in the rooms and no AC available because it was ‘winter’. However opening the window allows all of the street noise so it’s choosing between what’s worse.

Inaccurate room description

Overall I think it's a nice spot for two nights at most BUT, if you're planning to stay longer definitely you need look for different options, it can get really noisy during the night. Furniture and bathroom are in bad condition I don't know if it has to do with humidity issues but you can easily see mud on the walls

Excellent value for money, will stay again

Excellent location close to everything we wanted. Easy check in, helpful staff, lovely quiet room. Breakfast was excellent and the free hot drinks and juice during the day was a great bonus. Very warm throughout the hotel. Overall excellent value for money and would stay again.

Good base for sight seeing

Good mid range hotel great location

Mid priced hotel in the centre. Great location. The airport shuttle bus is literally 100 yards away as is the underground. 5-10 min walk to the river. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and in pretty good condition. Baggage room available which we used before check in and after checkout so we could sight see. Breakfast was nice!

the hotel location is very good, the cleaning is a bit less, towels are not replace every day. the room is very "old" with old accessibilities, no usb chargers, no available electricity socket for charging near the bad. the refrigerator is small and full of old minibar stuff instead of place for a cold water bottle. there is an option for cold drink during the day in the dining room, but most of the time, there is no clean glasses.

Brilliant location, very central and right next to the bus terminal from the airport. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely room, I booked a room at the back of the hotel and it was extremely quiet. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast very good continental style.

Perfectly located, well maintained and attentive staff that are happy to help. Our only criticism was that housekeeping was very hit and miss; shame as everything else was very good.

One night in BUD

Enjoyed a night at the Carat Boutique Hotel. The location is great for exploring the city. It is on a busy side street that appears to be popular among pedestrians after hours. Nice breakfast buffet in the covered interior courtyard. Would stay there again :-)

Beautiful boutique in a prime location!

The hotel was lovely. A modern boutiques hotel. Staff were great, and very helpful, both prior to and after arrival. Lovely rooms, very comfy beds. Breakfast was great, with a selection of hot and cold foods, toast, cereals and pastries. Unlimited soft drinks, tea and coffees available 24/7. Location is the best in the city. Everything from transport links, to major attractions, bars to restaurants and clubs, shops and massage parlours. Everything is on your door step!

A lovely Hotel, friendly staff easy to get to.

A lovely hotel in a great location. Stayed here for 4 nights with my two sisters. Beds were comfortable and our room was nice and clean. It had everything we needed. Toiletries, sewing kit, free safe and tea and coffee facilities. We were next to the lift which we thought may be noisy but we never heard it at all. There was some noise from the street outside as the evening went on but it didn't really bother us. Earplugs were provided but we didn't need them. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection. Hot drinks and juice were available throughout the day in the dinning room free of charge. There is a cake shop/cafe attached to the hotel with delicious cakes and lovely staff. Check in and out was really quick and straightforward. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was able to borrow a phone charging cable for the duration of my stay when I forgot to bring one. A very easy hotel to find. It is round the first corner at the last stop from the 100E airport bus (2200 HUf each way ) and the return stop is on the opposite side of the road. A great hotel in a handy location. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel Carat

The hotel is in a perfect location. It is clean comfortable spacious and with everything you need. Breakfast is buffet style and it’s perfect to set you up for day. Only used the hotel to sleep there is so much to see/do in Budapest so it was perfect for us and would stay again.

Firstly - best location ! Close to all the spots in the Jewish Qtr of Budapest. The other pro is their breakfast - a huge variety of dishes and very tasty - so take the B B option for sure. However , they do advertise "air conditioning" and early October the cooling option in the air conditioning was not available. Opening the window facing the street was not a good solution because of the noise. The manager did compensate us for that. Otherwise - excellent hotel in down town Budapest

Very clean modern hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Well located in the tourist district but away from the large tourist hotels. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Budapest.

Wonderful Stay, Will Return

A wonderful stay at the hotel. Staff were friendly, buffet breakfast was filled with variety and facilities were good. Bathroom was slightly dated, but overall a comfortable stay in a great location near airport bus and in the city centre.

The location is absolutely perfect if you want to be in the middle of all happenings. Place was spotlessly clean. Staff was very kind and accommodating. You can’t bring coffee up to the room from their restaurant but Starbucks is a few step down from the hotel. Definitely a 5 star experience!!!

Very convenient location, close to St. Stephan Bascilica. Staff was very helpful and the breakfast was great. Having coffee and juice available was a nice bonus.

Excellent location in the heart of Budapest

Amazing breakfast, very accommodating for a request for a room in a quiet location - the room was super comfortable and quiet, the AC didn’t manage the 100F heat too well but we were thankful for it! Lots of options for eating close by, easy access to airport bus and great base for seeing the city.

It is more a 3.5 start hotel, the breakfast had nice offer but all very cheap quality (old fruits) Rooms are decorated in a cheap way with painting that you can find in nail salon. What make this hotel deserve 4 start review is the location, the cleanliness of the hotel and the price.

Perfectly placed to walk to many of Budapest’s attractions. Buda Castle and The Fisherman’s Bastion all with in 30 minutes via the famous Chain Bridge. 3 Christmas markets really close. 1 3 minutes away, next in via Fashion Street and then the one by St Stephens. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of buffet breakfast.

Very conveniently located to sites and the river. Room was clean and the included breakfast offered several choices of food and coffee types. The only negative was that is was difficult to contain the shower water within the stall. Curtain did not extend to the floor.

The property itself was good. The staff were great especially Heni at the front desk. Lots of good info.

Budapest stay at the Carat

Perfect location - 5 or 10 min walk from everything. Free breakfast buffet has everything. Staff was excellent, very friendly. When going back to Budapest we’ll be staying at the Carat again.

Easy stay at the Carat. Room layout is a bit ackward.... very squished main room and lots of underutilizes space I. The hall. Lacking a plug on one side of the bed so I had to charge my devices in the washroom. Strong cleaning odour. A staff space was across the hall so we were awakened each morning around 730 am with chatter. Location is central staff are pleasant, breakfast is good. Serviceable but not my perception of a 4 star property’s

Boutique hote fairly well located. The reception is severely understaffed, leading to unanswered phone calls and queues. Breakfast was disappointing. We would not go back.

Hiden gem of Budapest

The hotel met all of our needs .it was close to all the main attractions and more than enough restaurants..the best Vietnamese little restaurant.. And a self serve laundry a few doors down. Excellent service by the staff..The receptionist even called our taxi as we were travelling to the airport to make sure we got out of the traffic in time...This was way beyond expected service by this wanderful lady...Would recommend this hotel above any large hotel in the area and would most definitely go there again if i return to Budapest

Fab location

Great service and nice hotel in superb location. Beds were super comfy. Only down-side was the air con which just didn’t cool the room enough but we were there in a heat wave. Appreciated the helpful blind receptionist who let us use the gym and shower and kept our luggage when we had an afternoon departure.

Really liked this hotel. A wonderful boutique hotel ideally located within walking distance of many of the major sights. Super clean, tastefully done, secure and comfortable. Staff were excellent. And the buffet breakfast was simplly outstanding. More than abundant amd way more than expected. Will definitely come back.

Very poor breakfast no healthy options, terrible coffee quality. It looks like there was a lot of choices, but if you want to eat something healthy there was only few raw vegetables and fruits. Bathroom tiles have mold on it. For $150 per night the overall cleanliness was on the low level, including the gym.

The staff was beyond fabulous! We had a unique situation pop up and the front desk was very helpful. The next time we saw one of the employees who had helped, she asked how the situation had resolved itself. This was one of the most positive hotel experiences I have ever had.
