Very beautiful and in the middle of town

The property has poor customer service. Hot water was intermittent. Shower drain was clogged. Issues reported were not resolved.

Good Hotel

The hotel was handy to the adoquin and close to a place where I had a meeting scheduled. The pool water was clean (not cloudy) but there was a lot of debris floating in it, ie, palapa grass pieces and a cigarette butt. The tv only had 3 Sky TV channels.

Quedé fascinada con los servicios

Worse hotel I’ve stayed in. Terrible customer service. Only got two towels, for three of us. We needed more toilet paper on our third day, I asked the receptionist if they could give us more, he was very rude and said we could only get one in a day. Which they didn’t refill. Terrible place.

There was no refrigerator in the room. There was also bad conditioning.. didn’t work. Food service should be 24/7 not 8am-10pm

Tv never worked. Staff said they would work on it but nothing ever done and they didn’t communicate with us after we alerted the staff about it. Disappointing.

The staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms are very spacious. AC blows nice and cold. Wonderful pool with a bar.

I didn’t like that the food service would take a long time and sometimes they would forget. Also, the internet was really slow. But other than that, everything was good!

The rooms have spider webs in the córners of the walls, doors. The ceiling fan dirty. The toilet no seat. When I asked about the toilet seat to one of the cleaning staffs. They said “the room is one of the economic room price”. I got so upset. The staff try to change the wording. I told him I didn’t pay cheap for the room.

At the reception they Charged xtra money

Very nice hotel located very close to the beach of Puerto Escondido, walking distance to "El Adoquin" comercial zone, with a great view to the sea from their restaurant, nice and clean rooms, nothing espectacular but with a nice balcony.

For the price, we were expecting a much nicer room.

Simple clean and safe with a view

A nice place well located . It is a mexican hotel so expect some oddities in the way things work but it is a safe clean hotel. Breakfast buffet is lacking but this is Mexico not Canada.

This is a tough one. Lots of good things and lots of bad things. That’s why I rated it average. The checkin was good, and the room was good, nothing to complain about. However, regarding the room, it did not have a refrigerator. I knew that before booking this trip. I was hoping for a little better service down at the pool area. After several calls to the receptionist desk, they finally sent Angel. Even though he had only 15 days of experience, he did a good job, taking care of me, and the other guests down at the pool. I ordered a cheeseburger from Angel, and it was delicious, exactly how I ordered it. My room had a balcony, but there was no table or chairs to sit on. The way everything else was going I decided to not even try to fix the problem. I checked out the following morning and the daytime receptionist couldn’t even give me a receipt or call a taxi. He gave me a piece of paper with instructions on it as to how to get a receipt online. He told me to walk down a very steep road, and I would be able to hail a cab from there, terrible. And if I had had a good experience there, I was planning to spend the rest of my three week vacation at that hotel. But sadly it was not to be. According to my very unofficial count, there were about 10 families there. And they did not have enough staff to handle them, even though the hotel has room for hundreds! 👎

Horrible stay at hotel, no power and water for more than 5 hrs.. I ended up getting another hotel. They didnt even gave a us a compensation. Will never come back.

Bad service, worse installations

I asked for towels since the second I got there. I called early the next day again, eventually I walked down where tow of the three girls where having a very pleasant conversation while some of us were still waiting for service.

A comfortable and basic place to stay no frills

Cool pool

Breakfast start late, Front desk staff needs more knowledge, Rooms do not provide glasses you have to go outside and purchase your own. Restaurant close at 8:0pm. Availing for towels was poor since you have to wait mostly 30 minutes.

Wish bar hours were longer and had a variety for breakfast options.

Not our type of place pool area dirty and garbage everywhere have to go to front desk for towels, in the room no Kleenex, no cups, no shower curtain, The overhead fan was shaking so bad you couldn’t use it.

The WORST PLACE EVER!!!!

The front desk attendant on arrival was very rude. I asked to speak to the manager and it was even worse, we just wanted a quiet room. Away from the street noise, it was impossible unless we pay more money. For us was a joke because you could tell the property was totally empty which was confirmed the next morning when we had breakfast and we stay waiting for a tour guide for about 2hrs. and nobody else showed up. Anyway, the room was dirty and they had to replace the sheets, no hot water, no telephone, dirty towels that have to be replaced. The bed mattress was like made of rocks. The curtains in the window was full of holes, no air conditioning and it was hot as hell. We have traveled all over the world, and stayed and so many different hotels, but this is by far the lowest of the lowest on every single aspect. I do not recommend this place not even to my enemy (I might have one). Please do you self a favor and there is so many other properties in better areas. In our second night we stay at the Rackaway Hotel and that place was really great.

Probably worst job of housekeeping and maintenance that I have seen. Black mold in first shower. No mattress pads on beds. Floor tiles filthy.

fantastic pool and pool lounge area! rooms are amazingly large and very nice at least on the 3rd floor and out towards water views. nice balcony to the view beds were great very nice place if you get the good rooms its probably the best deal around for the price/convenience not in an area you'd want to do much in, but an easy daytime walk to the supermarket which saved on cabs they will call a cab for you from the lobby though and its cheap to anywhere

Not recommend it

When we arrived to our double bed room only one bed had pillowcases and the bed that had them were stained with makeup. The bathroom has mold on the walls. Bed was also pretty hard not comfortable. There was a rock in our hotel breakfast. Workers force you to give them tip and will follow you to your room if you dont tip. They cleaned out room and left the balcony door wide open with the curtains open. After staying from 2/10-2/14 they stole my Louis Vuitton sandals that had been in my bag the whole time. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

Is agreat location , alot things is a walk distance.

Hotel was dirty. Pool was dirty. Bed sheets were stained. Cigarettes butts lying all around the poor and pool area. Most of the gym equipment doesn’t work. Some staff at reception were unhelpful. Booked an ocean view room. First two nights we couldn’t sleep as it was so noisy outside & there was a large vent in the bathroom wall to outside so felt like we were sleeping outside. We were moved room to a non ocean view room & were not refunded the difference in price. Wifi was decent.

Hotel looks nice and fancy, but the rooms are terrible and looks Plain the rooms need color and new furniture, rooms have old looking furniture and very uncomfortable beds I couldn’t sleep through the night you could feel the bed springs and the pillows are terrible felt like bunch bundle of cotton hurt my neck and had slight back pain due to the bed springs, the bed sheets were dirty like the were not change. I paid for 2 nights but I check out the next morning. Sad how the hotel looks beautiful from the outside but cheap furniture and uncomfortable beds does not give a good appearance.

The hotel is at really poor condition. No hot water, not working TV, dirty, towels look like rugs with holes and only positive factor- a view.

The view is true to what you see in the ad. The breakfast was delicious. The staff great. The room, very rough, needs remodel. Only two bath towels, no hand towels. No balcony furniture. Had to move indoor furniture outdoors to have a seat. Not worth the $70.00 USD we paid. For that price one could stay in a much better place,

Starting to show it's age

The staff were excellent. The rooms were clean, but the hotel is starting to show it's age. Hotel needs newer furniture (or at least paint it) and needs new drapes and bedspreads. Food in the restaurant was expensive... but lot's of restaurants in town and along the beach area that are good. We loved the Caracol's pool, but not the hard wooden beach lounge chairs.

the Caracol is a special place-not too “deluxe” but not too basic to be enjoyable, and the location is perfect! The view of the sea from the hotel, and especially the restaurant patio, is unparalleled .The hotel caters primarily to vacationing Mexicans, but as a “gringo” I felt welcome. The only downside is that maintenance runs a bit behind,for instance a double curtain was needed to block out the balcony light that could not be extinguished, which was provided by staff when requested, the doorknob was loose,etc. The staff is outstanding, and ready to help make this a great stay.

Room was very big with a partial sea view. The overall property seemed a bit old or not really in the best state. Breakfast had very limited options. Also location wise is quite in between - quite tricky to walk to the beach or the much nicer Zicatela area. Staff wasn't able to speak one single word in english, which I find surprising in hospitality.

All was acceptable, however, the service was slow and inattentive. Pool side service not available, this was what we wanted.

Great location but the service and amenities arent

The view was absolutely gorgeous! The restaurants has great food and the service is excellent. However, we had an issue with our room. The shower didn’t go all the way and there was barely any water coming out of it. The zinc’s cold water wasn’t working (it was 95 degrees and it was too hot to use the warm water), and the mini fridge wasn’t working either. When I approached the front desk about it and requested a different room, one of them closed their eyes and looked away. Then the other one was the one that told me that she was going to try to contact the maintenance gentleman as soon as she could. After that vague response I went back an hour later because I really needed to shower and she said he was busy but made no effort to contact him again until I told her I was going to wait until she got a response from him and that’s when she finally called him. We still had to wait half an hour until he got there. He was really nice and he fixed mostly everything. The shower was clogged so the water would come out outside the bathroom and when I told the front desk they said it was a common problem but it was not fixed... Its a great location but I wouldn’t stay here again. Plus they’re not very friendly to foreigners in terms of their customer service (only at the front desk)

Terrific stay with ocean view.

The hotel was really nice. We were nervous after reading some of the negative reviews, but we found everything to be excellent. The Wi-fi worked great in our room and we were expecting it to only work in the lobby. Great fast glass elevators. Nice pool with towels provided. The ocean view from the room was awesome. There was even a little refrigerator provided. The walk into town and the Playa Marinero was less than 10 minutes downhill, so it was a little tougher on the way back up.

Very nice facility near the main beach/port. Large, comfortable rooms with prompt and courteous service. The swimming pool is NOT deep. It's fine if you want to just cool off or do a few laps but at 4 ft. of depth if you jump in (or worse, dive in) you will strike bottom. There are a few expensive, OK dining places on the main tourit corridor but to get good and tasty food at reasonable prices you need to get a couple miles out of that area

Is not worth it

Unfortunately this hotel is not what you see online, the building is very old and moldy the rooms have mold and are not clean, the pool was dirty but staff was very nice I would not recoment this hotel is not worth the price

Overall the property was in good condition. The staff were excellent. They went out of their way to help us in Transportation places to eat and where to shop

Terrible, dirty, poor customer service

If you get a discount room, they will shoce you in the corner in a room that hasnt been cleaned. We had a used water bottle under a pillow, our electricity didnt work a d our AC didnt work. The restaurant customer service was poor and the restaurant by to pool was so filthy. It was just gross. We will never ever go there again even if they paid us to stay there.

Horrible place look else where

Pictures are so deceiving, the hotel is poorly runned. Staff needs to attend hospitality classes. They aren't friendly at all. I asked for menu to order food at pool and they never brought it back. We order room service we had to cancel because it took close to an hour and they didn't apologize, they just said they were too busy. The bathrooms near the pool were super dirty and stunk like urine

Nice location, spectacular view

The rooms were spacious and clean. However, the room key cards would constantly cease to function especially if they were placed near a cell phone. The restaurant on the top floor had a decent view of the beach and the food was good. However, the restaurant offered more Mexican type food than American type food. We visited on off peak season, so a lot of the services were unavailable like the buffet style restaurant and the bar by the pool. The gym and the laundromat were open though.

Has potential

This hotel looks decent online however in person it's dated. It's an ok room for an overnight trip but not a resort by any means. Pretty small and plain. Rooms are dated and resort was pretty dead with zero activities. We just stayed one night and I was ready to go the next day. If you're looking for a decent bed to sleep in, this is ideal. If you're looking for an actual resort, look somewhere else.

El hotel se siente muy viejo y algo descuidado, falta limpieza. Las toallas están muy viejas. Las cortinas muy viejas. Hay habitaciones con cortinas rotas. En el bar de la alberca está todo desordenado y a veces ni gente hay para atenderte. Por fuera y con luces se ve bonito el hotel la TV solo tiene 2 canales. Los aparatos del gym están todos oxidados y algunos están rotos.

Muy buen servicio instalaciones ok, solo el elevador que no funciona

Tuve dos reservaciones en este hotel y las dos primeras noches el cuarto en malas condiciones y la cama muy incómoda me tocó con ventana a la calle y entró una cucaracha y salió bajo la puerta en ese cuarto la habitación y baño se veían descuidados. En la segunda reserva el cuarto mejoró se veía más cuidado y más amplio fue en el segundo piso el desayuno muy rico

Me gustó la tranquilidad del hotel, las habitaciones y las camas muy cómodas , el personal es amable y las instalaciones muy buenas , solo no me gustó que llevarán acabo las reglas que tienen ya que en la alberca se supone que no deberían de hacer tanto ruido con sus bocinas y estuvieron algunos huéspedes con el volumen fuerte y se supone que no podían y también hay que avisa de que uno debe revisar las cosas como almohadas sábanas y toallas ya que si están manchadas y no te diste cuenta te la cobran y creo que eso se debería de decir al instalarte en el hotel por parte de los que te atienden lo tienen escrito pero no estába a la vista ..

El aire acondicionado no servía, no enfriaba

Expedía no ayudó con un inconveniente, no regresó llamada de apoyo… la administración no tiene la atención requerida con sus clientes “¿en que puedo ayudarlos?” Mucho ruido en la noche, un domingo a las & am haciendo trabajos de albañilería y golpeando pisos…. No recomendable hasta que no corrijan la administración…

Todo bien, incluso la playa estaa 7 mins a pie. Solo la televisión podría mejorar en cuestión de el satélite.

Es un lugar adecuado para descansar y disfrutar del ambiente de playa. Hace falta personal para limpiar las áreas comunes, los jardines y patios que están en la alberca.

En mi habitación había hormigas en el lavamanos, y a pesar de que se notificaba que no todas las habitaciones tenían tv por cable, fue un poco decepcionante contar solo con 3 canales. La alberca y el gimnasio están increíbles y el personal es muy amable.

Mi opinion en base anlo observado

El hotel bonito, el check in y check out terrible, hacen esperar demasiado tiempo, 1 sola persona para ese proceso. En cuanto a la limpieza, por boca de ellos mismos, no saben lavar ningun tipo de mancha en toallas o sabanas, y aprovechan.para cobrarte una cantidad alta por cada articulo, ademas de que no protegen y violan la privacidad de los huespedes informando abiertamente enfrente de las personas que se encuentran en el lobby las supuestas faltas de cuidado con las sabanas o toallas, ya que por lo.mencionado anteriormente hay filas bastante largas durante 30 a 45 minutos para el chek in o check out. Poca variedad de alimentos en el buffet de desayuno Atencion para comida y cena bastante buena, buen precio de los alimentos y bien sabor

Le falta mantenimiento

Pase vacaciones en la habitación con vista al mar y la verdad nos encantó a mí y a mi esposo, instalaciones limpias y muy amable todo el personal, pagamos el desayuno bufette y todo súper rico y recomendable, lo único que encuentro un poco mal es que en la noche la avenida para cruzar a la zona de restaurantes está muy solo, pero de ahí en fuera todo queda muy cerca.
