Helpful and courteous staff. Room was always clean and outfitted with clean towels and other amenities. Access to shopping mall is a big plus.

Great Ambiance

Nice hotel and staff .

I’m not sure why this property has such a high rating. This is far beyond the scope of any 4 or 5 star hotel that I have ever visited. The rooms are small and not clean. We arrived to used bedsheets that had blood and urine on them. The towels and face cloths had hair on them and smelled of baking soda and vinegar. Upon raising the concerns about this with the staff, they took nearly an hour to come change the sheets. The hotel staff is very rude and unfriendly, they never speak or greet you upon leaving or arriving. The room service is less than adequate. The food is unappetizing and arrived cold. Our orders were messed up several times. We also had the privacy sign placed on our room door while we left so housekeeping would not enter while we were gone. As we left for the day, we encountered one of the housekeeping employees in the hallway and she asked if we wanted our room cleaned. We politely declined and proceeded to leave. Upon returning to our room later that evening, we found the privacy sign completely removed from the door and the room was cleaned against our wishes. Some items were missing & misplaced. Never has this ever happened at any of our hotel stays in our life. The Marriott has no respect, regard, or decorum for their guests or guest privacy. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I would give my experience negative 20 stars if I could. Save yourself the headache and the money. There are much better hotels in Cape Town that respect their customers.

Marriott was a 5 star hotel which meant our stay was very comfortable, staff were very helpful, polite and professional. Especially Ronin from concierge, Jen, David the duty manager, Grant from car valet, and Azola on front reception desk, thank you all for accommodating us and helping us in every way. Our holiday was very memorable and we would definitely return again.

Great property. Restaurants on site as well as room service. Century city not to be confused with city Centre (whoops my fault but just an Uber ride away).

This Marriott has THE best breakfast buffet that I've ever had! The staff is really attentive and constantly checks up on you to make sure you've got everything you need. The service of this hotel is 5 star. The mall across the street from it also has everything you would need-even fresh pressed juices at one of the mall's healthy eating options. There's also a really great spa if you feel you need it. Overall I'd return to this hotel and choose to stay only here while visiting Capetown. Truly a great experience!

I enjoyed the 5 star hospitality at this hotel. The rooms were beautiful, food was great and staff was very nice.

Didn't enjoy the second class treatment

They operate as if they are trained to serve white people only. My group of friends would never get greeted by the conveyance front desk staff, but a white person coming in right behind us would be greeted instantly by multiple people. And David the evening manager needs a refresher in customer service. He was rude to my friends on several occasions. The breakfast area staff were all wonder and extremely pleasant. They were the highlight of staying at this hotel. The facilities were clean. There was no robe and no slippers which is uncommon for a 5 star hotel.

Hospitality was amazing

We experienced Power Outages, which we weren't told about. There were moments of complete darkness. If communicated, we would've been more understanding. The room was close to the generator which caused lots of noise all through the night. Service to address issues from front desk unresponsive until further followups. Definitely a Major let down.

It was an excellent stay and the whole staff was amazing. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give them an 11.

The staff were very friendly. Nice rooms, always clean, and the location is great due to the proximity of some businesses, and for those who like shopping, Canal Walk has every shop you could think of and open till 21h00.

Amazing hotel

No comfortable couch/chair to sit and have a cup of coffee. Too noisy generators running too long. It was disappointing.

The hotel is great. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The amenities are great and the pool area is great. I do have one concern which was who has access to the pool? It looked like the pool was open to not just hotel guests. Also, most of the staff was friendly except for some but other than that I enjoyed the stay. Will more than likely book here again next time I am in Cape Town.

Beautiful hotel. However, the he service was very cold. The staff were not friendly right from check in and seemed unbothered. I didn’t feel at home during my stay. Trying to order food in the restaurant and lobby seemed like they were doing me a favour. It’s a shame that such a good brand like the Marriott would have such terrible service.

Overall, we liked the property and staff at breakfast was super friendly and anticipated our needs. Found some left over food in the safe upon checking into our room. Otherwise, good location and time well spent.

Amazing hotel, fantastic facilities, pity we weren't there longer to make use of the spa. The hotel was fairly centrally located in century city. Amazing service with friendly staff. Highly recommend.

My first trip to this property was out of this world. Not sure what happened maybe the pandemic happened... But cleanliness and up keep have definitely gone down. The free drinking water in the room wasn't there the one we got was only enough for one person. No slippers or the smaller touches of perfection. Overall disappointed as I brought my daughter this time and she was disappointed so was I...

The location was very good. The room was really modern and cool. Staff was friendly. Only thing we didn't like was the room thermostat seemed a bit off. As we could not totally control our room temperature. It is in a quieter part of town that does heave shops and restaurants.

What I liked more is the location. What I didn't like is having water far a way from the toilet.

Nice, safe and pleasant place to be

It is a very nice place to be but, their service (personnel) must be improved especially with room service and during meal time.

Everything including surroundings is relaxing and beautiful. Tourism attraction. However, one thing that was discouraging is the design and installation of the toilet pot. In the 1st room, 317 the toilet pot was tilting and hanging loose, leaking over night. The technician did come duting the night to fix somd screws, but it was still leaking and tilting.We were transfered another room the next day, which was great service for us. I recommend to have toilet pots installed on the floor instead of hanging on the wall. However our stay at the hotel was excellent. My feedback is just my opinion for the eafety of everyone.

Disappointed in Hotels.com

The room which we booked and paid for was NOT the room we were given. Buffet breakfast is NOT buffet breakfast like we were told, the waitress said we can only choose 1 meal on the menu. Very disappointing as this was a 2nd year wedding Anniversary celebration.

The hotel staff were awesome, took care of every need I came across. Chante was superb at the front desk along with her supervisor Lise. Ingrid along with the many in the food & hospitality department at the hotel were great. The view, YES, every morning being about to see an unobstructed view of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean was totally unexpected but very much welcomed and appreciated…couldn’t ask for a better suite. Last but certainly not least, the on-site Life Day Spa, something that definitely has to be experienced! One more tidbit of appreciation, the Canal Walk Mall situated directly behind the hotel, walking distance of maybe 5 minutes to get to and from, spectacular.

Always love staying here, especially for business trips. Convenient, clean, Vibe, room ambiance. Negatives on this trip: a few shortfalls (maybe due to the hotel just re-opening): no complimentary water in room, shower water was cold, got Luke warm for a few seconds, back to cold. Purple lights were flashing (didn’t work - which is part of the ambiance of the room) WiFi signal was horrible, cellphone reception was really bad, made a local call from room (less then a minute) which costed R35.. Overall I got a good deal for the hotel price this time, service was good, but overall, the negatives were the first time I’ve experienced on my stays at this hotel. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would just let them know about these issues during my stay, I didn’t get to do this because I had long work days.

I found the staff be unprofessional, additional tax was added to the room that was not advertised, check out bill was not provided I was asked to talk to Expedia to get it, I need the bill for my company expense claim, front office assistant manager wasn't helpful when I asked for help checking in, I was basically told I shouldn't have booked through Expedia and through the hotel direct if I needed help, the hotel and pool were undergoing renovation and I got a notification post booking to which the hotel refused to ammend my booking duration, blamed it on Expedia and get feedback from Expedia that the hotel are refusing to ammend my duration or shorten my stay, ended up leaving earlier but paying for my full stay. The bed wasn't comfortable, the room had a very weird pink florescent light ambience, the bed was not comfortable at all. Not what one would expect out of a Marriot hotel.

Pool and entire bar / outdoor deck was closed unexpectedly / without announcement, voiding the entire reason I booked this hotel. It’s the star of the show, and without it, this place is unremarkable. It’s also far from everything else. Room had broken shades, broken toilet flusher, wasn’t fully clean (almost needs a renovation), and I couldn’t sleep in the morning owing to how loud the doors slam shut (rattles the floor and you can hear it clear across the hall). Breakfast wasn’t special (go into town), and dinner was not up to snuff. Management had plenty of words of apology, but no action. Offered me the equivalent of $25, which is a joke for foreigners.

My stay was amazing, however the breakfast could improve.

Friendly smiles with no follow through

Staff are very willing and friendly and then no follow through. Was asked if I wanted still or sparkling water in room, never arrived. Was told I needed to pay R3,000 deposit for the mini bar which I did, then after s long meeting I get back to the room at 9:30 pm and no water, no mini bar stock. Phoned to a friendly front desk and they said they would send someone and 30 minutes later no one came. I phoned again and they apologized and eventually someone arrived with no stock and asked what I wanted in the mini bar. I could carry on, just very unprofessional! The carpets are stained and I found long blond hairs in my sink which also didn’t drain properly. TV selection was poor and the tv remote was low on battery power so it was tedious to change the channel. Very mediocre, not 5 star.

The staff are exceptionally friendly. The property is conveniently located with easy access to amneties. Get breakfast included in your booking if you can. It is well worth it. It is a full buffet affair. If you are short for time make use of MK travel agents located in the hotel to arrange for a tour. Ask for Shamil as your tour guide. He is a walking encyclopedia

A romantic escape'

The stay was amazing, beautiful decor in bedroom and hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful since we had arrived at hotel. The room was arranged so beautifully with a romantic ambience as we entered my wife was pleasantly surprised and exstatic. We both had an awesome weekend. Thank you.

Good quality, but nothing exceptional. The room (allocated to us) was semi-spacious, clean and well serviced. The modern look is enticing. Service is good and staff are professional and accommodating. Quality of food is excellent. I would recommend NOT getting a room overlooking The Hillsong Church since it could be a bit rowdy (on 3rd floor) when the people attending church play soccer in the car park.

This hotel is everything and more than what most people have said. The service is impeciable and hotel is really beautiful. You have the nicest shopping centre near and close to all attractions. Staff are top class.

Great hotel with warm friendly staff

Hotel was great, room size was generous and all amenities were available. The receptionist gave us an early check in as our flight arrived in the morning. Infact all the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. The Knife restaurant serves excellent steaks at a very good price. The hotel is out of the city (25 minutes) and we stayed there as we had a conference in the neighbourhood. But they have a huge mall in the next building and a amusement park across the road. The area was safe and we never had any problems.
