Very nice short stay in an elegant space. Really enjoyed the convenience of the surrounding area as well, with the Woolworths grocery and all the restaurants and coffee shops literally within a 30 second walk proximity.
No heater during winter
It was winter, there was NO heater, rooms were FREEZING
Gorgeous suite and superb location
Location in the heart of Green Point is the best in Cape Town. Building had many cute eateries on site and there was a Woolworths grocery right next door as well. Luxurious property that allows you to spread out and get uber comfortable.
Pristinely clean and beautiful property. Will gladly stay again
This is not a hotel, its a weird setup where it feels like someone bought this building and is renting out the rooms and hired a private security company to be at the reception just for security and nothing else. Anything we wanted we had to speak to our ‘agent’, no one else could help us with anything not even the simple things. And this agent is 1 guy trying to run the whole show alone just running around and cant keep up. We needed help in the room with some issues and he kept telling us im there in 2 min, im on my way, 5 min ill be there and finally we waited for him for 3 hours I do not recommend unfortunately
Was not a very good water leaking from the floor had to spend the whole weekend until check-out with a bucket in the middle of the kitchen to avoid the drippings to go all over the counter and floor. Power for the AC and stoves goes away for long periods of the day due to building power surcharge. The property is nice but needs urgent fixings.
Stunning property in a fabulous location
Beautiful property in excellent location near everything. Wonderful transportation options available. Beautiful pool and waterfront setting. Also full load-shedding backup in all the WHosting suites, which is so important.

Fraud and scheming , that’s all I have to say
The most horrible stay I have ever stayed in my life , because my family and I were changed to the place I never paid to. No service, no cleanest, no towels or clean bed lines for the whole of our stay . David Watts never responded at all to our concerns , just read the messages and stay quite and I paid a lot of money to stay there .

I loved my stay-excellent apartment with every convenience- easy check in- check out. Excellent location with lots of great restaurants and shops and close to both the waterfront and CBD.
Great location and super comfortable rooms.
The WHosting property excluded breakfast. I made enquiry prior and it was overlooked. Only on asking Warren he indicated it was excluded despite being in the settings that it is included. Plus points for booking in early but its an apartment stay set up - not a hotel. No view of the mountain. Obscured Large apartment. Entry door is noisy
The accommodation itself was fine. On our last night the fire alarm went off in error. It was what happened next that means I am giving this property a 1 star rating. We followed the fire exit signs only to find a locked door at the end of the exit. We retraced our steps to follow a different exit sign that took us out into the car park. Here the gates were locked, stopping us exiting onto the road. We re-entered the building (something you should never have to do) to follow another fire exit and were eventually directed out of the building by the kitchen staff. I have raised this with Expedia and suggested that they should not send people to this property until they have satisfied themselves it is safe. At the time of writing this I have yet to receive a satisfactory response from Expedia.
Fantastic stay and no load shedding!
Had a fabulous time at the Royale, suites were spacious, clean and well equipped. Plenty to do in both the building and the area and so much within an easy walking distance. And the best part of the whole stay is that there was NO LOAD SHEDDING (rolling power outages). This was the only property during our stay that was not affected and absolutely everything in both the suite and the building worked as normal, so there was no impact at all.

Spacious rooms and great facility (kitchen utensils and even washing machine) Furniture was also nice. Staff was very welcoming and helpful.

Disappointing
The place was good but absolutely no service, don’t come clean the premises, don’t offer extra blankets, especially when travelling with family they don’t offer no cleaning service and unable to assist!
The price is reasonable however, the appliances and cutlery were dusty and dirty which results in you feeling uncomfortable. The bar chairs were not fully functioning which added to the discomfort.
I have stayed here 3 times before it changed managmenged. This was my fourth and last time i will be staying here. For this trip I travelled with my 2 sisters and my 11 month olf baby. The first apartments they gave us smelt of cigarette, the smell was no intense that even opening the window could not work (and they claim all thier apartments are non smoking). They then moved us to another apartment (after waiting for an hour for the host to come) at 9pm and there was no electricity by the time the host arrived, as cape town is going through an electricity shortage and there is usually no electricity at night. When the electricity came back we saw that thr new apartment they moved us to was dirty, the foor, carpet, bed sheets and towels were all filthy. We informed the host who called a cleaner to come the next day but she came without a vacuum and could not vancum the carpet which was full of dust. The cleaner then told us to use the dryer as there were no clean dry sheets. We used the dryer and the next day our unit was the only one that did not have electricity all for us to find out that each apartment had a pay as you go electricity meter and given we had usedthe dryer wehad run out of electricity. The host was very reluctant of toping up the electricity meter even though it was their fault for putting us in an dirty apartment. Eventually the host topped up the electricy and told us not to use the heating until we leave and did not care that i was with a baby.
Great location, very comfortable furnishings. Bath overhead light/fan did not work, shower needed major grout cleaning. Wish someone had notified us with times of daily power outages.

First time back in almost 2 years and nothing has changed and that is a good thing as it was just as wonderful as we remember.
Most prestigious building and penthouse
Without question the most impressive building in Cape Town that simply oozes class and curbside appeal. The ocean view penthouse itself was just as glorious and our family had an incredible stay. January is an amazing time to visit CT
The rooms are not serviced and you need to pay extra for that. This was not mentioned anywhere in the advert. An argument ensued when I insisted this is expected with a 5 star hotel. Finally it was given to me as an exception. The room itself is old. The bedroom wall had scratches and plaster missing. The balcony doors have laminate peeling off them. The gym and pool were being renovated. The Wi-Fi was slow. The location is amazing.
Beautiful building. Fabulous view. Great location. All furnishings are tired. Towels threadbare. Understandable as COVID is having an impact, but not great at this price point. You’re paying for the location.
A fantastic place at a great price.
This apartment is like having a hotel suite at a single room price. The hotel itself is beautiful, secure (24 hour doorman), and looks like a 5 star hotel. It is close to everything you need in Cape Town. Great restaurants and shopping are right next door and it's just a quick stroll to the beach or VA waterfront. The apartment itself is well laid out and has everything you need, including Neflix and some good books. There is a small Juliet balcony that provides a great source of fresh air and a view of the waterfront. Our host, Chapson, met us within minutes of check in and provided all the information we needed for an fantastic stay. I would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful location and great room with lovely view. Wifi was a little slow and DSTV package wasn't premium package. but overall the room was top class! and met all our holiday requirements

Room 316 cleanness and condition, not 4 star, I would say 3 star max.Service was very pleasing, the host Chapson was very helpful and even moved me to a different room on the 2nd floor, but better and cleaner room. Good position of the hotel . Very nice view from the top deck. If you book make sure you know exactly what room you get.

Fantastic post lockdown stay!
What an amazing stay for our first trip post lockdown, so good to be out and about again and the Cape Royale was simply fantastic. Social distancing? Not a problem as the suites are absolutely and insanely huge and some of the most opulent around. We will be back regularly of that you can be sure

The hotel is in a very bad state. TV not working, Aircon not working - they moved us to another room. TV not working.

A Dream Hotel !!
All staff were friendly and helpful. The location close to the waterfront was handy for multiple restaurants and attractions. The city tour buses were just outside the property.Spacious and comfortable room. Safe and secure.

A great and safe place to stay
Perfect location at the V&A waterfront. One of the best breakfasts I had at hotel. Big and comfortable room.
This is not a hotel as it rental apartments. They clean once per week. I arrived and no power and no back up. The AC didn’t work for 3 days and woke up sweating. The Agent Chapson accuse me of not giving keys to front desk one mid night when they couldn’t find my keys. Then next morning they lady gave it to me - never an apology ... excuses in excuses. This use to be a good place and now changed with new folks looking after. Again - DO NOT rent here as you will regret for the price you paying over $400 ... would be happy to give me ordeal ... still a nice place but service and people makes it not recommended .

Amazing stay with very professional and yet personal levels of service at the same time. Suite was huge, you could play hide and seek in there and hide for days. Also cannot beat this hotels location as everything (including the V&A Waterfront) is literally on your doorstep. Certainly the best location out of all hotels I have stayed at in Cape Town. Big thumbs up from me.
Very impressive hotel and a wonderfully large suite with all required amenities. Wifi was fast and Netflix was a bonus. Lobby of the hotel has to be one of the most impressive I have seen in my time and pool deck was nice, though I did not have time for a swim. The only minor complaint was that the gym is quite small though it has all the basics that you need.
Fraud and Massive Misrepresentation
This is not a hotel but an apartment block with no amenities whatsoever. There are no hotel restaurants, no bar/lounges, no access to the gym, spa and business centre. The pictures displayed are not current. I have a voice recording confirming all of the above during a discussion between myself, the representative of WHosting and the representative of Cape Royale where this was all agreed and that I was due a refund as I had to book out due to the gross misrepresentation. I am waiting for an email address to forward this recording to someone at Hotels.Com to address this issue but to no avail at the current time. I am furious!
We booked this in the belief that we would be staying in a hotel - Cape Royale Hotel. But on arrival have found that it is an apartment in the Cape Royale building and not at all the standard we expected! The apartment is extremely dusty and the bed linen certainly does not appear to be clean let alone ironed. As its not part of the hotel we are not sure who to turn to. The person who showed us to our apartment is not being all that obliging and trying to assure me the apartment was cleaned yesterday. That may be but then it certainly was not done very well! It looks decidedly shabby and poorly maintained. Its definitely not what one expects when being sold a Cape Royale Luxury Suite! Extremely disappointed in Expedia''s false advertising.
