Candlewood is a solid 7 out of 10. Sheets had some stains on them.. Need cleaning in the corners of the bathroom. Coffee in the rooms needs work.

I reserved 2 beds and upon arrival they wanted to give me 1. There was blood and boogers on the wall. the bed was hard as a rock. There was not any towels they tried to move us to a room that was actually clean and there was not water pressure and there was not a working TV. The ac unit was spotty. There was toothpaste on the cabinets. No cleaning service was done. No refund or discount offered.

First room we checked in was infested with roaches and ants room was definitely not clean was put in another room and hot water didn’t work and still iffy about the room due to the previous room being nasty couldn’t really feel comfortable

The staff was generally very pleasant however not all on the same page. I believe the issues I encountered stemmed from my check in and although she was pleasant I feel she may have been overwhelmed and did not process my check in appropriately which caused confusion upon my check out. It wasn’t a bad hotel but right by the highway so you could hear cars flying by all night. Also the bedroom in the suite does not have black out curtains so light filters in as soon as the sun rises. The room was clean and again the staff were friendly.

We were just passing through lake Charles and enjoyed our stay. The staff was very welcoming on arrival.

Room was very nice queen bed, refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot, stove and dishes if you want to fix something for yourself. We are at Fiery crab right down the street. We slept very well. I would stay again

Everything looked okay, staff was fine. The fire alarm went off after showering only in my room, it kept going off til I walked down there to tell them about and was still going off when I came back. Then at midnight the fire alarm went off twice in the whole building for no reason. Then I went to check out and the lady didn’t even know how to check me out-couldn’t figure out how to print my receipt, stated she will email me the receipt but still haven’t received anything. Will never book here again.

The entry is clean and inviting. The rooms are clean. The AC works great. Plenty of room.

Our stay was great, we had the king suite and it was like a 1 bdrm. apartment. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. Alot better than our hotel we stayed at last time which right across the street. We will stay here again!

Did not even stay the night at this place. Walked in the room & there was a HUGE ROACH on the tv & the room smelled like old food. I simply left the key in the room & left this hotel immediately. This was the worse experience I have ever had at this brand of hotel. I will definitely NEVER return to this location.

At some point construcion will begin next to this property thats what makes the parking a little awkward. Might consider a little better training for new staff. Some parts look unfinished and only one elevator works. No breakfast of any type. Restaurants very close though.

I really enjoyed my stay!! I've recently had to visit Lake Charles every week for business, and this is the best hotel in the area so far. Loved it!!

There were hair on every unused bath towel. We asked for a new set and once again hair in allog the unused towels and all we got was an apology from the hotel.

WELL LOCATED AND CLEAN

There was mold in the restroom on the ceiling. I took a picture of it, other than that it was quiet and ok.

I was extremely happy with the stay and the room!!!! Extremely nice and comfy!!! Totally worth the price and the staff was super nice!!!!!

Be aware they place a hold over $200.00 for a 3 night stay on a debit card, despite telling you at the desk that there will be no additional charges placed on your card. If you have a late check-in be prepared to wait over 45 min for someone to show up at the desk to check you in! The cupboard is sparsely stocked.

The room was ok . They charged me $ 75.00 tax for my cat which they said nothing about when I made the reservations if I would have known this I would not have stayed there. They don't clean the room except for every 3 days. so you have to go down to the lobby and get your own towels and turn in your own towels and washcloths I will not be staying at candlewood again

Cleanliness of hotel. Found used syringes in parking lot in front of hotel. Had fight in parking lot of hotel with people who weren’t staying at the hotel.

Terrible

All staff members we came across were extremely friendly. My only complaints are that the restroom in the lobby was out of toliot paper all weekend and, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers in our room were empty. I did not bring it to anyone’s attention. If I had I’m sure they would’ve gladly filled them.

TV volume set so low that even at full volume could not hear the sound, in the room. coffee pot was dirty. kitchen was poorly stocked, 2 small glasses, no coffee cups. Otherwise pretty good value for the money. Be aware if you're only staying a couple of days, no room service till day 3.

I felt let down

I was only staying for a couple nights but was not a very impressed. When i was checked in the front desk agent did not let me know that my requested room was not availale. When i got upstairs i was given a queen bed when i booked a king. I called down 3 times to the front desk and no one answered. I then walked down and no one was there. I called out "hello" and received no reply. I waited about 15-20 minutes and no one showed up. I had to leave for work. When i retuened at 1am i found no one was again at the front desk. On top of that there was 3 other people in the lobby already waiting for the front desk agent one of which claimed he had been waiting 30 minutes. So i gave up and went to bed. I was apparently put in a room next to a stair case and a storage room. All night and early into the morning i kept hearing the doors open and closing very loudly from the stair case and early in the morning someone was just picking up and tossing down items in the storage unit which was directly behind the wall where the bed was. I didnt sleep well and had no way to switch rooms or let anyone on property know my issues until after the fact...

I liked the location, staff and amenities. I didn’t like that the faucet in the bathroom sink and tub were loose and that there were no plugs to support charging your phone or other devices using your cable.

Room and staff - great. Thumbs down to having to bring empty body wash bottle down to front desk to be filled (upon arrival)! Have to bring old linens to front desk in order to get fresh ones. No breakfast.

Liked that the laundry was free, but didnt like that the washers looked as tho they had not been serviced or cleaned in some time. The laundry room had stuff on the floor from 3 days prior, and the washer still had the laundry soap that was spilled on it from days ago. Nobody cared to clean the laundry facility.

There was an enormous pet fee of $75.00 ..unbelivable. The fee at other hotels is $20.00 if i would have known that, i would not have reserved here. And there was no breakfast. Will never stay again!

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a bit more noisy than I expected just due to the traffic as it is bordered by 2 busy roads. Bed was a bit firmer than I cared for.

Weekend stay

Hotel and staff was nice. Room needed a few things such it did not have Shampoo, the tv did not work properly and battery for fire alarm needed to replaced.

One bed had bed bugs or ants. My cousin woke up with huge red pumps on his body. The bed closer to window. We made a complain and were told a Manager would call us as he was not there, have not heard back. Day 3.

Only one person to do chk in with answering phones as well took a while. Room AC did not work and called to tell them the front desk person was going to come look at it after an hour we said never mind we needed to go to sleep. There was a fork in the sink so not cleaned well before us. TV was not watchable. Could not adjust tint color so you could see it.

I didn’t like that my reservation for my room was given away and upon checking into to the hotel. Waited over 30 minutes for a solution at 12 midnight.

Always have good service while staying here. Rooms are very large and supplies are available. Just needs better brand of coffee in room

Very clean rooms no smells or issues. The only thing I didn't like was having to call the front desk to have them call out for me. That won't typically be an issue with everyone having cell phones now days but mine was broken on this trip

Kind of noisy, we had a heard of elephants above us and from time to time the room smelled of fish or maybe mold. It was was cheep so I did not complain.

The front desk staff were very friendly. The room was very spacious and clean. The dishes provided in the kitchenette was very convenient and the full size bath items were a nice touch. The hotel was very quiet and the location was near lots of shopping and restaurants.

Lackluster in Lake Charles

I’m disappointed that I’m disappointed with our room. The floors and surfaces all look like they were last mopped with dirty mop water a few days ago, and everything needs a good vacuum or to be swept. The kitchen cabinets and counters have greasy fingerprints on them. There are dead bugs in our fridge. When we got in late to make out the sleeper sofa for our children to go to bed on, there were no linens in the room for it. We went to the front desk and they said they did not have enough linens or pillows to give us to make it properly. We made do with what they had. The Motel 6 in the attached parking lot had some unfavorable late night traffic and people loitering that made us uneasy. The front desk is at least friendly and the beds are comfortable, but we likely will not return to this property. The quality does not match the price point and there are too many other options in walking distance to choose from.

Disrepair!

The elevator door was having issues trying to decide if it should open or close. The room was somewhat in a state of disrepair. It shares a parking lot with Motel 6 and people were standing around in the lot. I am aware that contract workers had been staying there but the room needs attention.(room 302)

Wonderful and welcoming staff, clean and tidy room and bed. It also has all you need if you prefer to not eat out with a stove top, microwave and a full size fridge/freezer. It also has the utensils and pots and pans you’ll need. I will definitely be staying here every time I visit Lake Charles.

I liked the feeling of being at home away from home. And i could cook if i chose to and didn't have to provide cooking utensils or dishes to serve on. Truly a beautiful experience.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, however they do need some non skid mats in the bathtubs. The property is starting to show some age.
