The hotel was very clean, quiet, and modern. The on-site onsen was very convenient and the staff were very helpful! I’d definitely stay here again.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The location was great, and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay here again!
We’d stay here again.
An attractive facility at a reasonable price. Spectacular skyline views and in-house onsen. Good breakfast buffet and short walk from train station. Great restaurants nearby.
Excellent hotel, conveniently located
Bright, very clean, very contemporary room with provision of excellent amenities - the brand of body wash, shampoo and handwash smelt great and was refreshing! Provided clothes for sauna - wish we had checked it out but we will next time! Breakfast had a spread of local (Japanese) items and some breads. Conveniently located within walking distance of tourist sites, namely the Atomic Bomb Dome, as well as the shopping and eating areas. Would definitely stay here when we visit Hiroshima again!
Close to the main street and lots of options for dining all around. Street cars are close by to get around and its about a 20 min walk to Hiroshima station to and from hotel. Its also close enough to walk to the Peace Memorial walk. 2 things were a bit unsettling. One, the windows had condensation in the morning. The sheer curtains were getting wet clinging to the window and mold was developing on the edge of the curtains. Second, the tub which you shower in isn't flushed against the wall leaving a gap for water to seep down the wall.
very spacious hotel with a great view from the restaurant, spa available and great friendly staff!
Amazing Sky Spa
Location is less than 5 mins walk from Hatchobori station. Front desk is located in 13th flr. They offer express check out where you just drop ur room cards at ground flr before you exit the bldg. Breakfast is mostly Japanese and delicious but very few option for western food. We booked a corner room and were surprised how spacious the bed is. There’s also space for your luggages. Bathroom size is typical Japanese standard. We tried the Sky Spa and we had it all to ourselves. Make sure to go after 9am as most guest are out for their tours. Men and women spa are separate. Their spa is equipped with lockers, sauna and water dispenser. Overall, I would say I will book this hotel again because of the location, Sky Spa and will include breakfast as well.
Bathroom had mildew smell.
This was both the cheapest and nicest place we stay at in Japan.
Hotel had a lovely onsen. Breakfast was good. Room size better than some hotels we’ve stayed at through Japan. Hotel was not as clean as others we’ve stayed at (rug stains in room and halls) Staff was less able to help us figure out transportation than other Japan hotels we stayed at. Overall still good value
Spa and location. Our room smelled of mildew/mould. I didn't like that. Otherwise, the spa, rooms and hotel were perfect.
The Candeo Hiroshima Hatchobori exceeded my expectations. Our hotel room was comfortable and refined. For the price, I was expecting a more modest-sized room with budget decor/amenities; however, I found that our room was well-appointed and nicely designed. Highly recommended!
Despite typhoon rain outside, this wonderful hotel provided some well needed luxury!
Luxury ambience
Clean and large rooms! Great location to shopping, food and sites
The room that we’d booked was tiny: the bed was against a wall with about 30cm space the other side. The “bathroom” was incredibly small. So much so that we had to upgrade to a bigger room at an extorntionate cost. However, on the plus side it’s in a great location and clean.
This hotel is the perfect stay close to everything and very nice and clean. A most stay hotel with very nice staff
Overall feedback on candeo hotel
The location was excellent, room was small , service was good The room layout was a different from the picture i booked. Breakfast was substantial and good spread Staff were polite and helpful
Good location
Good location and the onsen was great. The room was a good size although the bathroom was small
Small but very nice hotel.
Very nice location, clean, comfortable and very friendly and helpful staff.
Very decent hotel within walking distance of Peace Park and other sights. Good breakfast. Only downside is that elevators take a long time to arrive.
It was a nice clean modern hotel; close to the station on a main street, easy to walk around
The property is not well maintained. The public bath and the rooms were not as clean as many of the other Japanese hotel chains in the same category.
Nice spa and facilities
Love this place. Amazing breakfast with lots of vegetarian options. The rooftop spa with hot pools and a sauna is a lovely way to relax at the end of the day.
Amazing breakfast with lots of vegetarian options. The top floor spa, with hot pools and sauna, is wonderful. Such a relaxing and healthy stay in a great location near the Peace Park and main Shinkansen station.
I struggled with the stars on this as some parts were nice and other parts were a little disappointing. The rooms are okay (a little small, glad we only had one small suitcase each), fair warning for tall people though, the showers will not be good for people over 6 foot. The location was great and staff were friendly. The registration/front desk was a little confusing to find at first. And the rooms did get cold once we adjusted temperature (we visited during the summer and it is HOT here). We loved how convenient it was to get around and see the sites. I would stay here again if the price was right.
Rooms were very small and no English television. Should be catering a little for English speakers who come and spend their money providing benefits to the local community.
It was too small for family of 4. Plus bathroom was very very small. I wish I booked a bigger hotel.
Great Hotel to Stay In
Great hotel to stay in. The staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean. The location is convenient and in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. No complaints at all. I highly recommend this hotel.
While I would have preferred a dry sauna, or at least a hotter steam sauna in the women’s sky spa, my second experience at a Candeo Hotels hotel was very pleasant. The entrance to the facility even smells nice!
It was quiet and clean.
Lovely stay. Beautiful, clean rooms. Close to the Peace Memorial Museum and many fine restaurants. Would reccomend
The hot baths are on the rooftop floor which gives a beautiful city view. Bath area and rooms very clean. Hallway to rooms needed a good vacuum but the entry/elevators/checkin/entire experience was top notch. Highly recommend this hotel for rest, relaxation and convenience. Close to everything or at least a short walk to all public’s transportation options
Location
The onsen was a wonderful way to unwind after a long day of walking and having an outdoor pool with a view was perfect. Rooms were very quiet and quite spacious. We enjoyed our stay.
Candeo knows what matters: SkySpa, clean modern rooms, good breakfast. Rare open-air public bath in the middle of the city. Super easy to get to/from the train station and major sights. Fun neighborhood for a night with plenty of food and drink and shopping options.
This is a clean hotel located in close proximity to many things. Do not expect luxury accommodations. I would stay clear of the breakfast buffet style with limited options and none are appetizing. So many other great food options around.
The property was good for our 1-night stay in Hiroshima. The room we got was small but sufficient. The property itself was clean and it had a nice onsen on the top level. The property is within walking distance of key sites in Hiroshima.
Would stay here again!
Central Hiroshima
A mixed experience at this hotel. The room was incredibly small, with barely enough space to open a suitcase (let alone two). And having only two lifts for a building this size led to some long waits. But the rooftop onsen and location in the heart of Hiroshima made up for those disappointments.
Friendly greeting and very comfortable stay. Breakfast was delightful and well rounded. Would recommend and would stay here again.
Very walkable location to popular places like the historical park, castle, and a-bomb dome. Shopping is also nearby and transportation is convenient!
Great hotel with good transport links, although also walkable to main sights. Rooms were spacious for Japanese standards. Service from staff was excellent.
Beautiful stay in Hiroshima
We had a quick one night stay in Hiroshima. We absolutely loved the Candeo hotel. The room was excellent, very clean and had all the amenities necessary. We loved going to the gendered baths/onsen in the evening. Very relaxing. Also, the morning breakfast was delicious and copious. We would come back and recommend this hotel
Bed is hard by American standards. Breakfast line is long. Great location.
Always a great stay at the Candeo Hotel
We love the Candeo Hotels. We actually stayed at another Candeo in Osaka prior to this location and love the convenience and anemeties provided. For myself I love that the Candeo has an ofuro and laundry within the hotel. We happened to book the hotel just due to the location and ended up being impressed more than expected! The staff were very accommodating and efficient in their processes that led to an easy check-in and checked-out. We also had the ability in leaving our luggage after check-out as we explored Hiroshima before our trip back to Tokyo. We fell in love with Candeo and will always stay here when in the area that they have their chain of hotels. We now just have to experience their other locations! We also found out they have rooms with ofuro within them. We are unsure how we can book this suite but will keep trying and see if they are available during our time in the area. Thank you Candeo Hotels!
A modern hotel with spa. Hotel staff happy to help. Good location walkable from train station and to the peace park. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Only issue, we didn't book with breakfast. On asking if breakfast could be added at check-in was told no as hotel full. If you want breakfast, book in advance.
Great location near a popular shopping center with plenty of food
Super hotel, great value for money, excellent spa/onsen. Delicious breakfast. Can’t recommend enough.
Hotel Candeo Hiroshima
I loved staying here. Staff were great. Location was great. Close to everything I wanted to see and lots of shops in restaurants within walking distance. Room was great. Really great experience at this hotel. Will definitely stay here again.
Nice
The friendliest staff we met in our two weeks - big beds, lovely stay
The hotel is in the middle of shopping district. There are a lot of major department stores and covered shopping streets. It is only 4 stops aways (bus or tram) to the north end of the Memorial Park. It is about 20 min on tran or 1000 yen on taxis to the JR stations. The hotel is also very nice and new. The lobby and entrance is on the top floor, only the public bath is above the lobby. Both have a very good view of the city. The rooms are below the lobby floor. The bad: the staff would not let us check in until 3, even if we were there after 1 PM. And keep reminding me that we have to check out at 10 AM. It was not the fact about the check-in and check-out time that bothered me. It was the tone. It was like given a military order and you must obey.
Liked the rooftop onsen
Well worth the money.
It was a wonderful stay. Spa was amazing. Rooms comfortable and breakfast excellent. Convention my located.
Nice hotel
The hot spring on the roof top is amazing. It has sauna so it’s great for big drinkers
Perfect brand
The Candeo hotel has more Japanese characteristics than the typical Western hotels in Japan. The rooms are small, you are expected to remove your shoes, and the hotel features a Japanese-style shared spa, one for each gender.
Lovely place to stay.
Great hotel and especially for the money. In a perfect place to easily walk to everything a tourist would need. The room was a surprisingly large with with an enormous bed. The microwave was very useful when you find yourself with no restaurants due to a public holiday! The spa was a lovely touch and the Onsen was very clean, accessible for a person new to the concept.
It was a very modern hotel. Rooms were small as most are in Japan. However the beds were excellent. Another huge plus there was a live update on the tv of the coin opp washing machines. Very convenient if you need to do laundry on vacation.
Booked for 2 adults and 2 children, room was 2 single beds and a single sofa bed. Not ideal. Otherwise a nice hotel.
One of the best hotel I stayed so far in Japan
One of the best hotel I stayed so far in Japan. The room was exceptional! Spacious, comfortable, well refined. The service was spot on. Every day towels were changed and if requested the room cleaned. A new bottle of water was delivered every day. Spot on. I loved it. The personell is extremely professional as well.
Our room was dirty. The sheets were clean but there were stains on the sofa cushions, the side of the bed, and the carpet; it looked like someone vomited and someone just wiped it but did not cleaned it or sanitized it. There were also dried up crusty stain on the wood portions of the sofa bed, looks like dried syrups of some sort. On the up side, the bath/spa facility was nice.
Good place in Hiroshima to visit main places
It was nice place to go to places we wanted to go. The staff are professional and friendly. We also liked the room. Coin laundry is available. Breakfast was good. We would use this place again.
Excellent spa
Smallest room we had in all of Japan. Good location clean etc.
Hiroshima Downtown
This hotel is very close to the tourist sites in downtown Hiroshima, so that is a plus. Rooms are well appointed and new. Our only complaints were a large water kettle without any setups (tea, coffee) and an air conditioner that would have to be restarted during the night. Otherwise a very nice Japanese style hotel.
I really enjoyed my stay. Nice room. Love the onsen. Great breakfast buffet. Wonderful staff. Superb location.
fantastic, large clean room. amazing breakfast. walkable to peace park, near tram stop which is a direct link to station
Great location
Friendly staff, great location. Good breakfast buffet. On the back side of the block is a fantastic okonomiyaki place. About 15 min walk to Atomic Dome. Very clean and fabulous views.
This is a lovely hotel in the heart of Hiroshima. It’s close to shops and dining options as well as the street cars - which are a great way of exploring the city. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We would definitely recommend!
Modern, clean well located hotel within a 5 minute taxi ride of the main station and an easy walk to main tourist sites. Rooms are a reasonable size for Japan but could offer a more comfortable seating area.
Very friendly reception staffs, very helpful in giving directions and information when needed. Hotel room is very modern, clean and comfortable. Overall, it’s very easy to walk to various tourist destinations.
Very nice hotel. Modern and stylish though the rooms are not huge (like many Japanese hotels). Excellent location: not too far from the train station, Peace Memorial Park and Hiroshima Castle within easy walking distance. Right in the middle of a great shopping district, but our room was quiet nonetheless.
Great stay and just a short walk to the museum and dome.
Very friendly staff and nice rooms. The spa is nice as well and was available at no extra cost.
Difficult to find entrance. 入り口がわかりにくい。 朝食は6:30~でした。
The property has easy access to buses and trams, which makes the entire city accessible. The staff were friendly at check in and checkout as well as in the restaurant. The beds were comfortable and gave us much needed sleep.
Easy access to trams, shoppy an Peace park
Helpful and friendly staff. Great location.
Room was really small and our youngest had to share with mum. Fortunately we are small people. This is a common thing in Japan with small rooms so be careful if you are of a larger build. There is a spa on the top floor which you have to be naked in so we avoided that one. Breakfast at this place was nice for the price.
Centrally located Walking distance to main sights Nice hot springs Good breakfast
Nice hotel and good location. Only didn’t like that there was little space for cosmetics in bathroom. Like most Japan hotels, no closet. The onsen is nice but the water was not very hot. They should have a sign on the exit door on the bottom floor as you have to guess how to exit!
The room was so small for 4 persons. No complimentary coffee and tea. The amenities is not completed. The room is dirty and the slipper is already used. Not recommended
Good location, easy to get to transport. Room was comfortable and clean
It’s always nice to find a hotel that takes such good care of the property and the customers….this hotel excels at it. Lovely pajamas for the entire family in the right sizes…attractive and quiet lobby..excellent location and a stunning view. Comfortable bedding and knock out bath.
Overpriced and extremely overrated
Overpriced and overrated hotel at all levels. I was here years ago and thought it was better than what really is. For this price I would find a better hotel and for less than half the price another one at least as good or even better too. I have been in the country for months and experienced many hotels and this one is not even average in comparison. For one night price I can stay 3 nights in better places. I found many issues but I will mention a few. The bathroom is the smallest I found in Japan so far, with no place for anything, besides, a big part of the mirror is worn down and breaks the spell of luxury that they want to promote and is not real. Hotels.com said I would get a room with bay view, which I had no idea that exists here with two rivers in the area and far from the sea. I didn’t get it and I didn’t care, but no explanation was given to me. In any case my dissatisfaction is not mainly with being a gold member because it counts for nothing, but with the hotel itself. The cool Japanese design that they mention in the publicity is the joke of not being able to find the entrance to the hotel. They enjoy hiding things in this country and this is a good example of it. When I was here before the pandemic I wasted my time around the block looking for the hotel and later for its door. Now they have a small sign that says: entrance. So I am sure I wasn’t the only one with the issue. In any case, I will never come back here again. There are better ways of wasting money.
The spa
Nice hotel in the city center of Hiroshima! Just a minute or two walk away from the Hatchobori Tram Station (six or seven stops to the main station). You can walk to the Peace Park / Museum, the castle, the wonderful Shukkeien Garden, etc. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The room itself was tastefully decorated in a modern style; the bed and large pillows were comfortable. There is a nice onsen / sauna on the top floor (14th floor). Would gladly stay there again!
OMG the view and room perfect and location none better for Hiroshima.
Your body cleaning, conditioner and shampoo are the best I ever had! So natural herbs smell! Can I buy online? Your brush teeth and paste are really good quality! The Lovy view is amazing! Thanks!
Fabulous hotel, great location with delicious food
The whole experience was wonderful! From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out. The service was excellent, the buffet was delicious, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was so convenient too! We will definitely come back to this property!
Lovely stay
We enjoyed our stay overall. The breakfast was a bit disappointing for the price - salad set with powdered liquid scrambled eggs and undercooked croissants.... Bathroom was very clean and room was comfortable. Tattoos are not allowed in public bath, though so did not use it...
Right from the time that I entered the staff was very helpful and friendly. Due to COVID-19, they assisted me in making changes in my schedule. The hotel is ideally located close to street car accessibility and is around 10 minutes from Hiroshima Station. Around a 5 minute walk to the Shopping/Business district with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores around. Within the hotel, one of the best amenities is the spa. They have a sauna and a indoor and outdoor baths to enjoy. An individual room is quite spacious and you are able to walk around it, compared to most single rooms in Japan you just have an aisle strip to walk. Mahalo Candeo Hatchobori for a Great Stay!!!

Very cozy and near everything
