Excellent Service and Location

It was a great experience at this hotel. Location was excellent... near train, buses, shopping. Staff were nice and helpful.

Tidy but not great location, no bar/restaurant

Location was fairly average - not in a particularly safe-feeling part of town - probably a couple blocks away from where I wanted to be and a bit too far to walk from the metro. The bar and restaurant were also closed except for breakfast...only a vending machine available...

Good location.

It was some four or five blocks from Nanjing Rd where shopping is a pleasure. There is a small 7-11 store right next door and opens 24/7. Taxi services was always mnutes away.

This hotel was hard to find. It is also on DIDI but not the current name, the old name. They should try to update their address and make it a point include their address on hotels.com site, and add their hotel name on the DID app so people can find it. The food was good. The park nearby is good for walking but a little crowded . The place was clean. Overall, it was ok.. It was annoying that the refrigerator was not plugged in. I had to pull it out myself and plug it in . They only give one key card, so the room is always hot when you get in.

Clean and quiet

Clean, spacious room. Nice downstairs restaurant area. Breakfast was good but nothing to write home about. Location is central. Metro station is a walk away. Pretty quiet at night, too!

Comfortable hotel

Stay was good, hotel is within walkable distance to a number of tourist attractions and good eating places.

This hotel is excellent value for money. The room was spacious, well equipped and clean, and the breakfast buffet had an impressive variety of Chinese and Western options. The service was friendly and efficient. The only downside was the location, it was a bit of walk to the metro station and there is nothing much to see, do or eat in the immediate neighborhood (perhaps it was quieter than usual due to Chinese New Year)

Very good stay

Very good stay. Location was great and close to public transportation, restaurants, shops, and some sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The hotel felt secure. WiFi was good at times and not as good at other times.

A/C not working. Worst hotel experience

A/C is not working and the room was so hot that i couldn't fall in sleep. I called front desk at 3am and was told we can't adjust each room's temperature individually. I was almost about to cancel my second day stay and was confirmed by the manager that room temperature can not be adjusted. That night i called again and had an engineer come up and check. He then told me how to adjust the temperature. Why can't the first 2 guys tell me what to do? I slept for only about couples of hours the first night.

Staff was polite and helpful. Room is okay . Breakfast has many variety to choose from . Overall stay was pleasant.

Fantastic spot

We loved the location of this hotel as it wasn’t as pricey as being on the Bund but was so close to everything we came to Shanghai to see. The staff was great and the morning breakfast offered is fantastic. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

It was nice but they don't speak English well. It was a problem. But other things were good, clean, kind and friendly.

No air-condition this time a year... my room was like 80 degrees day and night unless i had the window open and it was cold and windy outside Also loud hotel and noisy with the park across the street... Outdated bathroom and falling apart a bit Really bad wifi

Does the job. Better than I would have expected for the price. Not amazing though, but then I was only looking for a place to stay so it was perfectly adequate.

Breakfast is good with a good spread of choices. We especially love the coffee machine. The staff are very friendly as well.

It’s a very small hotel, but it’s very comfortable, clean and practical. It has all essentials. I would definitely come back and recommend my friends to stay there. The staff is super nice. The location is good within 10 minutes walk to everything including train stops.

Great location i.e. close to multiple to metro stations and right next to Nanjing East Road (big shopping strip). Our room was very clean and they changed the towels and sheets every day. The thermostat did not seem to work very well so it was warmer than I'd like at times but that would be my only complaint.

The location is great ! Close to the Bund as well to others turístic atractions. The Staff is very friendly, they try their best to serve the guests better and better even with their broken english ( showing a real effort to comunicate and be helpful) . Its okay for a two nights stay!

The location within walking distance of the Bund and People's Square

just 1 or 2 night is OK... i had standard room but a bit tinny. but location is wonderful any other place compare with how much you pay.

Location - it’s close to YuYuan MRT Station (Line 10) & YuYuan itself and the surrounding shopping bazaar - which is fabulous! Staff - wonderful people ...from the reception to the restaurant to housekeeping. Very accommodating, kind & friendly. I find that true of all the Chinese people I interacted with. Room - clean and pleasant. There is an electric heater which to me was very helpful. Breakfast at RMB68 I guess was reasonable because there is a wide selection of both local and continental food. I only ate the porridge which probably wasn’t my money’s worth because within steps of the hotel were many cheap food places. On my 2nd morning, I went to such a one, had a huge bowl of porridge with a red bean paste bao all for RMB7 (USD1)! I would return again especially if I brought my mom to Shanghai next time, or if I just passed through again, like I did this trip on my way to Singapore. It’s easy also to take the train from that same station all the way to Pudong, only one switch one station away to Line 2 which goes all the way to the airport. Lastly, it’s also within walking distance to the Bund. I find nothing negative about this hotel.

Well kept hotel in terms of cleanliness. Reception staff were very accommodating and patient with us. The Breakfast buffet was fantastic and menu changes every two days. Cheers to Campanile Shanghai Bund Hotel!

I requested ice for my room and the bar staff stated that ?I needed to come get it myself. When .i arrived at the bar they put a couple of blocks of ice in a paper cup and handed it to me. When I asked for an ice bucket they mentioned that they had none to give me. .... so weird!! Room cleaning was very good as well as the amenities on offer. Security guard was most pleasant and professionally friendly much more than the bar staff.

The position of the hotel was excellent. Comfortable rooms. Walking distance to the Bund. Very good breakfast.

Everything was amazing. Pros: +Great room rate +Breakfast was very complete and a great price (around $5 usd per day) Western and Chinese menu. +Very clean, modern feel +Price vs value is extremely convenient. +Room size is ok, is a little bit small but for business travel for 1 was very adecuate. +Staff is great, very kind and will try to help you with every inquiry. Cons: not really anything to stand out because it really is a great hotel, but being extremly critical, I would point these as areas of improvement: -The safebox was not fixed to the wall or furniture, so it can be easily removed from the room. -The TV channels were mostly Chinese TV (34 channels), 1 french, 1 english. -The surrounding area is like an old neighborhood (NOT unsafe) but just feels a bit old. -Metro (subway) might be a bit far for some (500 meters) carrying luggage or heavy bags might feel too long. Taxis wont take you to station (they say its too near) as if they got limited amounts of rides per day (did not understand the refusal from taxis for short distances, not only in that area but all of Shanghai).

Shanghai Campanile Bund Hotel

Hotel was in a convenient location. It was a 15-20 min walk from the Bund, YuYu Garden, and the Shanghai Museum. There was a walking/running track right across the street. One block away was Jinling Rd that had a convenience store and many musical instrument stores, if you are looking for a guitar or piano! The breakfast was really good, with many different types of food and very good coffee. I would definitely stay there again.

Outstanding value for the price paid. Loved the location. It was in decent walking distance to everything I used.

I liked the location. It was near a residential area so we got to see the locals going about their daily activities and it was walking distance to a lot of the city and tourist attractions.

Great breakfast and excellent value. Rooms a bit tight but had everything you need. Bed was hard and they didn't u test and when I asked for a mattress topper so had to make do with an e tea quilt instead. Great location for subway and old town.

Extremely friendly staff, many of whom speak English. The breakfast option was great. The location is great and within walking distance of several landmarks. The actual room is small but clean, it came with great amenities.

Lovely quiet hotel, with everything you need.

Very nice hotel with all the necessities, lovely, clean and spacious without the 'bling' of the large hotels, e.g. no marble or thick luxury carpet, flash lighting etc. Good air conditioning, lovely shower, comfortable bed, plenty of room. Nice and quiet. The restaurant offered basic meals both local food and western including a reasonable selection for breakfast which was perfectly adequate though not a banquet. Friendly helpful staff. Plenty of local places to eat serving local food and some basic western food. 10 mins walk to the Bund. Took a while to find an English speaking channel but eventually found Channel 24.

I expected more from this hotel. The room suffers from shoddy workmanship. This location is okay but I would stay closer to the Bund area next time.

Excellent location and comfortable

This was a really good choice of hotel and I would stay here again. The location was excellent. It is within 15 mins walk of East Nanjing Road metro station and the Bund but is in a quiet residential area. It is also not far from Yuyuan Garden. The staff were helpful and some of them spoke some English There is a small park outside the hotel where it is lovely to go and sit and watch the locals dancing and doing their exercises. There is a vibrant street with plenty of restaurants (many with English menus) about 3 blocks away. I particularly liked the egg pancake stand which I would have for breakfast sitting in the park. I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of my holiday. My room was on the left end of the hotel and there was some road noise from an elevated road. I returned for 5 days at the end of my holiday and was put in a rather compact room again on the left end but when I asked they moved me to the right end which was quieter.

A little bit of French chic in Shanghai

The reception was very efficient and I was checked in to my hotel very quickly. Very happy they spoke English. Condition of the room was good. A/C was better than the 4 star hotel I just transferred from. Bed was super comfy. Room was adequately appointed. The let down for me was the bar/breakfast area and restaurant. The service was slow. I ordered a set lunch meal and in addition I asked for a coke zero. They told me it came with a juice so I asked for apple juice and also my coke. I got the coke but no juice and was still charged for the coke, which was a bit of a rip to me as I didn’t get the juice offered with the meal. In the evening I would stop by for a last drink and they would use coffee glasses off the coffee machine to serve straight whisky in! The first night, the bartender chilled the glass first which was fine. Next night, different bartender and served me a scorching hot glass of whisky! Is it that hard to keep some glasses separate for drinks? Location is good. 10-15 minute walk to the Bund. Checkout was super fast too. Very good front desk team. A+++

Really satisfied, everything was clean, great location and great price.

There is a 24hr convenience store beside the hotel. There are fruits store, restaurant and local delicacies stores within walking distance. The Metroline statiion Yu Garden and Dashijie can easily be reached within 15-20 minutes walking distance. The hotel Manager, Ms Kong and her staff, Mr Billy are very friendly and helpful. Early check-in is available as the room is ready.

Hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the metro line 10. The area seemed a little rundown based on the walking route we took. However, the hotel itself is nice. The room was good, I gave it a '4' just because it wasn't quite as nice as a few other hotels we stayed on this trip. The mattress was hard. We had them reserve a cab for our departure to Pudong airport and the manager made sure the driver knew where we were going. The breakfast was good. Hotel is located in an excellent area to walk to the Bund, People's Square, and restaurant.

Good location, near the bund. Cleaning staff forgot to provide new towels on one of the days. Had issue with the card when accessing the lift on the fourth night.

Overall pleasant stay. Green area close by is rare find. Lots of eateries and easy access to attractions. Hotel is clean and basic. No tissue proves problematic when my kid has nose bleeding and also hairdryer is too weak

The hotel name is Campanille is right next to the busy freeway, room smells and we found a cockroach on the bathroom front desk staff claimed it was because of the weather???

Modern basic hotel in classic neighborhood. Subway 10 mins on foot away. Convenience store conveniently located next door for drinks and snacks. Decent room service menu. Lovely breakfast buffet at decent price (USD 10pp). Little bit confusion about prebookes breakfast at checkout, but that was solved rather quickly.

Very close to the Bund/walking distance. I enjoyed my stay except that its been raining when I visited. But I still had a good time seeing the beautiful skyscrapers of Shanghai! Staff are very friendly although some of them only speak a little bit of English but they're very polite. When I checked out very early morning there is Taxi that is stand by so I didn't have a hard time going to the airport and also staff will ask you're flight details so they can tell the driver where to drop you off.

Room is clean and comfortable. It is close to local eateries and could enjoy my morning run to the Bund. Subway station is within 10min walking distant.

Walkable area with plenty of great eats just two blocks from the entrance. 7-10 minute walk to Line 8 metro station (Dashijie) and a 10-15 minute walk to Line 10 metro station (Yuyuan). Neither of these stations sells the transit pass for tourists, but you can buy single trip tickets at the kiosks in the stations. This hotel has a wonderful breakfast with a few rotating dishes but staples like scrambled eggs, breads, yogurt, fruit juice, and a coffee machine. Lots of local fare as well like steam buns, dumplings, congee, and condiments. The restaurant area is small, so it is best to get to breakfast early. It is served from 6:30am-10am. No crowds before 7am the week I stayed. Staff is very friendly, but English is limited. No matter, just ask for anything (directions, help with your room), and they will work it out. There is no bellman service, so you're left to porter your own things. Not a drawback, just pointing it out. Hotel was very clean in all common areas, hallways, and in my room. Bed was rock hard and not in "firm mattress" way. No top sheet takes some getting used to, but the linens looked and felt clean. A/C is tricky. Could not get mine to blow cool air, but leaving the window open sufficed to keep the room temperature comfortable. Though this could be luck from traveling in March when the temps were in the 40s-60sF. Two free bottles of water per day, use them! If you run out or want something else, there is a tiny convenience store just on the corner next do

One of the best hotels I've stayed in! The staff was very friendly and they made checking in and checking out very easy. As we didn't speak any Chinese, it was very helpful to have a staff that spoke English as they were able to guide us. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and probably my favorite thing about this hotel. Compared to America, I would say the quality of food was 10x better. The morning we left, we weren't able to stay for the breakfast buffet so the hotel staff offered us some yogurt and chocolate croissants to go. If I'm ever in Shanghai again, I will be sure to stay at this hotel.

Good and comfortable hotel. Reasonable walking distance from Metro (6 minutes) and The Bund (15 minutes). Staff not over confident with their English. Breakfast is fine, nothing special, but adequate. Slightly lacking in facilities and TV channels not in English didn't bother me. I would stay again as it is clean, reasonably priced and value for money as a 3 star hotel.

Not too good area but close to travel atractions

Staying in a French hotel in the middle of Shanghai was a real treat. Excellent croissants and coffee etc for breakfast!
