Nice and quiet lovely staff
Nice place with big parking
New style Campanile, lovely hotel except for one major flaw. The air conditioning does not actually blow cold air. It just functions as a fan blowing ambient temperature air. It is useless and for such a lovely clean and really excellent renovation. This flaw of a non functioning air conditioning ruined the experience for me. If you are from Northern Europe or anywhere else where sleeping is only possible at cooler temperatures then there is just no point staying in this hotel as you will not be able to sleep at nearly 30 degrees room temperature during summer. I really am amazed because everything else about the hotel is just perfect, it’s unbelievable how much nicer the new style campaniles are compared to the renovated ones from 10 years ago or the original ones before that. Right now it’s like a four start hotel and this is why it so completely disappointing that the air conditioning does not work and only acts as a fan.
Lovely staff. Basic but had all the facilities we required for an overnight stay.
Great stopover.
Lovely new hotel with good facilities.
Property is two-storey block of rooms with passageways passing in front of each room. Wind-down blind to the front provides good privacy and light blocking. Small airport located next door which is noisy during daylight hours. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant provides a good menu and the food is excellent. Location for onward travelling via autoroutes is excellent. Overall a good location for overnight stay.
Easy to find, convenient when travelling, good food, breakfast excellent. Good value all round.
clean, efficient, modern
Séjour formidable
Nous avons été accueilli par une équipe formidable, tant pour la remise ces clés, le restaurant et le petit déjeuner. Ils ont accepté se sécher nos vêtements mouillés par un orage. Super
Always a good a friendly service, it’s always a pleasure to stay there.
Cet hôtel était bien placé pour continuer notre voyage. Mais il mériterait un peu de rénovation. Le choix au restaurant n’était pas très appétissant.
lots of pros as above cons horrid little pillows half normal size very soft 🙁 not to our preference.
Great stopover for the return journey to England - Nice clean rooms - Hotel Restaurant good and friendly staff
Ideal for our one night stop.
We had just a one night stopover here and it was ideal. Check in was nice and easy. In a motel style where you dont have corridors proved to be very quiet. Room was very clean and tidy. Didnt get chance to use the restaurant so cant comment on that.
Stop over in Chartres
Hotel and reception all OK, But bathroom although clean did have a tired look to tiling in shower. Good for overnight stop while travelling.
Really suitable for our needs and able to have our dogs with us
A welcome stop on our journey
Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Some of the room fixtures weren’t working and the extra bed for the child was uncomfortable, but good value overall and would recommend
Out of town stopover
The hotel is in a business park out of town. There is a bus stop nearby and it is easy and cheap to catch the bus into central Chartres. Odyssee water park is close. Rooms are in an older building but are clean and air-conditioned. Reception and restaurant in a new building and immaculate. We arrived on 14th July, which is a bank holiday. The young staff on duty were very welcoming and efficient. Buffet dinner was available for 2 hours and was very good value for money. Breakfast also good.
Ideal for a one night stop whilst travelling through.
A
I accidentally booked this instead of the cathedral campanile so was disappointed that it was not close to downtown. It was very hot with no real way to cool down inside except opening the window. The staff located extra pillows for us which was nice. Then I found we had only hand towels in the bath which actively repelled water. Overall would likely not choose to stay in this chain again.
Nop property
Worst hotel that I have ever stayed.
We booked this hotel based on 8.0 rating but I would rate it before Motel 6 in US. The hotel is advertised as non smoking but our room smelt like cigarettes. The biggest inconvenience is that they don't have blinds and anyone passing can see what is happening inside the room, there was a semi-transparent cloth for privacy. This hotel is a no no for a family. Is you can't speak French don't even book it even if it's the cheapest hotel. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this hotel like a plague.
Clean comfortable but rooms open directly outside
Very friendly, helpful staff, who provided an electric heater when the heating system in our room was struggling in the very cold weather (January). Very clean bedroom and ensuite. Comfortable bed and nice hot shower. Good Covid restriction arrangements. A lot of thought had been put into how evening meals and breakfast could be provided. We were offered a tray to take back to our room. We had the choice of 3 main courses and chose a very tasty, nice and hot, pasta carbonara with salad served on a china plate, with proper cutlery, a glass of wine and dessert. The only disadvantage of this hotel is that reception is in a separate building from all the rooms which are in a 2 storey, concrete block with external staircase and all the bedroom doors and windows open directly onto the outside ie. no inside corridors. I felt uneasy that there was nothing to stop anyone from wandering into the car park, approach the bedroom block without reception being aware, try the doors and look directly into the rooms from outside unless you completely wind down the window shutters.
The hotel room was a typical Campanile, always good and always reliable. The downside was the breakfast, a payable option which is really not worth the extra.
Extremely helpful member of staff when our euro tunnel train was delayed by 3.5 hours thank you joel for providing a meal and drinks for us at 11 o/c at night
Excellent experience all round.
Handy for a stopover before driving to Calais. This was during lockdown so not many hotels are open.
Very friendly welcome . Easy check in with extremely helpful staff. Room facilities excellent including a kettle, tea & coffee very welcome. The very large double bed was supremely comfortable. Good location & we will definitely stay here again.
OK for an overnight stop
Hotel was good but in a dismal industrial estate with very little of interest within walking distance. Hotels.com Didn't tell us the restaurant was closed for refurbishment when we booked.
Well placed for a stopover and easy to find. Food selection above average cor Campanile chain. Several specials on the hot plate.
Great place to stay
Great stay as we had a car. Room was excellent apart from a fridge which would have been really helpful for cold water etc. Near to a supermarket too. Room was modern, comfortable and we'll thought out.
Overnight stay
Good location quiet of main road and has a nice bar and restaurant .
Campanile chartres
It was on the outskirts of the city and handy to get to from the autoroute as we were travelling on to Caen for the ferry. The staff were great and it had a tasty buffet selection.
Nice setting with garden. Shower wasn't great as it had to be hand held. The overhead one didn't work.
Good to have refreshments in the room which not common in low cost hotels. Also finding somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening is not easy in France so its good that theres amrestaurant on site. However, the food was very mediocre and not worth the 20 euros for two courses as "hot buffet" was luke warm and steak practically inedible!
Great overnight stop
Campànile hotels are great for an overnight or a couple of nights stay. Food is very acceptable and great if you're travelling on a Sunday when most restaurants are closed in the evening. Also they are one of the few chains that provide tea and coffee in your room.
one of the best
Excellent condition and comfort of the recently renovated room. Food quality and range and ease of access very good. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting or passing through Chartres
Good overnight stop over.
Easy to find. Nice meal ,friendly staff. Liked tea & coffee in room.
En-route stopover
Check in was quick and easy as we had pre-paid but we had to go back and ask for the WiFi details as these were not automatically given. The room was basic with only one chair despite being a double room but the bed was very comfortable and, with the shutters fully down, we soon fell asleep. A traveller encampment opposite the hotel didn't cause any problems but was not esthetically pleasing. Our biggest moan was that the shower didn't function properly and the bottom of the shower curtain looked more than a little grubby.
Decent overnight stay
This hotel was exactly what you would expect from a budget overnight stay and would of scored higher if not for a few issues that were disappointing. Positives. The staff were very friendly and attentertive, the food in the restaurant was decent and reasonable price and the room was ok. However negatives . Our shower did not work properly. If you looked closely in the corners and difficult too reach places it was actually a bit grubby in the room. The beds as a twin room were quite narrow. But my biggest dissapointmet was the ants it was quite busy in the room with ants.when I mentioned too the reception staff in the morning the lady said " yes we do have a problem with them at the moment" I kinda wish I had been told that before I went too bed or been provided with some form of and powder or something. However despite this I will use camponel again and probably this hotel in fact. It's a budget decent overnight stop that gives you a good rest breaking up a long trip.
Friendly and welcoming
A friendly welcome and good service for our stay. Good menu and enjoyable dinner in the restaurant. Set in a quiet area although just off a main road.
Always a pleasure to stay at a Campanilehotel, very welcoming and with two dogs, a greyhound and golden retriever, it’s very handy being on the ground floor with access straight out side from your room.
Basic but ticks the boxes
Basic but practical. Fine for a no thrills stop over. The restaurant was surprisingly good.
Excellent
The best economy motel group in France breakfast a little expensive
Useful stop off between S of France and Channel Tunnel. Campanilles provide a Known and acceptable level of service.
Wonderful
Great will stay again
Good stay.
This is one of the better Camponiles, everything worked well except we couldn't get the overhead shower to come on.Good comfortable rooms.
An overnight stop at Campanile, Chartres.
The receptionist was polite and very helpful. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant, the staff were pleasant and the food was good.
Not up to usual standards
Hotel situated in the normal place for a Campanile - too far from the town to walk but we expected that. Only failing was the evening meal - having stayed in Bordeaux (at a Campanile) the night before we were very disappointed with the quality of the evening meal. Salads were not too fresh and the hot buffet was, for me, inedible.
Stopover hotel.
Basic hotel, with small rooms and not much in the way of facilities. However, the room was a reasonable price and so is probably fair considering the cost.
One night dtop
Just a stopover on way south. Excellent
The best of my many overnight stops near Chartres
This hotel was a surprise! I often do an overnight stop on the way from the South of France to the UK so I have tried many hotels. This was the best so far for room space, bed comfort, room facilities, restaurant food, staff attitude and cleanliness. When I arrived, having successfully changed my room from a twin to a double by email, I was offered the choice of a ground floor or first floor room. This is important if you are alone and have luggage as there is no lift. The rooms are motel style, which I like,, but I did not want to carry cases up stairs. The reception staff were charming and spoke good English. The room was a good size, with a kettle and tea/coffee/milk, which is unusual in a French hotel. The bed was 5' wide and comfortable. After unpacking, I discovered that the toilet did not flush, and also had a spider web-like crack in the bowl. Room 15! I could have asked to be moved, but might have been offered a first floor room, so decided to wait until check-out. I ate in the restaurant, and it was very good. One of the charming receptionist/waiters explained the buffet to me, which was based on apples, as there was an apple festival on locally. I had chicken in an apple and mushroom cream sauce and it was delicious. There were three other hot choices plus a la carte. Buffet desserts were also very good with plenty of choice. Breakfast was the usual French offering., and as always is expensive for what it is. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Probably the best Campanile Hotel we have used, and we tend to use this chain all across France.
Friendly stay in good location
Easy to find, helpful staff, very good food and good value
Weary traveller's haven
Truely helpful staff, gave us the information we asked for very quickly. Restaurant was well run and gave a insight into the food of the region. An ideal stop to break up a long journey through France.
Shame there is no CCTV
Our stay was very disappointing. Our van was broken into and all of the vans that night were broken into. The hotel has no cctv and their only comment to everyone was call the police, they will take pictures for you. No help at all. Will not stay there again as it is not safe
OVERNIGHT STAY
WE STAYED FOR ONE NIGHT TRAVELLING BACK TO THE UK FROM SPAIN. HOTEL IS COMFORTABLE, THE FOOD IS GOOD AND IT WAS QUIET WHICH IS WHAT YOU NEED TO GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP. THE ONLY GRIPE WAS THAT THE RAIN SHOWER DID NOT WORK BUT THE HAND HELD WAS VERY GOOD. IT NEEDED A LITTLE ATTENTION AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE SHOWER TRAY AS IT WAS UNSIGHTLY. OVERALL IT WAS GOOD.
Stopover in Chartres
We were stopping overnight on a drive into France and Chartres is about half way from the ferry as well as being well worth a visit in itself.
Ideal for one. Igbo stopover
It was nice, at a budget hotel, to be welcomed by a very pleasant "real" person instead of an automated system. We were checked in to a basic but clean, modern room. A real bathroom (not a plastic cubicle in the corner of the room) with good towels, shower gel and soap provided. A kettle and selection of coffee and tea were a surprise in a French motel. The evening meal in the pleasant restaurant was good value and freshly cooked. The breakfast was extremely good value. All in all, having tried some of the other cheap chains for our overnight stopovers on the long journey south this was the best we have tried.
A quiet place for a one-night stay. Welcoming staff. Enjoyed buffet entree and dessert at dinner (less choice for main course)
Convenient stopover for journey
Easy to find, could definitely be. better signage to car park in the dark as we had to hunt round for the entrance. Very warm welcome. Food very good . Staff excellent. Room clean and comfortable, a little cramped but we had asked for ground floor and family room so they had to tweet the facilities. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
passing through on our way to Holland
we had chosen Chartres because we had not yet seen the famous cathedral. So we visited the cathedral and went back to the hotel for dinner and sleep.
Great
Very comfortable peaceful stay will stay there again
One night on our way south
Very nice stay albeit overnight on our way south. The room was clean gave us a good nights sleep and a very good evening meal. I would definitely go again.
A pleasant hotel, ideal for visiting Chartres
We stayed overnight en route from Northern France to SW France. We wanted to look around Chartres and the Campanile was a good choice of hotel. Situated on the eastern side of Chartres, it was in a quiet location, but only 10 minutes drive to the Cathedral. The room was well equipped and clean and we had a very peaceful nights sleep. We didn't use ther restaurant, but did buy a beer from the bar. I'd stay here again
Comfortable and good quality at affordable price
After a long drive it was nice to settle into a clean and comfortable hotel. The evening meal was very good value buffet with lots of choices. Staff very attentive. Comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities Eco systems. Would thoroughly recommend for stopover for those driving from the Dordogne, Mid Pyrenees to tunnel or ferry.
Very good
Very clean would recommend. Used as an overnight stopover but found the staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable room and bed. The restaurant was good - nothing more, nothing less.
A night in Chartres
Our stay was fine other than the check-in process. There was no record of our booking through Hotels.com. We had a booking reference but no hard copy due to having booked the previous day on my laptop, with no printer available. 20 minutes later, after having used my laptop and showed the e-mail confirmation we were checked-in. Had we not been able to this we would have been charged another 15 euros for arriving without a booking. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food and service were excellent.
A really comfortable stay
Although the hotels appearance did not match the online photo, we were surprised at the space and room facilities, the staff were very pleasant and helpful.it
Fabulous hotel at very reasonable price.
This was a very good find in every respect. The room was comfortable, quiet, air-conned and very clean. The car parking was safe and free. The best part of the hotel though was the food. The dinner was very reasonably priced but superb, we have not eaten that well in a very long time in a restaurant. It was hard to believe that we were in a travel hotel and not a first class restaurant charging silly prices. The breakfast was incredible as well as the dinner. Plenty of choice, really well cooked and well presented. The staff were so helpful, very polite and couldn't do enough to make our stay as good as it could be. Worth going back to stay there just for the food.
Handy location to stay on driving holiday.
Overnight stay only - easy to drive into Chartres to see sights.
Clean, comfortable hotel
This hotel is not really walking distance to anything but if you have a car then it is a nice, clean place to stay with friendly staff.
Good value motel
Ground floor room with basic facilities. No curtains and it took us a while to work out that there was an electrically operated external shutter for privacy. Excellent evening meal & breakfast buffet. A good & economic place for an overnight stop when travelling south
Near highway and not far from city centre/cathedra
Decent room (outside door but no traffic noise). Had rollaway bed under main bed so when pulled out, did not have any room to walk around but not a big deal for one night. Restaurant was pretty good.
Typical Campanile, absolutely fine
Hotel rooms quiet and generous size. Hotel a little difficult to find
Great place for an overnight stay
The hotel is clean and comfortable, modern decor, simple clean rooms, good shower and a very comfy bed, very convenient for town center 10 mins away and convenient links for the motorway. i highly recommend this as a stop of point.
Convenient location 5 mins from the centre
The rooms are very clean nice size bathroom with good shower and bath very comfy bed great location 5 mins from town which is fantastic. Good breakfast. Stopping here on the way back.
good overnight stop
Ideal for overnight stop and evening meal first class
Convenient stop off over night.
Clean, tidy modern room recently updated by look of it.
Clean and comfortable
Arrived later than planned to be greeted by friendly helpful staff and a restaurant that went out of its way to provide all of the group with adequate food before a comfortable nights sleep.
Poor Location
Long way from the centre of Chartres. The female receptionist on our arrival was not very helpful or friendly and the evening meal was not very good, certainly very poor value for money. But Nicholas who was on duty next morning could not have been better, he was extremely helpful. Overall would not stay there again
good choice
Easy to find sat/ nav. straight there = good staff - good restaurant - Chartres is a excellent destination and we must return soon
Decent stopover
Exactly what it is designed to do, gives you a clean room for the night
Great stopover
Got a good deal - paid the same price as the budget chains for a superior room with quiet aircon. Breakfast was superb - no need to eat for thye rest of the day
Comfortable and friendly
We found this Campanile very convenient on our way to the channel tunnel. It had been recently decorated, the room was comfortable, and the staff very friendly and helpful. As with all Campaniles we have experienced parking was free and plentiful. The centre of Chartres was a short drive away.
Island of calm
Really clean, cool, sharp and comfortable room. Recently decorated, spacious, large en-suite with de-misting mirror and quiet location overlooking the local aerodrome. Short drive to city center, helpful reception and simple check-in. Good value and high standard.
Great location & value for money!
Easy to find, great access from major routes. Comfortable, clean and quiet, plus free WIFI. Only negative was lack of information regarding early checkout - no key drop-in box and Reception not open by 6:30am when we left, which is surprising for this type of hotel, i.e. close to airport and used frequently by travellers en-route.
Not the best value for money.
Average hotel. Good location in a very nice town. Room clean and comfortable. Wifi poor. Kept disconnecting. Not the best looking hotel. Overpriced (We paid 76 euro)
Lovely Campanile and good restaurant
Comfortable, clean, value for money and good restaurant. Would stay there again.
Noisy hotel.
Booked this hotel as they offered rooms with 3 beds (our grandson was with us.) received a friendly welcome & was told spare bed was under the double bed. Yes it was there but with sheets on it that didn't look as if they had been changed from the previous user & also felt damp, & a musty smelling blanket. It was also too short as my grandsons feet hung over the end. Room wasn't really big enough for 3 beds as we struggled to move around. Pillows were very hard but double mattress quite comfy. Tv was good, flat screen fitted to the wall. We thought dinner & breakfast expensive for the choice & quality that was offered. Starter buffet & desert buffet very disappointing aswell as choice at breakfast. Sleep was difficult as apart from having people coming & going all through the night, pipes from either the plumbing or air conditioning were banging on & off for hours. Did complain to staff when checking out to no avail. We have stayed at the Kyriad previously in Chartres & found it a much better hotel. Give this one a miss.
Better than other Campaniles
We had great problems finding the hotel - the map in the book was useless as we were coming from a different direction and even the satnav couldn't find it! However we were pleasantly surprised as we got a free drink of kir and the room was good. Other Campaniles' food has been really ropey but this one was really good - especially the sweet buffet and the breakfast. The hotel was full but there was no noise as most others we suspected were on an overnight stay as well. We had no problem with tables either for dinner or breakfast. Altogether good.
Convenient location
Room and hotel were comfortable. Meal and breakfast were enjoyable.

Brief but excellent stop. Recommend
A lift would have been good but the Receptionist said next time we book request ground floor. Also we can reserve a room with a walk in shower. The Receptionist was very helpful and spoke good english Lovely restaurant but we arrived too late to eat.
