No room no electric

Not front beach, old building needs upgrades. Did not honor my 2 cabanas reservation, just gave me one room had to share room w our friends.

There's a club right next to it, so be ready not to sleep much. Our room door wouldn't stay shut without locking it and the fans in the lobby didn't work. The front desk receptionist, Claudette was very, very nice and helpful! If it wasn't for the club noise, the location is great.

Place was very nice and clean. Staff service was excellent. Beach is right across and have a lounge area to hang out Unfortunately is in a location that is very loud until the wee hours of the night

Las cabañas están bien ubicadas, fácil acceso a la playa, restaurantes, bares y relativamente cerca a la plaza principal. La habitación es espaciosa y sencilla, la cama cómoda. Nos hubiese gustado q tuviera un refrigerator o nevera pequeña. El bar enseguida colocaba su música a muy alto volumen hasta dos y tres de la mañana lo cual fue algo incómodo. A ratos no había agua (creo q es un problema general de la isla). La atención de Ana, en la recepción fue buena al igual q la limpieza de la habitación por Israel. Las playas de Holbox son encantadoras y los atardeceres espectaculares. Como fuimos en Febrero no tuvimos la oportunidad de ver el tiburón ballena ni los flamingos rosados. En general la isla está muy cambiada. Nosotros fuimos en el 2014. Ahora hay sobrepoblaciom de taxis y turistas. Personalmente creemos q la isla no tiene la infraestructura suficiente para la demanda q hay en estos momentos. Nos comentaban los locales que eventualmente las playas se van a privatizar, no que sus muy lamentable. Igual recomendamos que la conozcan, la visiten. Tiene restaurantes y bares muy buenos con comida variada ☺️

This place is not good, their advertising is misleading, is not beachfront, the beach is across the street, the room that we had is old, super old, electrical wires are hanging on the wall, mold in tje bathroom and room, bugs, bed is super hard, the ac barely works and the ceiling fan doesn’t work at all, not worth the money, I would not recommend this place at all, the only good thing is the staff is nice and do what they can to help.

Check-in not ready when we arrived at time was the first of a stayed with very noisy moments along all day and night, very bad attitude of service from lady at reception, low quality of furniture and bath sink broke without cold water. They use a “beachfront” word in advertising in a tricky way so be careful.

It was the most horrible hotel I ever had. Ugly, dirty, uncomfortable, totally rocked down. We spent as less as possible time in the hotel, during all days we enjoyed the wonderful beach but in the nights we had to deal with this bad place. Outside the hotel was loud music during all the night until the early morning, The walls and windows did not hold back that noise. Hard to fall into sleep if you feel like in the middle of a dance club. Never ever again I would join this hotel. The price was definitely not worth it. It’s a shame that this hotel is listed in expedía.

Overall we enjoyed and spent a good time with family About the hotel Pros: wonderful location right in front of the beach! Cons: fans were dirty, sink drip, tv doesn't really work About the Island: Pros: nice plate to visit, wonderful beaches and white sand Cons: the food in the restaurants is too expensive and low quality and doesn't taste really good for the price, sadly there was a lot of seaweed and I didn't see any authority or hotel owners cleaning it, I requested to the Hotel's staff to clear a path so we can walk to the sea

The staff were very friendly and helpful in anyway they could. It is a great location as you are between the town proper and the beach strip. This place needs a facelift and to open their bar and restaurant back up.

I did not like that the pictures they have on the web are not even close of what the place looks like.

The location was great. The hotel was not good and I was anxious to leave. There were no amenities-coffee or coffee pots, safe, limited beach chairs and most were broken, one bath towel per person no hand towels. Our room was supposed to be ocean view with a hide a bed but the view was of the garbage next door and there was no hide a bed and wires hanging out of the walls.

The only thing to like about this property was the beachfront beds. Location next to the most noisy club beach-bar was exhausting. Music sops around 2:30 AM. Mattresses of the beds were awful, and the staff, like other people here warned me for already, does not care about the guests. TV did not work, toilet malfunctioned (but fixed) and the place is literally falling apart. They don't know how to run a hotel properly and choose to ignore the guests, at best.

The staff is super nice. The room and the hotel was lovely.

A really lovely, friendly hard-working family and their staff made this an enjoyable stay. As noted by other reviewers, the disadvantage to this hotel is its proximity to a beach bar that doesn't get going until after midnight. The music is mostly house so the beat makes it hard to sleep through, accompanied by a very loud generator. Holbox hotels, however, are quite expensive so this is a deal if you have really good earplugs. While there are no frills, the bed was comfortable with good quality cotton sheets and cushy towels, soap and body wash. They provide beach towels and 25 peso beers and 50 peso cocktails make it the cheapest spot to hang out on the beach. Sheets and towels are changed daily along with room service.

Beautiful island but disappointed hotel

The island and beaches are great but unfortunately the hotel personal were not there when needed. Also pretty noisy bar club at night where party and loud music goes up to 3am

VERY loud music at about 1am. Ran out of sun beds quickly. However, a good price to be in the beach. Was ok for a night, wouldn't make it my only place to stay in Holbox. There is nicer accommodation but at a cost. Room was facing the sea but not very private as by reception. Bed was very hard. Good shower, room fine.

Beautiful beach. Prime location. Rooms are less than average. Neighboring bar blast music from 10p until 2am making it difficult to sleep every night.

Feels like more of a hostel than a hotel.

Staff was helpful, room was clean, right on the beach. CM offers camping and shared cooking, washing and dinning areas which makes it feel like a hostel. The only reason we would not return is there is a "beach club" next door which blares Latin house music till 2 A.M.

Very expensive for what it is

This is NOT a boutique hotel as advertised. It looks closer to a hostel, and the price is to high for what it is. Arranging transport from Cancun airport was an absolute nightmare with them. Oh, and my room was supposed to have a "garden view" which is actually a green fake rug with two pots. Not even funny. I don't recommend this place.

Great Location, friendly service.

The Casa Maya is perfectly located right on the beach and is within a few blocks of the town square with many incredible food options. It is also right next to what's probably THE best beach bars on Holbox. Very convenient for people like me, who like to get late night drinks. On the other hand this could be a problem for some guests - as the bar plays loud music until extremely late, on weekends until 4am or longer. Our room (the only one with a king size bed) is especially close to that bar, so the noise could be less of a problem in other rooms. The hotel is more like a series of converted beach huts on a very nice large compound with a great old-school vibe. The whole thing has very much of an attractive budget feel without a hint of luxury. The room we had was right next to the reception/bar, so there wasn't a lot of privacy and you are awoken early by music and people checking in or out. It's a great big room, bathroom and shower are extremely basic and the water temperature is almost impossible to control. Definitely needs some work... There was daily and very detailed room service. We had an excellent stay at the Casa Maya. But in retrospect the place seems a bit expensive, the other hotels nearby had a much more premium and luxurious feel and build quality. Bottom line: I would recommend the Casa maya if you are looking for the most economic place on the beach and in town - and if you are ok with some trade offs in quality and don't mind loud music.

Casa Maya Holbox - Stay Away!!!!!!!!

We wanted to get a quiet getaway for X-mas and hear the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Instead, for more than US$160 / night we were awake until 3am every night from the loud party music outside next door, shower drips, no coffee / tea maker, no hair dryer, no real beach towels, no safe to lock valuables. MUCH better places to stay for this money on the island.

Las instalaciones en general muy deterioradas, nada que ver a lo que muestran en la pagina, lo peor de todo no dormimos ya que desde las 8 pm y hasta las 5am el antro o bar que esta enseguida con la musica a todo volumen. Tengan mucho cuidado con las atenciones que te ofrecen en el bar barba Rosa ya que cuando llegas te preguntan solamente si estás hospedado puesto que ya te incluye el desayuno continental te llevas la gran sorpresa que te estan cobrando el desayuno continental de la carta, lo que se hace una falta de respeto. En general esta equis el lugar NO vuelvo, la atencion de los chicos de recepcion excelente trato Osvaldo y Julio

Hola muy mal , el coral está al lado de una discoteque , que abre a las 8:00 pm y cierra a la 5:00 pm , es el after party de holbox. Cabalas muy viejas , sin mantenimiento . No hay toallas suficientes para la playa. No es cierto que están frente al mar , hay que cruzar un club de playa Para llegar al Mar y si lo usas hay que consumir , para que té buen trato . Mi estandía fue de tres noches.tres noches que no dormí. Muy caro , para las carencias y antigüedad del hotel . Quedo a sus órdenes +523331960125

Buen lugar para hospedarse, esta muy cerca de la playa y aentre 10 y 15 min caminando del muelle donde te deja el Ferry.

Me gustó lo rústico del lugar, lo cuidado quelo tienen y su ubicación. El punto malo es el ruido en la noche pues está cerca de bares de playa.

el establecimiento esta muy decente con acceso al beach club. el hecho de que este enfrente de la playa le da un plus muy bueno.. esta limpio. personal agradable. lo unico que no me gusto. fue una coordinacion mala con "la agencia/persona" que administra el hotel y expedia. cuando llegue a hacer check in no estaba mi reservacion en el sistema y yo la habia pagado 6 meses antes. la persona de reservacion me dijo que ese no era el hotel correcto que habia otro con el nombre parecido y tuve que gastar tiempo y dinero en otros taxis para buscar el otro hotel que ni existia. regrese a este mismo hotel y la persona de recepcion hizo un par de llamadas y lograron contactarse con expedia y expedia les dijo que esa era mi reservacion. pero perdi dinero y alrededor de 4 horas y mi check in fue muy tarde y cansado.

Hotel accesible

El hotel es muy sencillo. Cuenta con lo básico. Los climas funcionales al 100%. La habitación estaba limpia. Se acabó el agua pero lo solucionaron enseguida. Todo en bien. Solo se me hizo un poco caro para lo que es el hotel. Pero en general todo muy bien.

Le club de plage et la position au cœur du centre ville sont des plus. Par contre, la plage privée est petite, pas assez de transats pour les clients et le prix des chambres assez élevés pour l'état général. A ce prix, il est possible de trouver mieux. Bon service.

Espantoso. Las instalaciones deplorables, escaso o nulo mantenimiento. El la publicación se ve una fotografía de una albarca, que no tienen, eso, es publicidad engañosa. El servicio, atentos y accesibles. La limpieza y desinfección de las habitaciones, muy cuestionable, dos veces la mucama la realizó sin cubrebocas, en ningún momento atestigue que dejaban 3 días entre huéspedes, así como se hiban las volvían a ocupar.

Buena ubicación cerca de la playa, no me gusto que a las 10 de la noche nadie se quedaba en la recepción y estaba muy oscuro.

Un buen hotel donde se puede descansar, con una ubicación frente al mar y maravillosos paisajes. Recomendaria sólo un poco más de mantenimiento.

Hola en general la estancia fue regular, lo mejor es que esta en la playa muy cerca del mar, lo demás no esta acorde al precio que se pago

Magnifica la atención del personal, mejorar el mantenimiento de las instalaciones.

La ubicación está perfecta, justo frente al mar, cerca del centro, camastros para relajarse y olvidar todo, la cama matrimonial está bien, pero somos grandes y no cambiamos bien, aun así la estancia fue increíble 100% recomendado.

No me pareció que todos los días por la noche quitaban el agua de la habitación y la habilitaban hasta las 8 de la mañana. Un día hasta las 8:45 ya que no había personal en el hotel para que activaran el agua. Esto si es molesto ya que el sanitario permanece mucho tiempo sucio con malos olores.

La ubicación y atención del personal muy buena, pero las camas y almohadas muy malas, el aire acondicionado no funcionaba bien. Las fotos que aparecen en la reservación no corresponden a la habitación.

Frente a la playa muy lindo todo, una experiencia para realizar.

La ubicación está muy bien, ya que es de los pocos que están en el centro y sobre la playa, pero el hotel es muy rústico y parece verse algo viejo, para pasar bien la noche no hay problema, es limpio, con buen espacio.

Hotel cerca de playa sin ninguna expectativa de más comodidad, cumple con lo más básico, dormir y bañarse, pero le faltan muchas cosas en buen plan, atención, limpieza, y comodidad

precio muy elevado para lo que se ofrece. una lástima porque la localización es excelente pero lo tienen muy abandonado.

Enkelt men väldigt prisvärt hotell! Läget är perfekt vid stranden och nära torget. Lite lyhört om en är känslig för det. Wi-fi funkar endast i receptionen.

Descuidado y ruidoso

El hotel está muy descuidado. El destino es de descanso y es ilógico que atrás haya un antro donde hay música toda la noche y no permite a los huéspedes descansar. Las camas solo tienen una sola sabana, y en la noche si llega a bajar la temperatura no hay con que taparse.
