Convenient option for 1 night stay
Pros: - Newly furnished building in great location - just steps away from the arc that leads into the circular streets. - No breakfast option, but they offer 15% discount at the restaurant downstairs which did great breakfasts - Building locked at night, access with key only - 10 euro parking/night at lot 5 min walk away Cons: - We stayed in the attic level rooms, so space was quite small and cramped both in the bedroom and the washroom. Barely had enough room to have our luggage open and walk around it. Would probably recommend booking rooms on the lower floors if you plan to stay multiple nights.
Location is great. Staff is super friendly and like the technology to open up doors. Park is just around the corner so nothing too bad
Location is superb but a double edge sword. There is no air conditioning so leaving the windows open is the only way to get proper air, we heard tourists having a sing sound until 4am. No onsite parking and very difficult to find this should be underscored at time of making reservation.
ESTA BIEN UBICADO, LA HABITACION ES MUY PEQUEÑA Y LE FALTA MANTENIMIENTO. ES MUY CARO PARA LO QUE ES, NO TIENE ESTACIONAMIENTO. Y EL ESTACIONAMIENTO CERCANO CUESTA 40 EUROS EL DIA. NO TIENE LUGAR PARA GUARDAR EL EQUIPAJE COMO SE OFRECE, SE DEBE DEJAR EN EL CORREDOR DEL HOTEL SIN NINGUNA SEGURIDAD. ES MUY COMPLICADO LLEGAR EN AUTO.
Perfect for an overnight stay
Perfect for a quick overnight. Rooms are small but clean and quiet. Air conditioning was great! The restaurant next door gives a 15% discount and the food was great.
Can’t beat this location for all things Pula! The only complaint I would have is that the staff are not available very late or early in case something is needed. But I wonder if this is also bc there is no true need for it given that the city is so safe. My checkout was smooth though. I left my key on the desk and no further communication was needed.
Great location
Hotel is in a great location for access to most areas of Pula. The room is basic but bright, clean and tidy and serves its purpose, I liked the fact it was electronic access so no carrying cards or keys around. A massive mention the staff who work on the front desk. They went above and beyond to help us when we needed assistance. Top Tip - Don’t use the taxi from the airport as they will charge €40 plus. ( we got the bus to the hotel ) The staff booked us a very comfortable minivan for the journey back to the airport for half the price. I wouldn’t hesitate in returning to this hotel.
We originally booked this room for two nights but ended up staying an additional two nights because we liked the room and location so well! The staff in reception were so friendly and helpful. They were very available and attentive. When we were out during the day, we came back to a tidy room! The restaurant downstairs was wonderful for breakfast plus, guests were given a discount. We definitely recommend Boutique Suites Joyce if you want to be in old Town and close to the waterfront. We would stay here again in the future!
We did 3 nights here and we wished we could have stayed longer!! Rooms were big and clean and overlooked the square, restaurants were starting within a minute of leaving the front door!! Staff were great and front desk staff were more than happy to help you with any questions you asked!! Definitely would go back to this hotel!! 👍👍
Excellent location, loud in the evenings
Joyce is very well situated, has parking nearby. Some things in the bathroom do not work[ air extractor, mirror light]. A concert in front pf the premises every evening [sep 16 to 18].
Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms were nicely furnished and the AC worked well
Excellent
Amazing location and staff
Staff was very friendly. Parking is available at another spot and he explained in details how to get there. Location is very central but we didin't hear the noise once window was closed.
Friendly staff. Clean, close to city center
Traveller
Young man and lady at the front desk were most helpful
A really nice hotel in a prime location. We had a hard time finding it and the receptionist walked to our car and guided us to the hotel. It is a really nice part of Pula.
Clean & comfy but very cramped
The room looked much bigger when we booked but it was very cramped so definitely wouldn't want to stay more than a couple of nights. The bathroom in particular was tight. The curtains didn't really keep much daylight out and the light from the hallway lit up the room a bit at night. Pretty noisy over the weekend but it is a fairly central location so this was to be expected. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable.
Great location, nice room, friendly staff
Visited October 2022. Stayed one night on our tour through Croatia. Very nice hotel in old city center. Clean, quiet, great location. Receptionist Marina was extremely helpful in giving us directions and information about the city.
The property was situated in the heart of Pula. Great location to walk to anything in Pula. Parking is available.
Very clean, very friendly staff, great location. I'd recommend it to anyone. And if I should find myself back in Pula again, I'd stay here again, without a moment's hesitation.
Fantastic location, close to everything in the centre. Attic room was small as expected but very clean & modern with really good A/C. Staff friendly and helpful.
Expensive for the location and standard of hotel
Expensive for the hotel and location. Room was basic to say the least, no safe, no fridge, coffee machine etc. small single beds and small television. Lots of noise from the outside every night ranging from bands to singers to DJ's. Air conditioning seemed to have one setting, freezing cold or off (despite setting higher). Breakfast not available in the hotel, need to go to an outside restaurant.
Fantastic location
The staff was very accommodating and nice . They really took care of us .
Check in was fast great location to everything
parking is horrible, everything else is great.
Excellent location
Friendly staff and prime location
The receptionist and hotel staff was so friendly. They tailored to all our needs without hesitation. The location of the hotel was prime. It’s the ideal location if you want to be walking around everywhere.
Solo Traveler
Cozy, clean room that was everything I needed as a solo traveller that was using the hotel as simply somewhere to put my head at night. Really well located in Pula within walking distance of the towns main attractions.
Like location, views from veranda looking toward boat harbor and sunsets, pleasant place to sit and drink coffee or read or people watch, room window views of the old town across the water
I was delayed getting to the hotel. I sent a message saying that I wouldn’t get there until midnight or 1:00am. I was further delayed and didn’t get there until 2:30am. The staff member was still there waiting for me to show up. Great location. The room was more than I expected for the price. The only issue was the advertisement said they had parking. It was not available because it was full. I parked in a paid parking spot without paying and got away with it as far as I know at this point. But it’s a rental car and I don’t know how ticketing works in Croatia...
Too noisy. Parking a real hassle and place is overpriced
Great location...close to everything . Nice staff. Very clean
Really helpful friendly staff. Lovely clean hotel.
Great location, bathrooms in clean and have decent space, all the staff that I met was friendly, but I found rooms are tiny, perhaps it's the configuration.
Hostel Joyce, New Unit, Free Parking
Our first stay in a hostel was because I mistook boutique hotel for boutique hostel but it was OK. We had a renovated room about 3 minutes from the main hotel in the city center (much quieter) and it was new, clean and almost like a hotel, with out a few of the finer accessories one becomes used to but are not necessary. It suited our needs perfectly with private free parking too.
The location was very good, room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the staff were terrific!
Very central in the city. The hotel room was clean and staff were very helpful.
We were particularly impressed with the the helpful nature of the staff both on Reception and the manager who was proactive in responding to our needs. We were most grateful for the air conditioning which made our stay comfortable during the current heatwave. We did have an issue with noise on the first few nights from the bar next door (weekend) However, this was dealt with straightaway and resolved through mediation between our manager of the bar next door. The hostel is located near a popular historical sight and as such attracts much activity from early evening onwards. We enjoyed a series of events which took place just outside the hotel. If you liked to be at the heart of things then this is the place for you. We would return to this hostel; it was busy but relaxed.
Great location a/c clean friendly. So close to everything it was amazing.
Great place to stay!
Hotel was amazing, super clean, great location, comfortable. Tony at the front desk was amazing! Very helpful young man.
Hotel needs improvements
There were multiple front desk. First Lady was friendly but the next two were not. One guy claim to not know how to make an extra key and the second guy was rude. He didn’t know how to speak to you. He was asking how many people were in the room as if you were going to be arrested. One of my friend was moved to another room but the shower press was bad. The elevator broke while we were there. The restroom at the main floor was not well stock. Vending machine was duck tape and still had stuff in it.
Absolutely perfect location!
Absolutely perfect location, be hard pressed to find better. Excellent service throughout our stay. Happily return.
Really good position for 'all tourist sights' in the town
Tony was excellent help, a real positive guy and very helpful. The location could not have been better, with amazing view.
As the taxi driver explained to us on the way from the airport to the hotel “it’s right in the centre, the epicentre”. Centrally located, extremely convenient for all the major tourist attractions, bars and restaurants of Pula. We stayed out of season so there was no street noise, even though the room faced directly on to the main square - the windows were double-glazed anyway and the room had air con. The hotel has no dining facilities - it is just rooms. There are plenty of places on the doorstep for breakfast and coffee or dinner however. Room was spotlessly clean. My only gripe was the two single beds pushed together when we thought we were getting a double/queen bed, but I believe this is down to the description on Expedia rather than the hotel. It seems the hotel only does single beds. The hotel can book fixed-price airport transfers - they kindly did this for us with very little notice as we had booked our break last minute. Their assistance with the airport transfer was hugely helpful. Overall, for the price, great value for money for a quick city break.
Great location
Clean convenient and helpful staff. No breakfast bit available very close by.
Not a hostel, great location!
This is not a hostel, you have your own room and bathroom, old building near everything in old town. Clean, friendly service, room small but fine, TV didn't work, internet was good but not secure, free pula wifi near tourist information in square, no breakfast available but tons of coffeshops nearby. We booked the only room with a balcony, it was worth it, you sit directly outside the Arch of Sergii, you will not regret it. This hotel is close to everything, there are many cool Roman ruins nearby some of which are tricky to find. The arena is amazing but take a look at the small arena and 'maritime' museum. Learn about the histri, the pirates/peoples of Croatia pre-Roman, very cool, lots of mysterious places all around Pula, if you have the time go explore! If you're driving private parking is worth every euro, it was $15 euro per night. It's a bit tricky to get to, part of the adventure. Go eat at Jupiters, close to hotel, it is great, their house Teran is served per liter and worth it.
Excellent hotel, very central location.
We really enjoyed exploring the old city, eating, drinking and soaking up the atmosphere in Pula. There are some stunning sights, from the Roman mosaic floor, hidden away behind a modern day car park to the jaw-dropping splendour of the amphitheatre and the slender beauty of the Augustus Temple. An amazing few days away ... we will go back there again one day.
Well Located and Friendly Staff
Well located hostel, rooms very clean, staff friendly. Worth the money
Excellent, friendly helpful staff, fantastic central Pula location, beautiful city.
Small but cosy, good location
We had a little attic room, it was cosy and bed was comfortable, good bathroom, but quite small with no storage room for luggage. Also unfortunately had noise through the night from the other rooms. Great location.
Hostel Joice
Great convenient location right in the centre of the city. Great room and very clean.
Great location. Friendly staff. Room was kind of cramped, but ok.
Wonderful
Great location to some of the sights and restaurants. The staff was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. Has ac in room. Alittle small but great for our one night stay. The parking was tricky with a charge. I would recommend this hotel and I would go back
Pros: Location was very nice and having the elevator in the hotel was helpful for my special condition. Cons: The noise from the street at night was pretty loud. The room was clean, but not a lot of places to be able to put your things down in the room and the bathroom.
nice hotel great location
just on the edge of the old town ,next to the impressive golden gate .rooms were bright clean and airy . the reception staff were very friendly and approachable. they had great knowledge of the area ,and helped me plan numerous trips .even the hiring of a motorcycle!
Great location: on the Historic Street with lots of restaurants, shops, short walk to Pula Arena and ferry. Clean, chic, and conditioned. Quiet inside, it was a concert until 11 p.m. when we stayed. Friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Thank you very much.
Very central location, with sound proof windows. Comfortable clean room - only useful addition would be a chair in the rooms and a kettle.
Lovely rooms but very very small and an even smaller bathroom , on line photos are misleading I’m afraid to say
Small but perfectly formed
The hostel is in an ideal position right at the heart of Pula's Old Town. Rooms are on the small side but adequate, with space to hang your clothes, large bed, TV, quiet air con, and ensuite facilities. Stone steps lead up to the entrance, and this may be an issue for some, but once inside there is an elevator to each floor. Our room was spotlessly clean and sunny, with a view overlooking the square. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and this makes all the difference for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Hostel Joyce and would recommend it to others.
Lovely hotel in the centre of town, nearly all the sites and amenities
Great location next to the Roman triumphal arch.
This not a hostel! You will get your own (although a pretty tiny) room with a private bathroom (toilet and shower). The hotel has an elevator, which is very handy if you have heavy luggage. The room is air conditioned, has a TV, but no refrigerator or microwave. Wifi is included in price and works well. The shower had excellent pressure. Hotel is very well located literally next to the Roman triumphal arch, which is an entrance to the city's central pedestrian area with all the restaurants, shopping, entertainment and sites. Parking in Pula is a nightmare, but the hotel assisted with a private parking spot at a cost of 15 Euro per day. Reception personnel was very helpful and professional. I would stay in this hotel again.
We never even had our stay!
The hotel promotes a 24 hour front desk which is why I chose it and requested a late check in. Our flight was delayed and I tried calling multiple times to let them know when we expected to arrive with no answer but wasn't too worried because I expected someone to be there 24 hours. When we arrived at 3am very tired there was a sign at the locked door of the hot l saying it's only open till midnight. Though I'd been calling far before midnight with no answer anyway but why promote a 24 hour front desk when you don't have one. We rang the bell and sat outside for a while with only a few hours to rest before our 7am ferry we had to catch. We walked to the ferry port and weren't able to sleep until we checked into our Venice accommodation at 3pm today. We only have 2 days here and had to waste an entire one sleeping. We want our money back for the 2 rooms we paid for. I'm
Sunny Istria
The hotel was perfectly located within short walking distance of key attractions and near bus stops and taxi rank and innumerable restaurants and cafes available for breakfast snacks and dinners. The hotel was functional with friendly helpful knowledgeable front desk staff and the rooms were OK if a little bit tight for space but fine for a 2 night stay
Good and small
Clean newly renovated room with shower in bathroom. Tiny room no cupboard, hanging rail only. Good for the night we stayed, helpful pleasant reception staff on checkin and checkout
Insanely nice staff that are very willing to help you. Located in a great location and super clean rooms
Location of this hotel was amazing. Right in the centre of great shops, restaurants, and a short walk away from wonderful historic sites. The hotel staff was so nice and accommodating, helping us plan day to day activities as well as plan longer term itineraries for later on in our trip. Overall great stay.
The staff were great and super helpful. Such a nice place! Exceeded my expectations.
Great Location
Right where a tourist wants to be - near all the sights and good restaurants. Staff helped us get early morning taxi to airport and open a bottle of wine. Loved the energy
Great hotel right in the middle of town
A great location for all facilities in town. It is ideally situated next to the popular Roman Arch. Very friendly staff.
Brilliant hostel
Despite being called a hostel, this is not a hostel. The rooms are private and modernly furnished with ensuites and wifi. The receptionists are available 24/7 and are very helpful with recommendations and taxi bookings. The rooms are cleaned daily and the hostel is located right in the center of Pula, next to great restaurants (I would recommend Alighieri and Jupiter), attractions and bus stops which can take you to beach destinations. The only drawback was that the wifi in our room was practically non-existent.
Excellent hotel
Very good hotel in the perfect location. Friendly staff and absolutely the best place to base yourself

Great location for us, a short ride from the ferry port and easy walking to everything we wanted to see. It was exactly as advertised. The staff were helpful and communicated before and during our short visit.
