Everything was good but I there are too many construction sites around
Property was unfinished and water leaks and we got no discount
Lovely villa and property. Definitely recommend.
The Location
Nice ressort to rejuvenate
Privacy is fun
Relaxing
It was new. Furniture was nice and clean.
This was a nice everything in one, family friendly resort! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. It was the perfect 5 day getaway to celebrate my daughter’s birthday!
Excelente para descansar . Personal amable. Instalaciones impecable
If I travel back to Curacao I would really like to stay there again
Everyone was extremely courteous and welcoming. The Staff was went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Making themselves available around the clock and extremely accommodating. The only thing I wasn’t pleased with was the all-inclusive breakfast which consisted of the same meal. Everyday. No substitutes. Also the website advertised a grass tennis court, which it was not.
It was an amazing apartment to stay in while vacationing. I highly recommend this place and service was wonderful
its a nice property, we just had a hard time looking for the reception area, but overall it was great.
We loved the Blue Bay, the beach is one of the best resort beaches we experienced on the island. The resort is huge though and if you're staying at the Garden Apartments you need either a car or rent one of the golf carts to get around. Luckily we had a car. The walk to the beach is doable but in the humid heat it would not have been a good time to walk in. Our 2 bedroom apartment was great only thing to note is that there is no air conditioning in the living space but there is in the bedrooms, but not a big deal because the doors to the patio open all the way. We ate a the beach bar(10/10), Blue Bay Beach Restaurant Coast restaurant (10/10) and Restaurant Lemongrass (10/10). They were all really good especially the berry pancakes at the Lemongrass. All the restaurants also were decently priced for a resort restaurant. The Garden Apartments area was beautifully maintained and the pool was clean and very nice. We enjoyed our stay!
Felt very safe for me and my family
Best vacation.
The property, beach and villa were amazing. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. My only issue was the lack of communication from the resort before arriving. We reached out to the front desk and the golf shop via email and phone. We only were able to communicate with the golf shop via phone and the prices quoted over the phone and posted on the website were different at the resort…When we brought up the issue to management they simply said the “the price is the price” …that is my only complaint, we would have been better prepared with our golf clubs if the prices were quoted correctly. I do not feel it was handled properly being that we were staying on property.
The resort was extremely safe, nice staff, and the grounds were well kept. Unfortunately, it was closer to camping than a beach resort. There is no air conditioning except for the 2 bedrooms, which have no TV. The kitchen and living room are sweltering hot all day and night. There are also no screens so if you open the wood slats, bugs can come in. We were warned by hotel staff to be careful opening wood blinds because mosquitoes carry dengue fever. Yikes! Every outside noise is heard inside. Loud neighbors woke us up nightly! During our 8 night, 9 day stay, housekeeping only came one time. You are reusing towels for days. They have no washcloths at the property. The flush on our toilet broke. I was told maintenance would fix. Nobody came that day. When we asked about it again, we were asked to use the 2nd toliet for the remainder of our stay because they needed to take the entire wall piece off to fix the flusher. The four of us ended up having to use one toilet for the last 2 days, even though we purposely paid for a 2 bathroom unit. On the 2nd day, our dishwasher started stinking up our entire unit. It smelled as though rotting fish was in it, even though no dishes or anything were in it. We dealt with the horrible smell and 3 days of maintenance coming in and out until they finally found something causing it 3 days later. Beach and restaurants are not walkable distance. Consider somewhere that’s better maintained…
Villa that we stayed in was extremely nice and comfortable!
I think they should tell people before hand that they are responsible for their own water and electric usage Their electric sockets are different and they need special plugs Other then that I enjoyed myself Thanks
We stayed a week in a two bedroom condo at the Shores. Excellent location with beautiful beach view. The place had everything we needed including a big balcony facing the beach. Staff was very welcoming and assisted us with our needs.
The apartment was wonderful. Very comfortable and quiet. The pool right out front was lovely. Internet signal in the room wasn't the greatest which impacted the tv use (smart tv). Expedia listed a microwave in the room but there was only an oven. It was about a ten minute walk to the beach. Restaurants were all excellent. I would return.
The Blue Bay apartment was more or less ok to stay for a week, but due to several very uncomfortable features, I can’t imagine staying here for a longer period of time: -The windows in the apartment are all looking at a very busy road used by huge construction vehicles from 6:40am until late evening. It would be ok if there were actual glass windows on them, but there are only wooden shades and NO glass on doors and windows facing this road. To avoid mosquitos coming into the bedroom, these were kept closed down for a week, which made it so awfully dark and unpleasant in the room. -There are not enough lights in the bedroom and one of the bedside lights is broken off - The air conditioning is only present in bedrooms and not in the large kitchen/living room area. It gets extremely hot in this area and no fans were provided. Doors to the balcony need to stay closed during rainy mosquitoes season - Only 4 free pods of coffee were provided for the 4 people staying for 7 days. Not a single supermarket on the island sells these special size Lavazza pods, only reception sells them at $1/each -The beach is 20min walk away, but there are absolutely no walkways available for pedestrians and cars and construction vehicles drive 10-20 miles above speed limit on these roads -If we do come back to Blue Bay again, staying at the beach buildings, or close to the beach, is necessary, unless those are cost prohibitive
Overall I had a great time, I wish I would have done more research and rented a car, because we spent quite a bit of money on using the taxi service. The front desk (Yvette and Danielle) were absolutely a pleasure and the Chef, kitchen staff and Bartender at Lemongrass made it even better. My husband had an iguana prepared that was amazingly cooked and presented it was the highlight of his visit, but we definitely will stay here again when we return.
Great private beach
The private beach was very nice. Snorkeling was great. Felt very safe the whole time. When in room it was pretty quiet. Some construction nearby but they didn’t start super early and didn’t work on the weekend. Pool was nice, too, but spent most of the time at the beach.
Resort is beautiful on a magnificent beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nicely kept grounds and good food and bar service on beach. Our unit: Two million dollar view in our large 3 BR/3 bath condo, contrast with college dorm quality furnishings. Needed new paint and bathroom cabinets falling apart. Most uncomfortable beds and pillows. Seems like after purchasing unit owner ran out of money to furnish and upkeep.
The property was clean and well maintained with the exception of the fridge and coffee maker. There should be air conditioning on the main living area. Some mosquitos. All in all not bad.
Property was peaceful & beautiful. Not much information was provided, it was difficult finding activities to do on the property & the surrounding island. Need better road maps, directions for areas to go would be very beneficial. Maybe it’s a cultural thing but to get waited on was comical. Didn’t seem as though anyone cared on how your meals were or if you would like more to drink & waiting on the bill took quite a long time. Always had to ask for it, usually from someone else & not the server/waiter. It’s almost as if they disappeared or left for the day.
View access to beach. Could use a little upgrade. Wonderful safe base in Curacao.
Great view, location, breeze, etc. Very safe as well due to constant security patrol
We like everything. Except to many mosquitoes ........
Pretty good, but not enough to keep me.
Somewhere between 3.5 to 3.6 stars but not a 4 If I had to pick out all the minor flaws with the room they would be high double digits. All these little things add up. The private beach is a 3 minute drive, it's decent, not the clearest waters but passable. The bar serves decent food at fair price w/ live music at night. At the end I've decided to cut my stay short and try other 4 star resorts.
It was cleaned and in a safe community. Overall was nice and comfortable for a family of four with children, there was no AC other than the rooms, it would have been nice to at least have some fans in the living room to help flow the air inside, we had all windows open all day and it did help a little but it is not enough air circulation. We would stay here again, the beach was a 2 min drive and we were lucky our unit was right in front of the pool which was perfect for our boys. We made most of our meals in the equipped kitchen which has all the basic for what you , there is also a great grocery store close by (maybe a 5 min drive). It was a beautiful place.
Beautiful View Great Space
The views here are simply gorgeous and the unit was clean. The staff were accommodating a few small challenges but all were handled. I recommend this property and would stay here again.
We stayed at the Ocean View rooms. The rooms are really outdated and we had a large mosquito infestation. Every night we had to kill at least 20 mosquitos and we would still wake up with bites. One night my husband couldn’t sleep at all because he kept getting attacked by them. Other than that the property is very nice and under construction for their new development. The beach staff was nice and friendly. There are two iguanas that were on the beach at all times and we’re really chill. One downside is there is no gym or running trial. Should really consider adding a gym to the resort.
The location is stunning and the apartment was spacious and well furnished. It was obvious that there had been smokers staying there, though (the curtains really need to be cleaned) and the code we were given for the front door was invalid, leading to a 20 minute wait outside at 11pm to get inside.
WE ENJOYED BLUE BAY RESORT VERY MUCH.THE BEACH IS AMAZING.THINGS TO IMPROVE WE STAYED AT GARDEN #24 THE MATTRESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.THERE WAS NO LAUNDRY AREA ON THE RESORT OR IN OUR CONDO.WE FEEL TO KEEP THE OCEANS AND BEACHES BEAUTIFUL THAT THEY SHOULD CONSIDER RECYCLING IN ALL THE UNITS.
Great location, beach was nice! We got ocean apartment and it was perfect.
A good place to relax, it was good to have access to WiFi around the place. Did not like the beach; too many rocks in the water. Definitely a car is needed to move around the compound. No phones in the room, if you have an emergency you get no help!!! The staff was friendly
The pool/villa access and access to the beach. Loved it!
Great beach and accommodations Garden area was extremely romantic
Very disappointing
The kitchen was infested with cockroaches. There was no outdoor patio. There was no washing machine. The beach was beautiful the pool was nice and the golf course was lovely. We stayed in the Blue Bay Village last year and it was much nicer. Plenty of space to have breakfast outside or just lounge with a book. It had a washing machine and there were no cockroaches. It was also a shorter walk to the beach. We had to drive to the beach daily as we have a 1 year old and a 3 year old I would never stay in the Blue Bay gardens again. It was awful
Very kind and helpful staff. No issues with any refinery smells as in other posts. We stayed in the bungalows and absolutely loved them. Would have loved some paper towels and dish detergent to be provided but otherwise very good. We will be back!
The layout of the suite was perfect. Also, the inclusion of plates and utensils was helpful.
Best beach in Curocao. Good food at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly. Good golf facility on location. Great dive and snorkelling on the beach. Stay close to the beach is best. Three Ocean buildings are more pricey but worth it. We rented a three bedroom unit with full kitchen for 5 people. The views from our balcony are out if this world. Need a car or taxi to go to town or shopping. We enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful property and beach. I felt like the staff in general was not overly attentive compared to other resorts we’ve visited in our travels. For example, we could never get anyone to take our drink order on the beach even though staff was walking around with menus and it didn’t appear busy. Also, food at the beach restaurant was sort of strange and limited in variety.
Loved the property. It is the most lovely place to stay on the island. Beautiful views, perfect beach with lots of fish to see when snorkelling, excellent golf course that we had almost all to ourselves every day. The pool was clean and had lounge chairs. I have been to Blue Bay 4 times and would definitely recommend. I do have some suggestions that may improve your guest experience. 1. Provide Do Not Disturb signs for the doors. There were several days when we were napping and the cleaner would come into the apartment. 2. Kitchens are reasonably equipped but please provide a pitcher to refrigerate water. The drinking water here is excellent but it does not come out of the tap cold, so having the ability to keep some in the fridge would be appreciated.
nice stay
stay was amazing spacious room. only the cleaning can be improved. a lot of dust...
Great beach and beach bar..golf course well maintained. room service could be better
It's was nice staying there. We will definitely return there very soon.
the views from our room were outstanding the beach was the best the restaurant and beach bar great food but expensive. the room was nice size but outdated
Great Villa stay.
We stayed at the Blue Bay Garden Villa. Very spacious and met all of our needs!! Check-in was very quick and easy. Beach was great and near by pool was also a nice touch. MAKE SURE YOU RENT A CAR. I can’t imagine what my experience would have been if I was without a car.
Beautiful property with horrible management. We arrived in the afternoon and were driven to our room about a mile from the reception desk. Upon opening the door, we were greeted by many mosquitos and flies in the room. There was no soap, no shampoo, no hand towels and no bath mats. There was a kitchen with a broken coffee pot and no soap. We did not realize that our electronics needed adapters so we had no power for cell phones, etc. There was no house phone in the room, we were given a What’s App number and told to text or call there. We were told that there were three restaurants on the beach, but none opened for breakfast and we would have to go to reception for breakfast near the golf course. They would pick us up if they had a golf cart otherwise we would have to walk. After the receptionist left we began to panic because this was supposed to be paradise and it resembled hell! We immediately texted for assistance and luck for us, most of the employees at this resort are doing their best regardless of being thrown to the wind by management. Emma from reception immediately came back with soap, towels, extra adapters a bath mat, and she made arrangements for a car to be rented for the next morning at 9. She was a life saver to say the least. The room was supposed to be cleaned every three days but was only cleaned once and they never returned for 5 days. Beds were hard as a rock!
Nice resort, really huge
We absolutely loved staying at Blue Bay, it was modern, spacious, and absolutely beautiful. However staying in the gardens was quite the troop to anywhere else on the grounds, and the living area had no air conditioning so it was extremely hot, and there were a lot of mosquitos. Again, this is nothing against the resort but if you are not a fan of being hot and mosquitos you might want to stay in Ocean suites.
The property is nice but we stayed in a villa not sure what to call it that had no A/C in the living room you could not open the Jalosies because the mosquitos would come in. We dealt with an ant infestation that we had to constantly kill and clean up the entire time we were there and oh by the way no washing machine and dryer in the villa/condo. The closet where the broom and iron board were in had a terrible smell and I had to keep using my Doterra oil to kill the smell, and also use my Doterra peppermint oil to keep the ants under control. Made it difficult to cook. Worse of all the lighting was awful you could not really see anything the KW was low yellow lights juts awful for reading, cooking not sure why it was like this. Imagine they want $250,0000 for the villa/condo. over priced
Nice place to be
Gre8 location and facilities. our apartment has a super nice view. room is very spacious. all kitchen utensils available. spacious bathrooms/bedrooms. nice balcony nice beach - nice food at the restaurant. it was an awesome stay and will book it again.
Great place to stay in Curacao
Duplex was very nice and well maintained. Beds were comfy and bedroom AC worked great. Kitchen well equipped for cooking or light meals. Centrally located for easy access to town or Western beaches and close to Centrum market for cooking needs. Loved the sliding louvered doors that opened up and allowed the breeze. Downfall with the louvered doors on two walls was the mosquitoes around Blue Bay. Night time was pretty brutal in the open air house with all the mosquitoes biting away. The only other negative to the house and the louvered doors was the day the grounds crew was around the house with the leaf blower. Blew the dirt right in through the louvered doors ( even with the doors closed and louvers shut), dust/dirt coated everything. Glad we had the solid bedroom doors closed at the time. Staff at Blue Bay are all wonderful and accommodating at all hours. We got locked out of the house when the battery on the door lock went dead, and the security staff and front desk help were great in getting it fixed for us. Golf course has some great views and is well maintained. Blue Bay beach is quite nice with palm trees for shade. The beach was about a 15 min walk from our rental.
Beatifull place to stay with your loved one
Though we stayed one night, it was a very pleasant time at the house we booked. We could enjoy of our privacy, cook for one each other and just enjoyed our stay!
Nice condo on the beach
We have enjoyed Blue Bay for over 10 years now. We noticed a significant change in customer service and staff friendliness this year. It was a great pleasure. We are an active couple and enjoy the excellent on site golf, tennis and diving. It is a good family environment. We choose a condo over a room to provide us the option of home meals. It is in this category that the condo units could use some updating of appliances and replenishing of dishes and cook ware. It seems they are providing low end product (cookware) that has reached its effective usefulness. Adequate dishes, glasses and sharp knives should be provided. This is not a deal breaker, but more of an annoyance. We highly recommend Blue Bay.
Beautiful Beach Well worth the money.
The accommodations were outstanding. The apartment was beautiful. The furniture was ok but not great. They only cleaned a couple of times during the week but we knew that going into the week. They could have had a broom with dust pan so we could clean up the sand that was tracked in from the Beautiful Beach. Which you had a gorgeous view of. We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe oceanfront apartment in the Oceans complex. Over all it was well worth the money. And yes you have to rent a car when in Curacao.
Fantastic location. Our bungalow could you some tlc. Missing light fixtures on wslk so night lighting was poor. Squashed bugs on walls, bit disconcerting as some were bloody mosquitos. Walking out to pool was fantastic, although pool could use some work. Loved housekeeping & fresh beach towels at our bidding
Nice Resort too Far from everything
We arrived in a Friday, left on Tuesday a nice long weekend stay. The Hotel room was large and very comfortable. You could sleep 4-5 ppl easily. PROs: friendly staff, clean room, beautiful room CONs: Resort restaurants are way over priced and not worth it, beach small, you need a car. The Resort is so big you need a car especially if you stay on the garden side. Taxis are expensive so I would advice everyone to rent a car. It was easy for us to get around the island with GPS (google maps) from our phones. Overall Curacao is a beautiful island. If you stay at this resort stay on the ocean side. It makes a big difference
Great enjoyed it, would recommend it and would stay again
Very nice hotel, accommodations and staff very kin
We had a family wonderful stay, overall. Food was expensive and rooms (Garden Section) lighting was very poor. Full of mosquitos, first days we were eaten alive in the rooms. Need to fumigate more. Besides that, its a place to come back. Greetings! Roxy
Rooms are very dark, no windows just shatters. This year we were attacked by sand flies. This happens to us the first time, while we already were at this island three times.
Beach is beautiful. Resort is average.
Beautiful beach. Need a car to get from most rooms to the beach and just to get around the resort. Resort is 3 star status. Meets the basic requirements. Nothing luxurious about it. Garden unit was relatively new and was in good condition. Prices for food and drinks at the bar is on the high end. If you're paying for a 3 star hotel then this is one of the best you can find. If you're paying anything more then look at other options. Curacao has beautiful public beaches that you can drive to. So beach at the hotel is not a must.
Luxurious and safe
I stayed at blue bay for the Christmas 2017 holidays and the staff were very helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and modern. The location of this resort however is a little far from the main roads so i would recommend renting a vehicle for your stay. The staff will be happy to facilitate this as well.
The only issue we had with the resort is that we arrived early an anticipated spending a few hours at the restaurant or beach waiting for our room. The staff was confused as to what to do with us and expected us to stay at the office which is no where near the beach, restaurant or anything else. They did take us to the restaurant but we felt they should have been more proactive in seeing that we were accommodated rather than assume we would fend for ourselves in the middle of no where (where the office is) for several hours. WHy the office for checking in is not closer to the facilities was a surprise.
Lovely Apartment near the Beach
Beautiful scenery. Apartment was fully equipped. My hubby the cook did not like the stove. But after many attempts to learn how to operate it things went better. The only complaint I had, which is very minor, is that our apartment was so close to the beach but a long way to walk around to get there.
Spectacular view
We got a place at the ocean, right on the bay with a great sea and sunset view. It was a spacious apartment not a room. I guess that people expecting a hotel will miss some amenities and attention. For us this was much more than expected. Would defintely return.
Comfortable, kind staff, excellent service
I have been staying every september since 2014 and I am sure I will be coming back next year again. Golf course has improved so much since 2015. Beach, beach facilities and beach restaurant are all marvelous. Staff is always warm and kind. Congratulations!
Great, though not really a hotel
It was a confy 3 bedroom apartment with full kitchen (including a dishwasher), not more than 300m away from a great beach. The only down sides where that it had no room service and no internet access, other than that it was great.
Ocean view
A great resort, ocean view was a great, apartment big, beach and pool steps away. The beach was great with lots of shade the only downside was the cigarette ends in the sand, literally hundreds! Staff were friendly but, at the beach very very slow. There seem to be 3 staff employed to stand around at the bar and only one serving which was bizarre. Apparently the 3 did beach service but they didn't walk the beach and so you had to go to the bar to order. Anyway, for us the resort was fantastic with 2 small kids, there was everything we wanted and I would definitely return.
Good layover
For the one night we spent in Curacao, Blue Bay provided very good accommodation for 4 adults and 2 adoloscents. The evening in Willemstad was perfect.
Did not meet our expectatios
No wifi in the room, the appartment was poorly cleaned, unconfortable bed and pillows. No attencion from the staff, and an impolite checkout letter.
Be Careful
Me and my cousin went on vacation here may 11- may 17. The resort is big and but it has a lot of construction going on. When checking in they lied about their hotel amenities there isn't any shuttle or wifi like stated. The gym is a shack with a sign that says Gym. Which made me very upset. They put us in a dirty room until we complained then upgraded us to a ocean view room Now the rooms here are big but they need to do a thorough cleaning. The housekeeping staff were the best part of the trip. They were so friendly. Majority of the staff in the restaurants/bar were very nice. However the resort is over priced the food wasn't the greatest compared to other resorts I've been too. Overall it wasn't worth the money I paid. You need a rental to get anywhere even 5mins off the resort. Because they lied about shuttle service. I would only stay here again if it was updated, the food was worth the price tag and they hire new professional managers. Our first room looked like someone already slept there. Elevator wasn't working etc. like I said I wasted my money staying here. We had to ask for toilet paper, they didn't have wash clothes only towels, they charged you for electrical adapters because we couldn't use their outlets to charge or plug anything.
Caribbean answer.
Its the smell of the gas in the area which puts one off. I know it comes and goes with the wind, but….. But I also know that all that , will change as the whole area will be relieved of this gas smell soon. I thought we would be in a hotel room as was booked, but landed in a complete apartment!
Nice experience
The appartment was clean and comfortable. The onlything was that the TV signal was weak but guess because it's close to the beach. Other than that it was a very nice experience for my friends visiting from aruba.
Nice location and wonderfull golf course
Overall staff allways willing to help and very friendly security team.
Secluded golf / beach resort
The property was quite large. We were not there for the golf course. The beach area was low to moderately populated which was nice, older couple / family vibe. The sparse population gave the beach (cove) a very private feel. The restaurant right on the water, at the the end of the cove, was excellent. Scuba instructors were knowledgeable and friendly. Wifi was limited, which was actually nice to disconnect. You can borrow a power adapter to charge US phones. You will want to rent a car unless you plan to stay on beach and inside resort.
Gorgeous resort on the beach
We enjoyed our stay at Blue Bay. It was a beautiful resort, and our suite had an amazing beach view. I would stay here again.
No Wifi, no elevator, far from beach
If you think you are booking in a paradise, please check this first.I booked a luxurious bedroom on the resort, right? They put us in a 4th floor, no elevator, up hill , 2 miles or more from the beach and no Wifi ( they say it just works in the lobby, other 2 miles ) Not happy, we complained and the manager told us the property is huge., so it is ny problem, or pay more to upgrade ..ok but it is not clear you NEED a car to go to the beach or to use WIFi or go to any pool or restaurant. Avoid this run down place if you do not want headaches...
First impression not good but improves in time
Room was not as advertised. No toaster, microwave or blender we had to request hair dryer. View from room was spectacular but room was very bare and naked with minimum comfort. It was cleaned every day and service was good. Plenty of walking trails and beach area was great with shade and chairs for everyone golf was good. Food was ok but expensive centrum super market close by and reasonably priced
We had a 3 bedroom unit for 4 guys, very spacious! Our balcony was huge with an incredible view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. Also a view of the eighteenth fairway with a dozen pink flamingos in the pond. Our only issue was no Wi-fi. We had to walk to the Golf clubhouse to get a signal. The golf course was great and the beach was great. What else can I say, I'd return in a heartbeat.
Febuary trip.
This was our second trip to Blue Bay in 2 years, and we must say the quality of food, service, and all around condition of the property has gone down. It is a beautiful place but could be so much better.
Hotel is okay, beach apartment is better
Staff are very helpful, beautiful property and they continue to increase the beauty
Hotel staff is the worst here
Loved the location and the spacious rooms but hotel staff significantly lacks customer service skills. Not planning to stay here next time.
Could be great
The apartment was great, but this is more a rental apartment than a hotel. The housekeeping service was terrible, the reception is about 6 blocks away (the buildings are located inside a gold community). You need a rental car during your vacations, just to go every day to the reception to change beach towels or to access the only WIFI available on the property (rooms have no WIFI). The bets part of course is the beach, the place have one of the best beaches on Curacao. But for some reason being on a private community with an apartment with a huge balcony facing the beach, we had to walk all around the buildings to access the beach instead of having direct access to the sand that was a few meters away.
hotel under constructions, room never cleaned righ
the hotel is under construction and the one restaurant you can eat at was closed. so no food. and the island is not the that easy to get around or to get food. We went for our anniversary and woke up to drilling and tiles be broken while under our room. Wanted to eat and no food cause the restaurant went under construction. Wanted a massage and they were closed to. Finally the kid care area they offered was also closed! The worst part is our room was never cleaned. we were there for four days. they would come in kind of make our bed and thats it. every day! Terrible
nice condos on a beautiful beach and bay
Beautiful Blue Bay beach, very pleasant restaurant and bar staff, front desk staff very friendly but had to ask a lot of questions to get information. Condo was very spacious and well maintained and comfortable. Air conditioning was quiet and consistently comfortable. You need your own transportation to stay here. A lot of excursion companies do not pick up / drop off at Blue Bay so you have to have your own car or pay expensive taxis. The hotel has no shuttle. Overall really enjoyed our stay.
Great.
Kind staff, ever helpful. Excellent restaurant service, beach facilities are great and diving available. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Wifi never fails. Kitchen facilities are very good. Air conditioned is in perfect conditioned. The whole complex is very attractive, with a stupendous golf course. Swimming pool close to the Villa. Towels always available when needed. Ample Parking lots.
This is a large property. Upon check in we found that this is not your usual resort. The reception desk is a long distance from our ocean front room. Once in our room, we found we were short towels and soap and the telephone did not work. We had to drive back to reception to have them send supplies. The first three days, they would remove our used towels but not replace them which meant more drives to reception. We were there for a wedding and on the day of the ceremony, they again shortchanged us on towels. When we drove back to reception, we were advised they had run out of towels and would not be resupplied until the next day. Room cleaning was hit and miss. Some days the room would be cleaned and others not. One day our clean linen was left outside our door. There is no sign for your door so the maid comes it at any time. This is not All Inclusive so the units have kitchens. They could do a better jobs of keeping the bugs to a minimum.
Curacao / Bluebay Resort
The hotel/timeshare had a very nice view of the hills and the ocean. My 1st experience wasn't favorable. There were ants in the bed and the washing machine backed up causing water to saturate the floor. The decor was a bit outdated and there was not a microwave in the unit to warm your food. Outside of that, it was not a bad or unpleasant experience.
Blue Bay June 27-July 2, 2016
The hotel was great we had 2 rooms 2.5 bathroom for just 2 of us, lots of room to spread out. The kitchen was nice but the hotel didn't supply dish soap or oven mitts! weird. So we bought dish soap at the local market and used dish towels for oven mitts. The terrace was beautiful, great views of the water. But since we were up on the hill it was about a 5 minute walk up and down a steep hill to get to the beach. Housekeeping replaced our towels each day but only swept the floor the last day before we left. I would have swept the floor but a broom wasn't provided. The location isn't really near anything, but there is a bus stop right outside the gated community (about 1 kilometer from our hotel) so it was pretty easy to get to places, like the market, downtown, etc. The beach was absolutely beautiful (that's why I chose the location) the water was so clear I could see fish just standing in the water looking down, I didn't need a face mask.
Wonderful beach and wonderful views
Best snorkeling right outside your door. Good pool. Great food and drink. Very pleasant accomidating staff, excellent security. Close to airport. We much prefer west of Willimstadtse. Less crowded and great beaches. The view out our window and every sunset is breathtaking. Our second visit. May 2016 and July 2015.
Hotel is more like your personal apartment.
It's truly a great apartment that gives you full kitchen living room area 1.5 bathrooms, walk in, huge closet and spacious bedroom! But it's missing usual things like hair dryer, iron, that you would normally see in a hotel. The room almost feels unfinished as far as shelves lack of rugs etc. So this is not your typical hotel room you would expect. However, you get things you would not with just a hotel room. The view is spectacular, huge balconyou with a sofa table and chairs! You can make your own meals in full size kitchen....which for us we would make out own breakfast each day and enjoy the view and the wonderful birds if the island.....We felt like the place was our own....you walk into the building like to your private condo...there is no front desk in each of the buildings, which I actually loved. It makes you feel like you own the place foevery a week. The only downfall is the plumbing as there was a lingering smell in the apartment when we arrived. .they were never quite able to get rid of it but we managed around it and it got better after couple days. We miss this place already, it was absolutely wonderful!!! You need a car to truly enjoy the island and we rented for a whole week....travelled to different parts of the island, shopped, just lived like local people almost for a week :) We would rent out at Blue Bay again for sure!
Nice Resort with several Hotel buildings
Nice resort. Some aparments are close to the beach but the small one (1 room) are relative far to it.
Perfect family vacation
The beach has amazing snorkeling, the staff are super helpful and the food at the restaurants was delicious. It was a perfect getaway for my family of 5 with 3 small boys
