Enjoyed our stay. Everything was very nice and very convenient with metro and train station just a block or two away.
Very convenient
Convenient location, comfortable bed, clean room.
The rooms in the hotel were truly lovely, comfortable and clean. The view from the roof was extraordinary, and people seemed to enjoy the nightly happy hour. The location was within walking distance (at least for someone who is used to walking) of major sights, and the staff were courteous. My only complaint is that there was something "cold" about one person at the desk. I asked for a restaurant recommendation beyond the one across the street, which they own, and the person at the desk said, "we don't do that. You can go look at the internet." Again, a lovely place, but whereas every other hotel I've stayed in in Italy has been so "warm," I didn't get that feeling, But I highly recommend the hotel. The breakfast is good, typical of an included breakfast and useful if you want to get going in the morning without the hassle of finding a place to eat. Again, the rooms are really nice and comfortable and they're really nice about people trying to use their Italian. Everyone's English is excellent, and I heard staff use other languages too.
1st time in Rome
The hotel is old, but beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. The only complaint is the windows are not sound proof and the noise from workers on the street were very loud.
Great option near the main train station. Very clean, large rooms. Decor a little dated but interesting. Everyone who worked there was super helpful. Rooftop bar has great views.
Great hotel and location.
Lovely hotel two minutes from Termini train station. I was so busy that I didn’t get a chance to see the rooftop bar. Next time I’m in Rome I will stay here.
The location of this hotel was fantastic as it is very close to termini station. The staff are really amazing but the hotel is tired and the buffet breakfast was poor, particularly the hot food.
Felt like a true luxury hotel; was given a room upgrade upon check-in; although early, room was available; free breakfast was outstanding; staff was great
The art deco of the property gives a nice vibe
Got bedbugs
Great long weekend venue
Visiting Rome for a longe weekend, this hotel was ideally situated, minutes from the train station, metro and bus services. Traditional and spacious, the hotel is very stylish, art deco throughout with plenty of marble! Wifi is ok, but noise [tv/ voices] does carry through between rooms, so don't expect modern hotel sound proofing! Staff very helpful and the bar serves a very large negroni..!
The staff, especially Maria were very nice and helpful.
All The staff at the hotel were exceptionally kind from the start of my stay until the end🙏 Well done team Bottoja💪
This is a good hotel close to the train station. Our room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was great.
Same and dependable not extraordinary
A step back in time.
Charming period hotel, close to Rome’s central railway station and a superb National archaeological museum. Abundant breakfast and efficient staff. Would stay again.
very helpful staff
Beautiful hotel with roof top bar overlooking the city
Friendly and beautiful!!
The hotel is a charming Art Deco style hotel from the 1930s, well preserved and cared for. Great architectural features, comfortable rooms, attentive staff. The breakfast is very good and the rooftop bar provides spectacular views of the sunset and the city. Great dining options in the neighborhood, very walkable, a bit removed from the madness and crowds of Center City Rome. It was a pleasure to come back to our oasis in the city each evening.
Walking distance from the train station. They can get you a taxi to anywhere around Rome and they also can make tours bookings for you. Very helpful staff and clean location.
So close to Termini station and the hop on hop off bus. Easy and safe walkable area. Will stay there again
Very nice hotel inside, the service is excellent. It is worth paying for breakfast, huge selection and things taste good!
I love the art deco style that they have preserved through out the property. The rooms are modern and simple. Staff was patient and professional. Breakfast was good, the usual mix of European and Continental. Great location for the train and bus terminal. Walk 10 mins any direction there's a museum or something to see. Good quality and value.
It looks like they are trying to upgrade but the carpet has to go, both in the rooms and hall was very bad. Room had new paint but needed new furniture. No longer a true 4 star property looked very tired
Great property
I had an exceptional stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were kind, warm, and accommodating. The check-in process was seamless and efficient. My room was a good size, clean, and comfortable. The location of the hotel is absolutely awesome - it's close to everything you need, and the surroundings are lovely. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable stay. The staff are truly assets to the hotel, and their friendly demeanor makes all the difference. Don't hesitate to book - you won't regret it! Highlights: - Friendly and welcoming staff - Easy check-in process - Adequate room size and cleanliness - Awesome location - Highly recommended!
The hotel is a beautiful throwback. The staff is polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful Art Deco hotel
Price was ok but the property is extremely old and needs urgent remodeling. Carpets look to old and wasted. Location is ok.
Great hotel, very nice people just a tough area at night near the train station
Booked through Expedia, I got the worst room in the house although the hotel was far from full. My room was on the 1st floor, facing immediately the service lane and garage, with deliveries, loading and unloading and garbage collection happening round the clock well into midnight each day. The air conditioning was like next to nothing, in the sweltering Roman heat of 38 degrees plus daytime and 20 in the night time. The garbage and noise in the lane the room faced meant it’s out of question to have the windows opened. It was torture.
Great hotel
Great roof bar, beautiful architecture.
Good breakfast. Clean rooms. Sheets were changed every day during room cleaning. Elevator very slow and had to take stairs. Half the time internet was not working. Stayed for 5 nights. Stuff was friendly and helpful. Room was very quiet.
Location
Rome Hotel
Excellent service, amenities, location, breakfasts and assistance. We highly would recommend it to anyone for their Rome visit.
The rooftop bar view. The service and helpfulness including having umbrellas available for visitors. Direction on dining and tours. Room service was excellent.
The hotel room was exceptionally clean, well supplies, and brightly lit. The bed very comfortable. Laundry service excellent. The staff friendly, attentive and informative about dining and sight seeing venues. A really great location to visit all the places … you can actually walk to the Vatican … coliseum … the famous wishing fountain … church museum etc. This hotel is definitely a great choice for a visit to Rome.
Been to Rome many times. Usually stayed in boutique hotel. The hotel is older. Beautiful lobby. Only issue are the rooms. When I arrived my room was ready at 10 am. Beautiful room but the safe literally sat on a shelf and was not secure. Easily to carry out of room. The room I was moved to. And this caution to who reads this. For 3 nights I awoke at 2 am saturated in sweat. They turn the AC off from the lobby at a certain time and specific temp. My window only cracked open about an inch. I couldn’t breathe in the room. Eventually I met up with Robert who corrected this and moved me to a suite. The breakfast was good but the coffee from the machine and coffee pot was lukewarm at best. Just keep in mind they control your AC at this location.
Average hotel, not worth the four star rating. Location is good.
One part of the hotel is nice refurbished the other one is not. Unfortunately we got a room in the old part, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, just the furnitures were old and seemed very used. We couldn’t close the bathroom’s door, it has to be fixed.
Excellent location near transport links.
Lovely, comfortable hotel
Everything about this hotel was wonderful. It’s steps away from the train station, literally a 5-10 minute walk from where the bus or train drops off from the airport. My room was gorgeous, clean, comfortable bed, great view of roof tops and beautiful sunsets. Breakfast was included, small hot section eggs, bacon, sausage, variety of cold cuts, (the ham was delicious) cheeses, pastries, fresh bread, yogurt, fruit and a self serve coffee machine. I had American coffee but you could have Expresso or cappuccino as well. I’m the area there are many restaurants, or take out pizza spots. There is a small grocery store, carrefour, 5 mins away, they have take out prepared salads, wine and beer. The hotel is easy walking to all of the sites. There are tons of small leather shops or inexpensive clothing shops close by. All of the staff were lovely, especially the front desk. I would stay again in a heartbeat. I’ve been to Rome several times, usually staying somewhere close to the train station. This hotel is my favourite one so far.
Excellent location
The hotel is in a great location. Literally 1 block from Termini train station. We could walk to many of the attractions in Rome. Also, so many wonderful restaurants right there..... The staff behind the front desk were very helpful. Really only thing was when the room was cleaned the mini bar was not restocked nor was the coffee. Minor details. All in all a wonderful 5 nights in Rome.
Well equipped. Great amenities. Very close to Termini station.
This property was absolutely elegant! The hotel was beautifully decorated, had outstanding staff and served delicious breakfast and dinner. We stayed in suites on the top floor and felt like royalty in Rome. We had balconies with outstanding views as this hotel is in a tall building at the top of one of Romes 7 hills. There is also a rooftop bar with amazing views! We walked to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and restaurants and shopping. The train station is an easy walk just down the street. We cannot recommend this hotel enough…we will be back!
The only thing that was a huge drawback for me is the lack of wifi, otherwise I would of given this place a perfect score
Was our favourite hotel in the City Centre. Very close to the train station which was convenient.
Excellent stay in Room
Hotel was absolutely an amazing place to stay. Within walking distance to the train station and an easy taxi ride, or long walk, to many of the main attractions. The rooms were clean comfortable and staff very helpful. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and a great breakfast. Would definitely recommend it and would stay there again. Suite 3 has an awesome balcony with great views of the city.
Overall property is nice. Proximity to the train station is Good. Their rooftop patio is nice also, but extremely pricey for their drinks.
Lovely hotel , friendly staff - v good location - would recommend
Good location if you are touring sites in Rome. If you are taking day trips out of Rome the hotel is right next to the Termini for trains. Nice art deco decor. Nice breakfast. Nice staff.
Pros: Great location. Clean and quiet rooms. Nice decor. Very polite and friendly restaurant and housekeeping stuff. Great breakfast. Cons: Reception stuff (only guys working at reception) was a bit arrogant and received different answers for the same questions depending on who was working at the reception. Once I was told that mini bar items were free and that the city tax was included in the price of the room. Another time, I was told that I have to pay for the mini bar and that the city tax will be charged upon check-out. Twice requested an electric kettle but was never given one. Requested an iron that I needed in the afternoon but was told an iron will be available next day. There was no internet in the rooms, except at 6-7 in the morning and very late at night. Reception just told me that the Internet connection was weak without offering any solution to the problem. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor. When showering, water will go out on the floor through the side of the tub. Two small elevators which were very slow. Had to climb the stairs 4 items.
The hotel is conveniently located 1 block from the main train, bus and metro station, making it very easy to get around. It is fairly centrally located, so many of the main sites are within walking distance, too. The property is lovely, and the staff very helpful. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, with a good variety of tasty food.
The room was very comfortable with everything we needed , the staff was helpful and accommodating , enjoyed our stay very much
Staff made check in very easy. There was a mix up with the driver to pick us up at the airport. Our taxi bill was actually less than the hotel driver and they still gave us free drinks in the bar for our trouble. Our suite was very spacious and right next to the rooftop bar.
Friendly, professional service. Conveniently located to downtown area transportation and restaurants.
Hotel
Large spacious bedroom and bathroom. Room tended to get a bit to warm so needed to open window
We stayed there from 30 Dec to 6 Jan. The premises condition is really not great. Wall needs repair as wall is falling off and leaking in bathroom. The photos do not match the interior condition of the room at all. House keeping didn't refill amenities and vacuum the carpet (yuck!). The wifi doesn't work at all (which I didn't see if from other review and that's why we changed to this hotel). It has been very very very noisy outside and we have to put on earplug to sleep. The breakfast is really good though while the location is perfect.
The place to stay to visit Rome.
Beautiful hotel in an ideal location for visiting Rome. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms airy, bright and spotless. Excellent restaurant across the road (same company).
Super unfriendly bunch of stuffy men at the desk, bar and breakfast room. Asked for a cup of coffee during a meal and was told ‘NO, we serve when you are finished’ and we were finished. Wouldn’t stay here again.
Lovely & spacious rooms! The balcony was a bonus!
Very nice hotel from 1940's, on the downside some parts are a bit tired after years of being used.
Phenomenal stay - will return on our next trip!
Absolutely phenomenal! The staff was kind and attentive and the room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was large and we were glad there was a mini-bar fridge in the room for storing some of our toddler’s snacks. Breakfast was excellent- a selection of meats, cheeses, juices, fruit, yogurt, pastries, breads, spreads, and self-service coffees. The breakfast room was beautiful on the first floor of the hotel. The hotel is SO close to Termini - we could see it from our room (206) but we felt very safe the entire stay. I speak passable Italian, but the staff all spoke very good English and made sure we had everything we needed. Be aware that this hotel is usually very full up, so getting a room earlier than check-in time will be tough. We arrived early and they put our luggage in their storage room so we cod walk around the city and brought it to our room when we checked in later in the day.
Pictures are very deceiving. Suites with balcony not truly balconies. Bar on rooftop small, expensive, not as expected. The restaurant is across the street. The food there was very good. Would not go back. Very noisy next to bus and train terminal.
Easy to find, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful evening doorman, reasonable cost
I have stayed at this hotel before and it just . . . . . . EXCELLENT.
Great hotel with lovely rooftop bar and great breakfast
When in Rome
It is always a pleasure to stay at Hotel Mediterraneo when in Rome. The place is beautiful and historic, the staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, and the accommodation is always exceptional.
Easy check in. Friendly staff. Great rooftop lounge/bar. Rooms were dated with standard amenities. Bed was comfy. Chose the place because it’s one block from termini station and both the A and B subway lines.
Super clean and comfy
Superrrr clean hotel!! We did not interact with the staff much except at the end at checkout and it was perfect. Personel spoke french which was very nice. We had a superior double room and it was quite big, very cozy. You are by the train station so amazing location but quite noisy at night.
1 star service motel parading as a 4 star hotel. If you have any pigment in your skin, please stay away from this hotel! We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the train station (as well as for a bit of Italian charm), but that’s where the positives ended. Our train from Milan got in around 10:30 am so we decided to check if the room was ready before we went out for the day (our rooms were ready at this same time at both Venice and Florence weeks before). On entering the hotel, we were “stared” down by the door man who continued to watch our every move while inside. We were then rudely and unpleasantly “greeted” by Roberta who noted that the room was not ready and check in would only be facilitated after 2 pm before then walking away. After asking another attendant if we can stow our bags and return later, we then left to explore. Later that evening, we met Francesco and another guy at the Front Desk who were actually quite pleasant to be fair. The Premium Deluxe room was ok; however, the hairdryer and AC did not work. We sweat through the entire night with the AC control on its lowest temperature and highest fan setting! On checkout, Roberta was there again. After smiling happily with the fairer skinned guests who checked out in front of us, Roberta failed to return a simple good morning greeting. She just asked our room number and handed us to her colleague to check us out before walking off AGAIN. Overall experience 1/10
Love the Art Deco decor and lots of storage.
The AC and the toilet stopped working during our stay & it didn't diminish our love for this utterly beautiful place to stay, two blocks from Rome Termini. Breathtaking views from the rooftop bar. I would become an expatriate author just to sit with a perfect G&T and a novel-in-progress from open to close.
Very near to Rome Termini Station and easily located. Location is perfect Room Is dated. Shower head is broken and not able to hold on to the holder properly. Kettle has to be requested but staff was fast to response Good toiletries provided. Friendly and nice staffs
Rooms are old, not maintained well and too tight
Very nice! Clean and Classy place
Bettoja Hotel Mediterraneo Is right next to Roma Termini so if you plan on going all over Rome this is the place to stay. The room is clean and the morning breakfast was a plus to save on food.
Very comfortable. We were especially impressed with the quality of the service and the caring of an older very kind gentleman who not only welcomed and checked us into the hotel. he answered a multitude of questions while we were there..including helping us find a wonderful restaurant nearby.
Lovely hotel.
Great location close to Roma Termini. The reception staff was really helpful, helping me with covid passport and directions on getting a bus and watching out for pickpockets. The hotel was spotlessly clean, I got an upgrade from a single to a double room which was much appreciated. Breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. The one thing which I was a bit disappointed with was the room was very hot which made it difficult for me to sleep. The air conditioning was limited to 19 degrees and even then the room was not cool. However I do realise I’m a bit odd in that regard so I’m not to concerned about it. I would definitely like to come back to the hotel. Really enjoyed it.
Highly recommended
Great location. The property is in very good condition. Good level of service. We really enjoyed our stay
Excellent stay
Wonderful hotel. Rooms were just as described. Front desk staff went above and beyond to make my stay the best it could be. Very good location to get to major sights.
One night stay
If traveling by train this is especially the best place to stay. Five minute walk to Rome Termini. Furthermore only a 20 minute wak to Coĺlisum, Forum and Trevi Fountain. Spotlessly clean and staff super helpful.
Fantastic experience in a walkable location
I booked this hotel based on the location near the Roma Termini station, as well as reviews and it being a well-priced four-star hotel. Navigating to the hotel was simple and very quick once we departed our train. The interior is warm and nicely designed, and the staff were courteous and welcoming. We took the elevator to our room and were absolutely astonished... The room was bright and large and more than we expected. The bathroom was larger than we were used to and there was a ton of space in case you need an area for yoga in the main bedroom area. The bed was cozy, the furnishings were thought out and fit the atmosphere, and we were blown away in general. So happy with the choice of staying here!
The hotel was excellent, with beautiful decor and facilities. All the Staff were very helpful and efficient, making my stay perfect.
It was great…..good accommodations, friendly staff , wonderful roof bar, and breakfast was excellent……it will be my go-to hotel when i return to Rome!!! For sure!!!! And very convenient to Termini…….excellent location……………Hector Pedregon, Assisi, Italia
Handy location to Roma Termini. Very friendly staff. Lovely bathroom, nice sheets and pillows.
Overall, a sense of up market at a fair price
The lobby area has yester year classy style, nice atmosphere. I appreciate a standing shower rather than bathtub. The room and bathroom are on the small side, but clean and well presented. Being so close to Termini for wheeling our luggage was great. We got a level 9 room, good views across the city.
After a long trip, the early check-in and unexpected upgrade was greatly appreciated. The staff was extremely helpful particularly in getting documents printed. The rooftop bar was very pleasant.
Great staff and convenient location
We always stay at the Mediterraneo. The people are so nice and we find the location very convenient. There was a temporary problem with the AC at the beginning of our stay--important, given the heat wave. But the staff took it seriously and made every effort to please us. Having a problem is a test of a hotel, and the Mediterraneo passed the test.
Great find, property and staff.
I really loved finding this hotel. Was at a place where the a/c and wifi were not working and they took me in at 8am! The staff was amazing so around, especially Luca at the front desk. I would definitely stay there again.
very good
it was good and clean
great place in a great location at a great price!
The hotel and our room were very clean, our beds were comfortable, and staff was friendly. We stayed for one night only because of changes in our flight that resulted in a 20 hour layover in Rome. Location is very good - just a few minutes away from the main train station on foot. If we return to Rome we will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!
Uber impressed with this hotel and can't wait to go back again. The rooms are well appointed and the communal areas are tasteful and tranquil. A beautiful hotel in a great position, helpful staff, wonderful facilities. I went with a designer who was constantly mentioning how the antique furniture was so well kept and maintained. I would be very surprised if anyone could find fault with Hotel Mediterraneo.
The staff were very helpful and we were provided with everything we needed. The room was spacious and very clean with lots of little creature comforts which made our stay more pleasant. The food was great and the atmoshphere in the restaurant was very ralaxing.
The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was a good size and very clean. The breakfast had a very good selection. I loved the old time charm of the hotel. It is in walking distance to many of the tourist sites, railway station, restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
A striking hotel in an excellent location - close to Termini station at the top end of Via Cavour. Excellent staff - very helpful. Facilities superb - my go to hotel for Rome!
Only spent 1 night but it is a beautiful hotel...large clean modern rooms and very close to the train station.
Stay here! You’ll love it!
Lovely hotel in Rome with fantastic ambiance. It is right near the train station and close to great restaurants and gelaterias. I would absolutely stay here again.

Nice hotel close to Roma termini. Very walkable distance for restaurants and shopping.
