Very clean and comfortable for a 1 night stay. No restaurant for evening meal or snacks, only a take out delivery. Good location for city centre.
Good Stay
Stay was good, hotel staff friendly and rooms were large and clean, it was local to my needs and will stay again
Fire alarm trouble
A false fire alarm went off at 3.30 AM!! The last time I stayed at this hotel the fire alarm was going off every 5 to ten minutes in the afternoon. The hotel seriously needs to sort this out.
The location is good, walking distance to lot of eating places. Parking was an issue since the onsite parking was either Non existing or not available.
The location was perfect for a short to Rock City but hotel is far from perfect. Advertised as having a restaurant ... it does not. Car park only has 11 spaces. Rooms were very noisy. Fire alarm went of 3 times durinng the night and lift packed up.Arrived home totally shattered after a 2 night stay here.
I chose this hotel as it was reasonably priced and had air conditioning. However there was no aircon in the room. I thought it was broken but when i informed the reception i was told that the system had been turned from aircon to heating. This caused a very uncomfortable nights sleep.
Lovely place, great location. Thermostat said 17 but in night was red hot. Comfy bed nice facilities
The location is central for most things, but the overall look at the entrance let it down
Best western brilliant in nottingham
Great Two Night Stay in Nottingham
We had a great stay in the Best Western Plus Nottingham City Centre hotel. It doesn't look particularly special from the outside but inside we had a warm welcome in a large comfortable lobby. Our room was large with all facilities you could want. The bed was very comfortable anf the ensuite was equally spacious with a large walk in shower, one of the best I've come across. The breakfast is part of the room price and is self service and good. The staff wete friendly and helpful. I would recommend thos hotel.
Poor visit Let’s hope we have a victories this wee
Overpriced, basic room, dirty windows and poor selection of condiments
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff pleasant but there were no options other than to climb steps to reception restaurant and bar and my elderly mother had difficulty. Also I wasn’t advised about the parking . The breakfast was not great either
Not good value for money
Mattress was poor & AC sound was very high
Not grea
Rough and ready
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was well maintained and very comfortable. Only one issue. The noisy air circulation system which had no controls available. Not conducive to a good nights sleep. This was the only reason the hotel didn't get 5 stars all round.
Good but a little issue
It is really comfortable in the room, and smells nice in reception entrance, but being a wheelchair user I had to go through the back and up a slight slope to get into reception. The ramp to then get down is really small so my chair didn’t quite fit, the lifts are also really small. The chair just fitted in and my partner had to leave the bags on top of me so he fitted in too. Apart from that it’s really good.
Great locations with parking available
The property could use a little update ..But the staff at this hotel are amazing so friendly and helpful they made our stay so nice
Great place to stay
Good sized room, very comfortable bed, only bad point was some noise from the water system.
Lovely hotel, great location. Only issue was the parking. Had to park quite abit away
Nottingham
all was good
Great Locations, clean room
Great location, good size room, clean and tidy, looks like it's been refurbished recently. Will be back if we've got gigs at Rescue Rooms. : )
The rooms and services were excellent The only issues were noise overnight and the W Park voucher which we paid for did not work so we had to pay again
Comfortable and central but noisy.
The hotel has a very central location which gives pros and cons. Our room was on the first floor at the front, which meant it was very noisy from trams (the glass shelves noisily shook each time) and late night revellers. The room was also very cold, despite aircon being on to a high temp. It had warmed up by the morning! Maybe a positive for a summer stay. Bed was very nice and comfortable and the room a good size. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially with our car & parking.
Hotel or Homeless Hostel
Disappointing to see that the Hotel is being used as a Social Housing stop gap with numerous youngsters wandering about in PJ's in the lobby throughout the day!
Brilliant Stay
2 night stay to go to the theatre. Central hotel. This hotel was perfect. Large clean room with views over the city. Good breakfast with helpful and very friendly staff. Thank you x
Ballet Night at the Theatre
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Lovely breakfast room. Handy car for park which I pre- booked.
Lots of dining options
Location of the hotel is great, however, no dining options other than breakfast available and room very tired looking and very basic .. ok for a night, but wouldn’t want to stay any longer.. all round very average , tired looking hotel, but pleasant.
Two Night Stay in September 2023
Dad and I booked two rooms for two nights as we were attending a show at the Theatre Royal. Overall the rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is a stones throw away from the theatre. The showers were easy to use (buttons) and the complimentary bottled water, biscuits, tea and coffee was a bice touch. The beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. The staff were very friendly and polite.
The hotel was much better than i expected. It didn’t look great from outside but inside was fine. The room was nice, bar area good & also a nice breakfast.
Close to quaint Nottingham downtown
It was ok. Great location, close to fantastic sights. Nothing fancy but worked great for us. No parking in site but the lot was only 1 block away.
Location, location, location .
I picked this hotel for it's great location as it's ideally situated for city centre, Theatre Royal and for attending graduation at Trent University (all just a stones through away). (In my opinion) the hotel could do with some updating and I would probably rate it as 3* rather than 4*, but it was spotlessly clean (which for me is the most important thing) with very friendly staff. Nice breakfast too which was kept well stocked up. We were able to book a triple room which was a bonus as not all hotels offer a third bed (unless it's a sofa bed). The room was a decent size with a very good supply of tea, coffee etc. The air con wasn't very effective. There is a very small car park but spaces are limited so it's worth booking in advance. All in all a pleasant stay in a great location.
Great location but disappointing overall
Good location and staff were lovely! However, the ‘car park’ needs a more accurate description as those few spaces were terribly awkward to park in and it was hot, noisy and smelly down there. The whole site should be non smoking as the smoke came up through our window from the smokers stood in the car park. The mattress and pillows were not comfortable or plump and the toilet seat was stained yellow and clearly needed replacing. I appreciate you’re paying for the location but I’d find a better hotel next time.
Nice place to stay
Was lovely hotel, great staff, tired in places, needed checking. No shower so hadn’t been checked, shower controls needed fixing, and what looked like a moth eaten part o the carpet. But still a fantastic place to stay, centre of Nottingham but still lovely and quiet, bed nice size and sooooo comfortable. The breakfast, good food, enough of it for a very good price
Basic Hotel, noisy location
Plus point, its very close to the theatre, restaurants & close to central shopping area Negatives, very noisy through the night as close to bars. Rooms are very basic incl bathrooms, unless you book superior rooms. Bed was saggy, not comfy. I have difficulty walking up stairs & so had to use the car park entrance into the hotel - seems to be used as a outside loo by passers by
Poor
Reception staff were very good & very friendly
Room was clean and fresh. Staff very polite.
Carpet in bedrooms need a good clean.
Room was tired looking, toilet seat was very yellowed (although clean) we stayed on a different side of hotel than previous trips and it was very noisy from street noise, we thought windows were open!!
Enjoyed our stay, great hotel & staff.
Large room but bed air conditioning
Pros The room was big and fresh. Breakfast was ok but could be better. Bed was comfortable Cons Air conditioner was making an intimidating noise. I had to turn it off in the night so It was cold. There was no plug next to bed headboard. hair dryer was dirty because of remaining hairs and sticky surface.
As far as best western hotels are concerned this was one of the better ones. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice, the staff were excellent.
Don't bother booking!
We have just returned from having an over stay at your hotel & need to express how dissatisfied we were with the experience. First of all, at check in, we were informed there was no Resturant facilities, something which is clearly stated on your website and the hotel.com site, where we booked. Also the car parking facilities provided by QPark, state on your site it’s £11.50 for 24hours, but we got charged £12.50. Secondly, the best western is Nottingham is classed at a 4 star hotel! You are not a star 4 hotel, 3 star at most. No evening Resturant facilities, and a less than acceptable note on your information card, in the room, for ordering through deliveroo for food. Something we would have expected from a youth hotel, 2 star venue, not a 4star best western plus! The room was nice, clean and specious, not completely without fault. The lamentation at the bottom of the bathroom door was peeling off. The air conditioning was very noisy, so much so, we couldn’t have it on overnight. This made the room extremely cold, there wasn’t any extra blankets in the room either, so consequently I found it very difficult to sleep. Another unwelcome noise, came from outside. you expect noise from a city centre hotel, but this was off the scale! we were on the 4th floor and still could here every word people were shouting. it was like we had the windows open!
Expensive
Hotel ok for city centre 3 star hotel. We were on the top floor and the noise ( presumably from air conditioning units on roof) was terrible. Like trying to sleep on a plane. It went on all night. As we were only staying one night no chance to change rooms but nobody should be booked into that room 603.
Great location for shopping and restaurants, but very loud at night.
Was an ideal hotel to stay for a night lovely fluffy towels and comfy bed
The hotel was pleasant and comfortable
Good hotel
The room is big and the bed is very comfortable. The location is good and the staff is very helpful. I will choose this hotel again if I go to The UK again.
Notts Best Western Hotel is very nice.
All good, no issues. Would be nice to offer me an incentive for completing this survey.
Will not return
We booked onsite parking in advance, got there and parked in their car park, then at reception were told they had over-booked the car park and we would have to move our car to a car park about half a mile away. Room was ok, but no soap in the bathroom hand-wash dispenser - not great given that covid is still doing the rounds. The Crowne Plaza opposite is much better - but unfortunately full when we needed the room.
nice city centre hotel
A nice hotel city centre hotel - very convenient for local attractions.
The only complaint I have is the bathroom, water pressure very low, no way could I have washed my hair, shower only a dribble. Very close to tram stop and Theatre Royal
A nice hotel, very cental and good value for money.
Terrible
Wont go back - Couldn't let the water out the bath due to plug not working. Couldn't sleep as the water for the toilet kept running. With the aircon off there was still a constant hum and before even getting in the bed you could see how warped the mattress was!
Very clean and tidy. Rooms a little outdated and bed not super comfy but ok for one night. Great location to city centre and friendly staff to welcome you on reception.
Overall good
The overall experience was good the rooms are nice and the breakfast is good .However the greeting at reception could of been friendlier more chat anout your stay etc would of been nice and our shower gel was empty in the bathroom . Great for access to the royal concert hall around 200 yds some fantastic bars around to. Overall a good stay .
Comfortable Stay
I had a very pleasant stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and had everything expected to have in a nice hotel. The only thing missing was tea spoons There was a fair bit of noise outside until about four in the morning with people coming out of night clubs and getting taxis but it was a Friday night. Breakfast was buffet style but with plenty of choice.
Efficient and speedy check in, friendly staff in all departments
NA
Nice n helpful staff
Really nice comfortable friendly stay
Happy Visit
Good central location. Breakfast was not the best, could of had a bit more variety on healthy options, staff were lovely.
Ok
Hotel fine, parking an issue
Hotel fine and well located, car parking & directions confusing.
Very good
So clean and a modern hotel
Won’t return
Reception staff at check in not very welcoming, no smiles, stern faced, transactional type of greeting. Felt like I was disturbing them! Toilet was dirty, either the cleaners or the last guests urine still in the bowl! Room was bland and uninspiring overall. Wish I’d gone across the street to the Crowne Plaza!
Great value & location
Great central location, lovely staff & great value breakfast. Would recommend for the reasonable price. But… Could do with plug sockets near the beds, hand wash in the bathroom & could feel a few springs through the bed!
👍
Negative 4-star rating
I wondered how this hotel claimed itself as a 4-star when I saw our double room had no mini-frig and one light-bulb was burnt out. I asked your staff if we could have slippers, to my surprise I was replied that slippers were for superior rooms only. Ha! The worst part was as follows. We booked the room for 2 nights. On day 2 pm, when we returned to our room, we were astonished to see the room had been housekept with all our personal stuff including our food and an unopened beer, my razor, tooth-brushes and tooth-paste were gone. It was later found out that a staff had made a careless mistake by treating our room as a check-out one. Luckily I could salvage my razor and the beer only from the housekeeper. Having such experience, I give you a negative 4-star rating. You have already broken your goodwill.
Lovely friendly staff, the room was clean
A good place to stay.
Lovely room, clean, good space for the family, nice breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
Well situated Hotel in city, friendly staff on reception, I didn't use the bar or restaurant but my colleagues did and said they were both very good
Very convenient to Theatre/Concert Hall
Very friendly and helpful staff. Almost next door to Theatre/Concert Hall. Sunny breakfast room.
Excellent location for Theatre and Concert Hall. Five minute walk to City Centre shopping
Overnight Stay
The location was good but the general standard of the hotel was just ok. The room looked dated and the bed was not great.
This was clean and comfy, ideally situated and when booking I requested a bathtub if possible and was so so pleased to find one in my room! Would stay here again.
Arrived at 1pm expecting to leave our luggage however we were able to get in the room straight away which was great! Freshened up & out to enjoy the city. Lovely big bed, clean & an overall enjoyable stay
Great stay in the heart of the city
Very welcoming and helpful staff who were officiant at their job. Incredibly friendly staff at breakfast who remembered you and the breakfast was cooked well. Beautiful view of the city from our room. Really convenient location in the heart of the city and simple parking. As the car park at the hotel is small they have a deal with a multi-storey carpark a minutes walk away from the hotel that is very safe and secure. Also get it for a reduced rate for staying at the hotel. Highly recommend
Room was noisy and toilet bowl had faeces on it dried on outside we had to wait for our room
The hotel was fine
Having arrived early for a funeral we were a le to check in early, freshen up before heading back out. The check in process was done online so only had to pick a key up, friendly staff on reception and in the bar later on for a nightcap
You get what you pay for
The bed was 2 large single beds together and you couldn’t move without the whole floor hearing the bed springs. The air con sounded like a jet engine. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad and overall probably worth what you pay, just have realistic expectations.
Average.
Average, at best, but no less. Fairly noisy, as expected with a city centre hotel, would likely expect more for the price and more quality also.
Not a 4 star as rated
Deffinately not a 4 star hotel. Needs a good update. Clean hotel but old. Dirty windows and windows didnt seal so got street noise all night. Receptionist was told and came up to fill the gap with stick on fillers. That didn't work but told nothing else could be done. Would not book again.
Perfect location
Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Only had 11 car park spaces so i suggest emailing or phoning asap to secure one. Very close to city centre and everything is within walking distance. My only gripe is that they do not have many plug sockets and they are on the wall by the tv and there are none near the bed.
Nottingham Theatre Stay
Stayed with two friends to visit the theatre, booked a triple bedded room and half expected a double bed + a single but we had 3 x single beds with ample space and a decent sized bathroom. Staff were friendly, on site parking was secure and accessible. Room and parking were excellent value for money and location for visiting the Theatre was excellent - the hotel is less than a 5 minute walk away
It’s very central in a great position beside everything staff are friendly and my room was clean and comfortable only criticism is other guests were noisy walls felt paper thin
Great hotel
Great service no problem checking in very central for Nottingham could not ask for better for the price
Noisy.
The hotel was clean enough but the room was very basic. The bed creaked and the air con sounded like a jet taking off. The club and karaoke bar continued long into the early hours and despite turning our air con off you could hear a constant droning noise throughout the night. Maybe it was neighbouring rooms as the wall are paper thin. The staff that we met during our stay were excellent and so was the breakfast.
Not Returning
did not sleep all night , noise from corridor. place was not 4 star by any stretch. carpet and curtain so old. room was horrid
Staff were lovely. Hotel was perfectly clean. Excellent location. Everything you want from a city centre hotel.
Poor stay
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We were not told that our room would not be serviced throughout our stay until the second day of our visit. We were told that this was a management decision arising out of Covid. We pointed out that we had stayed in hotels in June and July this year where full service of the rooms was provided and that we had paid a rate at this hotel which we considered was based on full service. In view of the decision, the room should have been provided with facilities, toilet rolls, toiletries etc., for the 3 days which it was not. The room was sparingly furnished. The carpets were dirty and marked, the bathroom door was damaged, the room was dull and generally the hotel felt in need of renovation. There was a lot of noise at night. Only breakfast was served and any other meals had to be ordered through Deliveroo. The bar was poorly stocked. Hotel car parking was expensive. On the plus side the hotel is convenient for the city centre and the staff were excellent.
Very good will be coming back again
😀
Clean, tidy, efficient. Good location.
Average
i was a little disappointed with my room, it felt tired, worn, in need of some tlc, bed were made and could see dips on both sides, even with the bed made, it was very visual, as mattresses were old, relatively comfy but old, i just expected that little bit more. Staff lovely, welcoming, just the room was a little shoddy for the price, x
Grubby
Bog standard big chain corporate blandness, breakfast designed by an accountant rather than a chef, so as expected really , but this best western 'plus' was pretty grubby, with expensive off site parking, noisy ineffective air con and virtually no water pressure on the 6th floor.
Good city centre hotel, very convenient, parking available nearby, and excellent breakfast. Like most city centre hotels, it can be a bit noisy at night. Great staff.
