Disappointing
Terrible experience. Broken toilet seat. No shampoo. Bathroom was smelling very bad. Wifi did not connect throughout the trip. Staff not helpful.
The distance walking to sites in Salzburg was a 2km lovely walk. We enjoyed the walk and were happy with the location. Great place to stay and do tourist activities.
Such a convenient and nice place to stay.
Hotel was fine and as usual in Best Western Hotels, rooms were clean and adequate. There was a slight smell coming from the toilet particularly later in the evening but all in all facilities were good and breakfast was fantastic.
The hotel smelled like smoke.
I don't know if management need to make sure all amenities are there such as soap is empty
I liked the reception staff, very helpful. Didn't like the dirtyness of the room.
The staff was fantastic. The hotel was located right on the stops for two bus routes, one to the train station and the other to the historic district, downtown.
Dirty rug, uncomfortable beds, uncomfortable shower
Good
Friendly staffs especially those ladies at the reception. Everything ok, just the bathroom design is a bit weird. There has no main door of the bathroom. The layout is bath on the left while toilet is on the right hand side, middle is the sink, like an U shape When take the shower, has to open the toilet door to block the view from the room, however, the door is not wide enough to block it all, it’s so awkward.
This hotel is different.
This Hotel is the 1st hotel in the world i have stayed at that didn't have a toaster at breakfast and when asked we were told we supply bread only... also the bed was like a plank very hard and if you dont have enough towels check the wardrobe because that is where they are kept supposedly...
Was OK
Staffs are not so nice and not helpful. Shower curtain smells so bad, drain is clogged up with stuffs and hairs, floods when taking shower. Room doesn’t have enough lights and outlets.
Visited Salzburg for the first time, my brother has been there many times though. Michaela, Nina, and Veronica were absolutely wonderful to us, the personal at the breakfast buffet were also wonderful. It is a nice, clean, and quiet place.
Beautiful clean hotel! Helpful front desk. Nice breakfast.
Great stay. The front reception was helpful, friendly and informative. We arrived very early and were able to store our bags and complete check in. Amazing breakfast, really comfortable beds and a great shower. Would definitely recommend to our friends and family and hope to stay here again one day.
Nice place to stay
Room was neat and tidy. Staff was very helpful. The hotel had all the amenities we needed. Dining nearby, grocery right across the street. Train station close. Would stay here again.
The property was centrally located and good value for money. Veronica the receptionist was like a breath of fresh air and went out of her way to make us feel welcome.
Comfortable hotel
Staff very helpful and friendly. It's a little out of the way but not all that far from everything and there are some good restaurants nearby. Very comfortable place to stay and I would recommend it to anybody.
Good service but far from the center
Hotel is not attractive from outside. Room is clean but amenities are not available. Room did not have tea/coffee facilities. When requested, this was not brought to the room and we had to get the kettle, cups, etc from the reception. Wi-Fi connectivity is very poor, almost no connection. Price is very expensive for the quality of property and service. The hotel is quite far from city centre as well.
This is a modern hotel with large room, I stayed here for 5 nights, but they only cleaned the room after the first night. I understand they don’t need to clean the rooms everyday but I thought they would have cleaned more than once, the bin was full, I left one towel on the floor but as no one visited they didn’t change it. There is a mini fridge, safe, there was also a kettle with one sachet of coffee, but this was not replenished, even on the day they did visit to clean the room. The shower has frosted glass facing the bed but transparent glass as you enter the room, you can half solve this by fully opening the toilet door but this still leaves a gap. This wasnt an issue for me but it might be for other travellers who wants more privacy. The breakfast was excellent, lot of choices. Bread, meat, pastries, scrambled eggs, frankfurters, bacon, cereal, cakes, whole fruit, cut fruit, yogurt. There is a supermarket in the mall opposite the hotel and a lovely greek restaurant, Mcdonalds and more supermarkets 5 minutes walk. You can walk into town in 20minutes or you can take the bus, unless there is a strike. On one of the days there was a train strike, I thought this only affected trains but there were no buses either so I had to walk. The hotel is on a main road but the noise wasnt an issue, just the occasional car playing music loudly.
Spacious room in a clean hotel which was pretty perfect for our young family. Friendly and helpful staff and decent breakfast buffet.
Family Holiday
Its a horrible hotel. The rooms are large but the AC does not work well, have to keep the windows open at night, hence sirens and traffic noise. No provisions of soap, etc. We were given a family room, also useable for handicapped people. The toilet bowl was so close to the sink I wonder how many handicapped people hurt them selves twisting to sit on the toilet bowl. The breakfast spread is good. I will not stay there again and it is a pity that Hotel.Com lists such hotels
convenient location
The hotel itself is fine, the location somewhat inconvenient. We left our car during the stay in the hotel's underground garage and took public transportation (bus #4 ) directly into old town. The area around the hotel has nothing to offer a traveler.
The receptionists were never available. The room was not cleaned very well the second day.
Transport links were great
Propre, près de la vieille ville
Hotel was clean and room was nicely done. The staff were friendly and the two gentlemen receptionist were knowledgeable about the area and were good at giving you directions. One lady receptionist didn’t know at all direction to Mirabell Platz which is now I learned is a common meeting area for the tours. Perhaps she was a new staff? At least she knew how to call a taxi for me. I particularly as well liked the hotel’s good selection of breakfast. There were two good restaurants nearby that I liked.
He
Hotel Location is good. Packing was not easy.
Needs renovation. Internet and phone did not work. The desk staff were very nice and very helpful but the hotel needs an update.
No aircondition, it is a heater. So it can only make heat. Not aircondition. There Would not return parking fee. We left 1 night Before check out. A Really bad hotel. Dont belive what the reviews a Saying we did, and we paid the price for it
On the road again.
Very clean, comfortable hotel. Parked our car and bussed into City Center. Delicious Greek food across the street.
Good hotel and reception is pro
Good hotel for the price. staff are very professionnal We forget an object in the room and the hotel don’t find it so care and don’t let your personal object in the room
Hard to find. Underground parking quite difficult,. Otherwise a nice hotel.
It was a great...
Functional, no-frills hotel. Reasonably close to City centre and accessible on regular public transport from airport and town
It was average nothing great but nothing bad. Would check out other hotels first before staying here again
Nice place, a bit outa of the way, but very nice stay
Close to bus stop. Bed was very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. A little difficult to find if arriving by car.
Spacious room easy access to transport factory out opposite and supermarket very handy
An okay stay 30 minutes walk from the centre
The room itself was pretty large, but it was a little dated and dusty around the edges of the room. The safe was not big enough to fit my laptop. I was provided with an ironing board, but no iron. The curtain had lost a number of hooks, letting quite a lot of light into the room. The shower cubicle had a somewhat strange smell akin to wild garlic blossoms. There are a number of bus stops just outside and reception will happily call a taxi, but if you feel like the walk it is around 25-30 minutes to get into the city centre.
Great spot, a bus ride from the city Centre (buy the 6 euro 24 pass). I loved my room, only weird thing was no remote for the TV. Great value for the money.
I booked 3 rooms. We received different floors on all. I was told they were the last 3 rooms but discovered later this wasntvtrue. The room 415 had a puddle of dog urine, wet and stunk. The air conditioning did not cool any of the rooms. None of the rooms were very clean.
Parking was a challenge and access was a challenge but doable
Hotel was in an ok location. Room was old and tired, pillows were very uncomfortable and overall the cleaning was poor. The sauna/steam room were a positive and the included breakfast was excellent. Would suggest looking at other hotels and utilising this if there are no better alternatives.
An average hotel with that sounds better than is.
The check in was late, the location fairly inconvenient and amenities were average.
Most unpleasant experience.
Reception area was understaffed. Breakfast so-so. I asked and paid for a room with 2 beds. My bed, which I shared with my wife, was oddly designed as 1 single bed comprised of 2 twin beds. The second bed was a flimsy foldable and very uncomfortable bed for my son. The pillows were also flat and not cushy. What’s worse is that upon check out at 12 noon, we were charged an extra €10 per hour since check out was strictly at 11am. (The hotel was empty at that time with no guests checking in.) Receptionist claimed he called our room but that was not the case. I guess this is consistent with not trusting their customers. You pay immediately for any item ordered and consumed. And I use an Amex Platinum card which has no credit limit. Considering what I paid for, no way I will ever return nor recommend this hotel - “Worst” Western Plus Amedia Art Hotel.
Decent
Our room was mostly great. Odd location, mall next door. Had to pay to park and for breakfast ☹. Missing Shower door made for awkward shower.
Book elsewhere, RUDE staff and NOT hygienic at all
One of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed in. Staff are initially friendly when you check in but by the time issues arise they are just rude. The main manager (blonde with black glasses) has no customer service skills at all. I was explaining the issues with our room and she was greeting others and talking to her other staff while I was talking which is very disrespectful. Issues were, we arrive at 10am to be told the room is not ready and check in was 3pm which is fine. We left our luggage and went into town. On our return we went into a room that had no body/hair wash and no tea bags that I had to go down to get them! The room itself is very dull and not clean at all. The room was filty with hair and dust everywhere especially the corners (See pics) no effort was done to clean it even though "please clean my room" sign was up everyday and staff was informed. If you want a nice place to stay, DO NOT choose this Best Western Plus! No attempt was made to make us feel like wanted guests. A real disappointment. Use your hard earned money somewhere else. No doubt there will be a reply from the hotel as they give to everyone else as I have seen on other reviews. Doubt they will be there in the next few years if they continue with this attitute and service. A hotel that I would recommend is the IMLAUER Hotel which has a Sky Bar and Restaurant which is brilliant.
Well positioned for local buses to take you into the centre
The worst hotel experience
We arrived at the property as were lied to by a lady that I had booked a different hotel which is not true, then I was sent to a different hotel (sister hotel) very dirty and in very bad area, I tried to get in touch with them and they ignored my calls, finally they said they were overbooked and couldn’t do anything for me. Horrible experience
Hotel was hard to find, breakfast was expensive. Other than that, good.
Good times
The experience was good. It was a little far from down town Salzburg. The staff at the front desk were very friendly, knowledgeable and help full.
Quick break in Salzburg
This hotel is a little bit away from the centre and where things seem to be happening. The hotel itself is very well equipped, rooms are clean and modern. All the staff are extremely helpful and be friendly. If you don’t mind a bit of walking and some quiet this hotel is somewhere to consider staying
Excellent service
Excellent hotel right near everything. The staff was very helpful and the room was great.
I didn't like that there were no washers and dryers at the hotel. The website said "laundry available" but it should be more specific as what it really means is that you can either have the hotel staff send your laundry out, or take it to a laundrymat yourself.
The bathroom had a terible smell. We have report to the hotel manager to clean the bath room or changing our room, but they DID NOT DO ANYTHING, they did not clean the bath room, they did not even make up the room.
very late check in of 3pm but the hotel room is okay and clean. good for price
Glad I chose this hotel
I decided to stay at the Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg in spite of some bad reviews it had on trip advisor. I am glad I did, my stay my very pleasant, room was spacious and although is in an road intersection I could not hear the street noise (maybe because I had the last floor). Staff was professional, breakfast was decent. Shopping centre across the street. All in all a superb stay
Noisy Location
Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I loved that there was a parking garage below the building, but the vehicle we drove was too high to fit in it, so parking was a bit tough to find. The area the build is in was very busy and loud. It was right at the intersection of many roads. There is a gas station next door and a couple places to eat within walking distance. The WiFi was ok, but cut out a couple of times. I wish this hotel was in a different location because it’s really nice inside and the people were really nice. Also I wasn’t expecting the wall of the shower to be partially see-through when wet. 3 of us shared the room so that was very awkward.
Salzburgh a great place to visit
Found the hotel be very clean with very friendly and helpful staff. Room and amenities spot on. A little out of the way but when informed about the public transport, more than happy to get about. Very reliable
The hotel was a one of good hotel in Salzburg
The hotel was a one of good hotel in Salzburg. The location was ok. It was only 10-15 mins by bus from Salzburg Hub. The staff was ok . Good wifi. Good suana in the 4 floor. There were no shops or restaurant nearby the hotel. You might need to prepare food if you do not want to take a public transport to go further down the town. We ordered for a queen bed but was given 2 joint single bed instead. The bed always moved and got separated and it was very not comfortable when I was sleeping with my partner. Anyway, this room is worth for money.
Location is not in strategic place, will need a taxi/bus to the center/oldtown area. Reception staffs not helpful and friendly when we asked for information about public transport (bus), it is ok if you don't know the information if only the lady answered it with nicely, not with an answer: ' i don't know, i'm not an info center", when we asked estimate cost of bus ticket. And it was in the morning where no other people queing for services. I think that kind of answer is a bit rude.
Comfortable rooms, helpful staff, & great service
This property isn't very close to the main attractions if you want to stay close to the old town. However there is a bus that stops right outside this hotel which makes is convenient to travel to the city's attraction points. I must mention that the girl at the reception was extremely helpful in giving us tips on how to go about and the things to do etc. We were really impressed with her. The rooms were rather spacious and comfortable, however, I didn't quite like how the bathrooms were. They were clean no doubt, but they were way too modern and kind of in the middle of the room! The shower is quite small. But this hotel has a steam and sauna and we were glad we could use it.
Good location hotel but poor service
The hotel in itself was not bad - good location and clean comfortable room and we were attracted by the "stay for two nights and 3rd night free" offer. But we were somewhat disappointed that we were given rooms not as promised, i.e. it was supposed to be 35 sqm with patio/balcony. However, the room was much smaller (more like 20 sqm) and there were no balcony or patio (Hotels.com should look into this as this was written in our reservation). The service was also found wanting and staff were not friendly or helpful. After the first day, the chambermaid did not empty the waste bin in the bathroom and also did not replace coffee or tea bags. When we asked the reception staff for more coffee and tea bags, instead of offering an apology, she appeared to have doubts that we were telling her the truth. We also asked for fresh milk because there were no milk or cream capsules in the room. She said that the milk was chargeable at 2 Euro. When we said that hotels usually provided milk capsules in rooms, she gave the excuse that they do not provide milk capsules during summer. I thought that this was really ridiculous! Fortunately, she finally agreed to provide the fresh milk without charge! Otherwise, we would have called for the manager. The hotel has potential to be a good one, just need some areas for improvement.
Great value, location, and very helpful staff
Very clean and modern. Daily house keeping. Super helpful front desk people. They knew the city and how to navigate the buses and where everything was. They also helped us with a day trip out of the city. Spoke perfect English! Would absolutely recommend this hotel!
Great gem, great service
Great hotel and the condition, only reason for 4 stars is due to little away from the town but is on the 2 major buslines (100 meters) and in 10 min into town.front desk service was outstanding and room sizes were larger than typical European hotel room- steam and sauna room is good free amenity. The Greek restaurant across the street is very good but otherwise not lots of options for dinner!
Great short break
I stayed four nights with my daughter. We had two breakfasts which initially seemed a tad expensive at 15€ but they gave vouchers for 2€ off each then you start to consider around 2-3€ for a coffee most places & it's not a bad price. Choice was good with plenty of bread rolls, cold meats, bacon, eggs, fruits, yogurts, cereals etc. We walked to and from the centre of Saltzburg but there were buses available and at a very reasonable price. The sauna & steam room seemed to be virtually for our own personal use as I only saw one other person in there.
Nice stay in Salzburg!!
We have stayed at the hotel for two nights. It was really relaxing, comfortable and calm. These all are the things that I expect from a hotel after a long day of walk or a city tour. The people at the reception was friendly and helpful. The size of the room was fairly big. The room itself was totally clean. In addition, the location of the hotel is quite convenient to reach to city centre by walking ca. 20 mins. I really recommend this hotel to people who are interested in going to Salzburg.
Do not leave the room
We went out sight seeing and came back to find our room door had been left unlocked by staff. It turned out to be that the card reader was faulty. My wife had her purse stolen and the hotel manager was not too fazed. she called the police but what it is that going to achieve. A simple concern from her was all that was needed. Anyhow I'm not going back and I hope people reading this will stay away also.
Not bad at all
The staff was very nice and professional, the cleaning was not bad either. I wasn't so pleased with the room size and the bed, there where two beds made as one and the room was a bit small compared with other rooms. All that can also be my fault for not looking better at first. All in all it was a great stay and I would recommend it but all without a car, it is cheaper.
good hotel
Stayed for 3 nights guys at the reception were great. Had big room with fast wifi internet connection. Bed was ok. Small fridge. On minus side 1. No english TV channels. 2. No flip flops, toothbrashe etc 3. All 4 pillows were so flat. 4. No dark blinds curtains. 5. Car noise from the near by street.
Area fine but a bit out of town and quite industrial on a main road. No restaurants nearby but supermarkets. However good bus links to the centre right outside the hotel and didn't take long at all to get into town. V convenient
Good position, very clean, good price
Very good price and position, very clean, the rooms are large and with modern furniture. There are an underground parking and also in front of hotel. Ahead of hotel is a very good greek restaurant.
distance from the city and the room itself
The hotel has a nice Sauna facility which I enjoyed using. The room was big and comfortable but when I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet, as there was no separate light switch for the toilet and the toilet switch turned the shower light as well, the room got suddenly too bright! If you are staying in a room with someone else it is not ideal to go to the toilet at night...
Great hotel for seasoned travelers
I would stay here again on my next visit to Salzburg, and bring cloths to use the sauna next time. This hotel is located in the 'ugly' part of town, and I did not like the decor theme (a matter of taste); however, it was well priced and gets an A for livability during a longer trip to the city, particularly if you consider using public transportation to be part of the experience. If you will only be in town for a couple of days and want to function strictly as a tourist, consider getting a more expensive room in the Old Town. If you are here on a longer stay and like to see/be a part of the local life, this hotel is a gem of a find. The desk staff were very nice and accommodating. Our room was ENORMOUS by European standards.
Not bad at all
4 star hotel
Christmas in Salzburg
The hotel is in a great location, about 10-15 minutes from Old Towne. There are bus stops just outside the hotel, which was convenient, since we didn't have a car. We also took the train in from Vienna and the bus stop was right outside our hotel. The hotel service was excellent, everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Modern decor
Staff were lovely, the hotel very clean & modern,.. But I couldn't get internet.. The kettle inside was filthy,& it was a 20 minute walk to the old town.. Next time I'll book closer..
Reasonable walk from Salzburg CBD. Clean, tidy
We stayed for 3 nights. There is a bus to Salzburg CBD, about 2 kms, but you can walk. The hotel is clean, the rooms are reasonable size and clean. We didn't take the breakfast because we thought it was too expensive.
PHONES DIDN'T WORK NO COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST HOUSEKEEPING COULD BE IMPROVED WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO TOWN CENTER HELPFUL FRONT DESK
Lovely hotel
Very spacious, well decorated and clean room. Brilliant shower, comfy bed, also a steam room and sauna which was fantastic with a variety of flavours... Lovely views out of window and from the balcony! Staff very friendly and helpful, also spoke brilliant English.
Clean, modern rooms
The rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. The neighbourhood is safe but it is not in the older part of the city and there is really nothing nearby except a McDonald's. overall, the staff was in general, not too friendly
The Staff was absolutely Fantastic. We had a short stay, but an absolutely wonderful experience. The Staff was courteous, friendly and extremely helpful.
Nice hotel with 15 minutes walk to centre
Hotel is great and staff is very friendly but the typical carpet smell in hotels. I would recommend a car to go downtown because the walk back can be a bit much after spending the day walking around or take the bus.
A wonderful stay in Salzburg
The hotel was located in on a quiet street that was still near transportation and eating areas. There are restaurants with local cruisine and other foods all near by. The staff was more than willing to help with tours, directions and other needs.
NICE TOWN HOTEL
CONVENIENT LOCATION NEAR THE CENTRE OF THE TOWN, EASY TO ATTEND THE OPERAS ETC, TERRIBLE ACCESS TO THE PARKING (IMPOSSIBLE FOR IN AMERICA BUILT CARS!). VERY SMALL SPA; EXCELLENT MANAGEMENT i DIDN'T GET A BILL BECAUSE I RESERVED THRU EXPEDIA. I NEED A BILL FOR THE VAT RETURN. I HOPE EXPEDIA IS SENDING A BILL BY RETURN OF THIS MESSAGE.
Great location and staff.....
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was super helpful, friendly, and definitely accommodating. The location was great close to the bus stops to get where you needed to go and a convenient store right across the street. The neighborhood is okay, we always took a cab home from dinner it only ran about 6 euros we were so close to everything. There is a frig they for the mini bar and we put things in it. The deco is pretty new.
Travel
Excellent hotel... and the staffs are very helpful that they allow me to leave my luggage in hotel few days for free. The environment is very Good.
Good value 4* hotel in Salzburg
Our second stay in this hotel was just as good as the first. Our room was spacious & comfortable & very clean. Only criticism is that rooms are quite dark as windows are small. It takes us about 20 minutes to walk into the city centre but bus stop is right outside hotel if you don't want to walk. Also the no.2 bus from the airport goes to the hotel. Very cheap at €2.50 each.
Good value.
For those arriving by car, finding it is a big problem. The hotel entrance is not on the stated street address and signage is less than helpful. We drove past it several times without realising it was there. Even the directions of a polizei didn'nt help. However, when we did finally figure it out our arival went smoothly. The decor is a shiny modernistic style, which is ok. As an asthma sufferer I faced two big problems: 1) the reception area had a vase of lillies, which gave off an over-powering scent, which sent me into paroxysms of coughing (and my wife into an attack of hay fever). For most people this is probably not an issue, bur since allergic airways disorders are on the rise throughout the western world, management should give some thought to it. There was a similar problem with the room. Either chemical based air freshener or fabric softener had been used. Again not a problem for many, but really - is it really necessary? We had to sleep with the window wide open. Unfortunately we were woken frequenlty by the sirens of emergency vehicles and other road noises. As I have already observed, these inconveniences will not affect many people, and most will find this a decent place to stay at a reasonable price. Travel to the downtown area takes about 10 mins by the number 4 bus, which seems to come quite frequently. It's 'free' if you buy the Salzburg Card for 25 euros. This is one heck of a deal and gets you admission to all sorts of things.
Great hotel, if a little out of the way.
Our stay at this hotel was excellent. Large rooms, great comfortable bed, very clean. The only thing was the location is a little out of the way. Which was fine for us as we like a walk, its about 15 minutes from town center, however there are also several buses that run past regularly that are a quick ride into town.
best rooms and best staff ever
the hotel is located 20 minutes away from downtown by bus (the bus station is at the hotel door step) you can take the bus directly from the hotel to: Down town, airport/ Outlet, main station. The rooms a re very spacious but lack light and bath tub. The Staff is extremely polite, educated and helpful. Breakfast is however not very rich. The decoration and atmosphere are very warm and welcoming
Nice enough hotel, no wifi working
The hotel itself was all right, but the promised free wifi was non-existent. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were nice, but couldn't connect to the internet at all.
Hotel in City
Supposed free wifi was broken throughout the hotel. Staff were very aloof about giving info on this and not apologetic. Supposed upgraded room small with badly positioned TV.
Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg | Hotel in Salzburg | Travala.com
Okay medium priced hotel. Nice sauna. Some employees nice and helpful, others oddly rude.
