Clean and very nice!

Above and beyond attention to details, welcome lunch and advice from hosts Steve and Liz made our short stay a great experience. Ernest Kemp steam boat trip across Lake Taupo to Māori carvings a valued trip.

Quick overnight stay

Very pleasant surroundings, with great view. We brought our own “adult beverages”, but noticed it would have been nice if the prices of the wines optional to purchase had prices on them. Also we don’t do continental breakfast, my other half is a bacon and eggs man, so it would have been nice if that was an option at either a reduced rate or substitute a bottle of wine ;-) The cheese , crackers and fruit was nice as we usually bring our own, but had expected those after reading prior reviews. Had to call for directions as GPS said to turn left on a road that was just before the correct entrance. Liz was very helpful in steering us in the correct direction. Anything anyone may have wanted or forgotten was available, quite impressed by all the wee details. Even had milk in the fridge for my tea. If you do care for continental breakfast, it was between 07:30 -10:00. I routinely wake about 05:00 am, so hard not to make too much noise when other guests are sleeping. We really enjoyed our sty here. It was very informal and a very unique property. Very friendly, and breakfast was pleasant. complementary charcuterie board was a really nice touch. Great location overlooking the lake from an outside balcony. Lots to see, float planes taking off, parachute planes and free fallers at a distance, boat trips etc can be seen going along the lake. Not too far from town though absolutely need a vehicle. Highly recommended

It was a lovely stay friendly host, very clean, great location,.would highly recommend.

The property is lovely, well appointed, with great views of the lake and gardens. We really enjoyed having wine and the charcuterie board on the balcony. Great way to start our stay. Steve was a super host and we were disappointed not to meet Liz. So many lovely extra touches, they really thought about every detail.

A really beautiful property, with lots of charm and stunning views from the rooms over Lake Taupo. Couldn't fault anything about this place, although the breakfast that a lot of people mention we weren't impressed by (basically toast, croissant and yoghurt; no eggs or anything cooked). Lovely place for a getaway and easy (10 mins drive) into Taupo.

We stayed at Steve and Liz's beautiful B & B for 7 nights while in Taupo for Ironman 70.3 World Championships. We loved the homey atmosphere and Liz and Steve could not have been more welcoming, gracious and helpful. From providing a secure place to store my bike to the welcome charcuterie plate to yummy breakfasts every morning to providing fresh towels and and an immaculate room daily, we really felt like Belle Vue was our home away from home. And the view of the lake from the balcony! Our hosts even made signs for the racers to wish them luck and welcome them back from the race and showed up on the sidelines to cheer us on! Can't recommend this home highly enough :-)

Belle vue Boutique Lodge is a cute and cosy lodge, with stunning lake views. Liz and Steve are fantastic hosts who have thought of everything! We only stayed one night due to itinerary restrictions, but will definitely be coming back when we are next visiting. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Incredible customer service and beautiful views

Beware - Do not book this place

Beware of booking this property. Not friendly people. A couple run this place and we were running late for check in due to our flight that landed in Auckland later and some of our activities needed to be delayed because of that. We called them in the afternoon asking if it’s okay to come in later due to our delayed flight and activities and the lady said that’s fine, you can come in later in the night. The guy who runs this place later texts us in the evening saying - we cannot honor your reservation, don’t come. This was such last minute for us that we had difficulty finding reservation elsewhere. I would definitely recommend you never to book this place as the people who manage it are not professional, do not honor their words

The owners were so accommodating and the property is spectacular! We were greeted with a complimentary cheese board and enjoyed a bottle of wine on our private balcony that over looked the bay. Our room was clean, quiet, and full of character. Breakfast in the morning was perfect! We loved our experience, partially because of how knowledgeable and kind the owners were. The property is only a 5 min drive into town. I would highly recommend this stay to any couple that wants some serenity and character to their stay.

Lovely property with amazing views

A lovely property with amazing views. Great to chill on the balcony with views of the lake. Liz was a great host and very helpful. 10 min walk to a great place to eat called the Bay Bar and Brasserie.

A wonderful boutique hotel - Liz and Steve are consummate professionals , attending to all of the small details efficiently and discreetly. The hotel facilities and gardens are outstanding. Breakfasts were lovely and the special dining provided by Liz was outstanding - thank you so much for making Sue’s special birthday so memorable.

Wow! What a beautiful place to stay. Steve and Liz are fantastic hosts. Their home has so much charm and character, we knew we were in the right place as we walked through the front door. So much thought was put into this boutique and it shows. Breakfast was delicious, fresh juice, pressed coffee, fruits and the decor with beautiful views of the lake from our breakfast table. The bedroom and bathroom were a step back in time, done to perfection. My head hit the pillows and I was out like a light, peace and quiet. My wife and I went just down the street to the local pub called The Bay. What a compliment to our stay. I wish we could have stayed couple more days. Thanks again Liz.

Very nice place to stay , quiet with good parking, comfy room with fantastic views. We dined in on one night and the 4 course meal was excellent, breakfasts were also provided which were very healthy. Liz & Steve are great hosts. Highly recommend this property

We appreciated the high quality accommodation, the personal touches and very friendly hosts. The view was amazing and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a truly boutique experience.

A quiet relaxing place to stay.

The accommodation is superb, in a quiet residential area, yet only an easy 10 minute walk to the nearest shop and restaurant. Everything about the lodge oozes quality, from the decor to the sumptuous bedroom. Liz, the owner is lovely, and was very helpful. Our room (3) has a fantastic view of the lake with a great veranda. Breakfast was delicious, granola, fresh fruits and yoghurt in individual pots. Followed by toast, croissants, orange juice and coffee. In our room was a welcome platter, with 3 different cheese, cooked meat, hummus, various pickle, grapes and crackers. In addition there was a fruit and nut mixture, chocolate bars and water.

In a lovely quiet area with beautiful lake view.

Belle Vue was a welcome surprise in the middle of a very busy trip. A true enchanting B&B, I regret not allowing more time there. If I ever make it to Taupo again, I would absolutely stay here and will be sending all my friends, without hesitation. The view was gorgeous, the service and amenities were extremely thoughtful. It felt like the perfect combination of staying at a luxury boutique hotel and a friend’s welcoming home. It’s been a long time since I was as enamored or excited about a property.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Liz and Steve were so hospitable. You will love it here. Grounds are gorgeous. Cannot wait to return someday.

Belle Vue was a comfortable stay for our night in the Taupo area! Steve and Liz made us feel welcome and we would recommend to anyone searching for a quiet, well appointed B&B experience.

Extremely friendly thoughtful hosts. Wonderful welcome after a long drive....provided a plate with cheese, salami, crackers, fruit upon arrival. What a wonderful surprise. Room extremely comfortable, large bathroom. It was a pleasure staying there. Thank you, Liz and Steve.

Our accommodation was excellent. The room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable. The owners had thought of everything we might need. The gardens were well maintained and we had a wonderful View of Lake Taupo from our room. Would definitely recommend.

WOW! A glorious two story old Villa. The ambience is amazing. The attention to detail is evident everywhere. Quiet and one of the loveliest, cleanest places we have stayed. Majestic views across Lake Taupō and greeted with a magnificent sunrise.

The hotel run by Liz and Steve is a very special jewel in Lake Taupo. Located in beautiful Acacia Bay, it is a five minute drive to the town. The home cooked meals are exceptional. We chose the hotel to get married and Liz and Steve along with Belinda de Lautour (celebrant) and Abby Dance (photographer) made our day absolutely perfect in every way. We can’t thank Liz and Steve enough and we wish them continued success after the lockdown is lifted.

Beautiful quiet spot

Really lovely and quiet place with amazing view of lake Taupo and delicious breakfast. We only stayed for one night (to split up a long drive from Coromandel to Wellington) but would definitely recommend for longer.

One of the best B & Bs we have ever stayed in! Every detail taken care of by our fabulous hosts, Liz & Steve. The special Christmas touches were so festive & perfect without being ostentatious. We were so impressed with our 2 night stay & definitely had trouble leaving!
