We were greeted by name by Cathy and shown our room, which was just as pictured. Breakfasts were lovely and picture perfect, thank you Martin. The Inn is easily walkable to the downtown harbor area and Beacon Hill Park. Our departure ferry was leaving early before breakfast, Cathy made sure we had coffee and snacks available in our room. Perfect!

Interesting reading material about Carr. 10 minute walk to waterfront, dining and shops. Service could not have been better. Our hostess was friendly, accommodating, helpful, just great.

The Beaconsfield Inn is an amazing place to stay. The 1905 structure has original charm. The shared spaces are unique and interesting and they take you back in time. Our room was beautiful and spotless. Our breakfast was amazing just as is the owner of the inn. She is friendly, and very accommodating. We would definately return, as well as recommend it to others. My stay at the Beaconsfield Inn was lovely. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and quiet. The chef was able to accommodate my food requirements (celiac and soy allergy) and I enjoyed delicious breakfasts. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Can’t recommend the place enough!

This is a lovely place to stay and we definitely recommend it! So much more charm in this historic building than a standard hotel. Cathy was very courteous and thoughtful. Easy checkin and out, good communication. The neighborhood is very pleasant and relaxing with a park nearby. We had the Duchess room which was a bit older in terms of wear but spacious. Best of all we saw a peacock greeting us at our tasty breakfast!

I really liked Victorian like building structures and internal decorations! For a moment, Cathy, the host made me feel was in Japan by the way she treated me…very polite and the way she bowed won me over!

An old Victorian style home. Spacious room, with comfy bed. Bathroom was very adequate but not great. Staff were brilliant. Breakfasts were Michelin worthy. Restaurants, downtown tourist sites within easy walking. Easy and free parking at the properties a bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautifully maintained historic building, staff went above and beyond for accommodations. Breakfasts provided were decadent and delicious. Inn was very clean and even provided complimentary snacks and wine. Lovely library with a relaxing ambiance.

Beautiful heritage house with exceptional staff. Its very walkable, only about 10 min away from all the action, and we loved the aesthetics of the house. Our only complaint was the “penthouse” we got had a skylight and window that was pointed forward an outdoor light so it was very bright all night long. A curtain for the window would have made a big difference (we covered it with a bathrobe and that worked)

What a beautiful stay! A lovely architectural stay with plenty of historical delight within. The ambience of our room helped set up our days of exploration in Victoria. Jenny and Cathy were both wonderful hosts who were very kind and generous. The breakfasts were also amazing— many thanks to the chef. Highly recommend for those who love the character and comforts of a bed and breakfast.

What a treasure we found in Victoria- a classic Edwardian mansion, 2 blocks from Beacon Hill Park, 15 min walk from downtown. Beautiful, well maintained, large rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious and plated and served well. The best part? The staff- kind, generous and full of hospitality and charm. We cannot wait to return.

Amazing experience in a century-old mansion!

I love Beaconsfield Inn! The room is so spacious and sparkling clean despite the age of the property. The property itself is very cozy and elegant, full of great paintings. The service is amazing. Prompt response by email before our arrival. The ladies in the house were very welcoming. The breakfast, omg, the best home-made breakfast ever!! I can keep on and on to talk about my stay. It is a highlight of my trip in Victoria!!

Last minute delight!

This B&B was a last minute booking and it was a wonderful surprise. When you book here realize that this house is in an oldee English style which involves some of the quirks that go with that. Our room was the 'Parlour' which was opposite the entrance. Despite this we didnt hear anything from the entrance or lobby during our stay, as well as nothing from the floor above. The room style was lovely with beautiful drawers, a huge bed and chairs to sit in infront of the fireplace. There is even a glass case/table with older ladies hairbrushers and some other items. When I saw breakfast was included I assumed it would be typical bagels and fruit etc. laid out. When we checked in we were given a choice of 3 times to attend breakfast, and were told it would be what the chef wanted to prepare. To our delight the breakfast had 2 courses and both were absolutely delicious! The person who seated and served us was also attentive and welcoming. The chef even created an egg-free version of their intended breakfast for myself on just an evenings notice. The neighbourhood is quiet and pleasant and the location is very close to the downtown area. It would be very easy to walk or bike to some of the shops and restaurants. My mum and I would definitely recommend staying here for your trip to the City

Best Victoria bed and breakfast

We celebrated our anniversary and our experience here could not have been better! The staff was wonderful and the service was excellent.

I stayed here with my hubby for my birthday weekend, and it was a lovely stay. The inn has many beautiful antiques throughout and is spotlessly clean.The breakfast was delicious and the library/lounge had free cookies and pastries available for guests along with glasses of red wine. Jenny, the innkeeper, was wonderful and kindly brought me a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries to enjoy on my special day! Thank you so much for making our visit so memorable!

Lovely B&B in a tranquil neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle. 10 minute walk to coffee shops/restaurants. The place was beautifully kept and spotless. Rooms very comfortable, and service was impeccable. Would definitely stay here again.

It was all so wonderful I scarce know where to begin! We arrived in the afternoon at a stately premises and were ushered in by Jenny, a most welcoming hostess. This is a Victorian era home, early 1900’s, updated and restored to all its former glory. Dark paneling, actual fireplaces, creaky floors, high ceilings all setting the mood. The library was special, containing perhaps 500 books and artifacts of a bygone era. We stayed in a suite having had the choice of two, both magnificent. In the morning a catered breakfast is served in a sun filled nook and that too was splendid. Victoria’s primary attractions are within walking distance of The Beaconsfield and we eagerly looked forward to returning to the residence in the evenings to slip back into the feel of a golden age. The Beaconsfield is highly recommended!

The suite my wife and I stayed for 4 nights in needed to be renovated or badly in need of some major repairs. The carpet definitely needs to be replaced as it caused all kinds of problems including dust and smell. The doors and windows don't shut properly, either. The hostess', Jenny and Su-Bin, worked hard, but there was only so much they could do because the property, at least the suite we stayed in, needed a whole new makeover, it seems!

This building is a well-maintained Victorian style mansion. Very close to Beacon hill and Inner harbour but it's located inside a quiet neighborhood. Liked staying at the Beaconfield Suite. The other parts like of the property were antique and posh. We'd love to stay in the other rooms when we revisit Victoria next time.

My favourite was the breakfast and how accomodating Martin and staff were to my needs.Friendly peaceful atmosphere without being stuffy. My only suggestion is the bedside lamps could be brighter for reading.

The Beaconsfield Inn is a lovely property in a quiet neighborhood, but also very close to the various sights downtown. It is entirely walkable to the Harbour, downtown shopping, and many food options.

A truly lovely home, excellent breakfast, excellent staff. Our room was comfortable, spacious and pretty. The room lighting is poor and I was unable to read in bed the first night. I asked for a reading lamp the next day and it was provided right away. The bedding was slippery and loose and tended to bunch up under us.

It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room or at least on the floor, and an ice machine.

Really enjoyed this place and will be back. Lost a star because of the lack of coffee cream until 8:30 a.m.

The staff are lovely, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The rooms are spacious and the decor is exactly what the outside of the building would make you expect. Comfortable bed and our room even had a working fireplace...we can't recommend this facility enough. And a perfect location - incredible city park, ocean view, interesting neighbourhoods and downtown all within walking distance!

This is a very beautiful old manor turned into a B and B. the staff is very friendly and the breakfast is very well made. The location is very convenient to downtown Victoria. I recommend staying here for a weekend getaway.

This is a very nice B and B. The breakfast was outstanding, the appointment very comfortable. There were a few minor maintenance issues that mean the building is showing its age, but nothing that hurt the overall quality of my stay. Highly recommended! (Note: the inn does not appear to be accessible, and may prove a challenge for people with sore knees.)

We loved the property and our room, breakfast was excellent! Drawback was that there was no coffee or tea other than at breakfast. This could have been a covid thing. Close walking distance to Cook St. Village which has everything.

it is a wonderful heritage home that has been lovingly maintained, but still has up to date amenities. It is in a quiet section of town, with pretty good walking access to down town core, and other things like walking trails, and parks. Only unfortunate thing right now, is the two main north/south roads near the B B are being torn up for either sewer repair or traffic pattern change. Was an interesting challenge to get to the property, as we didn't realize that was happening on the 'usual;' way we get to the B B, .. but the route via Quadra and Humbolt is clear, and recommended right now.

Downtown Victoria Mansion With Modern Amenities

This property is so thoughtfully preserved and maintained by the staff. Even during COVID they found ways to ensure our stay was hospitable while maintaining safety standards, which is unique. The room had an amazing jacuzzi tub where you could watch movies and enjoy the warmth from the fireplace. The TV has a chrome stick but somehow the local channels had an amazing classic movie selection. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was so artfully prepared with consideration for all of our food allergies. What a lovely stay!

We loved the home which has so much character. Rooms have many amenities and bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was good but not exceptional in our mind. We like more dairy, fruit and bread/croissant and it was Very bacon/eggs/quiche. Very attentive on site manager.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were super kind and accommodating, they made us feel at home. Breakfast was very nicely served and delicious. Even though it is an old house it has been kept in really good conditions and everything was very clean. Our room was perfect! We do recomend this place, plus its location is great!

Lovely themed room with many books including several about painter Emily Carr. Sherry in drawing room in the late afternoon is a nice touch. Breakfasts are tasty but should include more choice and variety including items such as fruit cups, yogurt and healthy cereals as staples. Room darkening shades would be a smart upgrade for summer guests.
