Decided to go on an overnight staycation and was so disappointed. Not that I was expecting a 5 star hotel this was incredibly dirty. First off the staff said they had just finished cleaning the room we were staying in, yet once we unloaded the car and closed the one curtain, there was a furry thing hanging from the curtain, I started to freak out not realizing what it was, it was a bat! Next thing tbe staff came in and hit it with a broom and got it out. Next up came the bed which was covered in someone else’s pubic hair. We were so grossed out we packed up that night and drove home.

The property looked like a bomb went off and the bugs crawling everywhere within the unit were disgusting. If you have no other option, book it. Otherwise, go anywhere else. You can smell the mould underneath the paint.

Not worth it (unless you’re homeless)

This was the biggest click bait stay I’ve ever had. Pics look decent, but once checked in, it makes a rundown Super 8 seem like a 4-star higher-end motel. Bed was the worst I’ve ever slept in. You can feel the springs and wires. Found a spider in the corner of the bed. Shower wasn’t even an actual shower, but instead had some weird rubber bumper on the floor to keep the water contained. Washroom barely fit one adult. The whole room smelled musty (I can guarantee there must be black mold hidden behind the walls). One of our towels had a stain on it. Lighting was dark and dingy. No hair dryer. Only a half roll of toilet paper and no spare. I’ve stayed at hostels that were far better during my youthful travels. It would be ok if the pics represented the actual place and wasn’t close to $200 a night. If it was $50 a night and I expected a dark dingy place, I wouldn’t be writing this review. It’s just that we were click baited into expecting a much nicer place (especially for the price).

Cold showers but otherwise nice and clean room. Parked on the property early before check-in at no cost. Simple and quick check-in and out. Best feature is conveniently located next to beach.

Upon checking in and discovering there was no inside door safety latch, only a basic door knob lock, we decided not to stay and gave the room key to attendant. I requested a refund and emailed and called the owner right after and have not heard back as of yet.

We had a blast!

Noisy all night. Smoking near No Smoking sign. One of the beds was uncomfortable.

Hanging plants were dead. Internet did not always work in the room. Plugs in the bathroom. Did not function. Nowhere to hang clothes at all. Not even a hook. No nightstand or coffee table. The picnic tables were old, filthy and broken. There was an odour in the room that was unpleasant and were in clothes. I didn’t even wear when I got home I had to wash everything.

the place is clean, staff is excellent, but beds are very low( not good for anyone with arthritis) no hot water, no place to put your clothes , TV is off to the side, can’t watch it from your bed , internet was off and on.

It’s close to everything, basic rooms but nice, good towels, pet friendly, bring your own hand soap and shampoo.

The only good thing about this place is that it’s right next to the beach so we were able to walk and not have to pay for extra parking. Check in was at 2pm and when we arrived at 5pm to shower after the beach there was no available clean room. They where in the process of cleaning the rooms so we had to leave dirty from the beach to go eat dinner and come back. Not any apology or any attempt to rectify the situation from staff. The floors in the room were not properly cleaned. There was sand from the people before us. The water from the shower head hits the wall and is not adjustable so your forced to squish yourself in the corner while your body touches the wall !!! On top of everything… my son was sleeping and a cockroach crawled on him in the middle of the night. This place is nasty and not worth the money!

Close to the beach, average property to spend night

I loved the treatment of the staff.

Beachfront at beach1 was ok as a spot to crash but that bed! I almost got up and slept on the futon couch instead of the bed. My wife and I both woke up so sore we could hardly move thanks to that bed. No other facilities in the room other than a toilet and shower. No coffee maker, nothing. Thankfully it was cheap. Not right on the water either, like the ad insinuates.

I booked very last minute so was expensive for what it is, paper thin walls, not the most comfortable beds but again was a last minute booking, area is beautiful, easy walk to the beach!

Just don’t go there…

The only issue was the amount of hornets around our door.

Booked a room at beachfront- beach1 motel. Checked the photos thinking ok a little run down but looks like they are updating it. When we got there, they put us is room 15, opened the door and the smell coming out was horrible, made my eyes water. The bathroom shower was disgusting. The window in the bathroom was moldy. The blankets on the bed gross and crusty and felt damp. The women working there was of no help. I told the women we would only be staying 1 night then, and if she can look into refunding us since they took payment right away. She never go back to us. After being in the room only 10 mins, I told the women we had to go and please to let the manager/owner know we are leaving and that we expect a refund. Well we didn’t get the refund and paid the full amount to just look at a room. Checked the next day, they had someone booked in the room already. This place made double the money for doing nothing. Not recommending this place to anyone. They are crooks.

The state of the place was really minimal but the proximity to the beach was perfect!

My Only complaint isn’t about the the staff or location, both were awesome! It was some of the other guest. Taking over/blocking outside common area’s of fire pits and bbq’s with motorcycle’s.

Cute little room for the price. Comfortable bed and clean room. The outside of the building is dated but the inside of the rooms are average and pleasing. I would stay here again. Easy check in process and nice staff. Very close to Beach 1 which is great.

The pictures are definitely not current. The floor was covered in sand, the floor in the bathroom had cracked tiles that moved. Very disappointed. Way over priced for the plywood beds we had to sleep on.

The photos that was posted was totally different in the actual person. We also had a problem with the grill tank and we ask for help but no one came to help us. The house was old and it looks like no one is maintaining to clean it.

we booked a one night stay, was what you would expect for a bit more than 100$/night, not the best but not the worst. great location to the beach. the staff were wonderful.

Bathroom door hinge hanging off, ready to fall. Shower difficult to ajust temperature. Water spraying directly at shower curtain. Water temperature handles reversed on sink. No night table between beds.

It was enjoyable, but the parking was bad and when we came back someone was parked in front of our room and we had to park elsewhere.

Proximity to the beach was excellent - this property was exactly what we expected for the price point. A classic beach motel. Though the shower was small - it had amazing water pressure and welcomed hot water after a day in the water! Staff were amazing - offering great local tips for places to eat.

It was a good motel. Reading some of the low rates reviews, I was feeling a bit nervous, but it was a good stay overall. It’s a cute motel with the required facilities. The staff was very helpful. Our ac wasn’t working but Laurie and Joe were extremely helpful and got it fixed right away. It’s a cute little motel. Won’t hesitate in returning.

Perfect fit and friendly staff

We arrived pretty late, but the owner was very accommodating. It is a beach hotel, but very clean and exactly as the pictures showed. Any interactions I had with the owner were superb. I can see if you are comparing this to a Hilton, you won't be satisfied As a diamond Hilton member, I can tell you - it isn't meant for that customer at all - but was perfect for us - were in town for a tournament, and needed a clean spacious room. Couldn't be happier, especially at the rate, and will stay here again.

It is such a cute and quaint little motel that is steps from the beach! The staff was great and friendly! I don’t know why this place doesn’t have higher reviews! I think it’s because people are way too particular with how they expect things to look, but I thought it was a great, little motel and again…only had to walk 2 mins to get to the beach!

Fair price for a discount motel. Unfortunately, there were large a couple spiders on the ceiling and a number of small ones, so it seemed like the room had not been thoroughly checked for a while.

Great staff, very close to the beach, very clean room. Laminate floor in room, hot shower, and overall a great stay. Room amenities are a bit limited with only one wooden chair and no small table or coffee maker. Fridge and microwave were helpful to have, thanks. Towels provided, however no wash cloths. So I recommend bringing a small fold up chair or two, and a pour over coffee maker and kettle which we did. Would definitely stay again, maybe even earlier in the year as we stayed in October shoulder season definitely.

The Location was close to the beach. The buildings were in a state of disrepair. No heating other than a blow heater That smelt like burnt cat here. Floors were uneven and sloping. No sound installation. I could hear the neighbours all night. Single plain glass windows with broken frames. No space to store items or prepare food. Couldn’t find anyone on site to help with broken microwave. Couldn’t cook dinner had to wait till the next day. Nobody answer the phone or the door.

Very old property and very expensive for such this room

Phenomenal location and motel was extremely clean. If you are literally just looking for a bed close to the beach, this place is for you. No amenities, such as a coffee machine, Kleenex, face clothes ect. So be sure to bring your own!

It was the perfect spot to spent the night in Wasaga for the first time. Not even a 5 minute walk to the beach with a lot of shops and places to get food. The staff was friendly and it was a great place to stay if you have a dog; they didn’t have an extra charge for it either :)

Run down motel. Bad room, very old and expensive. Totally different then the room pictures. Very bad mattress. Only good point is the location. Next time in Wasaga Beach, I will rent somewhere else.

Mel is a rockstar!

Well, this place is a little tired although it did recently get renovated and has a decent vibe. Mel who is on site most days is a rockstar. She takes care of incoming guests and any issues, she cleans and ensures the rooms are good to go for all guests and handles the laundry as well. She’s doing the work of 2 to 3 people and deserves a raise I’m sure. Proximity to the main area of Wasaga beach couldn’t be better. The beach of course is excellent. Place is quite convenient. We enjoyed our time there.

The staff are very polite and helpful to your needs. Would definitely go back and recommend this motel. In a perfect location right next to the beach.

No hooks to hang wet clothes

Nice spot very close to the beach. Cabins are obviously aged, but were very clean. We enjoyed our stay there. Only complaints were the parking, it's a shared drive for 3 vehicles, we were at the back so at the mercy of the other guests in the other cabins, and the a/c couldn't keep up with the temperature - it was pretty warm in the cottage even at night. Other than that it was a good stay, staff were very friendly at the main office.

Health and Safety Risk

Our experience was horrible. The two female staff members we dealt with were good. The owner was inconsiderate and does not run a safe facility. As we were in our room getting ready, I heard a key in the lock and watched as another guest opened the door to our room with the same numbered key on it. I took both sets of keys back and wanted an explanation for how this happened. There was no explanation, no real care...I got a lousy' sorry that should have happened.' There is no other lock on the door, only a single key in the handle lock(bedroom lock). Ask me if we slept well at all that night, the answer is a huge 'NO'. We were two females who did not feel safe all night, in fact we slide the bar fridge in front of the door when we laid down. The air conditioning was nosy and the spaces between the frame and the air conditioning we had to tape close. The door and door frame have a enough of space that bugs can crawl inside. I know it isn't rated a great star but that doesn't mean you should be risking your health and safety to stay there and pay over easily $150.00. We both have stayed in our fair share of motels but this was by far the worst.

The office was closed all the time. I had to call the owner to get my room. No one at the office. No service. The rooms where relatively clean but very old. I tried to cancel my reservation for July 24th and 25th and could not get a response from the owner. I will never visit this hotel again.

It was good for the price for 3 days and very close to the beach. Except the next doors were partying all night and were climbing the roof all night until who knows when. Ugghh. Other than than. It’s a good place to sleep. BBQ definitely need replacements tho. Some are rusty and not safe to cook on.

Myself and a friend stayed one night. The people were friendly, the room was clean and we had a good time. We'll definitely stay again. Also very close to bars, restaurants and main beach. For the price it's a good place to stay.

They're very helpful, kind, polite. We got an upgrade to a cottage due to the amount of people that came with us. It was beautiful. We enjoyed our night stay. I would say the only improvement to be made would be the mattresses!!!!!!

We arrived on Tuesday where motel was empty, only one more car with his strange owner repairing his car for hours. Felt a bit unsafe. We had to call to the posted on the door number as nobody was inside the office. Room was clean and no smell. We had to use small heater and then smell from heater was not pleasant. No toilet paper holder or towel bar. Only one chair to put things. Rest goes to the vinyl floor. Very nice cleaning lady greeted us in the morning. Location is excellent, close to the beach. I think prices for the room are too high, what you pay is just the location. At least offseason prices should be much lower.

Had a late October stay, was running a couple of Spartan races that weekend. Parking was free, there was enough spots for one vehicle per room. Free bbq in front of the room. Definitely more of a summer place, it was quite cold outside and the only heating was a little space heater. My room also didn't have light which made seeing anything pretty difficult. They provided me with a lamp with a 40w lightbulb, which is better than nothing I guess.
