Great location

Terrific location, steps to the plaines of Abraham, and a Short walk to the Citadel and old town. Well appointed and comfortable.

Great location, very walkable. Quaint property, spacious room. Easy parking in back. We had no problem securing a spot, having arrived midday. Limited refreshment service, such as coffee, ice, etc.

Great location and great stay

Fantastic location, great high ceiling and spacious rooms, were able to drop our bags early and leave them in storage when departing. Great A/C, good use of coffee facilities plus fresh water to refill. Great entertainment. Only one thing was you couldn’t open a window for fresh air.

je suis american, I stayed there before a cruise with family, total 5 people. We stayed in the "pent house" on 3rd floor. This property is quaint, very interesting older place. The stairs are a little steep, and the ceiling low in top floor. The neighborhood was in easy walk of old Quebec and easy to walk to restaurants etc. The staff were very responsive and did good job. My only comment was small bed had only fitted sheet and blanket wish it had fitted sheet + flat sheet + blanket. If you want very new modern place not for you but I liked it.

The room was ok, a bed, a shower, a tv. No service at all, a do it yourself hotel, happy there was not to much client at same time, should be noisy when full. No idea about breakfast as we see nobody during our stay. Well situated in center / old town

Great place

It was a very cute building. We visited the facility once before check-in and asked if we could leave our luggage there. There happened to be a staff member who seemed to be a housekeeper, so we were allowed in and they kindly let us put our luggage in the room. There is no front desk, so you cannot leave your luggage after check-out. The location was good because you can walk to the old town.

Really prime location. Walkable to everything. Smooth self check in and out. Responsive host. The stairs lead to the entrance were not properly cleaned from snow accusation. Could be dangerous for people going up and down with their luggages. Our room has a big middle window not covered by any wondow treatment. Impossible to sleep in with the brightness. But overall an affordable stay in a great location.

Easy check in, clean, comfortable and situated close to the winter carnival site. Easy walk to vieux Quebec, la Citadelle and a multitude of pubs and restaurants.

We had a second lovely stay. There were wrinkles and we suggest replacing two burned out bulbs - bathroom and bedside, a different straight down shower head so that it does not keep spraying out under the curtain onto the shower floor, not knowing to use Netflix when the other tv features and stations could not get signal to load from the 1st floor router to the 3d floor receiver, double checking the rooms in case the folks in room 5 stayed late/did not leave their keys in the basket/did not signal that the room was used and needing cleaning before we arrived, and ;) maybe helmets since I love low ceilings yet still clocked my head bleeding twice (it's ok, it happens), replace the missing shelving between closets along the far wall, and even encourage people to explore the storage turret which is a cool tiny secret room. All in all a very lovely time, thank you :)

Cute little spot on the outskirts of old Quebec that continues that nice old homey feel, just a short walk from the plains of Abraham. Was great for a few day trip with my girlfriend :)

I would definitely recommend this b&b to anyone, but especially those planning to do a lot of walking. Me and a friend stayed here for three nights in late October. The price was very affordable and the amenities were wonderful. The room was spacious and clean. There was good storage spacProvided were many conveniences such as shampoo, body wash, q-tips, cotton pads, glasses, towels, a shower mat, tissues, luggage racks, spare chairs, iron & ironing board, and extra pillows & blankets in addition to 4 pillows per bed. Air conditioning and heating were available. Though there is no front desk the owners were accessible via phone (call & text) and always replied very quickly. They were very obliging with requests and everything was communicated very clearly. The location of this b&b is also perfect; it's right beside the plains of Abraham and very close also to Vieux-Quebec as well as the VIA rail station. The airport is about an hour away but it's a very simple route. The chutes de montgomery are also an hour away, but that route is very simple as well. Only mild caveat is because it is an old building & we were at the very front (floor 1 room 1) we could hear traffic sometimes at night or in early morning. It was not too loud but you could definitely hear it. If that's something that bothers you maybe ask for a room further back or on floor 2.

Lovely little bed and breakfast. Checking in and out was super smooth and the hosts were responsive.

It's a lovely property in a great area but it's pretty dated and the beds feel so old and springy like a trampoline. Still good value just don't expect luxury. They list laundry services as an amenity which was partly why we booked here but they informed us afterwards they didn't have any available

4/5 would come back again! it was my first time checking in with no staff, however a day before my stay they sent me clear instructions on what to do upon arrival which made things super easy. The only issue for me was no parking spots :/ however the place is great and such a vibe!

Very spacious!

The property has a lot of character. It is an easy walk to Old Quebec. The room was very quiet. It is in need of some upgrades and you need to be able to climb stairs. There is only parking for small cars. It was good value for yhe money.

More like a bad hostel than a bed and breakfast. Deeply regretted not booking a hotel.

It was great

Smell horrible. Can't open the windows. It really smelled very very bad. Walls are roughly patched, there's no coffee in the room, paint is peeling from the shower wall. There's nobody at the door as expected, but we could not ask anyone about the smell. I would not recommend. Go elsewhere.

Convenient location to Old Quebec. Prompt response to questions.

This is called a Bed & Breakfast, but breakfast is not included ($25. per person for a Continental Breakfast). Our room was nice and clean. Plenty of towels available. Walking distance to Old Quebec (15 minutes). Parking available, but spot was tight for our truck, but we managed. Plenty of restaurants close by.

This is an older property that needs to be refreshed. There is little or no interaction with the management. This does not have a feeling of a nice B&B and should not be advertised as such. The location is good.

The room was dated and there was no evidence of professional maintenance been carried, it was at best, poor DIY standard. As soon as you see the state of the front entrance you will realise you have made a mistake booking this place. The plaster is coming off the ceiling in the bathroom. It is only 30 minutes walk to the old town and many restaurants nearby. I did not see any staff here. The AC worked well here.

It was easy walking distance to sights we wanted to visit and lots of restaurants nearby. Could use an outlet plug-in with USB ports for charging electronics.

Our room at B&B Manoir Mon Calme was perfect for our stay. We were there to visit Old Quebec, and the location was excellent. A very easy walk to all the areas we wanted to see. The building it self is a bit tired in areas, but clean and very quiet. There are a lot of stairs (just a note for the elderly or those with mobility issues). Our room was spacious and charming. Would recommend a stay here.

Avoid!! I got charged an extra $60 for no reason. I have kept the room clean and all equipment intact (haven’t broken anything). I’ve been trying to get to them but they are not responsive at all. I’m doubting they will even apologize or give us an refund.

This is not a “hotel”

it’s rundown, nobody at reception and the room feels like it was last refreshed in 1997. It was decently clean. The room was relatively uncomfortable (bed especially). I regret a little going although I could see myself being 22, backpacking and thinking this is a better option than hostelling.

The air conditioning doesn’t work. The breakfast is no free. If you want to eat there is $25 per person. I went there 2 years ago and it was included. The rug smells really bad.

The room could have been better ventilated. The dampness of the room especially bathroom gave rise to spotting 2 big silverfish roaming around the bathroom floor. Also the breakfast being continental only was $25 plus tax which appears veey expensive. We decided to eat out.

Nice place! Perfectly located between the old city and Edu-Inter where I was taking a French immersion course! Lovely surroundings and great restaurants near! Also, bus 11 (best bus for all major access) stopped right in front.

We really enjoyed our stay! My husband and I loved the property and thought it was beautiful and that the location was perfect. We did not see any staff during our five day stay, which was perfectly fine with us but might be a problem for someone else. The check in process was very smooth and easy, which we appreciated as we were coming in late. The only real con was that the parking situation was difficult because the snow packed on the sides of the lot meant that the whole parking lot could not be utilized. Because of this we ended up parking in public parking across the street. Not a big deal. Overall we loved our stay and we cant wait to come back someday! Especially the value for the price is exceptional. I highly recommend staying at this property!

Location was excellent!! Clean, lots of space for our family (we had the top floor 3 bed unit). We bumped our heads a few times on the low ceilings but the space was totally charming. Parking was just down the street, easy to find, no big deal that it wasn't on site. Excellent value. We loved it!

The location is convenient, Room was dated, but the bedding was good, I loved that there was a water dispenser outside for everyone to use, wine glasses in the room, there was a hair dryer, a lot of towels, easy check in and check out

Very Nice location and Easy acces

The building is cute outside and inside, clean and walkable to old Quebec. By e mail, staff is responsive and polite. On site, they are cold and rude. No “hello how are you, how do you like your stay” But we got only : “is it your car outside cause you have to pay” or “how many are you because there is an additional “, Don’t expect warmth and welcoming behaviour. Once on site, we were told breakfast was not available because the cook was sick. It was a public holiday so everything was closed but they dod not care and did not try to help. In a nutshell, you could probably get a much better experience somewhere else..

not for one who has ambulation issues, wish I had known, 3 flights of stairs for me to negotiate with a 45lb. suitcase, plus I was late arrival, I was drained! Next morning down 3 flights, no one to assist or offer to assist!

OK place, poor communication.

Place is clean, easy to check in and comfortable. But very poor communication otherwise. 1. First, they gave us all the info about having breakfast in the B&B but did not tell us that we needed to make reservation in advance so we had to roam around looking for breakfast the first day. Second day, when we reserved, they did not confirm for hours. Finally when they did, there was no breakfast in time the next day so we left without breakfast. Pls keep communication quick and keep your word.

Nice buildings around

Conveniently located close to major attractions, the place is in a spacious well maintained older property. Well worth the price. Breakfast is offered at additional price. A lot of reassurances around.

We had a great stay. We had Room #1 that was in the front of the house and it was spacious along with being quiet. You could not hear anything from the street traffic. You are very close and walking distance from the Walled City. Lot's of options dining options with a few blocks. I would definitely stay here again.

Good size room and old world

The welcome we received was a demand we pay IMMEDIATELY $20 for parking. No words of welcome. No information except what the keys were for. It was NOT welcoming at all!!! Not like other B&Bs we've been to. The worst thin is that this place is falsely calling itself a B&B. It is NOT a B&B! We had to pay $10 each for breakfast!!! I have never had to pay for breakfast at a B&B! EVER! The cleanliness was not desirable. There was an OLD cobweb near the ceiling between two walls. The ceiling was badly repaired. The bathroom looked very dated and need of repairs. That's not what we expect to see at that price! The location, however, was perfect to go visit Old Québec.

A lovely stay in a lovely space. It is an older building with character which the owners use well and appoint with antique decor to match the space. The room could use a bit of upkeep (painting, grout, etc) to enhance its appeal but I would stay again.

The location of the hotel is great! Easy checking and checkout. However, the carpet in our room was dirty and it needs deep cleaning. There was no room service even for extra towels. It’s an B&B so you assume breakfast is included and that what the description says when we booked it but it was for $10/person and it wasn’t worth it.

Old World Charm & Warm Hospitality

The B&B Manoir Mon Calme is perfectly located on the Grand Allee and within walking distance to a large selection of restaurants and the Old City. Our room was perfect for a family of 3 with two Queen size beds and lots of room. The B&B has vintage charm with its exposed brick, high ceiling and historical touches (i.e. original iron fireplace). Lots of towels available (nice large bath towels) with the option for housekeeping which we didn't need. We enjoyed breakfast one morning that included fresh fruit, croissant, choice of eggs, coffee & juice. A wonderful choice if you would like to experience Quebec City!

Lovely old building, with potential to be an amazing B&B, but needs some TLC. Parking lot is very difficult to access. Back stair railing is broken, which made it dangerous to climb steep outside stairs. Bathroom needs attention. It was clean, but toilet ran all the time, tap dripped, shower head didn’t work properly, water stains on walls. Shouldn’t breakfast be included at a Bed and BREAKFAST? Had to pay $5 for a toaster waffle, oily tasting scrambled eggs and a few chunks of fruit. Queen bed was comfortable, but twin was not. We expected more for the price.

Location is ideal for walking to all main tourist places and yet it’s quite. The room is spacious with very high ceiling. Would come back. :)

The Inn is historic but the room was out dated and hasn't been updated in years. It had an odor. It was quite. The tile in the shower had been repaired with caulk and not grout. The towels while they appeared to be clean had a bad odor. Like a towel that has been used so many times and no matter how many times you wash it, it still has an odor and just needs to be thrown out. You pay to stay at the hotel and parking should be included. It was an extra $20 to park a night. Breakfast was ok. It's an extra $5.00. you get two eggs, toast, coffee/juice, a waffle and few pieces of fruit. Be aware, the waffle is an Ego waffle it is not home made. It was heated up in a toaster. It is in a very convenient location to the historic part of Quebec. Within walking distance.

Great location in upper old Quebec. Have done a great job of preserving the old Quebec look inside. Lots of attention to detail for their customers. Only downside was front door lock was sticky and hard to open, jams and butter at breakfast were expired and hard. More mention that there was copious amount of stairs, but standard in the homes unless one stays in a hotel with elevator. Not good for those with disability. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful home. Amazing location. Everything was easy to walk to. Only complaint, the breakfast menu is not as stated on website. But still a great place to stay.

Nice building. Nice room but I don’t understand the rave reviews about breakfast. Pancakes were Eggo waffles. Yuck. Asked for cheese in my omelette was asked if sliced was ok but none in it. The fresh fruit was two sections of orange two small slices of apple and half a banana. Didn’t bother with breakfast 2nd day. Room wasn’t made up and had wet towels for 2nd day. Was told while checking out that rooms aren’t made up due to COVID and extra towels were in a closet in the hall. Would have been nice to know. Btw this is the first time I ever wrote a review like this. What gets me is that this place wasn’t busy. At breakfast we were the only two people staying there. One other couple stayed there the 2nd night. Price and location was good though.

A visit to Quebec City

The room was clean, some quests were loud in the hallway at night. The hotel is a historic building so it made our stay more interesting.

Nice old place. Unfortunately street paving (all night the noise of huge trucks, etc.) made it almost impossible to sleep.

We loved it. Clean, great breakfast, excellent location. Walking distance to Old Quebec. We highly recommend it.

It was a decent stay for the price. Rooms and amenities were good and it had a traditional style it. Breakfast was amazing! The lady was so kind and prepared the breakfast for us according to our liking. The only downside was there weren’t any parking and we have to park at a public parking and walk to the building with our luggage.
