Excelente estancia

Excelente hotel para visitar Expo Guadalajara, ya que está cruzando la calle de uno de los accesos. El buffet de desayuno está muy completo y rico. Habitaciones limpias, amplias y cómodas.

This hotel is conveniently across the street from the Expo Guadalajara but it needs maintenance. Our door had to be forced open and closed. Another door down the hall from us had a 1 inch gap at the top of it through which you could see into the room. We ordered room service twice. Once was fine but the other time I ordered a burger and fries but the fries were gummy and the burger was burnt.

We always try to stay at one of the Barcelo hotels if there is one where are going to. We have stayed in Mexico City, Barcelona, Guatemala, Guadalajara, Costa Rica. We're sold on the properties and the service. The price is reasonable as well

I have stayed at many barcelos around the world and this one has to be the worst of all. The luggage helpers were not helpful or asked to help seeing me with a lot of bags. I asked front desk that my bathroom doorknob was falling off and I couldn’t lock the door and they did nothing about it. 6 days without being able to lock the door. The tv control had no working batteries asked for new ones never received, the coffee pot tried to do some coffee and couldn’t because it didn’t turn on and asked for a new one never got a new one so no room coffee for 6 days. Ironed my clothes and the iron board screw fell out of the board. The bathroom mirror was never cleaned. Didn’t get new drinking cups were left with soda and never changed. The room safe didn’t work after 2 days it said error and had all my personal belongings in there and had to stop my day trip because I had to wait for a maintenance man and security to come to the room to fix it. Then they could fix it because it’s a new safe so they had to bring another safe and they had to install that. Then I also told security and maintenance man about my door knob and they still didn’t do anything. I had to call and tell front desk that the cleaning lady put no toilet paper after seeing a small roll in there, no shampoo no body wash no body lotion, no little towels. Really bad room housekeeper. Really upset about my stay. Never staying here again

Disappointing Stay at Hotel Barceló Guadalajara

I had two rooms at Hotel Barceló Guadalajara, and my experience was disappointing. For my first room, I requested feather-free bedding, which was confirmed. However, upon arrival, the bedding was not as promised, and the front desk staff insisted it was until the maid clarified. Additionally, the electrical plugs didn’t work, forcing us to move rooms after facing extremely rude service from the front desk. In the second room, my companion had a terrible check-in experience. Despite her name being on the reservation, she couldn’t check in before I arrived. After contacting the hotel, they requested a color copy of my ID via email. Ironically, when I checked in, they made a black-and-white copy of the same document I had sent. We were assigned a dirty room, and when I returned to the front desk, the staff was rude and condescending. We eventually got another room, but several electrical plugs were still non-functional. While the concierge sent a fruit plate as an apology for our check-in issues, housekeeping was inadequate. When I returned to my room at 5:30 PM, it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The front desk sent someone to make the bed, but they didn’t pick up garbage or change the towels, leaving dirty ones on the floor. Overall, 99% of the front desk employees were unfriendly, which is unusual for Jalisco, where I frequently travel. I only stayed here for an event, but I won't consider this property again.

Well, there’s not much around the hotel. There’s no food outside the hotel. It’s by the convention center, but I wasn’t at a convention, but the staff was absolutely amazing and the quality of the food at the hotel was good. They do not have a good pool or a good Jacuzzi, which is surprising because the hotel is very good but I did stay on the executive floor and had free drinks and free food which was really good, but there are locations and restaurants. This is a very weird area that the hotel is in.

My husband and I had been in Barcelo Mexico City prior to arriving in Barcelo Guadalajara. Our stay in Mexico City was amazing. The staff was so attentive and informative. That’s why we decided on Barcelo Guadalajara. BIG MISTAKE! Hotel was dated but that wasn’t an issue. It was clean and we felt comfortable. This review is for the staff. Not informative at all. I wasn’t aware that the hotel had control of the air conditioning. The day we arrived I called front dest to tell them the air conditioning was not working. They told me we will take care of it. They did take care of it but in the middle of the night the room was freezing and I wasn’t able to turn in off or change the temperature setting. I called them next morning and was told they were in total charge of the air conditioner and I was able to ask to be in control if I wanted. Well a little too late after not being able to sleep all night. Next thing was an issue with a bottle water. I called to ask for a courtesy bottle water. They said we will bring it up. After waiting 1 1/2 hour for the water I called the front desk, only for them to tell me you only get one bottle water per stay not per day. So you have to call room service and pay for one. I was upset not because I had to pay for the water but the fact that I wasn’t told in the beginning and I didn’t have to wait almost 2 hours for water. Besides the fact of not informing me of these things, the staff seemed to have a burlesque attitude. Def. not returning

I had high expectations for this property due to my stay in Barcelo Reforma México City. First of we get to hotel a bit early and the first gentleman tells me that the only available rooms they have are double beds (which normally I would be ok with but I know beds are small) so I tell him I will wait since check in is at 3 and i understand that I’m a bit early. So we go get lunch and come back almost at 4 and the girl tells me the same thing. I tell her well it’s way past check in and that a room with king size bed like I requested should be available by now. She tells me that they don’t and all they have are double beds. Not once did she apologize and she gave me no other option and just said they would be ready but she didn’t know when since they were still cleaning. So I took the double beds since we were tired and had been traveling all day. Again no apology. She didn’t even attempt to make it right. The next day we go to breakfast and we are charged for the “hot buffet” since we were labeled “superior level” and all we were entitled to on that level was a “continental breakfast” when I booked my room I paid for the “breakfast buffet” no where did it say anything about “levels” so be cautious when booking with them. To have the full breakfast included without extra cost you have to make sure and book a “premium level”. Again no apologies for all the mix up all I got was have a good day mam. Been to many places in Mexico and this is my first bad experience with a hotel.

What I didn't like was walking into a Five Star hotel and discovered a toilet that was leaking water onto the floor and yellow looking water in it. Called to get fixed and was told to put a towel down till maintenance could come. They showed and didn't fix and never did see them again. Mini bar was I still don't know where... refrigerator not stocked as the brochure mentioned. No complainary water as listed as well. Called front desk for a shower mat as the shower was extremely slick and they sent a thick get out of the shower towel. Front desk folks need to be retrained for customer service as they don't really have much of a clue on what's happening. Never ever will we stay there again. The guys that handle the luggage and cabs are great though. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. It was more like staying at a MOTEL not a HOTEL...Sad

We notice there was food in the hallway outside of a guests room overnight. The concierge was not very inviting, engaging or approachable. Seems very busy in a cell phone. Check in staff was very nice. However I would suggest you advise guests about opening or creating an account for incidentals. Lastly the parking lot attendant was not very nice about advising about a lost ticket. The restaurant staff were excellent!

Hello. I would like someone to contact me if possible. I would like to have a refund at list for 1 night as the Hotels conditions were beyond bad. The first night the air conditioning wasn’t working so I couldn’t sleep, I complain on the front desk and they change my room for another one that didn’t have water the following day in the morning. The worst part is that they knew that they have water issues so they have to give me a room so I can take a shower. So many inconvenience and they actually have no clue what they’re doing. Having breakfast the first day on Saturday morning it was like being on the beach sweating because also have issues with the AC on the Restaurant area. I like to have a refund. Thanks

The location of the hotel is great, as it is central if you want to go to different areas in the city. The rooms are new, very clean and spacious. The pool is great. The staff is lovely and willing to help/ answer any questions.

Overall the hotel was clean, but getting our room cleaned was challenging. On the first day our room was not cleaned at all, even after two requests. We had to request room cleaning every day we were there. After being out all day and returning at 3pm, it would be nice to come back to a clean room, however the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. After requesting, someone was sent immediately, but we had to leave the room again in order for housekeeping to do their job. Hanging a please clean sign on the door serves no purpose, since they don’t prioritize cleaning the rooms with signs requesting service. The restaurant serves an excellent breakfast, but very expensive. The porters were friendly and helpful.
