Francesco, Jorge and enrique were amazing. Service was excellent and the food was surprisingly good!!! 10/10
The property has recently been sold to Solaris. Some maintenance has not been addressed. 2 elevators not working. Water taps coming off the beach do not work. The staff were amazing and the pool side entertainment was very well done. Enrique was fantastic. Over all a wonderful week!!
Hi pressure time share Property pools in need of repair service attendants were great No swimming in the ocean Hidden cost not revealed at purchase Food was awful except breakfast buffet Bottom shelf liquors Property was beautiful
Overall the new management has a lot of work to do for property to reach expectations for a good all inclusive up to standards one would expect from mexico. We booked it for affordability but wouldn't return. Property itself is pretty outside but needs new upholstery in main areas. Rooms were fine. Food was very decent, especially breakfast. Staff in general friendly, but front needs to hustle a bit when guests have reasonable requests. Resort was quite empty when we went. I think with upgrades to property and general management, it will eventually go back to previous standard that I read about in reviews of when it was Barcelo.
I stayed at Hotel Barceló for my Thanksgiving vacation, and unfortunately, my experience did not live up to expectations. The amenities were disappointing—several critical issues arose during my stay. The electricity went out multiple times, which was not only inconvenient but also detracted from the overall comfort. Additionally, the food options were quite limited, leaving little variety to enjoy during the holiday. The pools, which I was looking forward to, were uncomfortably cold, making them less usable despite the beautiful setting. Overall, the property did not meet the standards I anticipated for a holiday getaway. I hope the hotel management addresses these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.
The property was excellent, beautiful and tranquil. Food was excellent. Courteous and friendly staff.
It was not an all inclusive. No place to eat at lunch and supper . The worse resort we’ve ever stayed at .
The property under new ownership. staff was helpful property beautiful food need more variety and it was nasty!!
good service nice place
All of the staff were very attentive to ensure our stay was excellent.
Great place, friendly staff and very clean
The resort is very nice and its excellent staff is its best asset. The water of the pools should be changed more often. The resort has access to the beach, but swimming in the sea is not possible, due to dangerous currents; this is the only downside of this resort. There are some beaches nearby, but you need to have a car or take an Uber. The food of the resort is very good, I just wish they had more seafood on the menu, considering the location by the sea.
Good
Check in was slow and the rooms dated BUT the staff was very kind and friendly.
This is the last hotel i would try in ky life time
This is my 5th time at a barcelo resort, 2nd time at this particular one. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had. Buffet was decent, however only 2 of 5 the al a carte restaurants were open the whole week. Zero of the jacuzzi jets worked, Zero foot showers worked. We had to ask for the infinity pool to get cleaned cause there were bugs and chunks of hair floating absolutely every where. They cleaned it one day and then never again after that. Called for bottles of water on the room one evening (maybe around 8-9pm), they never came. House keeping was fantastic otherwise. Certain servers and bartenders were good as well. But by far the most disappointing trip I’ve had to a Barcelo resort.
Very clean and nice employees
We had an amazing time. The staff made the experience unforgettable.
Friendly staff. Good food. Awesome environment.
Overall it was a good stay .PROPERTYsax nice , staff were helpful and friendly . We were disappointed the the infinity pool or jacuzzi pool were not operational . Food was ok except a night at the Mexican restaurant (reservations required) . It was AMAZING .
The beach is beautiful but there was no mention in their advertisement that there was no swimming in the ocean year round because of riptides and currents. We had to Uber to another beach 20 minutes away so we could go snorkeling. The pools were awesome and so was the food and drinks with lots of friendly service. Loved the room with big walk in shower and a fridge filled with water, beer soda and snacks for free! Beautiful property! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I will not recommend this property. We were sold the premium level and upon check in staff did not let us know three out of the four restaurants were closed due to “low season” premium level swimming pool closed as well. We were told by several staff that Barcelo is not interested in keeping up the level of service up to par as they have sold the property to Solaris. This was very disappointing. Food and juice inside the room mini bar were spoiled.
it was very quite ND VERY CLEAN AND IT LOOKS LIKE A RETREAT, I LOVE THE VIEWS
Staff was fantastic!
My husband and I stayed for 5 days and 4 nights. The staff were all very nice, respectful and helpful. The only 2 things I hope they improve is the AC. The room didn’t feel as cool as we wanted and the ice machines weren’t working. We had to ask staff to bring us ice buckets everyday. But we still had a very nice stay and we look forward to staying in Barcelo again with our children next time.
Hotel was not crowded. Plenty of amenities and good food provided. Staff was the best part. Very helpful and sweet.
Overall I liked my stay at Barceló. The place was super clean, the customer service was excellent. The only issue for me was that restaurant and sky bar were closed for most of our stayed. The lobby bar was opened but at 10:00pm the DJ couldn’t have loud music due to the rooms above. We were not informed of the restaurants or sky bar being closed. Enrique was excellent in everything he did and very friendly. Axel and Kenji were also excellent and we love that they remember our drinks. Overall everyone gave an excellent customer service. We heard this going to be an adult only hotel which will be great. Thank you!
It was beautiful except the restaurants wasn’t available . Onky 2 out of 4 or 5 was available
The property was absolutely beautiful very enjoyable. I had one of the best vacations at work, enjoying the beach and the scenery. All the stuff was so helpful.. One thing I did not like was their restaurants was not available out for restaurants only two was open. They did not warn us ahead of time before we purchased our ticket. We thought all the restaurants were available to us. Other than that. It is a beautiful hotel resort
The facility is very clean and nice, but the best part was the entertainment. Enrique, from entertainment, was extremely friendly, outgoing, and funny. I would definitely go back just because of him.
El servicio fue increíble, todo el staff siempre fue muy amable, la comida es rica, es un lugar muy tranquilo. Uno de los diferenciales del hotel es el faro el cual cuenta con restaurante y un bar, quizá podrían considerar abrirlo más días
Loved the staff! All in food service, entertainment, maintenance, front desk....amazing people. Only challenege i had is our toilet backling up. We nirmally dont put paper in the toilet, so it was already having problems when we checked in. Each time, once you called a 2nd time, they were prompt. Outside of that, nothing else to say BUT good things. I am not sure what will happen once it changes hands, they were just bought by another resort company.
Staff was amazing
Customer service was great. Attentive and regularly helpful
I like that the resort is small and you could walk to the beach. The resort needs to be updated. It says it has 5 restaurants but only one restaurant is open at a time for the buffet and the one out of three for a sit down dinner which you need reservations. The game room/lobby needs AC and maybe more night entertainment.
Family of 5 with 3 kids ranging from 8-21 and we stayed for 5 nights. The 2 older ones stayed in their own room. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and the service was generally very good. Swim up bar was fantastic. But I recommend ordering at the bar and not the servers by the pool. Difference is liquor selection and pour. At the bar you can make sure you get what you asked for. Was not that crowded so easy to pick chairs by pool and no concern of leaving for a snack. The main point of issue, of the restaurants they have, 2 are ala carte. You have to make reservations and depending on how many nights you stay you can only make one or 2 reservations during your stay. The ala carte food served was EXCELLENT and our server Orlando was the best! But the reservations and dress code is not noted anywhere on Expedia description or the hotels personal website! You must wear long pants and closed toed shoes at these 2 restaurants. It’s 95 degrees, why would I pack pants! Also the ala carte restaurants are not open every day. The buffets and snack bar is. Buffets were good, not great but everyone ate well. The beach had no umbrellas and water is dangerous to swim in. Lastly, 2 days before we left we were told we needed to change room to upgraded rooms due to “maintenance”. Minor nuisance but our upgrade gave us one less bed. We did end up with a sea view room but we were hardly in our room. Hopefully maintenance was to repair ice machines, none worked.
The property was nice but trying to make reservations to the 3 restaurants were a headache. I wasn’t impressed with the buffets because I really don’t eat Mexican cuisine everyday.
Lose first 2 days due to chemical smell from air vent and exchange the room - Ended up with 1 King bed instead of double queen due to limited room available. Bathroom facilities smelly and not clean, bathtub stuck, shower looks dirty, not hot water on the last day and managers at the restaurants are rude. I would not recommended this resort.
The property is located in a good area based on stuff we wanted to visit. The staff friendliness was hit or miss. The pool staff was great but the restaurant staff at night we visited the italian restaurant and they seemed short staffed and overworked. We like the restaurants near the property and opted to go out to those instead. Overall the hotel is a decent stay.
The resort is quite average, with rooms that feel quite outdated. The food leaves much to be desired, although the staff is friendly and hardworking. We found ourselves leaving the resort at least once a day for lunch or dinner. There is a nice restaurant just across the street. I wouldn’t consider booking this resort again, but I suppose you get what you pay for.
Excelente ubicación. El servicio muy bien. Lo único es los restaurantes que cierran muy temprano.
Good
Staff service
Pools are great. Property is showing its age (elevators are disgusting). Food was ok.
Has a lot of fun and entertainment
Límite food options. We don’t have the option to eat the last day at the hotel because no more reservation available. I call just few minutes after they start offer reservations.
Everything
The Barceló El Faro is a beautiful hotel from the outside but once you’re there you realize that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. PROS: located across the street from great restaurants and bars. CONS: food is absolutely horrible! We couldn’t find a taco/burrito/birria to save our life. There’s not enough options for lunch or dinner entrees and no meat anywhere besides piglets cut up with their faces still on.. yuck. The hotel has no evening security so anyone can walk on to the property from the street at any time of the night. The all inclusive alcohol drinks are weak at best, even after asking every time for multiple shots inside. There’s no daytime activity programming besides a small trivia game and a ghost DJ that played old country music the whole time while you’re by the pool/beach. It’s México for goodness sake, can we play something else besides Reba McIntyre? Lastly, the hotel is sutated on the rocky coast of the Pacific Ocean and the waters are extremely dangerous. The beach is literally empty everyday because the waters are so rough and there’s no life guards ever stationed to watch swimmers. Very strict rules for restaurants on the premise. No shorts, sandals, flip flops, t shirts etc.. this is México not a restaurant on 5th Avenue. I also took the option of upgrading to a premium package which honestly was a waste of money. They do give you a better room solely because it’s situated by the beach but there really isn’t any difference. BEWARE!
Staff was very nice.
One thing to note is that this property is in San Jose del Cabo NOT Cabo San Lucas. The area is a lot more relaxed with the guests being families and retired couples. There are not many engaging activities and the pools are disgusting. They need to be cleaned desperately. The food was below average. I found it hard to find things I actually enjoyed eating. The service was great. The staff was very kind and readily available. If you stay here, I definitely recommend the premier package which gives access to different bars and amenities! Lastly, there is beach access, however, it is discouraged that you swim in the ocean as the waves are strong making it extremely dangerous.
The Stuff are not friendly at all needs more workers The water on the pool is very hot Not Enough food to choose
The light house with the sky bar and the Japanese restaurant
It was excellent
Alberca de adultos, sucia
Property was nice, access to beach was very good. Staff was very friendly. Disliked no food being available after 10pm other than room service
Overall, it was a good experience.
As someone who has always stayed at an all inclusive hotel, i found this particular hotel lacking many details. The first was the parking. I always rent a car and i had no idea where to park. The security passed us up and didn't tell us anything. Until we get to the lobby and almost hit the statue looking for valet parking or someone giving us a welcome as we used to. Then when we finally get there trying to find the lobby was a challenge. Im so used to staff being everywhere to help us. Then around the pool trying to find a place to sit was awful. The pools were empty yet there were no place to sit because people will litterslly leave and place a sandal on 1 chair and another in another ao no one can sit. For an all inclusive restaurant i found no one helps.
All excellent
Great resort for vacay but only downside for vegetarian people is that not enough options to eat in buffet. All in all best place to choose
Our stay was just perfect! The staff in general is amazing!! Special thanks to Yamilet, Karina, Axel and Fernando at the Premiere bars, you made our stay memorable. Also the waiters at the buffet Martha and Carlos were amazing!! The waiters by the pool Luis, Angel and Kenji excellent job!! The cleaning staff super attentive and Micaela at the Spa is the best. People at the Premiere reception did a great job too!! We had the best time at the property!!
Had a fun week.
Great staffing, pool stays open until 10 pm. Entertaining was great!
I’ve stayed at Barcelos before and this one doesn’t compare. Seems to be outdated, food was so-so, accommodating on things or room change or anything seemed to be complicated or the staff didn’t want to do it. We had a squeeking toilet, lights flickering on and off, a lizard in our room… so we asked to change, it cost me an upgrade to change. It was their problem not mine… I still paid for it. When we offered a cash tip, things got done… makes sense, I guess. Our 2nd room was nice, however our a/c was dripping a cup every 1-2 hrs and you could see moisture damage… the maids and a maintenance guy said nothing was wrong but clearly you could see it falling out of the ceiling and the drywall/paint was mush. The a/c dining area had chirping smoke detectors and everyone seemed to carry on as normal and let these chirp the whole time we were there. Wonder how long they’ve been chirping. All in all our trip was very relaxing… just minor hiccups and things we didn’t know until we got there.
We have selected this hotel based on previous reviews but despite that it was fully booked and had a great location, the hotel is very outdated making everything look in poor condition and cleanliness from room bath to pool areas; the kitchen was very basis in all restaurants and when we asked about the luxury reputation Cabos has about it- staff said they were in need of a Chef; specialized restaurants is very peaky about the attire to be used however it has a limited menu without considering that you are allowed to visit them depending on the length of your stay- first time seen it in all inclusive. Entertainment and Staff Services can be rated a 4 considering the hard work and great attention received by the pool and spa staff mostly. I would not recommend this property or come back
Excellent place to stay at. Great food and hospitality.
Front desk Staff was rude since we arrived. We arrived about 11/2 hour early and he wanted to charge 15 dollars per person if we wanted to go in the hotel and eat. Never in my life I had to pay anywhere. I understand he could give me the room but other resorts let you in and eat and even enjoy the pool if you are early for check in. Food options were horrible only good option was the Mexican restaurant with reservation. The day we dint make a reservation the only option was Mediterranean food. HORRIBLE. Staff serving where pretty good. Pool service was good as well. Never again
Great resort but poor customer service.
It was ok
Unfortunately, I paid the most expensive price for my room and my air conditioner would not stop leaking inside and we had water all over the floor over and over. I reported this never did they say they were sorry or even offered to change my room even when I left, it was still leaking and the floor was flooded Management really didn’t care they just continue to say will send somebody there are lots of choices and I recommend many other hotels besides Barcelo it’s not my first time I’ve stayed at one of their properties and they’re always seems to be issues
My husband & I came to celebrate our Anniversary. We did not enjoy the every other night entertainment. Rhe restaurants men gave to wear long pants no where on the website does it state that. They gave us a hard time with dining, then eventually they lent him a pair of used pants. We upgraded to the premium package a waste of money. One of the bars wasnt open half the day. We never got some of the amenities that were to be included. Buffet was not good
Staff was super attentive to my needs were really friendly
The staff was great the convenience to the airport was very good the room was pretty clean but it was dirty behind the furniture and they never cleaned the bathroom mirror. The pool was kept very clean! The gym was not ventilated and it was very hot! The only restaurant that was good was the sushi bar! The buffet at breakfast had very small amounts of food. Not a wide range of choices. I thought the staff was very nice but not enough to accommodate all the guests.
Good hotel but check in was brutal. The only downside is you can’t use the beach because of the strong waves. Also, the food was just ok. The staff did an amazing job while we were there. Big Shout out to Marcela who kept the drinks flowing!!
Horrible customer service! The food is ok. The hotel little old. I don’t recommend going there.
This property was a 2 out of 5 at best. There was no 24 hour room service as edvertised on Expedia and it seemed everything we asked for was extra. The first room was really loud and caused an unpleasant experience. Overall not a good experience and the customer service received was not good.
The premium room check-in experience was odd. We were walked over to a very crowded and hot room and told to have a seat with no further instructions. We found out through other guests that this was the Premium Lounge and we had an “elevated check-in experience” but we were in there for over 30 minutes. The food on property is not good. La Gondola, the Italian restaurant is the only exception to this. Drinks aren’t great, but the property is pretty and the pools were mostly clean. Our AC went out and no one responded to our complaint for over 14 hours and then finally someone said it was out in the whole building. Still no apologies or remedies to fix the situation. This was supposed to be a romantic getaway and instead felt cheap and very sweaty. Our room was hotter than the temperature outside. Will never come back.
Very relaxing time
This is a very beautiful property. Our room had an amazing view. Jared and Enrique in the entertainment team AMAZING! And Alex the only waiter that was on top of his tables. Other than that the AC in our room was not working we sleep horrible. When we could go down for breakfast we had to get our on coffee because no waiter would come greet us. The fact that you had to make a reservation for the restaurants was crazy. The check in process was so long we had premium and our checking area was different but only one person check in and out. Only to premium bars and waiter was not allowed to get us drinks. Overall it was an ok experience.
Property is ok They don’t have variety of food; no choices very poor menu Not different activities then the regular in any hotel. Also our room had a leak we notified the front desk and it wasn’t fix. The worse part of all is that they don’t have enough employees to the demands; bell boy’s, waitresses in the restaurant and pool.
Our stay at this resort was overwhelmingly disappointing from the moment we arrived. There was no valet service available, no one greeted us or assisted with our bags. The check-in process was painfully slow, adding to our initial frustration. Upon entering the rooms, we were greeted by a dated and musty atmosphere that was compounded by the lack of air conditioning on the first night. Despite our complaints, the staff did not take immediate action and only relocated us to inferior rooms the following day. The dining experience was equally dismal; the food quality was appalling, and the drinks were consistently watered down. It's safe to say that every aspect of our stay fell well below expectations. Overall, this resort failed to deliver on even the most basic standards of hospitality and service. I strongly advise against staying here.
The biggest issue was not being able to get in the water on the resort's shoreline because the waves are too strong. Had I known this, i would not have booked Barcelo Gran Faro. I travel because of the beach!!!!! Not having washcloths is unacceptable also!! Then for the front desk to tell you on several occasions that none are available or they just send one when I asked for two. Also compared to other all-inclusives, the restaurants nor entertainment 'hit the spot', both were just mediocre. Very clean property and friendly staff though!!
Enjoyed the Adult pool and swim up bar, room was nice, buffet unexciting. Dinner reservations were impossible to get-you have to go online and reserve it was always full and we logged in at 9am when it opened! They tell you at check in not to swim in ocean, waves were pretty rough. Our Expedia reservation stated a welcome bottle of wine, daily bar replenishment and 24hr room service none of those were true when we inquired at resort. Overall the staff service was good, I was happy the bar had Centinario Tequila beer selection is draft.
The only good part, was the view from the tower, everything else was horrible. The room we stayed had no air conditioning for 3 nights, that's a total disaster because Cabo is hot and humid of you take away the air conditioning, that makes it hell. They are under staff, that makes the place look dirty, dirty dishes where on tables and outside the rooms because of the people that order room service. The food is average, nothing really stood up. I would recommend this place. Even after i paid extra for premium, you have to go and get the premium drinks to only 2 specific bars, waiters aren't allowed to bring you drinks. This place is not worth the money
The property is quiet, entertainment was ok, not a lot of food options.
Old
Ver nice
Good entertainment
It was so nice!
The experience was amazing, really good costumers service, food drinks and entertainment. The staff in the restaurants really kind , friendly and welcoming.
The food is not good at all! We were there 5 days and coyld only book teo restaurants they were closed most of the time and all of this reservation its so inconvenient
We spent a lovely weekend here with my family. Friendly staff. Good food. Would definitely return.
No one knew anything. Everything was far, food was not good. There is aparrently different inclusivr packages that they dont tell you about until you get there
Great property and the staff was amazing!!!
The resort did a goos job of offering different dining options. Everyone was vert helpful and friendly
Barcelo was a great resort! It was an older resort but everything was clean and the night club in the tower was really cool. The food was probably some of the best resort food I’ve had in a while. The staff is absolutely wonderful and they made sure to have a lot to do. I do wish they had more shows at night just because the first one we saw was really cool! I do recommend this resort for the people that was a more chill vibe.
We loved the location of the hotel. We had a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The staff was also very friendly and kind. The food was average, not a lot of choices and at times the food was cold.
Barcelo is ok, it needs to improve food quality and update entertainment to bring more life and fun to the resource. Staff needs to be more friendly.
The staff is always amazing. Luis, Jorge, and Irene, who work around the pool area, are so friendly and so attentive. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the housekeeping crew was diligent in making sure we had enough water each time they passed by. The breakfast is amazing (especially the omelette), and while the dinner buffet is average, you can usually find something that exceeds expectations depending on the theme of the menu. We have been to this resort over 10 times now, and we will continue to stay at this resort.

The food at the buffets were cold at times..
