Xmas Stay in Bilbao

From the front desk to the restaurant to the location, all things were exceptional. 7 min walk to the Guggenheim museum and 8 min walk to old town, Can’t beat this amazing hotel. And the front desk staff were super knowledgeable and friendly. Def coming back next time in Bilboa.

Great location and within walking distance of Guggenheim.

Good buffet breakfast, comfy bed, air conditioning ok fridge in room. Staff reasonably helpful eg waking cal, providing ironing board. Run down area around hotel. For veggies food we had to go into city centre - Camellia vegan restaurant. Street up the side of town hall has shops including bakery and greengrocer. Can walk along river to Old Town -carrefour supermarket on corner.

Amazing view and location

Wi-Fi network needs improvement

For size of this hoelithe WiFi was unusable for team's meetings. The speed was very slow and connecting dropped out several times.

We loved Bilbao. Hotel was ideally located close to the Guggenheim and the Old Town. We stayed in a suite room - which was very spacious, comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again.

One of the BEST quality and variety (included) breakfast buffets we've experienced. One of the few places in (all of Europe) that the (hotel) restaurant includes 'complimentary' still and or bubbly water with your meal. Room, hotel and elevators very clean. Hotel is upscale and clean, staff friendly and helpful. Location was good for us, everything we wanted to see / visit was walkable, or public transit close enough nearby. shortcomings: In room refrigerator does NOT get cold. we mentioned it to the front desk.. the implied this was normal. Shower, the temperature varied widely w/o an adjustment. I-net, provided free. in the lobby it works great signal is strong, (in our room) on the 6th floor strength varied and I lost connection periodically

Great location and very clean with attentive staff. Hallways were very long and rooms small.

Everything is good about this hotel except for 2 things: most important is that the rooms have paper thin walls so you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms. Hopefully they are quiet while you try to sleep! Second, you better have a small car if you want to park in the garage as maneuvering and spaces are very tight. I will not return due to the thin walls unfortunately as everything else was a 4-star experience.

Saying that it is a 4 star hotel s an over rate! Wifi NEVER worked in the room and air conditioner could't be lowered to a more comfortable temperature. Staff was really friendly and willing to help

Bilbao trip

Hotel employees were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect and the hotel was very clean. Overall, a wonderful hotel and one I would definitely go back to.

Nice hotel

The hotel's location is excellent, close to the old city and to the Gugenheim Museum. The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean. The hotel appears to be oriented toward business travelers.The negative is the high price of breakfast. Also, when we checked in, the staff could not find our reservation through Hotels.com. it took them almost 15 minutes.

Old town, modern hotel

I’ve stayed in Bilbao about 50 times for business over the past 10 years. This isn’t my normal hotel, but it’s a really good back up. The parking here is more spacious that many other hotels in the centre and with good availability even if you’ve not booked. The rooms are comfortable and the location is good for the river and the old town

Clean quiet hotel with nice enough staff but two things really made my stay regrettable: 1.) no AC on an extremely hot day means I sweat like crazy throughout the day and night. I asked front desk and they told me to open a window. It barely helped and I heard the whole neighborhood from my window. 2.) I was deathly ill after eating something bad in Casco Viejo and asked front desk if they could bring me cold bottled water and they were taken a back as if the request was proposterous- they finally said yes after I had my brother who speaks Spanish call them up and explain the issue- they said they’d bring it with a fee. I said sure I don’t care just get me the water cause I’m dying here. They forgot/ never came so I just dragged myself out of bed and did it myself. Joder. Paid a $100 less at a hotel down the street for a nicer room, where I could change the temperature, and where after explaining I was sick- they brought me tea and water.

Hotel is very conveniently located. 15 minutes walking from the old part and 15 minutes from Guggenheim. Funicular is very close as well. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent breakfast with a lot of choices. Would stay again.

Worst stay of my Life

The superior room was adequately suited for the value. The suite was horribly overpriced and there was NO A/C and the heat was miserable. Worst night trying to sleep I’ve EVER had in a hotel that generally rates good.

A well located and comfortable hotel

A well located hotel and a quiet room as requested. Room was comfortable and well equipped having everything necessary such as safe, kettle and good shower with toiletries. Breakfast good and more than sufficient.

Property is close to restaurant and places I want see like the guggheim, old town . The staff are all nice and accommodating.

For a 4 star hotel, they should do much better. Would not reccommend. Clean rooms, however their digital platforms did not allow to order room service, or even contact the front desk. There was no climate control in the rooms. Tvs were old, all digital I fo was incorrect- and there were no room service menús. When we asked for support, the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. They didn't seem to care. In fact, nobody offered to help us get the app, and there was no apology for any of our experience.

On the river. Easy to go to the Guggenheim. Friendly staff. Quiet room and rather large.

Good location, not well equipped for warm weather

Good location on the bank of the Nervión River, close to the funicular, and 5 mins from Abando train station & Casco Viejo. The bed was big and comfortable. The downsides were that the hotel room was uncomfortably warm, and the room fan could not be turned on. It was locked to a winter heating pattern even though it was 31c outside. On asking at reception we were told it would not be possible to turn the air on, it was a hotel wide setting. No additional portable fan could be provided. No alternative cooler room could be provided. Also the fridge could not be switched on so we couldn’t chill water. Ventilation in the bathroom & toilet would have been good also.

Great location convenient to the tram and nice areas of Bilbao to explore. Hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. Recommend the excellent breakfast buffet!

Great room, great location. We had a view of the river and it was an easy and pleasant walk to the art museum. It was nice that there were doors between the main bedroom and the extra sofabed.

It was near the Guggenheim Museum and close to the Old Town. The surrounding area outside of the hotel was gorgeous. There was no outside (patio/sidewalk) dining close by.

Good location. Not very friendly welcome. Rooms functional but a bit drab and dated. V old tv. Fridge didn't work. Air con didn't appear to work. Odd smell seemed to be bumped into reception. Cleaner was Vacuuming a room with a cable stretched across the hallway to the socket - trip hazard. Noise transfer - eg sounded like furniture scraping.

Long check in as aircraft crew stay here. Unusual bedrooms with bathroom in room area but seperate toilet room. Very clean except for one day when cleaner forgot to clean glasses and forgot milk. Good to have kettle and mugs provided for Spainish hotel. Good value midweek dinner with wine. Perfect location for eveything in Bilbao and near metro to get further afield. Would definately use again.

Comfort and convenience

The hotel is first rate and a delight. Service is 5 star as well as the food. The Terrace could use a redesign to match what a cool hotel it is.

Good Hotel in Great Location

Good Hotel in great location close to city center. Very close to Shopping area with a great selection of places to eat. We pay for breakfast and they had a good selection of things to eat. Would I stay again, Yes!! Parking was expensive priced at 27 euro per day...

This hotel on the surface looks good, parking is convenient but only if you get there early enough because there certainly aren't enough spaces for everyone and it's dear compared to everywhere else across spain we have stayed. Maintenance definitely needs to be stepped up, our shower leaked from the tap area and the rain head shower bit dripped cold water while using the other shower head. The plug in the sink didn't work. The lifts are a joke, so small and only one goes to the car park. Definitely not staying at a barcelo again

This is my second time staying at Barcelo Bilbao Nervion. It's an excellent hotel for the price, great location, very easy to walk every where, great service. The only area it lacks a little is the dining in the hotel, but considering all the dining in Bilbao, this was not a factor.

Stylish property conveniently located halfway between the Guggenheim and old town. Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of choice. Good check-in and check-out times. Friendy, helpful staff. The bedroom was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and a powerful shower. Shower and sink are partly open-plan to bedroom, so perhaps less suitable for friends sharing than for a couple. Not much of a view from the bedroom window, but it didn't matter as the hotel was so conveniently located for all the sights of Bilboa. Would definitely stay here again.

The bed was really comfortable. We didn’t like the bathroom area because it’s not separate from the sleeping area. The vanity mirror divides the bathroom from the bed. We hear foot steps above us and in the hallway

The beds....! Wow! So welcome after a long flight. Hotel was very quiet too! Location is amazing - ideally located on the river and equidistant to the old town and the Guggenheim. 10 minutes either way. Definitely recommend and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Really enjoyed my stay. All of the staff were super helpful and accommodating. The cheese and jamon iberico boards were EXCELLENT. The wifi was sometimes slow, especially after around 6pm.
