The food is amazing, room was always clean. Pool was great. You could tell the staff were overwhelmed as it seemed over-crowded. Dining times were so late, it made dinner not enjoyable. Never towels available at the pools.
I saw rats and garbage on the beach
Nice service
Excelent staff
Excellent
Overall 7/10 - short drive from the airport - nice staff that welcomes you - very big resort, too big as fo my personal likings. We. Like smaller places but again that’s personal opinion. - great activities - small Cassino, nightclub, activities all around , 4 pools one for adults only but hard to get a spot - great spa, we used it twice and it gives you an access to the quiet pool, if we knew we would have booked spa each day if the stay and just stayed at the spa FOOD - ok, the buffet food was better than the restaurants.we tried steak place - very average, next night Spanish - nothing special, then Mexican - again average Buffet food was really good, lots of options for everyone, staff cleans it quickly so you don’t have to look at dirty tables all around - hard to find a spot on the beach or by the pool during peak hours- not hotel fault but again comes down to a big place with lots of people - great bar and super nice bartenders at the bar where night shows are, well recommended - hotel took a bit dated, but clean, nice tub on the balcony we used it once. The shower is in the room with the bedroom not so much privacy. Not a problem for us as married couple but I guess for some it might be difficult Would come back with a bigger crowd next time to enjoy all the amwnities
Barcelo is a good all inclusive option but there are certainly better ones. Food was okay. Little frustrating trying to make reservation dinner. We checked as soon as we checked in and could not get a time earlier than 9:30pm. Also, room service was not included.
Estuve 4 noches con mi novio la pasamos excelente. El hotel y las habitaciones muy limpias, el personal muy agradable con nosotros con exception de dos restaurantes. Vamos a volver al hotel en nuestras próximas vacaciones muy recomendado.
The theater was amazing the buffet was absolutely perfect. The pools and beach were neat and clean and beautiful. But in the room it was not the greatest it was dirty, tv was broken, lights wouldn’t turn off, and was very humid inside. But overall it is a beautiful resort with lots of food and so much fun activities to do.
We went there for a relaxation and to unwind. This is our 2nd time here and so we knew what to expect. We did lots of walking along the beach from one end of the resort to the other. We enjoyed the all-inclusive food and drinks. We recommend the Hoya 19 and La Brisa for dining options, as out of all the ones we went to, best food and service. There were a few little things that we noticed that were unpleasant, like the plumbing wasn't great for flushing toilets, didn't always flush completely. The resort could use updating, but it was clean and comfortable. We were there to relax and enjoy the beach, which they did a great job with the seaweed to keep it cleared off. I'm a picky eater and I did always find enough food for me to enjoy, my spouse had no issues finding and trying things, especially the deserts. I would definitely go back and would recommend to my family.
The division on the different area on the hotel
The food was less than desirable…. But if that’s the only thing that’s not too bad
Their food is not good in the bathroom they smelled
Me and my husband loved this resort, service was excellent, food was oki I am a little picky but it was fine. You have free drinks all day, free beach towels, We did a lot of exploring and we booked all the excursions in the hotel, the prices were a little high compering with the deals that we found in airport, but we were a little scared since it was our first time and we have a lot people saying that wasn’t a safe country my opinion it’s safe next time I will explore more. Overall we did enjoy a lot! Thank you
The food was not good and difficult to make dinner reservations
I’ve been to many all inclusives in many different places including DR & I have to say the staff here was underwhelming. Not very friendly, or attentive, aside from Milton! The rooms were cleaned very late in the day when we wanted to be getting ready for dinner. The pools and the beach were great. We had an issue with our outdoor hot tub which was fixed within a few hours. Not many activities. This resort is good for families. The sports bar is a great touch that is open 24/7, smaller food options but we are lunch there daily instead of the buffet. For the price I would recommend.
Property is amazing service and food is average
Room we were originally booked in was a mile away from beach or main pools and restaurants. We were moved with an additional charge to a small room but easier access to beach. Communication was difficult. It was hard to find employees that spoke English. The buffets were basically the same thing every breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach on resort property was cleaned every morning at 7am, watched sunrise daily, but just pass the property signs the beach was inundated with garbage, empty plastic bottles and household items.
245 dollars extra charge
Beautiful place with very attentive staff on every corner,I play a few rounds of golf and the staff on the course was very friendly socially Esequiel
Outstanding property, food and service is outstanding, already planning next trip at same location
The hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are really nice; the only thing is, there is not much bathroom privacy, so beware! There is so much to do at this resort. Be sure to visit each restaurant; they are all beautiful. Make sure not to miss the shows. My main complaint is the food and some of the staff. The food was mediocre, lacking flavor; the meats were overcooked and fatty. The coffee and soda machines would break down; the smoothie stand would always run out of fruit, and some staff seemed bothered when asked to make a smoothie. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning on my last day there and suffered for three days. I would recommend this resort if you are okay with bland food and accept the risk of getting sick.
Hoyo 19 I had the worst customer service experience ever they don’t even want to serve me and their faces were the worst part
Very good
We recently stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace in Punta Cana and had a wonderful experience. The resort is beautiful, well-maintained, and incredibly clean. Our family room was spacious and comfortable, perfect for our needs. One of the highlights was the wide selection of restaurants. The food was excellent, with plenty of options to suit all tastes, making dining a true pleasure. The staff was another standout feature – they were friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The only downside was the high prices in the resort’s stores, so keep that in mind if you plan to shop onsite. However, this did not take away from the overall experience. We would definitely recommend Barcelo Bavaro Palace to families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!
Beach and our our room was good. All the other things need lot of improvement.
It was my first time at this property and stayed premium. The TV in the room was not working properly and couldn’t connect to my laptop. The safety deposit box was not working at all. The bed was nice but the room seemed old and worn out. The service was okay but all the staff members seem not happy. They didn’t even smile when are eyes met. The food wasn’t that good except the French restaurant which charge $50 extra if you are not premium. Lamb Chop was good. Red Snapper was pretty good too. And the food from Room Service was decent. Spa was good with hot tub and saunas. The didn’t serve top shelf liquor so it’s probably a good idea to bring your own if you are looking for top shelf liquor. The golf course pretty good and the guys there were nice and helpful. And the price for a round of golf was very reasonable. Overall, it was a mediocre resort and probably wouldn’t come back here unless for a round of golf.
Property and staff were amazing
Everything was great except the majority of the women staff were unapproachable and not friendly. The food in every restaurant was horrible and had no taste. The soda was watered down and even the piña colada was watered down. Beautiful resort with so much potential but food and staff need major work!
It was nice ,clean and quiet.
Female staff need adequate uniforms
I hate to complain about these places because they are all good and competency is fierce, so I will just do about one thing: I do not like the uniforms of the female staff. White, short, tight dresses look overly sexualized and uncomfortable. I’ve seen more than one host talking to them while holding or hovering her hips and More than one staff adjusting and pulling their dresses down. On the other hand, male staff look very elegant and comfortable with their full white shirts, long and airy pants. Also: what’s the need of having name tags with their full names? There is a lot of people who can stalk and misuse this info just because they did not came to their tables fast enough. Done with complaining. Now let’s just compare: of the three different resorts I’ve been in the area, I’ve had better service (without being fastidious) and had access to cleaner beaches. To be fair, the place is huge and I’ve visited this resort on the peak of the high season, so there’s probably something to do with that. They manage really well a full occupancy, without making me feel like a bee in a hive.
Good
We had a great stay, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Every view is stunning. The trains that run around the resort make it convenient for getting around or for simply riding around to see all the views.
This was the worst all inclusive I have ever stayed at. We took our family to this resort in hopes of a nice family vacation with another family. It was nothing but terrible. Our check in process was smooth and we were taken directly to our room and everything after that went down hill. Our room was dated and run down to begin with. But we could get past that, however later that evening my five year old son and husband were in the bathroom and shut the door behind them and it locked without them touching the lock and then were locked in the bathroom. Thank God my husband went in with my son otherwise he would have been locked in the bathroom by himself. We tried to get it unlocked and it would not unlock. We had to call the front desk and they did not come for over 30 minutes to get them out. Next, the food was just absolutely awful. We are very adventurous in our food and nothing tasted good. Even our most basic option of an omelet was horrible. I have a gluten allergy and could not find anything that was labeled as gluten free so I was very limited in my options of what I could eat for 7 days. That leads into the next problem is that no one spoke any English or even attempted to try to communicate. We used the limited spanish we had to try and communicate but there was no effort to try and communicate with us. I could not communicate with anyone about my allergy to even try to help me find something to eat. We even had someone with us who spoke fluent Spanish and they still
Everything from check-in to check-out was great . Very nice staff , clean property, always someone’s available to help you.
Very nice and safe
This is a beautiful resort. Plenty of chairs by the pool and beach. Lots of open air areas to sit out of the sun or rain with views of beach and property. Enjoyed the one show I saw but they started at 10 pm, later than other resorts I’ve been to. Staff were pleasant but language was a barrier at times between average and good or excellent service. Service was sometimes slow at breakfast and lunch for resetting tables and getting coffee or a drinks. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to our friends and family.
The best resort stay i could have asked for.
What we liked: property and grounds are beautiful, beach, water, pools, our room was amazing with a second-floor loft, and always clean with plenty of towels, coffee, water, soda and beer. Spanish restaurant was the best - amazing presentation, lamb and fish were super, also service here was great. Japanese is second favorite, fresh and delish, service also good. Easy to book reservations for restaurants, we did it by golf course and koyo 9 lobby. just a hint, for breakfast go to steakhouse Santa Fe restaurant and sit outside, where you get decent service and a view. What we didn't like - pretty much two things - service and hard to communicate due to staff's lack of English. Staff has no desire to come and ask if you need anything, food and coffee takes forever to get. when we went to koyo9 for breakfast - decided to do a-la-carte, food arrived 40 min later and my daughter's hotcakes were cold and dry, my husband's omelet was also cold, seems like it was ready for a while, but server failed to check on our order. To sum up, this is a great place with poor service. By 6th day we knew where to go and where to eat and drink and get good service, but had to leave. for Breakfast only to steakhouse, for drinks to the bar by kiddy pool, girls are nice there, for dinner, Spanish and Japanese.. but didn't go to French. At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preferences, I would go there again, but my husband wouldn't.
The facility was beautiful the staff was friendly.
Every worker was mean, rude, angry, like they did not want to be there and really made it a lot less enjoyable when these angry rude people are taking care of you on a vacation you saved up money for. Constantly rolling their eyes when ordering, not saying you’re welcome after saying thank you, not giving an answer when you order and just making the drink. The drinks were always inconsistent. Sometimes the Pina colada had ice in it other times it was all liquid other times it was great. Not sure if it was because were white younger adults but hardly ever would waitresses fill our water but would fill everyone around us. Bartenders would see us at the bar and skip us to take orders for girls who are giving them her phone to input his phone number. Very unprofessional. No good mornings ever for breakfast or dinner no one welcoming in the lobby everyone was rude. Went to get medicine from the pharmacy you would think they’re nice there. Nope she gave a 5 second long hard blink when asking for allergy medicine. Very awful experience we will not be back. At the gym we would have to ask for water bottles and they still didn’t refill it. But the first day they filled it no problem. Everything was very inconsistent. One day I need a shirt for breakfast after the pool the next day I don’t. Very frustrating. I lost my phone at the resort and all the workers seemed to not care at all just making me fill out nonsense paper work and helping in no way. Nice place horrible people.
Excellent
Food at breakfast and lunch wasn’t great they need to improve. Staff sometimes with unhappy faces, but little percentage,
Everything needed was located on site.
This property was extensively great! The only perk I would have loved to have being that I was VIP was having all inclusive access to both adult and family side when it came to the restaurant and dining. That would have made it over the top and beyond but great overall!
Overall, the staff, women, were rude. Every question I asked was a no at first. Not the customer service we received at the princess grand Bávaro. Plus, a print we purchased was lost in our luggage transfer to our room. That was very disappointing to say the least.
GREAT PROPERTY FOR MY ENTIRE FAMILY! We were a party of 35 for a special birthday celebration and we couldn’t have asked for a better place in Punta Cana. The staff, the service, the countless amenities, the cleanliness, and beach overall met all of our expectations. We were there for 7 days and couldn’t get enough of it. Would definitely recommend and would also return in the future. 10/10!
They need to change the food menu!!!
All around great experience !!
I called for room service became the wall air condition was leaking and no one ever came.I also called because the refrigerator was leaking water but no one came.Since the begining it a bad a long experience,i had to wait for my room longer than 3pm because rooms were not available. Then they switch my rooms and the wait was longer.will not recommended.
Travel with family and 6 of us food poisoned. Food should be improved and people with no manners touch food, really disgusting, thematic restaurants as bad as buffets. Airport transfer more expensive than uber, so don’t hire with the hotel
Me and my wife had a great time.
Hotel sobre vendido, huele feo en los restaurantes, encuentras comida en el suelo y la comida no es nada buena. Y el servicio es pésimo
In general all the staff at all the locations and restaurants was very friendly with exception of the buffet restaurant where not all staff members were friendly.
The resort itself is very nice. Food is good, safety and fun are had everywhere, plenty of family friendly options. The check-in and check-out process was a bit complicated. we booked our reservation on Expedia for 3 people, but my name was not under the reservation, just my wife's name. This became a huge problem at the resort, and then I had to pay more money. I would like my money back.
This is our second stay. First time was in January 2023, we liked it and came back a second time. This time around we were very disappointed. Everything downgraded immensely. Our premium beach front room was old (wear and tear). No privacy for bathroom (literally bathroom in the room a With half open door lol). Restaurant’s staff service was bad. Not rude, but weren’t doing their job. The staff in general around the hotel were very slow and not efficient. Bad smell in specific areas that are really bad. For expemple the arcade/bowling. The kid’s club is old and not fun at all. Lastly, the food was mediocre. The plus of this resort is the kid’s waterpark and the beach.
We wanted to like this resort, but they could not deliver at a high level. The beaches were nice, and there are plenty of activities offered onsite. However, the food and drinks were not good. Sodas were consistently flat. The cocktails were weak and of course the liquor was low end. The food at the buffet was average at best, and the more upscale restaurants onsite were quite disappointing. The Mexican food restaurant was okay, but the other four we visited were actually bad. The service was very slow, poor quality food, and at one dinner we never got drinks. They took our drink orders but never brought them or even refilled our waters. Most consistently, the service was not good. We met only two or three friendly, helpful people who were working at the premium desks. The majority of the staff behaved as if they did not want to be there. Overall, it was a disappointing vacation.
Food was same every day- and the check in and check out process was terrible, way too long
We were in room 4010 on the Barcelo Bavaro Beach adults. We had mold in our room and they said they had no more rooms to move us to. Unacceptable!
It was a beautiful place.
Good place
This was a second year at this resort. Last year the food was ok but we loved everything else so we went back. There is more to a resort than the food. This year it was inedible. We were all very sick with food poisoning 2 requiring medication. The food was not cooked (raw meats). Always sending food back to be cooked. Some of the food was unrecognizable. By the last two days we survived on bread. Hard to get bottles of water even though we asked all the time. Everyone we spoke to had someone in their party who had food poisoning. Spoke to management but because we did not speak Spanish nothing was done, no remorse, no help. We also did not get upgraded as promised. I spoke to the resort ahead of time to confirm the upgrade and when we arrived it was a hard no. We have been to Dominican 2x a year for 13 years and this was our first horrible Experience.
It’s a good property but their cancun property is better. Staff is more curteous in that location and food is better quality. We also had an accident with our daughter at their pirate island pool which we thought could have been avoided.
The biggest problem was some staff Jason at the towel service. I think he gave me a false name as he did not have a name tag. Was not helpful and mean, he made me go to the front counter for a towel. He is getting a bad review over a towel... room were good Food was good overall steak house is a must Golf course for lunch is the best they serve you rather a buffet. Drinks were good Bars were fast.
All was good. Staff needed to be more educated and trained to be more hospitable.
This is my second visit. My first was for a golf trip and this one was with family. Great service a variety of amenities and no need to leave the resort. Had a great time.
While the surroundings are great there were few areas of improvements that would like to pint out. Liquor selection was below average and our entire stay we were either served Black label or Chivas regal..single malts were all categorized as premium and priced extra. All coctails were made with liquor by a company called Bacanal and were either too sweet or too salty depending on wether u ordered a mojito or a margarita..Tajin was not there to rim the glass. And finally the DJ was so average that only one night we saw around 20-30 ppl on the dance floor mostly doing salsa type dance and despite requests to the DJ she wouldn’t budge.
Never come back again! We had been to punta Cana many times in other resorts , always satisfied and happy, Not this one! Terrible!
Good
I went 3 times to this property and this time it was horrible, poor services and poor friendliness. They just dont care anymore
Everything was great but if they add more options for vegetarian meals for south asian people it would be great
Leaking between the shower and toilet. Concrete from the roof above the hot tub fell down 3 inches from my kid. And the staff didn’t feel it was a problem. After fighting for 2 days we got a new room. Not ok..
The dining options
Nice Resort food not so
Transportation to and from airport was not included in our all inclusive package, this was surprising to us, recommend checking fine print before booking.
We were unsatisfied with being overlooked by staff in favor of other patrons when dining and checking out. We had to wait approximately 3 hours after arriving at the resort in order to get our room. We were not able to get reservations at the restaurants of our choice.
Big and beautiful territory
The staff were not very friendly and service was poor.
Let me start with a positive. The grounds are gorgeous, absolutely beautiful! We had 2 family rooms overlooking the golf course and the birds and wild life were breathtaking! The catholic church was also right next to it, if you are a church goer. The staff mostly speaks spanish so its hard to communicate if you really need something. Food is not very good. I wish there was more local options. No avocado or mangos yet the production in DR is huge. Do mot eat american like foods. They are awful! Eat what they know how to cook, rice, pork, etc. next time i will book a hotel close to town ao you can walk out and eat local!
The staff service was very bad and the staff was rude. The hotel room where I resided was extremely dirty and with very bad odor.
Pros: close proximity to alot of activities/excursions 7 really good restaurants (good food) Alotta pools to limit crowding Great shops Wonderful huge entertainment theatre for a show every day of the week Cons: Staff not trained by mgmnt. Nobody knows where any venue/restaurant is on the property, crazy I knew after 3 days there Very limited to none pool towls example:300 guests = 1000 beach towels. Brutal. Multiple elevators not working room phones inop and we were on 2nd floor with lots of luggage. Staff member aren't taught to smile at guests.(thats why tips are almost non exsistant) Staff misses/forgets special occasions
We've been coming to Barcelo Bavaro Palace since 2015. It has a great beach with a lot of space to relax, swim and walk. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, but they are gradually getting rundown and could use some cosmetic repair. The food was just OK, not as good as it used to be.
Overall, the property was clean and safe. The food was excellent with many options to choose from. The staff were friendly and approachable. We had a good time!
While the stay was nice, it was clear that the property needs an overhaul as it's deteriorating without proper maintenance. Some of the staff were excellent while others were dismissive. There was no consistency in customer service. This hotel is excellent for individuals who like to walk a is a huge property divided into sections which requires walking. Overall ok experience.
Great friendly place
The best part of the restore was the employees, expect the for the women at the towel station had such nasty attitudes and they only had to hand out towels. Neighboring rooms had music blasting all hrs of the night and for several nights in a row. During check in staff didn’t explain anything to us and where we can find the restaurants or buffets and they didn’t explain what we had access to and didn’t have access to. We had to ask each time.
Excellent oceanfront room; we loved the pool, the beach, and some of the à la carte restaurants. The service from everyone was outstanding, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We believe the nighttime entertainment activities could be improved a bit. Additionally, it would be helpful to train the train drivers to inform passengers about the route and ensure they remain focused during the ride. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would happily return!
The private beach was amazing! The staff was super kind, and friendly.
My husband and I had a pleasant stay!
I will never stay at this hotel again!! If you are African American I would advise you stay at a different location. They are very racist! You literally have to pull out money for you to even get close to the same treatment as anyone else. I even complain to one on the manager but they don’t really like to address the real issue at hand. They like to hush you.
EXCELLET CHOICE
The pools and beaches are lovely. Excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower. The bed was super comfortable too. Food is like all the all inclusives- Ok but a week of it is enough.
There is nothing wrong with the resort, but the food is extremely poor. In comparison with other "all-inclusive" resorts in Cancun, there is only one buffet spread in two areas with low quality food. There are even some private restaurants that are just "okay". Food is no longer palatable after three days, and no food is served in the pool area as in other resorts. As a result of food poisoning, I was ill for three days and my son for two. I recommend doing an excursion to another island with a natural swimming pool. It is unlikely that I will return to this resort in the future.
Great place to stay.
Friendly staff, nice amenities, smooth check in and check out. Would recommend to others and will return for future trips.
Barcelo Palace was our place of choice to celebrate our birthdays. It was our first time in Punta Cana and it will be our last. Everything was great from the staff to the food selection to the night shows. Everyone was so attentive and friendly.
Nice place
property itself and beach are great, the size of the resort is not really that great because it involves a lot of walking
I like everything the hotel was amazing the food the drinks the service the beach entertainment was perfect we will be back for sure
Resort and grounds were beautiful

This resort is the total escape destination for me. This was my 2nd stay in 8 months time, and I'll be back again in the Spring. Secluded, quiet, all amenities surrounding you.. The beach the pools the dining. I've no reason to even consider another property.
