Staff helped me fix my luggage that broke while being handled on the airport. they picked it up in my room, got it somewhere to be fixed and returned to me like new. Fix price was very cheap as I was considering buying a new one already.

Beautiful hotel and faultless.We stayed in a Hillcrest villa which was so beautiful.Tak our butler was exceptional.Complimentary fitness classes with Bikram we thoroughly enjoyed.Breakfast was delicious.We will for sure return to this beautiful peaceful haven.

Superb

Property is tugged away from the main road after a long narrow street with many unassuming lots and businesses. The entrance is relatively inconspicuous like other resorts in the area. Guarded security is a plus. Once inside the resorts, it feels safe and insulated from the outside. Naturally, in and out of the facility would be a hike and could be exhausting. Quiet and safe all over the resort ground. Golf carts were primary transportation for guests and staff. Ground was clean with lots of shades from trees and vegetations. Comfortable to walk about. Steep at places. Beach and main pool areas were well kept and supported by a super attentive crews. Spa was clean, organized with soft ambience. Staff was skilled and world class. Villas was well kept. While maintained yet signs of dating were showing. Lighting, air conditioning, and water flow/pressure were wonderful. There had been a few power interruptions during our stay. Limited access to the outside confined culinary experience. Eating at the 3 dining facilities was pretty much the only choices. My biggest disappointment was my misguided expectation in seafood quality. Considering Samui is surrounded by water. I falsely thought fresh, sweet seafood can be found in such paradise, not so. Lobster, tiger pawns, oysters, scallops, squids, and fishes, flavorless and overcooked. Stayed 9 nights to celebrate our 35th anniversary and a birthday. Anniversary dinner made at Saffron, no staff congratulated us, really?

Banyan Tree - The best !

First time at Banyan Tree & it was exceptional. Everything clean & beautifully presented. The staff were fantastic in their knowledge & friendliness whilst being totally professional. I shall certainly stay there again!

Little to fault here, very luxurious, spectacular service lovely.rooms. Restaurant offerings limited and the ipad menus very frustrating. Some very loud boorish groups , but thats a cultural thing and little hotel can do about it. I do wonder why they think its ok to shout and holler across such a traquil resort. Maybe some generic notices in the room written in certain languages may help

Simply amazing

Everything was top notch. The villa was very clean, staff extremely friendly (special shout out to Chan who did an amazing job), facilities amazing and food delicious. We enjoyed every second there.

The beach is not the best for swimming because it’s quite rocky and drops off quickly. The spa treatments are great. The pools and villas are beautiful. Really enjoyed the rain shower in the villa.

The property is nicely surrounded by nature. The place was very clean and well taken care off. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We and also our 10 year old daughter appreciated the following: the variety of programs at the kids club, the private pool, the buggy service, the food, the massages and the great view from the villa (hillcrest). If you are looking for a very special and relaxing experience than we recommend the hotel. Big thank you to all the staff - you did an amazing job👍

Life is better at Banyan

Beautiful property and amazing staff. My expectations were exceeded every day. Relaxing, clean, and comfortable.

It has been quite sometime since we had stayed at any of the Banyan Tree properties, however after staying at this particular one it sparked all the amazing memories from the past.

Gorgeous property surrounding a crystal clear inlet with few waves. Villa was spacious, clean, with top class amenities. Staff service was excellent throughout the experience. I loved that there were a plethora of marine activities that were free to for use throughout the day. Special experiences like the "floating breakfast" was well worth the cost. The only thing to note is that while the F&B is very good quality, it was not stunning compared to the overall quality of the property.

Check in was easy and great. They provided a welcome drink and snack. The staff was very friendly throughout the whole stay. The room was nice and clean. I really liked the room as it was kind of by itself up on the hill. Having the pool just outside the room was great and the hot tub was amazing, especially at night. The property was always being cleaned and the grounds were very clean also. Breakfast was good with the buffet, room service also made good food. Overall this was a great property and would go back

Wonderful place, we stayed at the Ocean View Villa, the Villa is in perfect condition, the combination of the private pool and the warm jet pool is superb. Restaurant in the higher standard, SPA was a bit expensive but the staff is professional and kind. we would love to come again

Great but

Some of the rooms are not enjoying the sun so the private pool is useless because the water are very cold. The rooms are very big, pleasent, and very clean. The bed is great. No privacy anywere in the room.

Superb experience in this luxurous hotel. Amazing stay in the luxurious rooms with an amazing view to the sea. Rooms are very clean, the service of the hotel was spectacular. Negative points: check in is too long (aprox. 10-15min), you also have to do a quite long online check in online so at the end you spend double time than necessary. The rest was just spectacular.

If you are looking to be pampered, treated like royalty in serene and spectacular surrounds, luxurious villa and incredible spa and dining experiences look no further than Banyan Tree Samui ! The friendly staff and attention to detail are beyond compare. Other than heading to Fisherman’s Village for an afternoon of JetSki, markets and dining one evening, we did not need to leave the Banyan Tree. It was our honeymoon and we spent 5 nights. We did the private dining on the beach followed by a rose petal bath which was amazing. We also dined at Saffron which is their premium Thai restaurant which was an incredible dining experience - amazing service, food and view! We also enjoyed dining at the Sands one night which is their casual restaurant and they had good live music and a fantastic fire show. We loved laying by the private beach and sipping cocktails and snorkeling. The water was warm and still and beautiful to swim in. The buffet breakfasts are also awesome! I had a 90 minute massage at the Spa which was brilliant and my husband did the rainforest experience at the Spa which he loved and was perfect for him given he doesn’t like massages. We consider ourselves hard to please but this place really lived up to its reputation. While we did see a few kids it’s not really somewhere I would take my own children - it’s somewhere ideal for quiet adult time. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I managed to find some child free time to recharge the batteries.

Great staff, wonderful room and super clean and inviting

Banyan Tree Samui is just perfect. We spent a week resting, eating delicious food, swimming, kayaking, all that in an exceptionally beautiful environment. Our villa was large, clean, comfortable, with a great private pool. The staff at Banyan Tree Samui are the best!

From when I arrived until my departure date, I was catered to and taken well care of. I made the trip for my birthday and staying at the Banyan Tree was the best decision I could’ve made. It is a truly luxurious resort and they made me feel extra special on my birthday and throughout the trip. Their staff is super friendly, knowledgeable about the area and just a pleasure to be around. My villa concierge was Moss and he was exceptional. If I needed anything he was available and there to help me. Very friendly and personable as well. The food was amazing as were the drinks, the spa services were top notch, the beach was gorgeous even though the weather was a little spotty throughout the week. The buggies to get you around the property were well driven and came within minutes of you calling for them. I have never had a resort experience quite like this one and I would recommend this property to anyone that wants to celebrate a special day or just get away and relax. I can’t forget to mention the special treats that I received throughout my stay. From desserts to commemorative pens and mouse pads and even a commemorative turtle. Oh, I can’t forget the birthday cake and birthday waffles that I received on my birthday! This was a trip to remember and staying at this resort really brought it all together. I can’t recommend them enough. I had an amazing time!

Koh Samui Paradise

Absolutely amazing experience, Julie our PA couldn’t of been more helpful. All needs were taken care of in the most timely manner, the food in all the restaurants was 5star, all fresh ingredients and the presentation was exquisite, our stay in a royal villa had a breathtaking view of the ocean, I recommend this hotel to anybody who enjoys some luxury relaxation

Blissful relaxing stay highly recommended

Beautiful location and beautiful pool villa. The service and staff was amazing. The villa pools have definite privacy, are well kept, choice of fragrant oils and linen is a smooth touch. Yummy welcome and departing drinks, good coffee and cappuccino collection though water kettle could be better. They provide morning shuttle to Lamai, and Chewang. Afternoon shuttle goed to Chewang. Beautiful beaches, blissful stay.i felt absolutely relaxed and spoiled.If you can't climb stairs or have joint issues, i would recommend informing them beforehand as some villas got stairs. Buggy is provided as soon as requested. My villa host was Dao.They checked me in and couldn't have been more attentive. Turndown service was fantastic. I would love to stay in other Banyan tree resorts after this fabulous experience.At airport, just grab a airport cab or van to reach the hotel easily.

Rooms are great but overall experience leaves a bit to be desired. Service is adequate but not great. Food decidedly average, especially breakfast. Beach facilities a bit tired.

It was an amazing resort and we had a fabulous time. Our Villa was stunning. Loved the pool and all of the architectural and interior detailing throughout. Just beautiful.

Review of stay at Banyan Tree Samui

The hotel was great as always, although the property was old it was upkept very well. Downside is that there was no in villa blue tooth speaker system so one needs to bring his or her own blue tooth speaker if you want to listen to music at night. More towels could be provided but its not an issue as you can always request for more. Hot water for the tub seems to cap out after a full fill of the tub for some reason maybe due to the amount of hot water available in the villa water storage tank or something so there's a limit to the hot water for baths. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable trip.

All in all a great experience at Banyan Tree Samui. Would have been perfect if not for the following: 1. Nothing much to do in the local area, market was quite disappointing. 2. Got the feeling I was being ripped off every time I wanted to purchase food/drinks/ services from the resort. A can of Chang beer cost 250bht in the minibar, you can buy a pack of 4 for 140bht at the minimart 10mins away. It would make guests’ experience a lot more enjoyable if the resort provided for all these, esp since the rooms were already so expensive. Also though the resort should provide for airport transfers, and arrange for meet and greet services at the airport, like all good luxury hotels do. 3. While the staff were all very attentive and quick to respond to our needs, I find the final finer touches were still not as good as the very best resorts/hotels we’ve stayed in. Overall an 8/10.

Went there with my family (2 adults and 1 kid). My room was the Ocean View Pull Villa. Love and enjoy the quietness and privacy. Though, the view of the ocean was not really panoramic which I did not realize that before I made the reservation. Will try other room next time. I like that the hotel assigns a concierge specifically for each room. Mine was Mr. Patrick. He was extremely helpful. He arranged the check out time for us at 16.00 to match which out flight time back to Bangkok. Thank you so much Patrick for all your helps (I didn't have a chance to meet him when I checked out!.)

Great view, private with large spacious rooms. Pool service was slow and required prompting.

Perfect stay. The villas are beautiful and the views are stunning! Friendly and accommodating staff.

The property is so peaceful, you feel very pampered. The resort is small in size but has a large property so everywhere we went felt private. The beach was never crowded and each time we went to the pool we were the only ones there. They are very eco friendly and in the jungle so we would find a lone ant in our room every other day but other than that everything was absolute perfection.

As soon as you reach the property entrance do you realize how massive this place is! It's absolutely huge and serene with everything you could look for. Our villa host (View) was extremely helpful and attentive to any question/concern we may have had. This place is absolutely beautiful and green. The view that the hotel offers is stunning and picturesque. The entire staff were a pleasure and very kind throughout our stay.

That staff was very courteous. The commute to the room was tedious though. Service was good.

Private

Hotel was very nice as was the team. Given the rainy season, they did not have enough staff to drive the buggy's around the resort so we waited 30 minutes at times to get a buggy. Then, 2 of the buggy's could not get up the hill because they were without sufficient power. The food and beverage was average and for a $750/night low season resort, food was below par. Food ran out on Saturday and Sunday in chafing dishes at breakfast, and we had to point out to the staff as such. Villa Host was going to help us plan our day over breakfast but never showed and then we had to call to get his assistance about 1 hour later. Overall, for $1,500 for two night's stay, it was well overpriced and did not receive the service commensurate with the cost.

Great place to relax in luxurious accommodations. The private villa pool was the very best. We enjoyed this amenity above all else however the spa, restaurants, and personnel were all amazing too. Great value for the dollar. The beach was not as nice as we had hoped for but nice to look at. We stayed for 4 days and were ready for the next leg of our travels but fully enjoyed the time there.

Amazing Stay in Paradise

Went with a good friend to celebrate our 50th birthdays and rented a hillside pool villa. Everything was perfect during our stay...the check-in process was very special and Khun View took care of us from the moment we arrived. Our view was simply amazing and we spent a lot of time just in our villa and pool enjoying the views, the sunrise, the sunshine. We also went down to the beach several times...it's a great private cove and there is a lot to do there - paddleboarding, sailing a catamaran, snorkeling, kayaking, or just lazing in the sun with a cool drink. We took a Muay Thai boxing class one day, which is great fun and a good workout. Every morning after a jog in the gym we lazed at the breakfast table and read and ate delicious food (especially the coconut yoghurt and the eggs menus - delicious). We rented motorbikes and rode around the island, visited foot massage spas, went indoor skydiving, and just all-around had a fun, relaxing and memorable experience. The hotel had gifts for us several nights, as well as a birthday cake and other surprises. Unforgettable!

Amazing view

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Banyan tree in early January. We stayed in the hill crest horizon villa, I05 which had a breath taking view of the ocean, beach and the hill side. The staff is courteous, pleasant and extremely helpful. The food was wonderful. We would definitely stay again.

Amazing resort which is very well run

They are hard to fault. The room was incredible, staff beyond reproach and food was brilliant if a little pricey. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes for the buggy but it was hardly an inconvenience. Other times the buggy would arrive within 90 seconds of making the call or one is outside the spa or restaurant ready to go. If you are looking for a quality five star resort with a great private beach, this should be on your list. Villas vary with their view and privacy levels so make sure that you put in a request for what you want (afternoon sun, best view, privacy, etc). There is not much around the resort (you can walk to neighboring resorts such as Silavadee) for their better value spa and restaurant facilities but there is not much else within walking distance. That being said, if you are going to Banyan Tree to spend most of your time outside the resort you have the wrong idea.

Excellent hotel with beautiful view

We had a wonderful time in the family villa with ocean view. The service was exceptional. We missed out on the beach barbecue because of high winds but otherwise had a great time. Ask for Patrick for your villa host!

Beautiful hotel on beach. Really big

We’ve been all over the world and this was hands down the best service I’ve ever had. Or host Amy was amazing. A truelly great place, good food, nice private beach and amazing staff all around.

Very good hotel with relaxing environment

Definitely a great quality hotel which is very spacious, clean and located in a relaxing & beautiful environment next to the private beach and definitely wonderful view from your room. The breakfast have plenty of food to choose from. We tried the spa which is one of the best but very pricey. The food at the hotel restaurants are quite expensive , we tried other restaurant they offer better food. The hotel provides free shuttle to the town centre, you have more choices out there.

Amazing hotel - luxurious villa with private pool

Our stay at the Banyan Tree was enjoyable. Loved the luxurious villa accommodation with the private pool. Would have been nice to have an ocean view though. All villas are very private and you do not see or hear your neighbours. The buggy pick up was very efficient and we never waited longer than 15 minutes. I would imagine that during peak season one would have a longer wait time. Our host Amy was so hard working and always available. She arranged a taxi to drive us around the island at very short notice. Breakfast choice was extensive - and staff very efficient. The Chef at the Sand Restaurant was fantastic - we ate all our meals there, as we liked the location right on the beach and it was more casual. Every meal we had was excellent and very tasty. The drinks were a little pricey. The spa was very disappointing as they offer a "free" Rain Forest treatment but then cut out one of the key treatments once we were there, plus making the two of us use the different stations together where clearly it should have been one at a time to get the benefit of the treatment. They clearly want to upsell their services - so this was disappointing as it cheapened the whole experience.

Absolute luxury

Our stay at Banyan Tree was an absolute dream. The property, villas and beach were perfect and the staff made each moment pleasant and easy. On top of the breathtaking resort, the little extras made this holiday feel completely pampered. Timely buggy rides to/from our villa, a daily selection of fresh fruits replenished, a nice handbag to use while we were there and the smiles. THE SMILES and greetings from every-single staff member was what made everyday bright and sunny! We have two kids who were treated very well, including high quality kids-club activities. All around, the trip was 5 stars and I would absolutely return!! Loved the trip and LOVED Amy, our villa personal attendant. She was wonderful!

Overall would say the banyan tree is the best hotel we have been in. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Service was exceptional 99% of the time. Will only say as a negative, the destination dinner on the beach was not good value for what you get. The food was good but not excellent, service could be better.

Best hotel stay ever!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Banyan Tree Samui for 4 nights. This was by far the best hotel experience we've ever had. The private beach was amazing and the complimentary snorkeling equipment, paddle boards, and sea kayaks made it a perfect experience. But in essence, it is the always friendly and service minded staff that truly makes this resort exceptional. Will definitely come back again.

This place is out of this world! Heaven on earth..

We stayed at many places but this was was just a dream place to be... The villas are really big and the swimming pools at each villa are huge! We stayed for 8 nights and interaction with every single person from the hotel was truly amazing. It was visible they want to take every possible step to make our stay memorable. This is for sure one of the top places we have ever been! The general manager was very approachable and was regularly helping his peer - for example collecting dishes during breakfast - very impressive!!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

This is a fabulous resort hotel . The room was amazing , incredibly spacious and impeccably appointed. We stayed in the lowest grade villa which was the same in almost every respect to all others in the resort , differentiated only by the view and orientation . Our room was an "A villa" , conveniently close to reception and breakfast enjoying the afternoon sun whereas those on the opposite hillside enjoy sun until early afternoon . The beach was immaculate , with a great team on hand to settle you in and keep the iced water flowing > there are plenty of free water-sports , football, table tennis even an outdoor pool table to keep the less passive entertained . The food was excellent if somewhat limited in scope , there was still plenty enough choice for Lunch and Dinner to satisfy over the long weekend . Breakfast is included in the room rate and has a huge variety of delicious options . In all I would heartily recommend this hotel ......I am already booking a friend to visit next month !

Don't trust the pictures

Rooms are nice. The pools are nice. My big issue is that you cannot trust the views you pay for are what you are going to get. We paid for full ocean view and only had a partial ocean view at best. Even when they switched our room (the next day BTW) our view was still poor. We could only see the ocean if we were at a certain angle on our balcony or shower. The spa is great. The beach is nice.

Exceptional service standard

Expedia badges the hotel as 'VIP'. It definitely is. Nothing was impossible to organise or too much trouble. Staff polite, friendly and ready to engage. Every attention to detail given. Definitely a well managed hotel in a superb location.

Very comfortable

WE really like Banyan Tree Resorts, WE had been to Mayakoba also. But the sea, WE didn't like that much.

Very accommodating and nice resort

The resort is one of the best at Koh Samui. It's secluded and staff are helpful and friendly. The room was clean, the only negative I would say is the bed sheets used - they only use a flat sheet for the mattress instead of fitted then flat to cover between you and the duvet. The shower stall also had a weird smell, otherwise it was a great place to stay. Mario was our host, he let us check in early and check out late which was so helpful because we had a late flight back home. He also arranged for buggy and taxi to the airport without us asking. Excellent service! Thank you Mario!

5 star all the way

This hotel was AMAZING! The staff were always so willing to assist in anyways they could without hesitation. The villa was always spotless, comfortable and have been well designed to take advantage of the beautiful views.

Wonderful Villas, Disappointing Grounds

The villas are wonderfully appointed and well laid out. You'll love how picturesque everything seems through the bright and airy windows that peer into the cove. The only disappointment is really the rest of the resort. The grounds are unkempt and the architecture and maintenance uninspiring. Come here for the villas and the wonderful views and try to ignore the rest.

Great experience

From arrival to departure, the Banyan Tree Samui team has given us a wonderful experience. We were really spoiled by the staff there. There were slight miscommunication between the Villa Host and spa teams, but all sorted out very quickly and professionally. We will definitely stay at the Banyan Tree Samui if we visit Koh Samui again later.

Many years, Banyan tree always look after us well. Extremely helpful staff, always make us feel welcomed. Great facilities. Mom and me enjoyed the yoga class. Dad enjoyed the beautiful beach. Thank you, banyan tree, gave us a wonderful quite family time.

Paradise found

The whole package. Elegance, beauty, fantastic service and unadulterated luxury. Villas are ample and stunning. Staff anticicapates needs. One small gripe is that the beach is overstaffed while the pool, at times, had not a single staff member there. Also would have liked a better upfront description of all the offerings.,.we only learned about the bird watching tour too late. But these are small issues compared to the impecable quality to be found here.

Service was almost impeccable and they paid attention to little details to make guest feel pampered and well taken care of. We had a great stay and we will be staying in more of banyan tree hotels in time to come. Love it.

Worst gettaway I could get

Being a 5 stars hotel is able to allow your guest to feel like home during the stay, however, it was a big disappointment during my stay in Bayan Tree Koh Samui. First, concierge are unwilling to assist or offer other alternative solutions for our excursion needs. Second, upon check out my villa host asked for the thermometer I borrowed from the hotel instead of offering any additional medical help. Third, my villa host asked for the mailing fees for my 2 postcards. I am a frequent traveler for both business and leisure but I have to say this was one of the worst hotel experience I have ever had not even mentioning that was my honeymoon with my wife.

Not for young families

great service and staff all go out of the way. However the villa they gave us was totally inappropriate given it looked into nothing expect dense vegetation and a shall pool of brown water: perfect for mosquitos and less than remotely ideal for humans esp those travelling with 2 young children as we were! Avoid C3 at all costs. Also villa itself quite small with almost no storage space and given the mosquito scene all related outdoor space was basically unusable incl the pool. Great resort in every other aspect. One further word of caution: Samui is far from being paradise lost. Quite dingy and at times down right dirty!

Very nice hotel

The beach is private but it's not really white sand and large. The hotel and it's staff are very good and overall it's was a great experience to stay at banyan tree. Pricey for all activities and food but then it's a first class all the way. I am a returning customer to banyan tree worldwide and they treat that in importance.
