Never book there. I booked there, took a flight to enjoy my reservation, and once there, I was told by a security guard that the hotel is closed since a month for renovations. They did not want to assist us for anything, and we ended up at another hotel (Neptune Beach Resort). At the second hotel, we talked with other clients there and some of them knew the Bamburi Hotel and they told us they only experienced bad things with Bamburi Hotel too. Never book there, that's my advice. They will steal from you and never communicate with you if there's an issue like closing, delay, etc.

Customer service was excellent. All members of staff really looked after us (family) and made us feel right at home.

Tired property but comfortable

Robert, Emma, Ann are just some of the names I remember. The staff were really helpful and thoughtful! I didn’t feel alone as a solo traveller and they weren’t overwhelming either. There were some works going on and the room was tired looking. But I was mainly in the beautiful surroundings which the staff maintained beautifully. The security staff made me feel safe as they were visibly yet friendly. Some of the equipment in my room didn’t work and the balcony doors didn’t lock but I felt comfortable enough. The food was a good variety and not consistently good but there were many choices and restaurants too. I loved the quiet pool and the beach area lounge. I enjoyed my stay overall and will love to come back. Ps the massage therapists next door were great! I had three sessions during my stay, affordable too!

The rooms screaming renovation. Its a shame that the bathroom dont fill up with water fast enough takes all day after a flash.Thats embarrassing! when you ask they say they just fixed the tank the water will run just fine which wont . And its all the toilets in the hotel.The rest of the building is ok just toilets water system and rooms

An old rustic hotel that needs new beds and bathroom fixtures...but the staff is world class, the food is very good, and those two things alone make t it worth the stay.

Excellent location overall good facilities very good entertainment. An older property and the rooms reflect this but are very well maintained. No tv shows available YouTube only and most of the time it wouldn't connect.

The staff were excellent and very attentive, always going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. In particular Erik and Daisy. Also, Anifah who was always happy and pleasant, when we checked out at 10am she gave us an extra room to shower in after we used the pool facilities as our flight wasn’t until later in the day she also made sure we were still able to have lunch after checking out. Something i would recommend is to create a bigger outside bar and also add more alcoholic drinks to the all inclusive cocktail menu. Also the food was very nice and varied every day however, i think more effort should be made to properly cover some food items as they were often swarmed with flies, for example the desserts and fruits. The rooms were cleaned to the highest of standards every morning and the cleaners never failed to say good morning. I would also recommend riziki the hotels taxi driver to anyone needing to travel outside the resort area, he was very friendly and informative.

Excellent and very friendly staff however facilities in urgent need of an upgrade and some TLC.. Moved rooms twice because AC was not working and 3rd room still had a fault.. But great staff!!

Air conditioner not functional in such hot weather, nights were nbearable.Cold water from the shower came as a tiny trickle throughout. Towels in Swimming area were few and could not meet the demand. Not value for money was my take

Had a fab stay at Bamburi beach hotel, staff were amazing. Great value for money, only downside was the gym not open.

It's obviously a slightly older property, so an upgrade would be welcome. But it was incredibly good value for money. The pools, the meals, the staff were all quite good, and I enjoyed my time there.

Terrible customer service and dated facilities. Will lie straight to your face including the worthless manager. Hot water either will not work or burns you up. Refrigerator will not work. A/C is not adjustable and doesnt work well.

Some people at the reception can arrange everything and help with everything, while others you don't even want to. Restaurant service excellent. The property is several dozen years old and probably has never been renovated, many things require improvement, repair or replacement

We loved the view of the ocean and that the property was right close to the beach. We found the staff hardworking & very friendly. The daily buffets had delicious food in great variety. It was hard to decide what to choose and it was well presented. We had the all-inclusive package and found it well worth it. If one didn’t feel like the buffet you could order from a smaller poolside coffee shop. Everyday you could see workers cleaning and fixing. There was nightly entertainment. Daily activities by the pool. We enjoyed the water volleyball. Security was excellent. We will definitely go again and would recommend this hotel.

Great service, terrible facilities

The staff was very nice, but the facilities were not great. We had to be moved from the first room because the air conditioning wouldn't work and the TV was malfunctioning. In the new room we went the last two days without any water.

I loved my 3 day stay. It was my second time there and i wasn't disappointed. Customer care was great, rooms were clean, food and drinks were also good. Will definitely be back soon.

Excellent service but hotel looked tired need a revamping

We initially ordered a room with two twin beds expecting to get just that but got one twin bad and a tiny kids bed. The hotel is really outdated, and lots of flies. The toiles are the worst, most of them don't flush well because they need to be replaced. This hotel is definitely not a three star hotel according to the real standards.

This property is old, when we got to the room the towels were not even white but something like brown, they were old stained and torn. The kitchen was in worse state. After they cooked, they never cleaned the pots and pans were left there, the grill and the stove was full of grease. The table were as their guests left them after eating. I will not recommend this hotel.

Hotel is very run down and outdated Lots of mosquitoes in the room, They give juices for free but charge a fortune for water There is no water in the shower. The bathroom stinks really bad Bed sheets smell Please don’t stay at this hotel … please Thanks

The housekeeping staff wasn't very clean the bathroom will still dirty with the ring around the tub from the previous use and the sink did not appear to be wiped down nor did the seem to be mopped.

There was leakage is the room and in the restaurant. The activities of the animation during the day were poor. The food and drinks were fine.

Charming and friendly

Slightly run down but charming hotel by the beach. Genuine and friendly staff. Good and varied buffé though verk busy during peak. Good choice of local drinks but could make drinking water more available. Local beach business are friendly but perstistant.

I loved everything about this hotel. The staff are exceptional, it is clean, the food is out of this world, its a great location, it offers additional services such as beauty salon, security is great and staff go out of their way to make sure things are ok.

I was there in 2008 and then in July 2019, I felt the grounds were much cleaner and the food much better this time. I was very happy with my stay. We had three rooms on full board and the cleanliness was good. The staff were very happy and helpful. I highly recommend and will book again when I return.

Skip the all inclusive

Staff was friendly but unlike true all inclusive resorts food is limited to certain times of day and drinks are limited to a certain list. For what I paid I would stay at a regular non all inclusive and spend the difference for good quality food and drinks. Ice wasn’t available at first. Bar was not always staffed and there was no poolside service.

Excellent Hotel.

The service and friendliness of the staff was amazing. The food was comparable or even better than a cruise ship. There are so many things to do I would have loved to stay longer. It is a beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach.

It is a all inclusive 3 star hotel the food whilst a little simple is freshly cooked each day. Like most inclusives the food can get a bit repative by the end of two weeks. But don't worry there are several local restaurants just for a change. The rooms are kept extremely clean and made up each day. For best results tip your regular staff at the beginning of your holiday they will appreciate it remember this is a poor country. The staff are helpful and friendly and nothing is to much trouble.

Great hotel, excellent staff. However I was very very disappointed with the local bear they serve on draught... it was water down and flat! If you wanted the same brand in bottles you’ll have to pay extortionate price! Spirits were house brand as Euro brands are chargeable! Couldn’t complain about the food as it was lovely! But I wouldn’t recommend all inclusive if you’re a bear lover like myself, but if you’re a foodie, then thumbs up!

Excellent hotel next to the beach. Staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. This included, the Reception staff, Cleaners, Waiters, Chefs, Bar staff, Animation Team, Diving Team and General Maintenance. The hotel was very clean and the Buffet style food was amazing. The Manager was also very approachable, friendly and took pride of his hotel, staff and customers.

This property needs a complete refit and refurbishment. The shower was terrible. It's a lovely old hotel, but needs to be modernised.

My stay at Bamburi was very nice. The food was better than most of the places I had stayed at on the coast. I was on holiday for 6 weeks. I stayed at 7 different hotels. I would recommend to all the places I stayed at except Swahili beach resort to not serve their guests the terrible coffee they are serving. Do not cut corners on your food.

Disappointing Experience.

Hotel needs to find a way to control the flies in all dining areas and roaches in the rooms. Very few staff were friendly and happy. The staff seemed stressed. All inclusive options are very limited. Reef and Voyager have waybetter options. I would like to commend and thank Lucky, Joel and Kazungu, Wambua, Mwatela, Jotham, The Head Night Chef for their exemplary service.

Nice pool and that's about it

Stayed for two nights, the hotel is old. The shower was pathetic and the hotel needs major renovation. There is no lift so climbing to the 4th floor multiple times was rather tiring. The plus is that it's on the beach and we got a late checkout.

A private get-away on a budget

It was fun, affordable, cozy and cute! The pool was amazing. The food was great. The service and nice and the activities were interesting.

Very rigid and un-understanding staff. Had to pay extra for services not utilized. They were too much money minded to focus on any actual customer service. The doors could also use an uplift.

Overall ok hotel, little things let it down.

Good selection of activities available. Hotel staff very friendly. Good food selection. Things that let it down: salty water in taps- causes problems when brushing teeth and washing hair. Taps in shower very stiff and don't work properly- water either too hot/cold. Kettle in room overheats and does not automatically switch off which causes burns when when you turn it off. Only 1 extra plug socket. Diet coke/soda not included in inclusive board. Have to pay to use safe in your room £1200 kes.

Value hotel close to a lot of fun places!

Decent hotel. All-inclusive value for alcohol isn't worth it, however, as all of the liquor is local Kenyan brands which is cheap liquor. Compared to previous stays at Bamburi, this one wasn't all that good as most of the hotel staff weren't smiling and approachable. Only a handful were really nice and friendly. The rooms still need renovation as they are quite outdated with the door locks as well as the tv's. Wifi connectivity wasn't too strong in our room either. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. Lunch and dinner options didn't vary much from day to day, so we ended up eating outside at other nearby restaurants a few times. I would still recommend this hotel if you are looking for a budget-friendly hotel with activities within walking distance on the beach.

Meeting different people, and eating together as one family that was the most wonderful thing that happen during my visit. I liked the hotel and I had a glorious moment there! Especially when it comes to entertainment.

Bamburi Beach Hotel Valentines day visit

Been to the hotel before a while ago so thought try it again. Have to say service has improved to the last visit and staff was very help full. We stayed 2 days and our flight was in the late evening after we were allowed to stay on the premises and given also a room to change before traveling. Food and service is good as said before the only thing was that room services tried to clean the room from 7am in the morning well knowing that the door was locked they kept on knocking the door disturbing our sleep

Disappointment

The hotel it's self was alright. I found the receptionist not to be welcoming as she was on her personal phone when we arrived and didn't make an effort to welcome us or explain anything and later on was negative in answering any questions asked. One good thing was the acrobats show ... They were amazing but then again we were never inform of there performance it just happens that we happend to walk by

Old

Very old resort, not well maintained, electricity and wifi not properly working, food horrible. Beaches full of drunk sailormen harrassing at night. Guests in the mid 70's... Not really recommandable for anything..

A beautiful get away

Everyone is at service to make sure you are comfortable. The hotel is well situated near shopping malls with easy public transport as well as beautiful beach walks.
