It was the perfect place for a getaway. Everything was taken care of and the staff is wonderful!
Great resort, we will be back
Experience was good!
Great vacation spot. staff is friendly, food is good and lot of choices. Rooms are clean. Easy access to pool and beach. Highly recommend
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return. Everything is clean and a very nice experience.
The entertainment staff worked hard to connect with the clients. Lovely people.
I stayed at the Ambar Beautiful resort, room Beautiful, pools Beautiful. I wish the swim up pools were heated. The only issue was that the staff didnt know what was going on. Everyone gave you a different answer. Front desk should be on the same page with information. But amazing place to stay.
Everything was perfect and this is our second stay.
The hotel was clean and kept up properly. The service staff was polite and helpful. The food was just ok. The pool area was crowded
Exactly what you expect and hope for. Nothing too fancy, but everything is done well enough to enjoy yourself. Would come again to see our friends and the cats.
OK
Worst service ever.
Very nice resort with great food and fabulous beach. All ruined by the worst service ever. All staff were rude, arrogant, and lacked proper training/manners.
We had great experience and will be going back for sure. The property is large and has a wonderful and clean beach. We loved the a la carte restaurants and even the buffet was great with so much food variety. Guest service was perfect. We had many people helping us with all of our needs. Special thanks to Maria, Isael, Onade, Adriel from Guest experience. Everyone made our stay unforgettable and we'll be back for sure!
Fun
Awesome resort
Property is well kept , options to choose from for dining. Great activites. Beautiful pool area !! beach was amazing!!
Great experience
Had great restaurants, Limbo was the best restaurant/cocktail bar I've experienced in Punta. While adult only, its quite and activities were okay. Not a resort to fly solo, unless you like being off in your own world.
Check in was horrible. We did not get the room we paid for. The room we were given was not clean & disgusting. Did not receive the bottle of spirits we were supposed to receive & the front desk persons English was poor. I finally gave up. We got the room we paid for. Was clean. Not enough GFI plugs to plug in phones & hairdryer. Food at buffet was excellent. Pool bar excellent. Entertainment was excellent. MEAT, Limbo & Portofino we're excellent. Dress code is not enforced at restaurants. Takara was disgusting. Sports bar came in handy when food wasn't great. Do not use their transfer service. Difficult to find at airport & then they want you to keep checking back for your time. Day of, no instructions on what to look for. Then we were dropped off at the wrong terminal. All in all had a nice time, details were missed.
The Luxury Ambar is an amazing facility. Perfect for adults. We felt very safe and never had to leave the resort for anything. All the Bahia Principe resorts were on the same compound which was all gated. It was perfect.
Coffee Coffee guy has my heart
Need mosquito control and the food could be better at the buffet
We were visiting Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar for my husband’s 50th birthday. The resort itself was beautiful, however majority of the staff were prejudice against African Americans. We were ignored and practically overlooked on several occasions by the staff. We went to the Sports Bar on Sunday, 1/26, to watch the football finals, and literally had to sit there and watch everyone around us get served. People sitting right next to us and we were never asked what we would like. We had to literally flag a server down to place an order. We asked her why they were overlooking us and she just shrugged her shoulders and smiled. This was very disheartening. I have never experienced racism until I visited this resort. I was so disappointed with the amount of money we had paid. They didn’t even offer us any of the VIP amenities. I tried to get a reservation for my husband’s birthday and was told they only had 10pm available. We were not offered anything different or even offered the banners they were putting on the doors for people celebrating birthdays and anniversary. I would like to thank Maria. Also Santa and Aquilino at the Italian restaurant were amazing. We did not have reservations, however they allowed us to sit at the bar and celebrate my husband’s birthday. I will never recommend or return back to this resort. The staff really need to be taught that everyone is equal.
Great place, very friendly staff, good food, good drinks and great beach!!
Bahia Principe was nice overall. The drinks were strong, you wouldn’t know that there were resorts that would allow kids just next door. It was difficult to find restaurants at times. We missed a reservation because we couldn’t find the one restaurant and the apps map really isn’t great. The staff was very friendly. The beach was kind of crowded. You have to be sure to put down your towels at the beach or at the pool if you want a decent seat. The bartenders were great and poured the drinks very strong. I will say that simply due to the climate, everything felt muggy. Everything felt wet in our room. All of our clothes just felt damp from being in the room due to the humidity. Overall, if you want a nice easy vacation, this is the place to go. If you are looking for luxury and quiet (something like a Sandals resort) this is probably not for you.
Luxury is in the name but I would not consider it a luxury resort. Food was ok, nothing to rave about with exception for the Mongolian restaurant on the Esmeralda property (that was excellent). Spa services/prices were satisfactory however spa is small and simple, not luxurious. The best part was the entertainment staff, there was plenty of activities to do. The worst part is the sand fleas which limited enjoyment of the beach (used deet spray and still got a significant amount of bites). If I could find a solid bug repellent I'd consider going back to this property (Been to other properties in Punta Cana without the sand flea problem).
Overall the property, pool, rooms and entertainment was not bad. The App was a little clumsy sometimes to navigate around but again not bad The food and drinks were below average drinks were watered down and not the brand they said. Food was overcooked and left you not satisfied. For being labeled as a luxury resort I would most likely stayed and the lower tiered property and paid less knowing what I know now
Good: gorgeous beach, plenty of lounge chairs, friendly staff, really fun dancing and parties at night Bad: we had two pool rooms and one smelled heavily of mold/mildew. They brought a dehumidifier, but it didn’t do anything. Room service was very slow or didn’t happen
The waitress Leidy in the main lobby was friendly and attentive. She took care of us like family. The grounds were clean.
The all inclusive service was amazing! Super nice and pleasant people and servers.
The Bahia Principe Ambar is an amazing property with an outstanding staff. The problems we did encounter were handle graciously by management. The property is beautiful and they are constantly working on it. The following staff members should be commended for their efforts in ensuring our stay: Edwin - Concierge Ñoño - Buffet Waiter Exceptional Antonio - meet at entryway and handles entry and departures Marlene - waitress Bianca - waitress Estella - Concierge Adriel - Manager Yeimy- Entertainment staff @ pool Juan Carlos - Concierge Supervisor Chef Cristian - made special picante sauce Confesor - bartender Karina - waiter staff Yanet- Room staff (responsible for room). If you are looking for an adult property that will always work for the benefit of the customer than Bahia Pricipe Ambar is the perfect location.
The property was beautiful. The pool and beach were great. They were also in close proximity which meant you didn't have to really choose what to do in a day; you could do both! Service was often very slow. There is poolside service, but I think through the whole day, they came around twice at most. The food was average, to be expected at an all inclusive resort. I recommend making reservations at restaurants to vary the food options. I was surprised by how little English the staff spoke. I am fluent in Spanish and do not expect to speak anything other than Spanish in a Spanish-speaking country. However, I was surprised with how few employees spoke English where the clientele is primarily English-speaking. Overall, very relaxing stay. Majority of the restaurants were good and the buffet was average, if not slightly above-average. I would say this is your standard all-inclusive.
Wonderful . The food at the buffets wasn’t good. Overcooked but A la Carte restaurants were good. Terrible wine
Maid service-Angela #1 Waiter service-Jesus@MEATS #1 Lobby Bar-Starling #1 2nd time to this resort. Highly recommend!
We stayed for a week with friends. Food: The buffet had a variety of options, but the same items appeared daily, and some dishes lacked seasoning, were overcooked, or didn’t seem fresh. The restaurants offered more variety, though quality was hit or miss. I wouldn’t recommend the Mikado Teppanyaki restaurant—it was a disappointing experience. Service and Hospitality: Staff were generally kind, but some lacked enthusiasm or didn’t follow through with requests. However, the entertainment team was fantastic and gave their all. Rooms: The rooms were mostly clean but showed some wear and tear. The AC was strong, which I didn’t mind, but my husband found it uncomfortable. Exterior: The beach and main pool were beautiful, though finding seats could take time due to people reserving them. The resort was pleasant to walk around, and visiting nearby resorts was a nice perk. The golf cart transport could be confusing, but walking was also an option. Overall, my group and I had a great time and enjoyed the relaxing vibe of the resort. I’d consider going back if they upgraded the rooms, improved the food, and polished the space a bit. Be aware of mosquitoes and cockroaches (if visiting the Grand resort), and bring your own bandana and shades for ATV excursions—the prices for those items are ridiculous.
Good entertainment. Good food variety. I would like to see it a bit more clean. There were a few cockroaches spotted in the buffet
Staff was excellent, food was best I have had at an all-inclusive
Resort didn't honor the Expedia VIP $755 room charge credit. It was noted and acknowledged at check in, but at check out I was told that none of our room charges were eligible for the credit.
Overall a nice place to relax.
Amazing resort. Highly recommend. One of the best vacations we have had. The employees were very friendly and the entertainment staff made the stay even more enjoyable. We had one rainy day during our stay and they didn’t leave us bored. Although we couldn’t go to the beach the entertainment staff occupied the guests with all sorts of games and music programs. There are many great food options at the buffet. We tried several of the restaurants at the resort and I would recommend only going to the ones in Ambar and Esmeralda.
Everything was great, our concierge Estela gave us a wonderful service, food was very good quality and delicious in general it was awesome. The room was marvelous.
Excellent hotel, huge in size, with other sister properties and their restaurants and other facilities within easy reach. Room was big and clean and comfortable, the air conditioning was a bit of a problem to control. Food was great, lots of options for cuisine. But the Coffee Shop had the best coffee. The pool was great too - pity they close at 6pm. They should consider keeping it open till 9pm. The gym was great too. But the phone customer service was pathetic, tried calling them from New York before our trip began, most of the time, was being transferred around, without clear answers. The house-keeping services could have been better. And we asked for connecting rooms with family. They could not accommodate at all.
Great
Great stay! Something for everyone. Likely because it was rainy, our little pool outside patio was not the cleanest. Very friendly and helpful staff.
LOVE THIS HOTEL. Second time back! Never disappoints.
Nice place with a very nice beach and pool. One thing we struggled with being vegetarians was food. Number of options available for breakfast, but at lunch and dinner the options were severely limited. Al la Carte restaurants could would benefit from better representation or training from the cooks versed with Indian, Chinese, Japanese or other cuisines they represented.
Property is very nice, great beach, nice pool. Food is good not great but lots of Al la cart options. Hotel needs to pay attention to details, chips tables, paint where needed, and cleaning needs to be stepped up but nothing crazy. Overall a nice place to stay.
Good hotel for a relaxing vacation time. Rooms were big and comfortable and the staff was always available to help. Food in the buffet was great, and the restaurant options were good too. Staff could be more organized with the activities, we missed a few because they provided the wrong information about date/time or simply changed the date/time without letting guests know.
Had a Corner Swimout, the room and concierge was great.... piece of advice would be to disconnect the phone from the room as soon as you get there. I had front desk woke me up at 8:30AM asking if I liked the room...
The resort is clean food are good staff were very friendly specially Maria at the experience front desk was very professional and helpful
Overall excellent experience! Will be back!
Was not able to control an air conditioner.
Bahia Principe Luxury Amber was a wonderful vacation experience with great dining options, safe and fun environment, dedicated workers and management around any area of activity. We recommend and we, for sure, plan to revisit! Thank you
Friendly staff creating welcoming atmosphere, going extra mile. We had relaxing one of the best vacations, consistent with Ambar.
I enjoyed this All-Inclusive resort. This was the perfect destination for me and my family. The workers were all very nice and provided excellent service.
We very much enjoyed the restaurants (except Maiko due to the odor and upset stomach it caused my husband) and the massages from the spa (Naomi and Dhalisa were incredible). Our rooms were great and the room service staff was excellent - they were very friendly and attentive. We stayed in room 67217 and our front desk person on the ground level who helped us make all of our reservations was phenomenal. Unfortunately, did not get his name. However, the buffet was limited and the ordeal to find pool chairs/beach chairs was hectic. We did get into an argument over reserving pool all morning for people not to show up until the afternoon. They should really enforce some sort of rule around this because it made the experience of lounging quite stressful at times. Not the whole time, but for most, we felt as though the pool bar staff wasn’t as attentive and would sometimes ignore you - something we’ve never experienced at any of the other resorts we’ve been to. Overall, it was a good experience but we likely won’t be returning or recommending to others.
Honestly such an amazing property with amazing staff! I can’t say enough things about the hospitality of the staff.
We really enjoyed our time at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. The facilities and amenities are great, including offering daily events. The restaurants on site are good too with great staff and service (although the meals can be a bit slow). Beach and pool were well-kept. The rooms were not up to standard of a 5-star resort, but we really appreciated how timely and responsive housekeeping was and is. The food is also decent and what you'd expect at a resort, but not phenomenal.
Very good
Overall the experience was great! Lots of food options, loves the swim out room and entertainment. Things we didn’t like were people left their towels at the pool/beach so hard to get a chair. We feel like the staff should pick anything left each night and enforce a rule. That’s a big turn off for us. The beds were absolutely stiff as a board and not comfortable at all. Service, food, staff were very friendly and clean resort. Lots of food options!!!
The property was 10/10
Very good place for short vacation
Each building here has its own conceirge. We had the pleasure of having Candy as ours for most of the trip. She couldnt have made our trip any more special. The staff all around the resort were friendly and warm. A little hard to get a drink, suggest bringing your own larger cup to save trips to the bar. Also, the food was not the best but we did not go on vacation for the food, just dont expect an amazing dining experience.
Very rude staff upon check in. Zero assistance from staff gathering information on paid for excursion questions. The app is an absolute joke. Forced to make reservations for dinners with limited times available was inconvenient. The restaurants had less than average quality food, in fact they were horrible. The best place to eat was the main buffet but who wants to eat at a buffet all the time. Getting beach towels and returning them was a joke because of staff and computer issues. Getting any assistance from the concierge was impossible especially for luggage pickup and transportation because communication and teamwork between departments was non existent. The grounds and landscaping was beautiful and many staff were exceptional. No way will return because it is not a real 5 star experience. 3 stars at best.
Food was very good Do book the ala carte restaurants. Check in and out were smooth. Signing up for tennis, kayak, catamaran suited our needs. Issue with water pressure one morning. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Beds were terrible, mattresses had huge indentations from sleeping on the too long without being rotated. They were super hard also. The air conditioning it our room did not work hardly at all so be prepared to sweat a lot!
The staff was very welcoming. A great beach. Good food with good variety
Overall the Bahia Principe worth every penny expended, stuff very friendly.
Beautiful clean beach, walkable. Variety of dining options you can choose (some of the restaurants are part of other Bahia group resorts. Rooms are specious with modern look. Its villa so you don't get ocean view but we didn't stay in our rooms at all. Staff and service were amazing.
The personal at the buffet were very friendly and helpful specially Victor, Luisa, Ella, and Ñoño. Limbo restaurant Orlando, Franklin and el Chamo. Meats :Ambriorix, Santiago , Daniel and Jesus- Excelente! Last but not least the entertainment crew: spectacular. Hands up for Antonio, Chocolate, Wilson, Yimy, Nairoby, Kevin and Beyonce-Mauro love them ❤️. Front desk: Rafael, Iradia, Yudelkis. Yo volvere si , si
Over all a nice spot for a relaxing vacation.
Great stay
I absolutely loved this resort! The swim up suite is definitely worth the price! The whole resort is amazing and their staff is very entertaining and kind. The food was good specially the room service options. There were always activities through the whole day! And the beach here is amazing no words! Definitely worth it and I will be back!
The overall resort was good but there are many areas that needs improvement. It is not luxury by any means. The cleanliness was top notch however, the room we stayed in was old and they used paint to cover the ruggedness. The first time we entered the room, we were greeted by the strong scent of fresh paint. I reported it to the concierge but they never addresses the smell. Housekeeping was always there and available but at times it felt like they were invading our privacy. Our room did not have a DND tag but we ran into our housekeeper several times where we told her we didn't need cleanining and she questioned us about it. The food at the buffets, snack areas, and non-reservation places was terrible. The service was even worse. One time, we went to eat at a buffet by the beach and they stopped making pasta at the pasta station even though there were three hours left until they closed. They ran out of pizza and wouldn't make more because there weren't a lot of people eating at that time. The plastic cups they used at the snack areas were old, yellow, and dirty. The only good dining experiences we had were at the restaurant that required reservations. The food and service was excellent at those restaurants. Other than that, staff in all other areas were very nice and professional. Checking in and out was a breeze. Transportation was easily available through the main lobby. There were plenty of shops to buy souvenirs, alcohol, and anything you needed for the stay.
Ambar is Adults only, however I realized that anyone can use facility at Ambar. Ambar was lovely place to stay about 2 years ago, but now its run down and services is awful.
The staff and waterfront make this property great. I wish it were less crowded, including at the beach. We had a wonderful time.
Excellent
Me and my husband came here for our honeymoon and everything was excellent. We are already planning to come again in the upcoming year. Highly recommended
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar The Bahia Principe resort has 7 different hotels on one lot—it is massive! Ambar is beach front, which is a big consideration vs other hotels on the resort. Ambar also gave us access to all the restaurants on the resort, whereas guests from other hotels couldn’t always visit restaurants on Ambar Our only complaint was the bed was very firm. The room, hotel, and rest of the resort were well appointed and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful
Teniamos nuestro primer aniversario y nunca nos colocaron nada en el cuarto aun cuando pedimos que colocaran algo alusivo a la celebracion. No volveremos
Great resort loved it.
Everyone was beyond helpful and made our experience very worthwhile. Very clean resort. Couldn’t ask for better.
Fancy lobby and buffet. Very nice beach but you have to wake up early to get a nice spot because it’s most of the time full. Everyone is friendly and helpful, except at the coffee shop where I did not get a friendly vibe til I pulled out some $ for tip. Excellent overall!
Beautiful
Me and my wife came here for our honeymoon, and our expectations were exceeded!! We felt like celebrities, had beautiful views and ate good food. The staff seemed like they genuinely enjoyed helping us. We were shocked at how clean and well run the resort was. We recommend going to the Limbo and Yurta (like a BD’s Mongolian grill) restaurants. 10/10 recommended! We would love to come back!
I would recommend this property every time. The staff at each area of resort were very friendly and helping. Probably the BEST coffee shop I’ve ever been to. The staff and options were unreal. Beach line and ocean was easy to get to and clean. Transportation from each resort property was easy with the train system in place. The SeaKlub sellers around the pool areas selling excursions was very helpful and much nicer than the sales people in the resort lobby’s. Recommend finding a good seller around the pool to book your fun for the week.
Overall a very good stay. The staff were excellent, so friendly and always happy to help (even if occasionally there was a language barrier). Food was hit or miss, some a la carte restaurants were good (Mongolian, Brazilian, Teppanyaki) but others were not great at all (Greek). Breakfast buffet was very good with fresh omelettes and eggs cooked to order. We’d come back but just be more selective over where we went for dinner!
Good food. Clean rooms. Nice people
This was my first time visiting Dominican Republic and I chose to stay at ten Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. It was a truly beautiful experience!! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the resort itself is gorgeous. I will definitely be revisiting!
Too many cats. Cats screaming at night and wake you up. Cats on on my deck, ducks swimming in my pool. Attention for details isn't there. No toilet paper in the massage room bathroom at 9am. The toilet didn't flush the first day, the sink was stopped up the second day. 2 bath robed, one with a tie one without. Must be a shortage in face cloths. Nilsa decorated the room perfectly. The cake didn't have knives forks or saucers. But it waa delicious. They try hard, just the detail's are missing. I broke a glass i asked for another, never got it. I could go on but i will syop.
Lacking service
This was a huge disappointment. I was looking forward to a relaxing week in the sun enjoying my time. Instead I got rubbished a checkin because I was an Expedia gold member and had to ask multiple times for the perks to be added. The pool bar staff were friendly as long as you wore overly skimpy swimwear and drank like a fish making yourself drunk by 1030 One chef at the beach grill actually threw food at me. When I complained I got a “sorry” then nothing. There were good parts. The Japanese teppanyaki was great and fun. Wait staff in the lobby were friendly. The bar staff not so much. I enjoyed the water and my time out of the hotel on a day trip to Isla Catalina. I wouldn’t come back
Property was relaxing. Service was not so good.
The staff were attentive and friendly, the beach was beautiful and there were plenty of loungers. The food and food choices were also great.
Amazing staff and service, always something new to do or explore, incredibly relaxing experience.
Very friendly staff, clean
We loved everythong about this resort from the felicious food and drinks, the staff were all so welcoming, to the clean rooms. We felt very safe as staff was everywhere to assist us. The lobby to the beach was not far of a distance, which is where we spent the majority if our time.
Only thing that was disappointing was Destination Services transport to/from the resort. We were given instructions with incorrect information about where to find the representative - and when we finally found him in the theatre of all places, he then confirmed our return transportation. But when we were leaving and waiting for our scheduled transportation they never showed up. Customer service claimed we never confirmed our transportation but eventually got us a driver but we nearly missed our return flight. I don't know where the mistake was made but unfortunately I won't be booking through Travelocity again because this situation could have easily left us stranded at the resort.
I had a great time. Staff was excellent and very accommodating.
Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Thr resort is beautiful and so many options. The food waa delicious.

Awesome property with lots of dinner choices and great entertainment. Rooms are clean and the turn down service was awesome. The swim up pool was a real bonus. We will be back in the fall.
