Five star hostel

I’m on a 2 week trip in Italy and started in Milano for 3 nights. The hostel was very clean with lots of extra shower and bathroom space. That was private which was nice if you didn’t feel comfortable showering in the rooms bathroom. Also the location is great as well. Short walk to the Doumo area and a bunch of other things as well. Plus they had lime scooters all over the city. So for the valve it’s great compared to the hotel prices!

So clean and friendly staffs there… It was good, but there’s a laundry problem. I wanted to use the machine. But staffs do that, so had to wait next morning… And loud music until midnight in the bar in this hostel

No breakfast included or air con but good otherwis

Good hostel, was good how there was a kitchen and a terrace and a lift so u dont have to take the stairs. But when i booked it it said free breakfast was included and it wasnt. it also said there was air con and there was no air con so it was hot at night.

Pros: Great location, big room, good breakfast, kind staff. You get everywhere easily from there and the hostel has nice things like a shared kitchen, terrace, bar, and bags storage if you need. Cons: The room was full of mosquitoes, it needs an urgent intervention. TV didn’t work properly and was not A/C in the room, so it was a hot night…

Would visit again

My 2nd stay during this trip and I was satisfied. Clean and comfortable . And my roommates were great and made new friends. Shout out to the receptionist Patricia and the staff at the dining room during breakfast ( forgot his name)- very efficient . Will stay again once in Milan .

It was close to everything but also out of the way enough that it was quiet at night. The beds were great but and the bathroom was fine was well but looked like it could have done with a slightly more thorough cleaning, but it really wasn’t that bad. I would definitely and stay again if the opportunity came up! The breakfast was simple but very good as well

I know this is not a 5 star hotel but when you advertise that you have a/c you should have it and not say the government is regulating when it can be turned on.

It's a convenient location but I didn't find the staff very friendly. One night stay if you are in transition between cities is the only reason to stay here.

Had a lovely stay at this hostel, the rooms are very modern and clean and it has a lovely communal kitchen area and terrace. The staff are helpful and it’s in a great location about 15 mins walk to the duomo 😁

Needs a lil work

So the locker you get is barely big enough to fit a school bag, really not adequate given the type of travelers you'd expect at a hostel. Everyone had to put their bags on the floor or under the beds. The shower stall is do small you can barely turn around, there was def enough space in the bathroom to make the stall bigger but whoever designed it didn't give it much thought. Basically you'll need to get naked in the common area or get your clothes wet when you shower. This is located in a bit so busy area so you have to walk a lil to get to restaurants and the subway though there are street cars nearby. There is a nice roof top area and a shared couch/chill with a tv. Happy hour at the bar everyday. Some staff were very friendly and nice, others were on the less friendly side though. Kitchen area was messy and the bathroom had this foul odour even after it was cleaned. I'm comparison to other hostels i stayed at this was the last convenient location wise, dirtiest and last comfortable of them all. I ended up sleeping in the tv room most of the time.

Babbling Babila

Terrific location. This is a real 'youth' hostel with slightly cramped communal areas but I slept like a baby in a fab room, fully equipped. Not sure I like the app based access (it didn't work at first and just too much info and hassle) but whatever works. Place is great. Enjoy.

Nice place overall. Workers weren't nice at any point, and only one was helpful. One worker entered our room at 1 am, woke us up to tell me and the other guy in the room that we were not listed on his computer, even though we paid, and they simply had computer problem. Then in the checkout he refused to return my 20€, even though I had proof of staying and prepaying 4 nights.

Nice, pleasant stay.

Overall the stay was great. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The only issue were the showers, the temperature and pressure was very inconsistent, on my last morning, i couldn't take a shower because the water was freezing cold.

A very good, modern and still kinda new looking hostel, with comfy beds and nice towels provided. The breakfast that’s included is pretty awesome too, with ham, cheese, pastries, bread, condiments, cakes, yogurt, fruits and coffee and tea selection. The fully equipped kitchen is also a plus for me. Location is good, about 10-15min walk from the Duomo area, but metro and tram options are also around. Ideal for those flying in to/out from Linate Airport. The airport bus (nr 73) stops just 4mins away from the hostel. I’d be happy to go back if I’m visiting in Milan again. :)

Super clean, comfy bedding, bathroom in your room is fantastic for a hostel. Come with towels and a lock for the locker, honestly everything you could hope for! Close to the duomo too.

Come for the conditions, stay for the people

Location is more then decent: short enough walk to Piazza di Duomo, but not the best position for public transport. I wish it was very close to a metro station or to Centrale to have good connection with the airport, but it's hard to tick every box. Location looked good, rooms in good condition and clean, mine even had an en suite which was really nice (shower gel and hair dryer included + towel free of charge). Didn't stay long enough to take advantage of it, but it's great knowing they have a laundry. Breakfast was included and quite good. I really recommend it because conditions are good and the crowd seemed very youthful, interesting and fun to be with. It's one of those hostel expériences everyone talks about, where you have a chance to meet cool people and make friends.

Excellent for the price

Excellent for what you get - free breakfast included. I stayed in the female dorm, which had its own bathroom. Locker and key provided, escalator available - this made it convenient with my huge luggage!

The staff was superfriendly and the hotel was super clean, close to the main attractions. We like it very much.

Smoky air, nausea, and no refunds

This pictures of this hostel imply beautiful vaulted ceilings and clean, modern architecture. And the hostel is well-designed as far as hostels go, however people are coming & going constantly and smoking in the vestibule. There is so much smoke coming in and out of the main door and front windows that it gets into the private rooms too. I reserved a private room and the first night was alright, but in the morning people could be heard talking and closing doors loudly. Worse however, smoke started coming in from under the door by other guests who were either smoking right in the front of the drafty corridor, or actually inside the building. There is just one staffer at the desk who did his best to address my concerns, but after one night I politely asked for a refund of the remaining nights of my stay and was denied. This hostel refused to give me back my money after I told them that my partner was made nauseous by the smoky conditions and we wanted to leave. We still left, but the greedy hostel kept my money. Further, Hotels.com refused to compensate me on the hostel's behalf, which is more disappointing. This is a hostel and it's busy, loud, and smoky. They do have a simple complementary meal service and an inexpensive bar. Beyond that however, the arrogance and indifference of the hostel, and Hotels.com is offensive and I oblige you to seriously consider whether to stay here.

The location is really good and the breakfast as well. The rooms are nice and well organised.

Clean Hostel Great staff

Staff was amazing, breakfast ran out everyday, coffee or juice machines were not working all days I stayed.

The property was very confusing to reach on foot. The lady was nice at check in although she didn’t want to check me in until I contacted Travelocity regarding double booking🤔😮🙁but Michael was very rude! He did not want to give me directions ,he was too busy watching the soccer ⚽️ game on TV son Saturday night on 9/14.

Breakfast is the highlight

Pros: service, neighborhood, and breakfast. Cons: cleanliness and facilities (some stuffs are broken).

Hostel is older and smaller than what it looks like in pictures. Dorms are small, not much space for people to move around in the room. Bathroom is very clean and private for each room. A towel and a locker are provided. Breakfast is okay - very commercial. Rooftop terrasse is small with no view but nice place to hang out and meet other people. Overall, a great hostel compared to others that exist in the world.

Very clean, ensuite shower & toilet in every room

I love that every room comes with ensuite shower and toilet, and it's very clean. The breakfast is very good, staffs are helpful. Apart from the bunkbed, this feels more like a 3-star hotel than a hostel. Will be happy to come back if I visited Milan again.

Good room Lots of extras but execution lacking

I arrived early and was able to leave my bags in lockers until my room was ready. They offer a free drink ticket at check-in which is nice and the happy hour specials at the bar are great. The dorms are big and the beds comfortable. The extras like the kitchen (it wasn’t very clean and was not well-equipped...only 2 spoons, no paper towels, etc) and the gym (cramped with old machines, weight machine missing parts, treadmill skips, etc.) leaves much to be desired. Communication and customer service could be improved. The heat went out one night and the guest were notified. (They did have someone come out to fix it the next day, but one night was cold with no explanation). The continental breakfast buffet in the morning is nice. Overall, good for sleeping, drinking and socializing, but the extras are not what they seem.

Very good!

Very happy. Clean, comfy, USB and a socket and individual light provided, fresh towel provided. Good breakfast was also included. Walkable to anywhere central or a couple of stops by tube, very safe central area. Would be returning when in Milan again.

a well maintained hostel, 10 min walk from the metro, walkable to duomo and the main area. It is surprisingly quiet especially at night but I felt safe to walk alone at night. While there isn't much thing around the hostel, i.e. not much restaurants, so my suggestion is don't arrive late at night with a hungry stomach. Not much choice for breakfast but it's fair. Great place to meet people. Joined a group for some activities

So after travelling around the world for four years, working and staying in hostels - I have to say this is one of the best, if not the best hostel that I have ever stayed in. The staff were super friendly and helpful! The rooms were clean and spacious and the vibe was fun and happy! The entertainment from the live band was phenomenal - and don't even get me started on the food and wine!! All in all - 10/10. If I return to Milan - Babila Hostel will be my home away from home! Thank you all for such a pleasant stay! xxx

Great location. Helpful and friendly staff. Great free breakfast. Rooms are clean, super efficient with an element of privacy built into the bunk beds. I would definitely stay here again.

Conveniently located and well maintained. I stayed there only for a night and had no issues with my stay. Hopefully next time I get to stay longer to enjoy all the amenities they provide.

Had to first wait 10 mins for someone to show up at reception, then only to be asked if I could wait another 10 mins before doing my check-in. Not exactly was I need at 2 am, after a long trip. Neither was there any towel. Otherwise enjoyable place, nice breakfast and nice facilities.

Accommodation was excellent, and the renovated rooms in the former chapel were very well designed. Staff were very helpful, and breakfast was really good as well. Very clean, secure rooms. They should have more of those. Location is also a short walk to the metro and the Duomo. Would definitely recommend it.

The team we’re super friendly and accommodating. I was in a female dorm of 6, it was clean tidy and the amenities were better than I was expecting. The 7pm bbq on the roof top was a nice touch, and was a great ice breaker for all visitors to mingle. Great location and only short walk to the cathedral. Over all I would gladly stay again x

Great hostel close to everything!

Hostel staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. It was in a quiet are but only 5 minutes from the metro and 2 minutes from a bus stop. Great breakfast each morning including real coffee! One minor point- the shower space in the shared bathroom could have been bigger so you can take your clothes into them.

Solid pick

Beautiful hostel, one of the cleanest I’ve stayed at. While they have A/C, it does not work if you have a top bunk. Free drink with checkin a bonus. A short walk from the Duomo!

Everything is nice

First time in a hostel!

Really good value and good quality accommodation in a beautiful historic building. We've never stayed in a hostel before - didn't they used to be called youth hostels - but we regard ourselves as second time around interrailers so it seemed quite apt! it's true that most (all?) the other guests were a bit younger than us but that was no problem and there were even a couple of families there. Our double room was very nice with an excellent bathroom and good air con and the staff were efficient and charming. Our room was next to one of the common rooms but all went quiet at midnightish so our sleep was not disturbed and, as an added bonus, my partner was able to watch all the World Cup games in the bar so he was very happy. A good experience all round and we'll be seeking out more good quality hostels like this one!

Great stay

Good clean modern hostel, rooms were tidy, the beds comfy and the bathrooms were great. There was live music on the friday night which was fun in their bar/restaurant area, and a rooftop terrace for somewhere a bit quiter. Only a short walk to a metro station so was easy to get around the city

Amazing hostel, very friendly staff, clean, comfortable modern doorman with good ensuite. Area was perfect for sightseeing and local transport links. Great social area and bar with cheap drinks! Would defo stay again!

Nice stay in a fairly costly hostel!

Nice, ultra-modern and quiet hostel a 15 to 20 minute walk to the Duomo. I recommend eating in the many restaurants and trattorias in the area which offer better food at more reasonable prices. The breakfast food was just okay with mediocre coffee from a small automatic machine. An espresso coffee from the bar a few feet from the buffet table will cost you an additional charge of an euro, but the staff will not inform of the additional cost until after the coffee is prepared, so be on guard for extra charges.

A nice experience in a brand-new (costly) hostel!

Very high standards for bedding and linens. Brand-new and modern bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Even though the breakfast was included in the price, if you wanted an Italian expresso coffee, you were asked to pick it up at the bar a few steps away from the breakfast buffet table and pay extra for it. Otherwise you served yourself from a small, automatic coffee machine that dispensed mediocre American-style weak coffee. More than once, I felt the staff was trying to nickle and dime you whenever possible. The food in the Bistro is really of poor quality and high price compared to the myriad eateries and restaurants in the area. The hostel was very quiet and in a very pleasant area overlooking a park. It is located approximately a 15-minute walk from the Duomo.

Amazing hostel

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The staff were wonderful, the hostel itself was beautiful. And the rooms were large, beds were comfortable. I have no complaints at all. I feel like this was probably one of the best hostels I could and will stay at. Perhaps providing a secondary towel so the ground doesn’t get soaked while showering would be helpful but regardless no conplaints! Would stay again!

Brilliant hostel

Lovely hostel. Very clean. I stayed in a 6 bed mixed dorm. The hostel provides towels and a locker with key. Free wifi is good and available throughout the hostel including the rooms. Each bed has a light and a European power socket which also has a USB socket.The room had a bathroom which had a sink, two shower stalls and a stall with the toilet and another sink. The breakfast was a very basic continental breakfast but was free which is great. I was also give a voucher at check in for a free drink from the bar. I slept well but the room was very warm.

Great for a hostel

Not being one to stay in hostels often, I'm always a little apprehensive. But my stay at Babila was really good! I was in a mixed dorm with six people, the private bathroom in the room was clean and made it quick and easy to get ready in the morning. I didn't use the kitchen but it looked to be well equipped. Overall a good experience!

Great room, nice breakfast, not always hot showers

Every is really good at this hostel, there's lots of space in the rooms and everything is comfortable and clean. It's kept warm by the heating. The only issue i had over my stay was the hot water often wasn't as hot as I'd like, just a little warm, and sometimes a bit cold

Similar to staying at a hotel

Staff was amazing, everything about this hostel was grand, felt like I was staying at a hotel. Only thing is that 2 of the ladies that stayed in my room smelled horrible and unbearable but this is not the problem of the hostel. Breakfast was amazing, totally worth waking up early for.

Another wonderful stay at the babila! Friendliest staff, amazing entertainment, great location. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in milan!

Amazing place to stay for one night

It was my first stay ever in a hostel and experience was amazing. Clean modern bathroom with needed essentials, comfortable bed and clean towels. Lady on the reception deserves additional shout out. My check in went smooth and nice. It was a pleasure to talk to her! Minuses: wall lamp on my bed was broken and it wasn't possible to turn it in the direction I wanted. Bartender is not the most pleasant person. When I started asking about the different soft drinks he started laughing that I don't know what are these drinks.

Nice and clean within walking distance of the Duom

I had an enjoyable trip. I was concerned about getting from the airport to the centre, nothing to worry about it was easy. I was extra concerned as I arrived on New year's day.

Clean and comfortable!

Good location if like walking instead of taking metro or trams. Shower and bathroom area were great!!! Hostel provides towels for use and everything was very clean and comfortable! They even had lockers in the room for use. Will stay here again.

Great Central Spot

Great place very well designed and new. Excellent place for few days exploring Milan very central and bus from Linate Airport stops at the end of the road. We had a lovely spacious double room with great bathroom. Kitchen facilities also available just across the corridor. Nice little bar and bistro to on site if you don't fancy venturing out. Highly recommended.

O quarto era limpo, cama confortável, mas era muito frio o quarto, o aquecimento não era bom. E todas as manhãs entrava algum funcionário homem para verificar alguma coisa, achei isso desconfortável já que era um quarto só de meninas. O elevador era muito antigo e de difícil acesso. Mas no geral Era tudo ok! A cama era boa e o banheiro amplo e limpo.

Pessimo

Cobram um absurdo pela taxa de turista. Elevadores velhos e disfuncionais. De todos os rececionistas só as raparigas eram simpáticas e um rapaz de cabelo comprido. Em relação ás limpezas do quarto expulsavam as pessoas de lá e ainda atiravam com as coisas dos clientes para o chão. Happy Hour super caro. Só vale o valor pela localização

위치좋고 조용하지만 세월의 흔적 있음

조용하고 위치가 좋습니다 밀라노 대성당과 가까워요 다만 건물과 시설에서 연식이 느껴집니다 유럽여행은 거의 하루종일 밖에 있게 되어서 숙소는 최대한 적게 지출하려고 호스텔로 이용했는데요 진짜 잠만자고 조용하면 된다는 생각이시면 이용하셔도 좋을것 같습니다 지저분한건 전혀 아닌데 연식에서 오는 한계인것 같습니다 체크인 전 시간이 애매할때 무료락커가 준비되어 있어서 편리하게 관광했어요
