This boutique hotel is a gem. Michael is a great host and makes you feel like returning family as opposed to just a hotel check-in. Azure is close to many very good restaurants and right on the sand in St. Martin. We plan on returning.

Its on the beach

Loved the location , oceanfront property in Simpson bay you walk a little bit and can see the runaway beautiful sunsets and very peaceful not crowded, Mary boon just like 7 min walking where you can get nice drinks and watch the sunset , also a lot of places nearby to eat favorite one was the Palms dinner and cafe atlántico for breakfast and nowhere special bar to grab a drink at night just within 1 km from property, Mike always helpful and gentle , room was always clean staff very friendly highly recommend stayed 7 nights then went French area the rest of my stay all I can I had great time definitely will come back

Azure is very conveniently located literally with beach access on your patio. Mike was a great host and they kept the area cleaned. It is a beach guesthouse so keep that in mind when booking because you are super close to your neighbors. The place was clean and I could walk conveniently to restaurants and bars. Kitchen area and very hot showers and comfortable bedding. Market is right across the street. Quite affordable and I cannot express how much of a convenience the location was. Hospitality was great!

I recently returned from a wonderful vacation at Azure. The property is perfectly located right on the beach, offering a serene and laid-back atmosphere that I truly loved. Mike was incredibly accommodating, especially with the check-out time, and Greta ensured the place was always spotless, going above and beyond to make sure guests had everything they needed. The owner was very flexible with is, our trip was delayed a full day because Hurricane Helene, beautiful space for what we needed right on the beach, great restraunt with in walking distance on the beach. There was no parking at the place so our host helped facilitate moving vehicles and parked pur car for us after he had showed us tto our roim,,very nice!!

Beautiful place right on the water. You can hear the waves as you fall asleep. A definite 10/10! Host was amazing. Everything was close by. We will return!

Great find!

We were so lucky to find this hotel! It is on a beautiful spot of beach overlooking Simpson Bay. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The owners Mike and Faunet (sp?) made us feel like old friends. They were helpful with anything we needed, including dinner reservations, taxis and late checkouts. We needed to extend our stay because of a storm and they worked with us to accommodate the extension.

Quaint Beachfront/Beach house property in Simpson Bay....nice for couples or short stays and/or beach access.... allowed access to other events, restaurants via beach or nearby streets; walking distance to main strip & eateries. Owner Mike was wonderful—personable & gave history of location; displayed great art work in rooms. House Keeping arrived daily to freshen up towels, clean up & change bedding. The bed was wonderful!! The only downside, which was out of the control of the location, was island power outages daily to conserve across the island—-usually out during sleeping hours (3-5 am) & early afternoon (3-5 pm).... rooms stayed cool & outdoor covered sitting areas were available on beach. All in all a good stay!

Alluring Azure

We had an Amazing stay at The Azure Hotel! It was a very quaint boutique style hotel. It is located in a prime spot - Simpson Bay. The host Mike lives there with his wife and daughter and was VERY helpful.

We completely enjoyed our stay at the Azure Hotel. As you can see from the pictures you walk out your door onto the beach. Our room faced the ocean and we enjoyed breakfast on our patio every morning. The beach and water are incredible. Mike is a wonderful host, having lived there for 20 years he has great recommendations and will help with any car or tour recommendations.

Close to many restaurants

Can’t wait to come visit and stay here again! This hotel is a hidden gem - it’s a quaint little hotel with just a handful on rooms right on the beach! There are beach chairs & umbrellas available as well and you can swim right in front of the hotel! I stayed in the beach suite when I first got there I was a little unsure how secure the room was since this particular room is ground level right on the sand but I didn’t have any issues while I was there & thoroughly enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the waves on the beach.They also have several small shaded patio areas with tables and an outdoor grill plus small kitchenettes in the rooms which is great if u are looking to just unwind and not necessarily dine out at restaurants. If you don’t want to make/bring your own food you can easily walk down the beach (less than 5 min walk) to the Mary boon beach bar/restaurant for food and great cocktails (the whole menu is very affordable too). Alternately you can walk a few blocks into town and there is a little bakery right there as well as a few bars - walk a bit further and you can get to even more restaurants. If u are staying for awhile I would Reccomended renting a car just to explore the other great beaches on st Maarten-however it’s not necessary since you have everything u need within walking distance. The owner mike & his wife are very friendly & helpful- plus they live right there on the property which is perfect in case you need anything! Very happy with my stay!

Mike the owner made our stay so enjoyable!! The hotel is quiet, not commercial in any way and really is a small island hotel. If you are looking for a resort atmosphere look somewhere else. We were there for 3 days and will be back as soon as we can. Be patient with parking but everything else was fantastic.

This hotel is a true gem, directly located on a beautiful stretch of Simpson Bay beach. If you are looking for the peace and tranquility away from big touristy areas this is the place to be. The views are wonderful with private beach that is great for swimming and uncrowded. Walk out of your room onto white beach sand and into turquoise water. The beach chairs and umbrellas are out all day and night so you can relax and enjoy the views. The rooms meticulously clean, and spacious with all the amenities you may need (fridge, stove top, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, utensils). The showers run super hot if you like good hot shower. Mike and Faunette are amazing hosts, very helpful and they make you feel at home. Great escape. If you are looking for a quiet place to just get away from it all, this is it. Will definitely return and highly recommend for booking.

It was fun staying there and if possible I’m stay there again. Since most of the activity I attend while visiting St. Maarten at another part of the island I like to be closer to the action during those events.

What a wonderful, eclectic hotel. A true gem, nestled away in Simpson Bay. Mike and Fawnette, the owners live at the property that to my understanding was built a long time ago. The place is fully updated. Our room was #7 and was on the beach. We simply walked to the chairs and the water. Access to our room was tricky as you had to walk with your luggage onto the sandy beach to the room. On the other hand our hosts took our suitcase and rolled it through their home to the patio where I rolled it to our room ! Our room was snug with a queen bed taking up most of pace with an incredibly comfortable mattress. The room had a tiny bathroom, shower stall and a tiny kitchenette. It was a little cramped, BUT, our view was the sea/beach. If you difficulty getting around, choose a different room. Despite the a/c being on, the ocean would lull us to sleep every night. Parking is tricky as its at the end of a very narrow and tight lane. Our rental car did not have a backup camera but we got used to it after a few close calls. We had to back our car out in reverse all the way to the street entrance. When renting a car, try one with a back up camera and go small - there easier to park and get around with. There are some dogs in the neighborhood and on the beach but don't bother anyone. Overall, we loved the place.

If you like being directly on the beach and walking to dinner and drinks, this is your spot.

Artwork, plantings and water features are beautiful. We loved all the friendly and well-managed creatures and pets that the lovely family keep on the property. A stunning beach is steps away!

Azure Hotel Great Find

We loved this little slice of heaven. With the beach right outside your patio, it was very beautiful. St Martin has also started a delivery service from several restaurants and that made just staying on the beach relaxing even more worth it. Room was very clean and cute!!! This will be our "go to" place from now on when in St. Martin!

This was a beautiful spot quite literally steps away from the beach. Likely the cleanest space I have ever stayed in with room service each day. The owners and staff were very kind and helpful with finding things to do for my short solo trip. Rent a small car and be cautious of stray dogs. The beach is peaceful and away from all the tourists which gives you space to relax. Will 100% return and you should definitely consider booking.

This has been - by far - the best Caribbean travel experience I have ever had (and I have visited most Caribbean islands over the years). Yes, the island is gorgeous, warm, unique, and pristine, but the key difference for me was staying at the Azure Hotel, where i was helped and supported through issues of my own making again and again. I immediately felt a member of the family when I arrived, and was introduced to places for good food, groceries, and activities which I could book at my leisure. Mike and Fawnette, the owners, are truly exceptional human beings - just plain good people through and through. They have an amazing family and vibe that exudes calm and positivity despite what I imagine must be demanding circumstances. The staff, Didi and Greta, keep the rooms meticulously clean and comfortable. The rooms are simple yet complete in every respect. In between ATV rides, snorkeling, and ferries to neighboring islands, I slept like a baby on the comfortable mattress. If you’re considering staying here - don’t even think twice - just do. Thank me later; )

Loved the sublime location. Adored our most generous and gracious Hosts Fawnette and Michael. Very unique, special and unusual property to find in St. Martin. The guests were global, fascinating, friendly and eager to share their adventures. The sunsets were extraordinary. Beach chairs and towels available each day. Definitely rent a car for traveling around and Michael has a wonderful contact.

What an absolute gem :) The room was clean, comfortable and cosy, with all the amenities you might need for a couple of days (microwave, toaster oven, fridge, kitchen area etc). Right on the beach where you can relax in their beach chairs all day long ;) The owner Mike was super pleasent and welcoming and made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. I'm looking forward to staying there again. Highly recommended :)

This hotel is such a hidden gem. Mike made us feel welcome and checked on us and our needs. We walked, took a Taxi, and a bus few times, but next time we will rent a car.

The Azure was a fantastic place to stay. The room was incredibly clean and opened up right onto the beach. There are also some incredibly cute cats and turtles on the property which was a big bonus for us :) Mike was a great host and you can tell that he put a lot of work into his property. Mike was able to give us great advice about the area and even arranged for a nurse to come and conduct a Covid test in our room. The Azure is hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed!

It is literally 15 steps to the sand with beautiful water, sun loungers (shaded) and some great tortoises on property.

Directly on the amazing white beaches of Simpson Bay with the turquoise water, you truly can’t ask for more. The owners, Michael and his wife are super friendly and helpful and the rooms are kept really clean with all the facilities you’d ever need. The location is perfect! You’re right on a beautiful beach within walking distance of many good restaurants. The property owners were very friendly and helpful. We felt like family. We loved seeing the tortoises every day in their courtyard. We stayed in the Tropical Suite and it had everything we needed. We loved the gorgeous wooden king size bed. It is a piece of art! We wish we could have stayed longer and can’t wait to return. You can’t go wrong with the Azure Hotel.

If you’re looking to spend quiet time on the beach, this is the property for you. It’s right on the beach and you’re close to a few restaurants that are accessible from the beach. With a car (or use of taxis) you can get into town a few minutes away and access a few more restaurants and amenities.

Our stay at the Azure Hotel was wonderful! All rooms are just steps to the beautiful beach with lounge chairs under the trees. Mike and Fawnette are great hosts and have a way of making you feel like a friend visiting; which just added to the experience. They are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the island, from taxi rides, to restaurants and places to see. I can’t wait to go back.

Azure stay

I will say this is an awesome little hotel right on the beach and walking distance to bars and restaurants. I did not rent a car and had no issue finding a Restaurant or bar. If you do want to rent a car parking is little difficult. However, this place is lovely.

Couldn’t have asked for a perfect getaway! Been to the island many times but this place as affordable, super clean, great family, and just an all around awesome time! Will def be back

The property is literally on the beach. Wake up to a beautiful view and fall asleep listening to the oceans waves. The room has everything you need. The property is clean. The owner is amazing and an awesome resource to everything ( seriously not exaggerating ).

Awesome beachfront oasis!

What a great find…. Perfectly located on Simpson Bay in front of one of the nicest beaches on the island, the Azure is your perfect ocean front beach cabin getaway. Mike and Faunette are very hospitable and great guides to some of the things that you need to see and do while you’re on the island. You have a couple of cool beach bars within a couple of blocks of Azure, a little convenience store just a block away, and some of the best restaurants on the Dutch side just a few minutes away by car. The beach chairs and umbrellas are out all day and night in case you want to chill by the beach and listen to the waves at night. There's also a shower so you can rinse your feet.

Friendliness

This is the perfect little boutique hotel, and you cannot get any closer to the beach than here on the happy island of St Maarten! The views are incredible, it's quiet and cozy, and Mike and his wife go above to make you feel right at home, no matter how long your stay. If you prefer the peace and tranquility of a smaller hotel, and not the crowds of a mega-resort or timeshare, this is the place to be. Additionally, the fountains and turtle garden add a lovely touch, the rooms have fully equipped kitchens, and you are also just a few minutes drive from all the major restaurants, bars and attractions in Simpson Bay. So lay out on the white sandy beach, grab a rum punch, and jump in the cool turquoise waters because you will never want to leave!

Before I even checked out, I was already looking to rebook! I cannot say enough good things about Azure. Location was unbeatable. Step right out of your room onto the beach. The sunsets were divine. A very short walk, barefoot, up the beach brings you to Marys Boon & Karakter beach bar. Great food & cocktails at both places. Theres also a basic grocery store right up the block for fruit/snacks/water bottles etc. Though Michael, the owner, told us the water is filtered & drinkable in our rooms kitchenette. Theres also ample parking, & two rental car lots with in walking distance. The room was very clean, with a small stove top, fridge, coffee pot. Ice cold AC unit, which was also virtually soundless. The bed was comfortable, linens looked new, showers run super hot if you needed a good shower. I could go on & on about the hotel, but what makes this place so special is the hospitality, completely above & beyond! Michael, & Fawnette were so accommodating it was like visiting a friends house. Its the kind of service you'd never get in a large island resort. They were so flexible with my erratic arrival date, & again with extended check out on my departure date. Their daughter Sky was such a pleasure, and a welcome distraction for my son! She taught him to catch lizards, they played with beach cats & tortoises that live in a mini sanctuary on the property. Hes been talking about it nonstop. Azure is truly a special place, on a special island. Do not hesitate to book!

The owner/manager greeted me by name when I arrived. He immediately upgraded me for free to a beach side room. I guess it was my lucky day. Also I arrive early to check in approximately 12pm. Check in are usually 3pm at most big establishments. They did not ask for credit card deposit. This is like family. Real professional people vibes. My 2 day stay was awesome. Has a little grocery store close by. Restaurants and stores close by about a 4minute walk.

Azure Hotel is THE place to stay!

This hotel is a true gem and I'm sad we only got to spend one night here! Service was excellent and the space is beautiful! I wish we had stayed here on previous visits to St. Maarten! The hotel is located on the beach and within walking distance to a plethora or bars and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious with a great kitchenette. There was a back door from our room leading to a private terrace patio that faces the ocean. It was really beautiful and relaxing. 1000% I would stay here again!!

I stayed 1 night because of the high ratings on this site. I was very disappointed. It was far from superb. The neighborhood was a bit neglected. The room was tight on space with outdated furniture. Beach was rough and airplanes were noisy and easily heard. I would not recommend this hotel. Sorry.

Property sits right on the beach which is amazing and is generally quite except for being very close to the airport, arrivals and departures of planes can be heard very clearly (being close to the airport has both advantages and disadvantages). The staff is very friendly and helpful, Virgi was especially pleasant and helpful getting us checked in and settled. The room was clean and daily housekeeping kept it that way throughout our stay. My only negative was the fact that the cats kept coming into our room as soon as our door was opened, very annoying.

If you are looking to relax and just be a beach bum this is the place. The owner lives right on the property and is very friendly and helpful along with the staff. Owner Mike was super helpful getting us early morn taxi for airport. Beautiful sand beach. Interesting small local town just blocks away. Some bottled water wouldve been nice to have in the cabin-like room. Worked out great for overnight layover.
