Excellent to exceptional. From checkin. To all our 5 nights everyone was fun professional And friendly Never forget To thank the room Attendants So friendly fun and helpful also. Easy to interact even with language barrier. Then the pool Staff were as equal as all thru out the hotel Thanks you Axel Maspalomas. Denis and Michael. 🚀🛫✈️✈️🇨🇦
Axel Brach is always my first option when visiting. The staff is great in all areas of the property. We’ve stayed at other properties in the area, but none compare to Axel. Pool, bar, restaurant, housekeeping, front desk staff… all are the best.
Adults only and quiet.
The staff was great. Rooms were cleaned daily and sheets and towels changed out. All my friends and I were on first floor of rooms and they all smelled like a sewage back-up. The pool was large but not heated so too cold to use. Due to the positioning, the pool deck did not get any sunlight after 1pm
No hot water
having stayed at the hotel before this was a disappointing visit. The hot water wasn’t working - whilst they tried to fix it and I tried to give them the opportunity to resolve the situation they didn’t reply. It was fixed one night then the following day it broke again so one cold shower one evening and one morning.
Great place !
Great stay ! Special thanks to Carmen, Kevin and Raico !
Few times in my Life travelling around the world i found so nice kind people .Everything was great all the staff expeccially CARMELO RAYCO CRISTIAN very Expert for breakfast so Amazing and KAVIN so kind at the reception not tò mention all the others the houskipping. It was my first time here but i want to come back as soon as possibile for sure thanks all again....RUGGERO
Nice pool area and good drinks at the bar. Rooms need refresh and to be modernised.
AC making an impossible noise, impossible to use. As we arrived late we slept with AC off. Following day they tried to fix the AC and did not work. They changed room and AC was working OK but with bad smell. As I'm an DIY person I removed the filter and it was completly dirty, I washed in the shower. Property is OK, but it is not a real Axel, I would not come back as the price is higher as others in the area but it is not that good.
This was my first solo holiday and I did not feel alone, the hotel staff were amazing, Javier on the sky bar was so friendly and called me by name. Plenty of sun beds and pool area great. Other customers were friendly and had a great atmosphere. Will definitely return
Enjoyable stay
Pleasant stay at Axel again as the price was decent this time. Rooms are spacious but fairly standard and a bit too dark. Shower head upgrade is welcomed! Nice big bed. Staff are always lovely and friendly. When the pool is busy there’s not enough staff for the bar so service is slow. Not the staff fault but managers need to improve that esp when people are paying extra for the luxury bed. We stayed road side this time and actually was ok not as noisy as I thought.
Hotel was great but I had to change rooms 3 times.first room no ac second room had a mid night plumbing issue and could not stand smell. After that we had a good time. Not sure it’s worth the inconvenience
Basic but pleasant staff and nice atmosphere
Property bedrooms /apartments are bit clean enough. Showers need attention, sealant around showers, and glass. Air con units, dusty and unclean- when were last time filters got stripped and cleaned? Sockets busted up in rooms and attention detail cutlery and kitchen areas cleaniness and wear and tear. Friendly staff , nice enough atmosphere, nice pool area.
The proximity to everything and shopping and great food places
The apartments are very nice, clean and well maintained. Excellent powerful shower and constant warm water. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. My only issue was the noise of the traffic outside which made sitting on the balcony not great (I knew I had booked this side of the building due to the cheaper price but was not expecting the traffic noise to be as bad as it was).
Midrange hotel but looking dated. Property and room need a little love. For example in room 124 the paint was peeling off of the bathroom ceiling and the towel hanger was unusable and hanging off the wall. The rooms are basic and functional with a 90’s/2000’s vibe. Location is excellent and the staff were nice for the brief interactions I had with them.
Very very good
Staff is very helpful and friendly. The building itself is a bit older but everything else was good.
confortable rooms
My first time staying at an Axel hotel, and I had a great week. It was a good sized apartment, including air conditioning, dining and seating space. The bathroom had a powerful shower and hairdryer, and an iron was available on request. The pool and jacuzzi were great and all the staff were very welcoming (reception, bar staff and cleaners), and the other guests were friendly without being full on. There was a supermarket nearby, and a 10-15 minute walk to the beach, with the Yumbo also very close. My only downside is I found the bed mattress to be too hard, so the option of a softer mattress topper would be helpful. But I’d definitely stay again.
Thanks to all at Axelbeach. Gary and I had a great time.
Centrally located with spacious apartment-style accommodations, great pool and friendly helpful staff. Alvaro, Kevin, Daniel, Dayana and Carmen were all wonderful. I particularly enjoyed breakfast by the pool every morning and the view from the balcony.
Easy and convenient stay close to Yumbo Centrum, with many choices nearby for shopping and dining. Staff and service was excellent, especially Alfonso and Kevin. Pool parties on Saturdays and Wednesdays were so fun with DJ Lucky and the Balinese beds are worth reserving with either a drink or food package. Great atmosphere and location!
Another great stay at Axel Beach
Always enjoy staying at Axel Beach hotel. All the staff at the front office, bar, cleaning & maintenance personnel are always so pleasant & helpful. Kevin, the front office manager was particularly helpful on this trip. Great location close to the Yumbo centre - would very much recommend!
This was our first stay in an Adel hotel. We had high expectations but were disappointed with the quality of the room fit out. It was very functional bordering on uncomfortable. Clearly designed to be hosed down after each guest. Hopefully other Axel hotels have more comfortable rooms.
They recognised husbands birthday with balloons and cava without us even highlighting it was his birthday.
Very nice hotel and very clean. The rooms would need a little updating otherwise it was comfortable.
Could use a makeover
The hotel has good bones and although the photos are realistic they were taken years ago and don’t account for the wear and tear over time. The entire property could use a makeover. Nevertheless, it was a good location, quiet for the most part but this could be because the hotel wasn’t full. The cleaning was done daily however it was substandard. There’s a coffee maker which brews cold coffee and no kettle to heat up water. The bed was relatively comfortable but the sofa was not. It’s cheap material that sticks to your body. The pool was great but jacuzzi is cold. It’s a “gay” hotel that is heterofriendly so do expect some straight couples amongst the men. I wouldn’t book this hotel again but I also wouldn’t return to Maspalomas as it’s pretty dead and mostly inhabited by people over 60. We barely saw any young people, it was quite depressing. Most shops and restaurants are closed or empty and the food quality is lacking and bland.
We had an amazing stay, couldn’t fault it.
Friendly resort with popular pool party to liven things up! Very good location for Yumbo.
Short Say, would like to stay longer
Great service from Kevin, Daniel and Carmen. The grounds were amazing and the pool was wonderful.
Great location, amazing staff, big rooms
As a regularly visitor to Maspalomas I’ve stayed in many hotels in the area and now come back consistently to AxelBeach as it provides the best combination of friendly staff, size of hotel room and an amazing location. From Kevin and Carmen on the front desk, to the bar, kitchen and cleaning staff, everyone is always incredibly friendly (and efficient). The rooms are incredibly clean with a daily cleaning service available This is an older hotel that was updated a couple of years ago to provide a modern environment. The rooms are like mini-apartments, with a separate bedroom, bathroom and living space incorporating a small kitchenette. I would recommend paying the extra to be on the pool/garden side of the hotel, though all the rooms are around the same size. The food service (breakfast and lunch) has improved considerably over the last couple of years and is now very enjoyable and sensibly priced. The hotel is a comfortable 5 mins walk to the Yumbo centre, with many restaurants and shops in close proximity. The beach is also walking distance from the hotel. The hotel has one of the largest pools in the area, though as with most on Gran Canaria it’s not heated. The guests have a wide range of ages which makes it more interesting. During festivals etc the hotel is very busy, outside of these has a more relaxed vibe. Regardless of age, I’ve always found the majority of guests here very friendly and nice. If you’re looking for a hotel near the action, that has a nice vibe
A few minor room issues leaking A/C and plumbing issues. Nothing that wouldn’t stop me coming back
The property is well-maintained, it’s in a good location and the staff are great. But it was incredibly overpriced for what it is.
Decent room size and brilliant staff
Terry
The hotel is very modern, clean and comfortable. The room we had was spacious and as there were three of us we certainly had enough room. The room was well stocked too if you wanted to cook for yourself. It has a great pool too, and even on the pool party day we still had space to move about. The staff were amazing, they took their time with us and made sure we had all we needed and were really attentive. A special nod to Rayco, Kevin, Cristian, Diana and Carmen for helping us out.
I had a wonderful time and will definitely stay there again. Staff were friendly , I loved the gym and swimming pool. The room was large and comfortable
Unreasonable manager worst experience I had booking with this hotel
Centrally based and comfortable. Clearly dated in the rooms however was still comfortable.
Really enjoyed staying here. It was as cruisy as you want it to be, and as quiet. The staff are all great and helpful, the terrace and pool are beautiful and the beaches all near enough to walk to. I would recommend and will definitely come back!
From the moment we arrived the one thing that stuck out was the staff. They all make you feel welcome. They are all so proud to work there and its like a family. Ive never been anywhere where the staff have been like this. The room was great. Seperate bedroom area If you need iron and board simply ask at reception Nice pool area quiet in the week but bbq with pool dj on saturday. Most flights tend to be late but checkout was good. Somewhere safe to store baggage and use of all poolside including indoor shower to prepare for journey home I can't recommend this hotel more highly The only thing that wasnt to our taste was the breakfast. Well the cooked sude of it. The bacon was plasticy and the potatoe hash brown inedible as were like cardboard The rest of the breakfast however was great and good choice of fresh fruit cold meats cheese and much more
It’s a decent property. Recently renovated but a pity they didn’t install power outlets in more convenient locations. They also need to provide more toiletries in the rooms. The staff make up for most of the shortcomings. They’re awesome.
Always love to stay at the Axel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I love it here!
Extremely dated and poorly maintained accommodation. Gym very good. Pool area, music is too loud and stops relaxation.
Clean pool, clean rooms, great customer service, location is fantastic. Highly recommended
Axel ok
Basic hotel. This is the second time I stayed here and chose a room facing the pool. This was more expensive. The room seemed smaller than the cheaper room facing the street. Bathroom dated and needs work doing. Balcony was great and spacious. I would say you get what you pay for but this room was more expensive than it should be. I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.
L G T B Q
It wasn’t very clear on the website that this is a LGTBQ Hotel. that is their target market and should’ve probably been much clearer. I’m a heterosexual man and was decidedly uncomfortable with the flagrant posters and decals plastered around the hotel. When naked men enter the hot tub that was far beyond my comfort level and my expectations. The hotel is far past its best before date, it’s just tacky and dated. The hot tub was not hot. The shower was lukewarm. It was a bit cool at this time of year and I was looking forward to a hot shower at the very least. Overall pretty disappointing stay, I am moved to another hotel for my remaining two nights.
Great gay oriented hotel
Excellent gay oriented hotel. We had a very nice room with a very comfortable King size bed, balcony and good view. Room cleaned every day with fresh towels. Very convenient for the Yumbo centre and local shops and restaurants.
Pretty much an old building
Very very very dated Hotel. Needs a lot of upgrading. We stayed for one night due to the fact that the hotel we want to stay wasn’t available. This property has nothing in common with the main Axel properties in Spain. It is very very old and uncomfortable.
Great location with a nice pool and gym. Rooms are dated and could use an update. Mattress was not good.
Clean and well maintained
Relaxing and comfortable
A great base, convenient location, friendly staff and a good all-rounder.
Nice staff, tired building …
Overall disappointing, great staff, tired accommodation, awful pillows, too much noise from opposite complex, then at this hotel deliveries early hours then workmen during the day. The rooms are just too dark, you can’t see a thing when you first open the door (unsafe), the room furniture is way too basic, there are no draws, no hooks, no shelves, a small wardrobe for 2 people. I asked for a queen bed in advance and got 2 singles, I was meant to have a late checkout as a hotels.com gold member but this was declined, changing facilities once checked out are inadequate as there is no air con and you end up wet with sweat trying to change and pack quickly. The real annoyance is that the entrance is at the back of the hotel which results in a long walk unlike other nearby adult only hotels. The air con didn’t work well, the room was always too warm. The gym equipment is good but the room weird, it could be laid out much better, looks uncared for and again the air con makes it an uncomfortable work out. The staff were friendly, professional and excellent but for me the actual hotel is one to be avoided in future.
Canaria trip
Great location and friendly staff
Amazing
Amazing place to stay
Very enjoyable with reservations.
Stay was enjoyable, nearest shopping & restaurants at Yumbo Centre, abt 10 minute walk, reception staff really friendly & helpful. Only criticism, hotel listed as No.32, except sign telling you that the entrance is not there anymore is placed between Nos 22 & 24, entrance is actually 200 metres further on, right at No.28!!!! Would have appreciated a kettle as well as or in place of the coffee machine, some of us don't drink coffee.
Carnival Time
Great location. Pool area lovely and lively. Rooms large with great sized balcony’s. Reception bar and cleaning staff very friendly. Reception staff particularly friendly and helpful and go out of their way to chat.
Great location and awesome pool
The staff is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The pool area is excellent. The breakfast is good with several options and it was very easy to get drinks at the bar to enjoy by the pool. The hotel is conveniently located and only a 5 minute walk to Yumbo.
Great place to stay staff super helpful, specially Kevin always answered questions and local tips!
Top choice in Maspalomas
At first was a bit skeptical after reading some of the super critical reviews on here but overall I think i enjoyed my stay very much. Staff was great, room was cleaned everyday, pool area was great, good mix of crowd. I had no issue with the cleanliness everything was cleaned to a good condition. The only thing i would say is the gym is in dire need of an upgrade yes, it’s a bit embarrassing but ok It’s a good to have , i didnt choose to stay here draw by the gym. Overall amazing and would come back.
Great quality resort.
Love it but...
Love the staff and the location. Cool music around the pool, nice and easy feel. That's why I am coming back. What I do NOT like? The gym needs an uplift. The weights are falling apart and everything looks just very used up. Time to update. Also the rooms. They haven't changed since it has opened. Maybe just some soft furnishings? Or a new colour scheme on the walls, which could translate into soft furnishings? Something should be done.. the foundation is great!
Very clean hotel. Compact, but has everything you need.
Always a safe choice
We have stayed here many times. It’s a big hotel & lots of open space & most importantly close to the Yumbo. Things are looking shabby indoors. Our sofa was torn & covered in a white sheet, the sockets were a nightmare as they didn’t all work properly & and one had to hold the plug in if one wanted to iron. The pool area is clean & open & the pool very large. Staff here were pleasant & helpful. My only major criticism was that directly in front of our balcony where we ate our meals was discarded cigarette ends & sadly needles from what I can only assume was drug use. This was not pleasant to see. I alerted the hotel to this & hope they will check these areas as a matter of routine before new guests arrive.
Vackra män😊
Allt fungerade superbra. Vackra män! Trevliga rum! Sköna sängar! Goda drinkar! Bra frukost! Trevlig personal allt ifrån reception, bar till städpersonalen och bästa Pegonia 🤗
Overall a great venue
Excellent location, well looked after. Rooms are cleaned daily. Friendly staff and nice pool area. Good Choice Breakfast offer but unfortunately the hot items were not really hot. Also, the food offer in the Sky Bar could improve in terms of variety and quality. Otherwise great venue
Need upgrading …
General not updating and getting runs down…. General when arrive found tv broken with pixels damaged they quickly changed tv and discovered satellite system faulty.. so no channels to watch apart what you able to watch ! Few days later remote contrail broken not the battery the remote felt dirty and sticky suspect damaged when someone else stayed… again quickly replace. Further another day cooker broken down they rip out and replace brand new glass cooker….. on departure handed keys in and no bill to pay but when flown home my banking alert me that they withdrawn my money and I have contacted them why unauthorised payment from my card after I left Uk.. they email me to say that I used washing liquid for £3.50 !!!!!! Fine next time I come back I just rinse whole crockery instead using washing up liquid but just water!! Regarding security issues some night fire exit were left open day and night so watch yourself
The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was lovely. The pool wasn’t heated so was a little cold in December but the pool area and bar were great anyway.
Tired AxelBeach
The AxelBeach is looking tired these days. It’s good value but no frills generally. The staff are on the edge of rude at times, other times more friendly, I didn’t feel the love this time.
Fantastic
Fantastic place to stay
I have stayed at Axel before and I enjoy the hotel as an adult only hotel and having good pool parties and good guests… but it has to be said the quality if the rooms are quite bad and the rooms are well overdue some Renovation. The beds are very uncomfortable and rooms are now looking very tired and tatty… overall the quality does not justify the cost.
Great location, pity the hot food wasn't hot.
Great location, clean and helpful staff. Breakfast included as part of our package. After 3 to 4 mornings of barely warm (self service) beans, scrambled eggs etc. I mentioned to the reception staff that the food is not hot (asked for my room number); and following morning; food still just warm. I dont mind being asked if the food is ok as part of service; but it was obvious the food wasn't hot when the waiter said maybe the bain marie wasn't working properly. I was offered the option of an omelette and declined (I dont like complaining or making a fuss; but would it not be easier to actually make sure equipment is working properly and check the food is hot...especially after getting complaints!).
Disgusting and poor management!
Completelu disgusting hotel. Towels were stained with brown colours, i need not explain further. Air-conditioning made a horrible noise and we conplained numerous times constantly being promised was going to be fixed. Was told we woukd get a refund for nights aircon was bad... after we left nothing was said. Managment at hotel is terrible. The general staff are lovely and helpful. I would never book this hotel. I paid for a pool facing room then on day 3 they wanted to shove me in a corner room facing a run down tennis court. Gran canaria has amazing places.... dodge this one! Go chill at pool dont stay !!!
Always reliable first choice
This is always a reliable venue. Whilst it’s not a luxury property, the staff are often way better than some of the workers I have met in luxury hotels. Carmen is most probably the most charming and friendly receptionist I’ve ever met. The cleaner stop and say hello. The Personal Trainer, Victor, it’s always helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff take time to ensure that you’re happy. The location is great in terms of the Yumbo and bus to the airport.
Hotel needs an upgrade of facilities
This hotel needs to be upgraded since it has lost its appeal. Everything is quite dated, old and prices are still high. Paying €3 a day for the safe is a no, no in these days for any hotel. They even used to charge extra for wifi if you had more than 3 devices connected. The gym has several items missing and broken so is no longer a good amenity to stay over at this hotel. They no longer give you all toiletries as before (gel, shampoo, body lotion and hair conditioner), they give you the shampoo and gel and only if you ask for the others they will give them to you. They have also changed provider and now their toiletries are made in China as apposed to Spain. Sofas in rooms are worn and have no longer cushions. Prices in pool bar are more expensive than going to the RIU Palace bar. Charged €4 for a "glass" of coke served from a 2litre bottle due to some excuse that the machine was not working (Is €3.50 at Riu Palace). Even from the soda machine is a rip-off. At least they should give a a can for that price. Coffees are made from a Nespresso machine- basic home appliances for a commercial business charging top prices. Staff are the only ones keeping this place alive since the owners of the Axel Brand seem to have abandoned them for now. Will probably avoid this place unless the price is low since their standard of service is low.
Tired property that no longer warrants the premium. Way too many drug fuelled parties going on until the middle of the night with scores of revellers waiting outside the hotel at night hoping for a hotel guest to let them in to join the numerous chem sex parties taking place inside the hotel.
Bit of a letdown - POOL PARTY IS THE BEST PART!
I'm still a little perplexed as to why so many people think this is a great hotel. It was even recommended to me by an acquaintance I know that has been to Maspalomas many times. I was not very impressed. I'll say this - I'm not a hotel snob by any means (I knew I wasn't going to the Four Seasons) and I do understand that many of the properties are dated, but just a little more effort could have made me a little more comfortable. The rooms were not only dated, they were kind of dirty from the get-go. There weren't enough towels provided in the first place. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the sheets were starched and thin. Worst of all, they only left two pillows for two people. Many side sleepers need boost of cuddle pillows. The food was way overpriced and not very satisfying and the drinks were pretty weak. Bathroom is the size of a closet and water goes everywhere no matter how careful you are. Now - where credit is due: they were mostly responsive to requests, but you sometimes had to go down to the reception station to get it. The pool parties during the day are very fun and well attended. Mostly gay men, these were some of the friendliest folks I've me on any "gay-cation". Also, on weekends, they hired an extra security guard to verify identities and keys to make sure there wasn't any bad folks getting in. That could be a hassle to some who might be wanting a (ahem) visitor, but I thought it was a nice touch.
Good for party
Lovely staff all round. Gorg pool area. Food not so great but overall an great place to stay
Nice hotel if you are gay. There were quite a few parties and I walked in on someone having sexual relations in the steam room. I enjoyed the parties and steam room, but be wary if you aren’t into that sort of thing.
Excellent
Great thanks. We are a heterosexual married couple but we’re made very welcome. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff were very friendly too. Great place.
Great staff
Staf is very very friendly, rooms are clean but outdated (like 90% of the island). Enjoyed my stay a lot!
get a way with friends...
great location, nice staff... 2 remarques: WiFi is a big problem and swimming pool is not heated.
Fun pool / spa area with good music and great reception staff
Muy viejo hotel, no air comditionar en habitacion Very old hotel, no air condition in bedrooms No posible invitar ptra persona, no lobby en hotel There is no options to host guests, no lobby in the hotel, no social at all there Its more like old used apart hotel All amenties were super old
The photos hide the real hotel.Had a cheap makeover, everwhere dark grey matt paint. The kitchenette is very very basic and small, coffee maker and toaster on the wobbly table. The fridge is overloaded with expensive refresments. The wellness area is filthy and the steamroom stinks.Pool not heated and hot tub cold.Street view rooms have afternoon sunshine which is a bonus as there is no sun on the pool areas after 4ish at this time if year.
Top class.
Top rating very well deserved. And excellent covid safety at this trying time. This was a very short visit, but have done longer ones, and hope to do so again in the future.
Party hotel. Pretty Grim, not Covid secure. Little social distancing in common areas.
Really nice place, love the jacuzzi and pool. Great music by the pool everyday. The only negative is it's not the quietest hotel at night but that is to be expected
They have proper double bed mattresses that are really comfortable and hard to come by in gran Canaria hotels
Great fun gay hotel. I decided to extend my stay for another 8 days and booked again through Expedia as they had the best deal.
Really friendly staff, exceptional room cleaners. The pool area and pool bar staff were great. Some guests like a late night 'party' in their rooms and can be noisy so don't expect peaceful tranquility if that's what you're after. I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't really bother me. Overall I had a great stay and really enjoyed the hotel.
Amazing stay in Axel beach. Staff was friendly and there were very Covid aware
Fun hotel
Fun stay but the property could do with some refurb and a better vibe by the pool. Hopefully they put a DJ there or smth. Carmen on the reception was exceptional!
The reception staff really let it down. The check in was terrible. The later check out for the VIP booking was refused by Carney and I was told I needed to vacate by noon not 2pm as the paperwork said. The cleanliness was fine but not great. Woke up to the putter patter of cockroach. Hotel toiletries were hit and miss by cleaning staff. For a 3 Star rating it is poor. A 4 Star could have cost the same with better service. The only positive was the gym, but since it is open to non residents on occasion it was too busy to use. Doubtful would return.
Chilled out holiday nice clean hotel with ok features
Nice staff at reception and at the bar. Great location.
Despite marketing itself as a primarily gay hotel (their new phrase is "hetero-friendly"); the hotel now seems to have an open door policy to anybody. On the 2nd night of our stay, two extremely drunken lads checked in, who soon found out that most of the other guests were gay. This resulted in a barrage of homophobic abuse being directed at other guests, myself included, and the abuse continued the more these lads drank. Hotel staff did little to stop it, despite a torrent of complaints from guests. No manager was present (apparently) whenever we complained or tried to find out what was going to happen; and we eventually gave up trying to speak to a manager, or indeed anybody. Add a group of 5 middle aged drunk women to the mix on day 4, and you can imagine how fun our stay was. Not. Been staying here for quite a few years, but never again.
If you can spare a little more cash from your usual place, it’s worth spending it on this place. You will save 20€ on WiFi alone as the hotel’s WiFi is the best on the island! This place has familiar friendly faces to greet me every year. The rooms are spacious and cleaned to a high standard every day. The gym is quite large for a hotel gym with plenty of free towels and open 8:00-23:00. Around the pool everyone is friendly should you with to socialise. A great place to stay.
Shower leaked reported but not repaired bathroom floor was wet and slippy all time

Great gay hotel complex
This is primarily a gay hotel but all are welcome. That said, the large mural showing a line of buffed and handsome men in swimming trunks was not quite what we saw lying around the pool, but perhaps they come in the summer. The room we had was a nice size, with a lounge with kitchenette if you want to rustle up some food. The breakfast was great, the staff really friendly and helpful, it's located a few hundred metres from the Yumbo Centre, and it's a short walk from the various bus stops for trips to Maspalomas and other towns around the island. The bar - at least in January - closed by 6 but there's a well-stocked minibar if you get desperate. Get a room pool-side as the main road on the street side is very noisy in the daytime. If you book directly you might have a better chance of getting one. The only criticism is that the rooms are a little scruffy in places, clean but clearly a bit dated. We'd go there again.
