This is a hostel, and even if you book a private room, the facilities won't match the standards of a regular hotel. But if you are budget traveler, this may be for you. Our bathroom attached private room was on the top floor with no elevator. The stairs were old, creaky, and winding, and difficult to carry the luggage by ourselves. Definitely not for those with weak knees and arms. The room has no heating and the towels were not replaced during our 3-night stay. The bathroom is old school and shower space was tiny and claustrophobic. There is a community kitchen and other common spaces for use. The complimentary breakfast was mediocre.
Keep in mind that this property is a hostel - folks of all ages use the place as an inexpensive place to stay. It is not fancy but it’s clean and safe. Great location and Route 11 bus from outside Gare du Palais VIA station stops almost right at the door. Close to Rue St Jean, Théâtre Capital.
We liked the location relative to shopping and restaurants in two directions. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Breakfast with egg, fruits provided was wonderful!
Great location
I was only there one night, but everybody was very friendly and helpful, especially because the airline needed to deliver my bag at about 1 AM. Everything was comfortable and clean. I would happily stay again.
The Hostel is located just a block away from shopping and there is a nearby grocery store. The beds have curtains, an individual light with power & usb ports. The locker is big enough for a carry on bag. There are limited number of bathroom/shower rooms on each floor. Common areas are nice and clean.
Accueil parfait. Rien ne manque ! Merci de faire connaître.
Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Very convenient location for touring old Quebec City. Rented room with private bath.
Wonderful Hostel….. the only thing might be poor WiFi in some places
They have guitars, a pool table and a bar. What more would you need!
Good service
Everything is great! Thank you a lot
I like staff service and facilities provided by hotel team.
The location is prime. If you have mobility issues that may be a problem.
I would recommend this place to anyone who travels and wants to be in the core of all activity
I will come again!
Perfect location. Everything was walkable. Parking was a couple blocks away and inconvenient. Breakfast did not have much either. Other than that no complaints.
Loved it
I’ve stayed here 3 times when visiting Quebec City. It is in a perfect location to walk about and the staff is always helpful.
Great place to stay.
Good budget accommodation
Practical and convenient budget accommodation. Met my expectations. Would return without hesitation.
great area
I like everything
I liked service
.
Its great
Great old building. Lots of stairs. Centrally located. Great walking tour arranged through the hostel. Friendly and helpful staff.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were accommodating and were super helpful during our stay. We stayed in an economy room, which was private room for our family. It had plenty of space, was clean too. The location can’t be beat and is an economical choice for those wanting to stay in old Quebec City. We hope to be back in the future for another stay.
The staff were very friendly. The room is what you would expect in a hostel. It is in a great location.
This hostel is a unique experience. The staff are great and make everything easy. XOXO
Excellent staff, great location.
Nice place, great vibes, great guests
Easy and clean stay for a night! It was a busy Saturday night out in the streets and a strong barbecue smell filled the entire female bathroom on the 3rd floor. Overall, the reception staff are very welcoming and I loved that they organise free guided walking tours in the mornings, just a shame I couldn't join. I would stay here again!
Staff is polite, friendly and helpful. Parking options can be printed and the Guests can decide properly Where and How to Park.
Everyone you meet is kind, loving, genuine, and has a heart of purity. I stayed 6 nights, when and if i return, i will stay again, in a heartbeat!
My husband and I stayed here with out three children in one of the family rooms. All of the staff we encountered during out stay were very friendly and helpful. The beds were not the most comfortable, but our children really enjoyed each having their own bed while on vacation. The location is also really convenient to a lot of restaurants, shopping, and museums. If we ever go back to Quebec, we will definitely stay here again.
It was perfect. Before check in or after check out, they let you use the whole premises, lockers, kitchen, common area.. great staff, great service, and awesome atmosphere.. I have bookmarked the place now
Awesome place in the heart of the city
Disappointing
Stained towels, bathrooms not cleaned once during a stay of several nights, no toilet paper in washroom - informed front desk and they did not care. Building needs repair, there was a hole in the floor of the room. If you book a female dorm beware, they may suddenly give a bed in your room to a man during your stay.
Over night trip
Didn't like the fact that there were no vending machines and if you wanted coffee you had to pay a nominal fee: should be free.
Great hostel located in the centre of Old Quebec City. One block from Rue Saint-Jean and a close walk to Theatre Capitole. This is a hostel so do not expect the Hilton. Had a single room with a private bathroom. Good sized room, comfortable bed. Lots of warm linens and a spare blanket though the room temperature was perfect. Definitely would use the hostel as a home base again. Quiet, old historical building situated on the corner intersection of two steeets.
Enjoyed the stay very much
Pocket friendly and safe place to have short stay.Tye place is really huge with multiple rooms and options to choose from either you need private room or couple room or dormitory rooms so much.. the place has cafe and dancing room to have engagement with French culture.
very friendly.
Just so well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the free coffee in the morning and the theater performers
The room is very simple but clean. The location is good but have a steep slope. If you have big luggage, it is better to take taxi there.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The WIFI service was really bad.
Hostel I would go back to
Private room with shared bath. Room was clean, cozy, and adequate. Shared bath had 3 showers, toilets and sinks. Hot water was great. Front desk staff made the place. Helpful, friendly and cheery. Free coffee in the am.
Staffs were nice and friendly:) The property was located nearby tourist spots:) Also, this property was located in downtown
Amazing hostel, nice staff, lots going on, enjoyed the free walking tours and cooking facilities; only issue was my food got stolen several times throughout the week when left in the designated basket in the kitchen :( - but overall great experience!
As long as you understand that you’re staying at a hostel that provides no service, the place is very clean with shared bathrooms and no elevator. But its location is right inside the walled Old Quebec so it’s awesome. Or you can pay $300 a night at the Delta or $600 a night at the Chateau Frontenac. Staff is much friendlier to non-French speaking folks, compared to most other places in QC. A great spot to stay if you don’t mind about it being a hostel.
Not so good
Bunk beds in dormitory are bad. The frames are noisy. Morning coffee is on one machine. Clients had to wait in a lineup. I've seen much better hostels for the same price. Cancelled my second night.
Tout était parfait
This place is an amazing find. Excellent location near many cultural sites and lots of cafes. Clean. Wonderful outside patio. I had a single room that was small but bright and comfortable, the front desk people were friendly. I just loved the atmosphere and look forward to another visit. Beware visiting the first two weeks of July. We arrived in the evening, there is an annual festival and the huge parking garage was full. No parking on streets. Otherwise this place is great.
No AC and really noisy beds
Nice place in old quebec.
The place was clean and safe and at a very convenient location
Location location location!
Good location and good service
Beautiful location. Close to shopping and food
Super accueil !!
It was super clean and everyone was friendly!
Amazing location, clean and easy going.
What I like about this property is the location! It's walking distance to train station and right inside Old Quebec City!!
I am a 52 year old single woman from Northern Alberta staying at a hostel for the first time. A little bit worrysome at first but when i got there any fears that I had were completely gone. They are absolutely wonderful there. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are absolutely CLEAN! Same with the shared bathrooms/showers. Everything was perfect. I met Simon the manager there my first night and he shared with me some great local food places to try out and aslo recommended me to take the walking tour. Claude, my tour guide was great. I was the only one who didnt speak french but that wasnt a problem. claud is versitile in both french and English. I spent 2 nights by myself in a shared bedroom. Another woman joined me the 2nd night. very pleasent. Then moved to a private room with private bathroom as my brother came to join me. The private room is so amazzing. Its in the older part of the building. Again very clean and beautiful. I would definately recomment this to anyone. This is located in the best part so close to everything and within walking distance. I highly recommend this place and would definately stay here again.
Nice location and hangout areas for travellers
Loved the location of this hostel, right in the downtown area, many shops and food places are a 2 minute walk away. There is no A/C at this place but they do provide fans, it wasn't too hot when we went so it was okay for us. The room (Family private) was of decent size, the bathroom was also a good size. In terms of cleanliness, it was pretty clean overall, we did find some hair behind the bathroom door. They also do not have fridges in these private rooms but they do have a shared kitchen in the basement of the main building, because we stayed 4 nights we brought our own mini fridge which came in handy for our morning coffees and leftovers. Another downside is that they have no elevators so if you have a lot of stuff there will be a lot of walking up and down stairs, our room was located on the third floor of a connecting building so we had to walk through the main building, up 3 flights of stairs, through a connecting passage to the second building and to our room, because we brought a fridge it was a little tiresome the first day. The staff was really nice, would definitely come back to this hostel if I visit Quebec City. Overall great place!
City centre, friendly, affordable, and clean.
Private room. Was bright and airy. Lots of space. Quiet, we couldn't hear anyone in other rooms. Excellent location in old Quebec
The location is great, right in the old historic city! It is an easy walk to all the sights of the old city. The property is nice. However, my biggest problem was that there was no air conditioning in the rooms. I was there when temperatures were above 33' Celsius and my room was very hot and humid. They did provide fans, but that did not help with the heat. Unfortunately, I had a very difficult time sleeping my two nights at the hostel. I had no idea that summers were that hot in the Quebec City.
It was clean and friendly
A good place to sleep
The rooms met expectations, it was a good place to sleep for the night. Friendly staff, easy check in. Bathroom was in need of some maintenance. Clean and meet my needs.
Very good location for exploring the old town. Wifi was good and bathrooms were very clean.
Great for the price, awesome staff. A bit loud to sleep, but this could just be downtown Quebec! I would stay here the next time I'm in Quebec city as the price and location can't be beat.
Good and affordable stay. Nice location. Close to main attraction. Heart of city
T
Amazing location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent size and clean.
This Hostel is a great option if you're planning to visit the old Québec, near restaurants and shops, the place is clean and the staff is really friendly.
Amazing location and very clean rooms. The staff is very helpful.
The location is excellent in old Quebec and parking is fairly close and reasonably priced. We were very happy with our stay and would come again.
Great service at the front desk, the room was clean and quiet, the bed comfortable. Location was easy and convenient for tourism.
It is not hotel, it is hostel
It is not hotel , it is hostel with bunk bed. Fan can hit guy on upper bed. You can easily lock out. Only one bath amoung so many can delay you
Good Place
Everything was great. Checkin was very quick and easy and for the most part the staff was friendly (some could use a little work but the girl work the overnight shift was super friendly/helpful)
Comfortable, quiet, great location, and inexpensive!
It was alright, the location was good, it was cheap but otherwise nothing special, the amenities were pretty poor, the staff were helpful
Great location! Close to all ammenities and most tourist attractions of Old Quebec. Great food within walking distance.
It is well located and clean. But i did not like the attitude of the managing director who did my checkin. He asked me my address and i said po bix in saint-sauveur city. He tought it was qc city andalmost nit wanted me to check in. Before i was nice to him. I tokd him i came him before and remember him abd happy to come back.finally a subcontractor short white hair with glasses and blue dark jacket abd pants walked in the restaurant and i gad to move out his way abd with out look at me and say exvuse me. Theb he say hello to the girl staff with a big smile... if this is how they treat honest and respectful customer. I will think twuce next time to come back again....
The location is great, check-in was simple, and my stay included complimentary breakfast.
Location is superb. Walking distance to all old town attractions .
Good pero no mucho
The location is perfect but the hostel is no very comfortable. The mattress was super hard and uncomfortable, the towels were not good as well. Overall, the hostel is not awesome but is good, the staff is nice.
We had a room for two with two bunk beds. Room was small but clean and functional. The beds were very comfortable and the room very quiet. Alexandrine at the front desk was authentic, warm and welcoming. The auberge is located within the walls of the old upper city. The location was perfect as a starting point to explore the city. It’s a short walk to the bus and Via train.
