Such a cozy little spot. The room was clean and spacious and charming. Felt like I was at home. Wifi was fast. Fair price. I'd come back anytime.

Pool not available due to deck replacement. We should have been advised.

Rooms needed upgrading. Pillows were lumpy, TV didn't work, no desk to sit at to work, the front door is locked after a certain hour, and the breakfast served too late for us to partake.

Nice place overall but a bit outdated. Close to cute small village called Val David. Nice coffee shops and restaurants. Went to bike on the Petit Train du Nord. Had very nice two days.

The food at the restaurant here is excellent, and the outdoor spa/pool is enjoyable. The room is outdated, needs an upgrade; however, the mattress was new and pleasant.

Perfect stopover after a long day of cycling!!!

After 3 days & 150km of cycling on Petit Train the Auberge du Vieux Foyer was a welcome site, even if we had to cycle uphill. As we had recumbent trikes we could not put them in the secure place in the basement. Instead we locked them up in the hotel's bicycle rental area. We were welcomed in by the front desk & was a quick check in.The room was excellent & I was surprised by the Air Tub. Within a short time I was relaxing in the warm tub with 1000's of bubbles massaging my body. My husband enjoyed the separate shower. The internet signal was strong. Lots of places to plug in charging devises. Air conditioner on the wall was very quiet and easily controlled. The front desk arranged a taxi for our dinner. The breakfast the next day was great. Several hot egg choices plus juices, yogurts, cheeses, home-made jams, fresh fruit and coffee and tea as much as you wanted. I saw that you could also arrange for several body treatments & an outdoor pool was available but not on our plan.

Great place for comfort, friendly staff and the food is good

The room needs renovation (old carpet, old bedspread) but the excellent breakfast, free ski passes and access to a hot tub compensates for the room. And the price is excellent for what you get.

I was very disappointed of the room. Old wall to wall carpeting with carpet joint undone, quite old comforter should be replaced, lamp wabeling. Bathroom,hum, I had to clean the vanity counter myself. I don't think I will be returning for an overnight stay but I might go for a meal, the cuisine is excellent as is the service. Sad that they don't put the same importance in lodging.

Great stay, comfortable room, good and friendly staff. Missed the fall colors peak by about a week, but overall it was great. Will definitely go back possibly this winter for down Hill Skiing in the area.

Bicycles!

L'Auberge du Vieux Foyer is located on a quiet country road about a mile east of the village of Val-David. They offer a large array of well maintained bikes that you can borrow for free during your stay. Take advantage of them; the area is a great place to bike. The road back into Val-David has a bike lane. There's also a small well maintained heated pool and a nice hot tub on the grounds, as well as a horseshoe pitch and a couple of paddle boats that guests are free to use. We (two parents and our son) stayed in one of the detached buildings, not in the main lodge. Our room was pleasant and clean, the bed was comfortable. Nice flat screen TV with cable. There was a hot tub in the bathroom, though we didn't use it. The front desk staff were all exceptionally friendly and humored us by pretending that they could understand our attempts at speaking French; they all speak English perfectly. Though this country inn advertises itself as a spa, this is also a great place to take an active family vacation.

Would return!

Location is great! Comfortable surroundings. Most staff were very welcoming and it was a pleasure to see them day after day. Room carpet was stained and needs to be "refreshed". But overall, I had an enjoyable stay and would return.

They upgraded the rooms. Lovely place. Bike's are free. One canoe and a couple of petal boats on a very small body of water. Pools small. Whirlpool was nice. Fridge in the room, coffee and tea. The hotel restaurant's food was very good, but under staffed on a busy weekend. Get out and bike ride, railroad trail goes from town to town, get out and enjoy it. St Agatha has a very large lake and restaurants to explore, French, Italian and even German food. Concerts on Saturday in the summer bring a lawn chair. Boating on the Lake. Mont Tremblant is 45-50 minutes away, must see. And St Jovite (40 minutes) has some restaurants.

Beautiful neighbourhood

Our room was too small and sofa bed was not comfortable at all. i loved the pool hot tub.

Overall it was good but the room location did not give us privacy, it was right on top of the reception!

main building is fine but rooms in samll units are very basic, smell is terrible in room, no view, by the road....feels like a motel

Such a lovely weekend getaway! We stayed in the deluxe room, enjoyed the warmth of our electric fireplace, while soaking in the jetted tub, ate a delicious multi-course dinner, and relaxed in the spa. The staff was fabulous, immediately changing our booking when we realized we had reserved for the wrong night, thus, from beginning to end, we felt as though we had found refuge from the daily grind.

Good value.

I would recommend this hôtel for its good value for the price. The staff was welcoming, the breakfast was good and the Spa was a great addition to our stay.

very very noisy iotel

very nioisy hotel, calm began at 11H30pm, but at 6am, noise was back and we cannot sleep at all.Spa conveniance were excellente but if y9u want te relax, you ear persons in the beside room

Rooms are ok, but the hot tub is near the bed. So if one would like privacy, the other will need to leave the room. Rooms are comfortable and equip with air conditioning is a plus. Different room's categories so not all rooms will come with what's indicated on hotels,com. In a nutshell, its ok for a couple of nights.

La chambre était confortable. Le personnel était attentif. Le restaurant était correct, dans mon souvenir, c’était meilleur.

Nice Room

The room is very comfortable. The temperature in the room was on the high side, and this was just caused by the starter flame from the gas fireplace. I noticed a lot of rooms were using the airconditioning thru the night. I opened the outside door to cool things. Maybe have an electronic fire place starter installed, so the heat from the fireplace only gets in when you need it. Bed was great, Bubble bath excellent. Breakfast great. Overall perfect.

La chambre était ordinaire, un lit double. Le service était impeccable le déjeuner très bon avec de la variété.

Personnel très accueillant Foyer allumé en permanence, nous avons dû dormir avec l’air climatisé, alors que la température extérieure était parfaite!

Plus, la piscine.. Moins, la chambre.

Efficacité du personnel

La chambre ,les passages et salle à manger ainsi que la réception étaient très propres. Il y avait un problème dans la salle de bain. En effet, la toilette suintait et le plancher était en partie couvert d'eau. La salle de bain aurait avantage à être rénovée ainsi que les fenêtres et leur habillement. Nourriture ,toujours excellente et les serveuses très sympathiques. Lit très confortable

Notre chambre était situé dans une bâtisse près du site ou se trouve tout l'aménagement côté spa et la terrasse alors nous n'avions pas pu apprécier l'environnement. La chambre était propre, le site, très beau. Ma déception fut que la salle à manger était complète pour le souper alors nous avons été obligés de trouver un resto au village (Le Boucannier) et c'était parfait. Le déjeuner était inclus et c'était très bon et le service était cordial. Je n'ai pas apporté de costume de bain, car il était indiqué qu'il y avait des frais supplémentaires alors que c'était faux et que j'aurais pu utiliser les services du spa. Le personnel m'a donc avisé qu'il est préférable d'appeler avant de nous rendre pour avec les infos exactes. Je me disais qu'avec le manque de personnel, il serait plus sage de s'assurer de spécifier ces informations sur le site, mais bon. Appelez avant de vous rendre!

L'auberge était propre et le personnel bien intentionné, le lit était confortable, mais les équipements sont vieux et défraichis.

La nourriture est bonne, les plats sont copieux. La chambre, foyer non fonctionnel, réception télé très mauvaise (réception avisée et rien n'a été fait), accessoire de salle de bain rouillé, tapis de la chambre très abîmé. Cet endroit a besoin de rénovation....

Service décevant

L'ensemble des services reçus ont été décevants. Bien que la chambre ait été prête tôt en après midi et que le site est enchanteur, le service tellement médiocre reçu me laisse un goût amer.À la réception tout d'abord, on me m'explique pas les heures pour ke repas du soir ni qu'une réservation n'est requise. Ce n'est que lorsque je me déplace pour avoir une serviette de piscine qu'on me dit que je dois absolument faire une réservation pour le soir et ce rapidement. Je semble déranger lorsque je dis que je vais revenir pour réserver une heure précise. La toilette dans la chambre fait un bruit intense et il me faut replacer la chasse à chaque utilisation. Le pire fut le service reçu au souper. Toit d'aborsd on m'explique qu'il n'est pas avantageux pour moi de prendre seulement 2 entrées puisque j'ai droit au repas 4 services. Enfin, c'est ce qu'on me dit jusqu'à ce que je reçois la facture qui me confirme que cela aurait été mieux de réellement juste prendre mes 2 entrées. Ensuite, à la fin du repas, j'ai dû attendre entre 30-40 min et jamais on est venu me voir pour le dessert et café. J'ai dû me lever et aller à la station des serveurs pour demander. Et là, la demande fut comprise de façon erronée à deux reprises et le service du dessert et du café a encore pris un bon 10 minutes. L'erreur n'a pas été rattrapé. Finalement, le cappuccino servi n'était pas digne de ce nom (pas de mousse) mais on m'a quand même chargé 3.75$ pour ce café qui n'était pas ce que j'avais commandé

Personnel très accueillant. Respect aux mesures pour le Covid (salle à manger et distanciation des chaises longues à l'extérieur et dans la salle à manger ainsi que la désinfection et massage très apprécié et le spa ****.

Le cadre est très calme, les chambres individuelles donnent sur la forêt, c’est reposant. La piscine est aussi très agréable.

La beauté des lieux, la neige et la multitude de piste de ski de fond.

Un séjour magnifique en amoureux

Le fait d’avoir tout sur le site hébergement, restaurant, Spa. Aussi même si on a quitté notre chambre on peut profiter du Spa, casier et douches disponibles. Ce qui m’a déplu, c’est qu’on n’a pas eu de chance,le bain tourbillon ne fonctionnait pas. C’est des choses qui peuvent arriver... mais le plus absurde c’est que la salle de repos ferme lorsqu’il y a un massage dans une pièce à côté de la salle de repos, vraiment fâchant lorsqu’on a une longue route à faire pour retourner à la maison, une petite sieste aurait bien été appréciée...

Nous étions dans la nature, l'emplacement est bien. La chambre était vraiment ordinaire, il devrait y avoir une modernisation. Le souper table d'hôte a manqué, 1 plat sur 2. Les fils électriques pendaient sur le mur et les prises surchargées. Bien déçu. 🤔

Notre chambre sentait la cigarette à plein nez... tapis déchiré dans la chambre... décor vieillissant. Spa en réparation... séjour décevant! Seul baume lors de notre séjour, choix de confitures aux saveurs maison.

Les installations physiques ont un grand besoin d'entretien. Notre chambre état vraiment trop petite, vue sur un toît défréchi! salle de bain marque porte serviette, trous dans les murs ...désolant! Cependant la nourriture état excellente.

Très belle endroit pour une escapade en couple ,la nourriture excellente au point d’acheter vos confitures et caramel pour la maison 😋 La chambre charmante et bien équipée. Les services et opportunités d’activités très intéressantes , nous sommes aller marcher au parc comme proposer et ce fut très agréable et après fait dû pédalo ,,,l’opportunité du vélo aussi . Pour nous un super bon qualité prix . Le personnel très accueillant et professionnel Nous avons beaucoup aimé C’est pour nous une première et à refaire Merci à vous xxx

Tres bonne nourriture de choix.Grande propreté, personnel très courtois ,endroit paisible, décor original, Chambres fonctionnelles , nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre sejour.

L'air climatisé était défectueuse dans la chambre et menait un bruit de fou. Sans fan ni air climatisé les bruits environnants étaient trop dérangeants pour permettre une bonne nuit de sommeil. Après discussion avec une employée, elle n'avait plus d'autres chambres de libre, ni de fan sur pied pour nous aider. Le lendemain nous en avons discuté avec un autre employé. Celui-ci nous a mentionné qu'il en parlerait avec le propriétaire pour trouver une forme d'accommodation, mais nous n'avons jamais eu de retour par la suite. Cela était notre 2e fois à cette hotel. Notre première expérience était super, mais cette fois-ci nous nous aurions attendu minimalement à un retour de la part du propriétaire.
