Stay away from this hotel
When we arrived in the room the bathroom was dirty like it’s not been clean since the last visitor was there. Dirty towels, toothpaste in the sink, booger on the wall, black dirt in the bath tub.. Very disgusting and when we told this to the manager, she offer another room for the night. We took a look in the other room but surprisingly it was dirty too, not as much as the first one, they don’t have a high standard to clean the room. We quit after the visit of the second room, stay far from this hotel !! Don’t waste you time and money.
Don’t fall for the cute pictures. It’s a scam.
False reprensation. Nothing near what the pictures look like. The « superior » room looked like a motel room and stunk of it too. The shower was dirty. The people at the front desk, which seem to be the owners, speak neither French nor English.
Excellent place to stay.
Ok
.
This was lovely and we were able to stay two nights. It was very special. The room was as advertised, clean, and perfect for our needs. We traveled to the area to take the tour at Les Jardins de Quartre-Vents. This Auberge was so conveniently close to the jardins and was in a wonderful area to explore.
Worst Internet since my dial up days. Bathroom although clean, had a rubber bath mat that was disgusting.
My husband and I had booked 3 nights there. We were greeted by the owner, who had a big smile and was very welcoming. However, it soon became clear that she was unable to communicate more than a few words in either French or English so we were unable to ask her questions or express any concerns about our accommodation, which was frustrating. She was not even able to explain what was served for breakfast, and just kept pointing at a sign that said 'petit déjeuner'. I tried in both English and French, but her answers were monosyllablic/incomprehensible. Fortunately, the next day we discovered that her son seemed to be able to at least string a few words together into sentences in both languages, so I recommend that she appoints him to deal with guests instead. However, this was not the only issue. The fridge was dirty and the room we were given was clearly not the one I had booked...the room bore little resemblance to photos when booking. Also, we found that neither the curtains nor the sheets had been ironed and the doors and windows were so difficult to open and close. Also, my husband and I had booked 3 nights, but we had only been left 3 pods for the coffee machine. When we went the second night (Friday) to ask the son for more coffee, he told us there would be no more coffee until the delivery on Monday! (Luckily, he found a couple of pods, but declared that this was 'the last of the last'!) Anyway, I will say that the location was nice...but much better service needed.
Place is a dump, and the owners are very unfriendly. My room had no air conditioning and no fans. It was 87 degrees in the room and it only cooled down when night came. Pics of the property show like a new place but it’s got to be 60-70 years old. Never again
Not sure if the staff spoke English but they certainly dis mot speak French and had a hard time making out my name as reserved. The room appeared to be in the middle of a renovation. It was located right across from the reception desk and public bathroom. Carpet was dingy and stapled to the floor. A live wire hung from the wall in the bathroom. No backup toilet paper, kleenex or hair dryer. The curtains were hanging 6" at least from the windows so the porch lights shone brightly inside at night. The air conditioning unit was not installed. There is more but I will leave it at that.
Good for the price and has free parking!
It was a very nice stay for the night. The staff was really friendly and the room was clean. What's good about it, it's that for an auberge it had a full bathroom and sink in each room which was really nice and they also offer breakfast. These days finding a hotel at a raisonnable Price can be hard so this is a great alternative if you wanna save money. I would recommend!!
Hôtel so so
Hôtel has no air conditioning just a fan. Pictures are showing a very nice new hotel, but not accurate. Not soundproof at all we had to listen to voices all night.
It appears the property is being taken over by a young couple working to revive it. The various cottages and buildings are in rough shape. The lawns are mess and photos shown are deceptive. The breakfast is limited at best. Our room was very clean, however not made up on our second day. Too much work and not enough staff.
Grosse surprise!
Outside of town. The clerk was not speaking english
We received a friendly welcome. Cosy bed in a cute room at the top af a house/hotel. Basic breakfast . Enjoyed our stay.
Inept communication of both official languages. Wifi did not work in annex that we stayed. Breakfast was awful, no coffee, no hot water for tea and no visible service, even though I kept calling and looking for someone. Although the room was clean, it was the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at. Where on earth did the 3 stars come from?
Very clean. Great people. The room was very small just enough room to walk around the bed
Never again!
The property is an old building but well maintained and surrounded by a lovely lawn. The continental breakfast was served buffet style in a bright clean dining room.
Malbaie xx
Staff was fantastic. Help us find activities in the area
This hostel is very nice, comfortable and located not far from La Malbaie downtown; breakfast could be improved.
The hotel needs a major refreshment. It hasn't been done since the 90's (at least). The bed is however very comfortable.
Very small room and bathroom
Everything is great except the bathroom is too small and the sink is outside the bathroom.
Hiking in Quebec
Went hiking in area.
cold breakfast no chambermaid
Beautiful setting, comfortable and well-equipped rooms, friendly staff.
My room was in the Annex on the second floor facing the river. It was lovely! Comfortable bed, wood fireplace, lovely view of the full moon on the river. The breakfast could be a bit improved. The croissants were often stale but the raspberry jam is to die for!!! Will definitely go back!
The room was not as nice as I thought it would be. I think the property is due for an update
It was amazing
Super clean and staff was friendly! Beautiful scenery, loved the experience!
I would not recommend staying here. It cost over $500 for two nights for one person in a very basic room that was half empty and totally characterless. It no longer has a restaurant. Upon arrival, reception was cold and unwelcoming. Breakfast was awful and the staff very unfriendly and curt. The only part of the place that was pleasant was the front verandah.
Great little place tucked away in a quiet street.
Excellent view
Room was tiny with view to a rock wall 20 ft. away. Window could not be closed. Minuscule bathroom. Asked for a room with better view and was told that because we made reservation through Expedia we could not get a better room. Extremely limited breakfast. The facility does not deserve more than 2 stars!!
Lovely character
This inn was nicely located and very clean. We only stayed one night but we would definitely stay there again if we are in the area. Very convenient to Les Jardins les Quatre-Vents - a 2 minute drive.
Room too small
Nice staff, clean room, would stay here again.
The premises itself was in o.k. condition and the ground nice. But the room was exceptionally small. The town was scenic and full of excellent restaurants. It made up for the disappointment of a very small room.
No exaggeration the smallest hotel room I have ever seen, and also the biggest rip off in terms of value. It was basically a closet. Also limited heat control- had everything turned down to coldest it could be but room was still too hot. Opened the windows to cool down and the screens were broken, held together with tape and let multiple flies in that were buzzing around as we tried to sleep. You are way better off finding the cheapest motel you can find- You’ll have a better room and save $100 per night. Breakfast was the only thing not terrible.
I liked everything about this place They made me feel right at home Yes I would stay here again
Quaint inn in Cap-A-L'Aigle
This inn (auberge) is really nice, with a great view of the water from our terrace. Everything has been recently renovated: the bathroom is outstanding and the bed is great. A nice breakfast is included in the price. Only suggestion: to vary the breakfast a little from day to day.
Originally room offered was extremely small, with 2 pc. bathroom and wash sink in the bed room. We did not accept that and were offered a larger room, similar bath room arrangement, and charged an upgrade cost.
A beautiful property as advertised with views of the St-Laurence, but we ended up with a view of a cliff 20 feet from our window with a highway overhead, and paid full fare for it.
Very welcoming. Nice views. Comfortable bed. Had a nice breakfast.
Musty old place...needs an update, no air conditioning...staff is fine. Continental breakfast is ok at best....and waaay out in nowhere.
Traditional, clean, efficient, nice breakfast. Friendly staff.
Very nice I would come there again.
Amazing service, room was decent, only thing missing was AC.
Really disappointed. This was the most expensive of all properties I stayed at during my 10-day vacation in Gaspésie and Charlevoix, and yet it had the most delapitated room of all. Bathroom was unrenovated (unlike pictures). Mattress had no bed bug cover. There was a mysterious spray of liquid on the toilet’s seat when I got there. Overall this is a downscale property offering old motel amenities at upscale hotel prices. I’ll pass next time.
The location in the village is perfect with easy access to the marina and beaches and the Church of St Peter on the Rock. Staff are very hospitable and efficient. Breakfast was perfect and coffee was hot and bottomless
Our room was pretty small and not at all luxurious. The hotel itself was fine, pretty average. The staff were excellent , helpful and friendly
i enjoyed the stay in this cozy hotel all was good and very kind staff on reception.
The property was beautifully decorated, but contrary to the website there wasn’t a patio area to sit outside.
the room was very nice!
Very cosy, comfortable Room. Disappointed that the dining rooom closed in 2018.
Very friendly, quaint
Great Comfort with a beautiful view
A very comfortable, spacious, and tastefully decorated room with a gorgeous view of the St. Lawrence River. Given Covid restrictions, breakfast was very good with delicious pastries and honey, eggs, cheese, etc. The location is perfect, in a quiet, pretty village only five minutes from La Malbaie and its many services and restaurants .
very quiet, comfort king bed. standard breakfast can stuff you very well. shower is very nice. pics is misleading, check the square feet instead of imaging the size through pictures. river view doesnt mean you are next to river, you can just see some river from one of the 3 windows.
Très bon service. Chambre propre et bien garnie. Superbe vue sur le fleuve. Très bon déjeunez. Terrasse pour prendre un verre de vin.
Great location with great breakfast.
The auberge was very clean and so lovely. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were all so friendly. The room was a little small but overall a great property. Thank you!!!
Very good breakfast, fresh and substantial, buffet well organized. The bed was very comfortable it the room is very small. Good staff, quick response to our demands. There was a problem with the toilet and they quickly sent somebody to look after the problem. Good location and easy to get to it.
Cleanness, excellent staff, good service. Delicious local breakfast and beautiful view. Exceeded all our expectations. We recommend this place to our friends.
The room is tiny. With one bed, you don’t have much space. I even felt difficult to turn around in the room. The property is old and not well maintained. The bedding is just basic, with probably cheap pillows that are not comfortable. The surrounding of the hotel is pretty. What I like most about this hotel is the breakfast. It was really good.
There’s no air conditioner in very hot summer
Very peaceful and relaxing setting. Do need to drive out for restaurants. Rooms are very basic. Breakfast buffet is adequate.
Lovely breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Property not fancy but very comfortable.
Excellent breakfast, helpful staffs. No air conditioning
Very quiet and peaceful; lovely views and old charm. Excellent breakfast
Chosen for a one night romantic escapade, would come back again.
Good quiet location, friendly staff, great breakfast.
Very pretty location, and excellent customer service at check -in. We drove from Montreal and arrived here quite late with our kids tired and sleepy. Oliver at the check-in counter was very helpful and pleasant, went out of his way to help us with tips on local attractions. We had booked 2 rooms, both rooms were very comfortable and clean. I had read critical reviews prior to arrival and had expected to find issues. Both rooms were much better than I expected, with comfortable beds and very clean rooms. Have not had breakfast yet, but I wanted to put in review about my great check experience.
Nice Auberge stayed there many times
Everything was the same perfect, except the Jacuzzi hot tub was broken, very disappointing. After a long day of hiking in the Grands-Jardins a good hot soak is all we wanted. Oh well next time, I will make sure before I book.
No accommodation for early chech out. Cramped room
Beautiful place in Charlevoix
My spouse and I really enjoyed our stay, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The only negative point would be the breakfast. You are offered a hot or Continental but the hot was not available, the waitress was alone and could not cook eggs. The continental breakfast was very good but never replenished other than that I will definitely go back and with friends!
Old, dated property, but clean and adequate room. Friendly staff, easy parking, quiet.
Nice spot in rural area
lovely spot, very nice people working there
As we saw it
Friendly service and facilities as listed, but the room (#40) with a slanting ceiling and small double bed was much too uncomfortable and not worth the price.
Quebec country weekend
We stayed here for the weekend, as we had heard La Malbaie was a nice seeside town with good tourist shops and local artists. Unfortunately this wasn't the case with very little for tourists. Outside of the town whalewatching was themain attraction, with nice countryside worth touring. The hotel was very confortable and well positioned for these activities.
Friendly inn but isolated
The bilingual staff were extremely nice. The lovely scent of the lavender growing on the property perfumed the air. The view from our room of the St. Lawrence River was lovely, but the furnishings in the room were quite worn. The inn was quite isolated and not near any other restaurants or entertainment, and the road into town was not well lit. The dinner we had at the restaurant on the premises was gourmet quality, but there is no option if you feel like an inexpensive lighter meal.
Exceptionally helpful and pleasant staff. Lovely, quiet location with a beautiful view of the St. Lawrence. Dinner well worth the price--the beignets are to die for.
too far out of town
Fairly pleasant area but too far from town, restaurant expensive and location limts alternatives, room price high for what you get, sink in bedroom instead of bathroom, fan instead of AC but not needed, quiet area, close to and viewing river.
tinny rooms
Hotel OK, room very very small...almost could not fit our two suitcases.
Rather expensive auberge - room confortable but had no air conditionning - thank god it was cool and the windows allowed enough air in but since the highway is just behind it got noisier as time went on in the morning. Good restaurant but expensive.

We really enjoyed our stay at Nuage Hotel. I had originally booked for 2 nights, but as we liked the place we decided to stay an extra night. It is an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area. We were able to visit Île aux Coudres, Malbaie, and Tadoussac. When we arrived, the room was very clean, comfortable and charming. The place has a lot of character, it’s one of the oldest historic buildings in the area, from what I’ve read. We were able to enjoy the beautiful view of the river to start the new year off right! Some common areas appeared to be under renovation during our stay at the hostel, so they were not accessible at that time. I can’t wait to go back and stay there during the summer season to see what it will be like! When I returned to town, I realized that I had forgotten some valuable personal belongings, and the lady in charge was very friendly, she was very quick and responsive to help me retrieve my belongings. I really appreciated his help! Thank you very much for your stay at the Nuage hotel, we will be back!
