Great find!
This is an excellent find in Quebec City. The location is fantastic. The street has a lot of restaurants, bars, and shopping. And it is just a 10 minute walk from Old Town. Our room had everything we needed and it was quiet and clean. 10/10 and we’ll be staying there again next time we visit!
We loved the room and service, the location was perfect, really close to downtown
good
No staff onsite, got a bit lost.
Nice stay!
Very nice location, the hotel uses ekeys (which is amazing) no need for check-in or out! Quick response when you call them! They are kind and helpful!
Good stay.
Propre, calme , service a1, bon tarifs, bien situé près des restos et des boutiques en plein coeur du centre ville avec beaucoup de cachet.
*self check in/check out but accessible by phone and text *Small parking garage about a 4 minute walk from hotel. If you have a full size SUV this garage is probably too small *Small convenient store directly next door was nice *Multiple options for food and drinks nearby *20 minute walk to downtown *No breakfast *Very clean, quiet, comfortable, and spacious hotel. My room was excellent.
Facile d'accès et belle chambre de style non commerciale.
Clean, cozy and close to old Quebec City
oct stay
The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Found the place noisy. We could hear the occupants in the next room just talking normally.
Clean, comfortable beds, updated rooms, and nice location, but customer service was difficult to reach. Phones provided in room and common area did not work with the contact number for customer service. Also, there were no signs or instructions that there was a common area and kitchen available for use on an upper level. No available drinking water or hair dryer.
Big room; loved the shared dining room, living room and kitchen. View from the roof top deck was superb!
Very clean. Upper floor is not good for people with mobility issues because there is no elevator. We loved our private deck with a view.
Easy parking as recommended, very closeby. Beautiful walk to the old town. Perfect breakfast place a few moments walk. Clean room, lovely layout, great shower, rooftop, and windows overlooking the streets. Quiet at night. Loved it!
Great place for a day. Parking is an issue as they have very limited parking..so had to park in a public parking, but apart from that no complaints!
Great neighborhood and communication for contactless check in. Thank you.
There is no staff on property but they are very helpful if you contact them. There are parking options in near parking garages but be prepared, you might go uphill to the hotel so is you have heavy luggage you might drop them off before park the car at parking garages nearby.
Mixed filling about this stay
I have mixed feelings about this stay. Very very unusual place. It has some positive vibes and some negative. First, very convenient location close to all attractions, not super perfect but worth the price. A lot of restaurants around. Rooms are clean, beds and pillows are again worth the price. No elevator, no parking, no service desk and no WiFi for one day (fixed next day). Service is texting you entry code to the building and your room. If you have 50 pounds travel bag, good luck to bring it to second or third (!) floor with very narrow stairs. If you travel by car, good luck to find the parking nearby, if you travel by car over 6’, good luck to find the parking somewhere. You cannot walk inside the room in your shoes, that is the rule there. The room looks like you are somewhere in Europe, with sink inside the room, small toilet/shower room. Floor is uneven inside the room, but rooms are spacey. I had the strong fillings for two nights that something is wrong structurally with the building. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place at all, even with all efforts the management is trying to apply. For me it ‘s overpriced. Our hotels in Montreal and Ottawa were better with the same price. Try to look at the different place to stay.
Great place to stay. Our 2nd stay here and we look forward to a return stay. Check-in easy, clean comfy rooms. Very much recommend
Budget stay for couples on cool street
The hotel was fine for what we needed. It does not offer the amenities of a chain hotel but it is a clean place to rest your head. Note that the hotel is old without an elevator, which was a surprise for us. Other than that, it’s clean and well located.
This is our second stay here and we really enjoy it, would stay again if we come back to Quebec City.
This property is a lovely old building that has been well cared for and updated. It is very clean and comfortable, and is well supplied with everything we need. We’re happy we found it.
Very clean, but rustic, quirky and basic. Since it was self check-in, did not interact with any staff. Responses to my queries were not very efficient, in that they were slow and information was inaccurate. Location was convenient for my work function, but otherwise, I would not necessarily return.
Nice
Fabuleux endroit
Aucune insonorisation… Bel endroit quand même
Price is good in regards to situation
Nothing, they do not pick up the phone when I called many times and they do not even return the call as I was not able to find the room because there are two stairs. One that lead to rooms 1 to 7 and another one from another door that lead to rooms 9 and 10. I was confused and did not know that and I was calling them but no response after more than 10 calls. It is very bad
Great location
Bien que je n'aie pas rencontré le personnel, excellent service via texto. Je n'avais pas Internet et le problème a été réglé rapidement. Endroit super propre, très tranquille, à distance de marche de plusieurs restos. Je vais revenir c'est sûr. Merci!
Good place to stay, there is no reception but the staff is very responsive with requests. They provide Nespresso coffee and milk in the fridge. There is everything in the kitchen for you to have your meals. Very well organised We had room 1 and it was a double room very clean but there was some drain sewer odour coming back with were very unpleasant. Also it is quite noisy between the rooms and we can hear everything about the other guests in other rooms This is why I cannot put 5 stars to the experience
A beautifully restored quriky old building on a street full of shops, beer bars, and restaurants. An easy walk to the Old Town, the Plains of Abraham and the St Roch neighborhood. We had a great view from our balcony and the rooftop deck. No staff on premises but they are very responsive and friendly by phone. A few minor issues: there are only two comfortable chairs in the whole place (in the common area). The lamps by the bed are not good for reading. Beds are comfy except for heavyweight comforters in the summer. Overall, a very pleasant place but they could make the common area (and the rooms) a lot more comfortable and inviting with the addition of a couch and a few more upholstered chairs.
Love the rooftop and
Great location and very comfortable beds!
Back Packer Hotel
The staff is VERY friendly and did everything to facilitate. However, this is more like back packer place. The parking is available at a distance. No restaurant (though there are plenty in the area). Room size is small. The most inconvenient part for me was you could hear all the noise if someone is walking in his/her room in the floor above you.
Like the location and rooftop view. Walkable to everything. Would be nice if there was an elevator- steep staircase with suitcases is rough. Our room was very tight- door hits bed getting in/out of the room. The bed was not a queen size- was a maybe a full size- very small for my 6’, 275lb husband and myself. The floor of our room has a 25degree slant whixh I. Turn made the bed slant- felt like we were sliding off the tiny bed! The toilet was very tight space-need to sit nearly sideways! The shower was a good size & had great water pressure, although it smelled of constant sewer gas when water was not running. The common areas and kitchen were nice and clean. Parking in the garage was nearby, but be aware that it is Very crowded and very tight to get in/out. The communication with the booking staff is excellent, very responsive.
Great Location. Comfy bed. Lovely hot shower. Hotel could do with a little updating but keeping the character of the building.
Great location, reasonable price, bright and colourful decor, close to restaurants and shopping just 25 minutes from Old Quebec -highly recommended!
Cozy
Small room/bathroom, but so cozy and nice. In the city so lots of walking options. No elevator, no staff on premises. Tight parking, but nice to park off Main Street.
Cute clean auberge hotel. Easy self checkin and awesome service by text! The room was cosy, the bed and sheets very comfortable and the towels crispy. I enjoyed teas in the common area and the Nespresso machine in the room. Restaurants, bars and Carnaval, just couple of minutes on foot. A convenience store is located on street level. I recommend Chez Victor for juicy burgers and cocktails and Bonnet d'âne for brunch.
very clean and well located, nothing wrong really..
A very nice and comfortable room. Very well organized and no issues with checking in electronically. But parking was off site, not so great in -20C conditions, but great in the summer. Wifi was HORRIBLE!!. 8mbps.. that is not acceptable anywhere in today's world.
Very disappointed stayed here last year and it was amazing this year seems like new ownership and everything went virtual there is no one at the hotel I felt like it was a ghost town ., too bad because the location is good but there is absolutely no service calling someone on the phone is not the same thing !!!
Very nice place. I recommend for stay.
More like an airBNB than a hotel.
The suite was very nice but a few things to take into account: 1. (Not taking any points off but be aware) - not accessible. Long stairs to get suitcases up. Just be aware 2. Practically no staff on prem - I met the cleaning lady once (only speaks spanish) and the recrption only on check out day 3. No shoes in the house - has its pros and cons so decide if you like it Now for the stuff that we really did not like - staff (lack of) support. Since staff is not available all contact is on phone. There is someone answering and trying to help but they are just not there so we ran into 2 problems: 1. We wanted an extra blanket and they promissed to provide next day (and did not). Called again the day later and the lady was nice and did deliver one after her shift 2. We wanted to print a boarding pass and the mapped printer was not to be found. Spoke to a gentleman who was nice, asked to send by mail and promised to print and bring it to us (but it was never delivered). So - don't expect any help if you need something. To me its a big drawback. And last - I had a package delivered from Amazon and it was nowhere to be found. When I saw the receptionist the one time I asked. Her response was - I don't know of any packages, its your problem, we are not responsible. I later saw the delivery picture and msnaged to understand it was left in the outside mailbox near the other door but the response I got was really not only not helpful but, in fact, bordering on rude. So - not a hotel.
Nice clean room with a tiled floor. Smart use of space creating more openness than a typical hotel room especially considering the slanted roof design. Small dining table with chairs was great for a daily breakfast delivered to the door. Bathroom sink is tiny for one person only but there is a shelf to put the stuff on. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Overall, enjoyed our stay! My only recommendation is to tidy up some cosmetic signs of tear and wear - freshening up bathroom caulk, replacing old closet mirror doors, touching up some paint, greasing the squeaky doors, and having a choice of fuller pillows.
Good area for shopping and has very good restaurants near the property ! Breakfast was really good and the room was spacious. The view from the balcony was beautiful!
Near of many good places
Un petit trésor
Quelle belle découverte! Un hôtel tout près du Vieux-Québec, charmant, chaleureux. Les hôtes sont accueillants. Les déjeuners sont excellents.
Excellent service, very clean and comfortable room. Very good breakfast
Grateful for your Hospitality
Owner Joe was very accommodating, gracefully offering the use of the common rooms after checkout, allowing me to complete some work. Thank you!
Staff and owners were awesome. Prompt responses through Expedia messaging from Joe; spotless, quiet, air conditioned suite; amazing view from rooftop patio; delicious continental breakfast delivered to room at exact time requested (best croissants ever!); lovely private balcony table and chairs for breakfast; fridge in room; access to freezer in common area/breakfast area. Charming, quaint Chateau. Although there are 2-3 flights of steep, narrow stairs, there are good railings and Tristan carried our luggage to our room. Interesting area with lots of cafe and restaurant choices. Offsite parking was close and worked well. Very walkable to Saint Jean Gate of walled city. We are seniors (late 60s/70) and we loved our stay here. Most comfortable and loved being close to pubs, shops and many food choices of Chateau area and Old Quebec. Highly recommend this quaint Chateau!
Absolutely lovely. Breakfast is delivered to your door every morning! You will struggle a bit with the luggage up the stairs
I had a great stay with my partner at this property. We were only able to stay for one night on our way out east, but were able to make use of the rooftop terrace (great view of the city) and tour the surrounding areas. The hotel is very well located, close to great bars and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and accommodating - Joe was a delight! The breakfast was incredible and COVID friendly (delivered to our door, we could eat in our room, in the the dining room or on the terrace… wherever we felt comfortable), which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Amazing stay at this Auberge! Super clean, cute and unique rooms and bits of history, situated on a fun and vibrant street close to everything and wonderful breakfast included. Have been here twice and will keep staying here every time I visit Quebec City. Jocelyn the owner is very kind and accommodating, with great tips on the city! A must!
A lot of stairs with easy access and nice location
Good experience. Nice B&B in good condition. Location good about 20 mins walk to old town
Très bien situé, très propre et agréable. Plusieurs restaurants et commerces dans les alentours.
Charming facility with high ceilings & lots of sunlight, amiable & accommodating staff, central location with easy walk or bus connection.
The owners who run this inn are wonderful. Great attention to detail and making each guest feel special.
What a great BnB I highly recommend for any occasion
Nice Hotel. Very comfortable bed and nice clean room. Would stay again.
We booked this hotel to extend our stay in Quebec City at the end of an Amtrak tour. Apparently, we had mistakenly double booked for one night. When we arrived at the Auberge, we were told we would have to pay for the night we missed as well as for the night we planned to stay there. We were willing to do that but the bill they presented for two nights was at $60 per night more than the price we thought we had booked. It seemed unlikely that we would have booked for the higher price since it was only $10 less than it would have cost us to book another night at the 4-star hotel we had stayed at on the tour. The owner simply responded, rather arrogantly, that it was our error and that we would have to pay full price for two nights to stay that night. I went onto Expedia which showed 7 rooms available at the Auberge at $60 less per night that the owner wanted to charge us (not coincidentally the price we thought we had booked - this was shoulder season). The owner responded: “I will make you a deal. You pay (full price) for the night you missed and leave the premises immediately.” I could have told him to shove it but it was conceivable that we had made the double error. We paid for the one night at the high season rate and left. Fair enough that the owner didn’t want to bear the cost of our mistake. Not at all fair that he was determined to extract the greatest possible advantage from our mistake. Later that night the Auberge still had half a dozen rooms available.
We booked Auberge Chateau des Tourelles for a three night stay in Quebec City. The hotel is well situated in a quiet part of Rue St. Jean, but walking distance to excellent pubs and restaurants and the charming old city of Quebec. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast (included with our room) was made to order and delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
I like the owner homemade breakfast, cleanliness and price. Available parking is definitely a plus!
Breakfast was superb. Great shower. Loved the old building and the neighborhood. Easy and scenic walking distance to Old Quebec. Lots of places to eay and shop. Very nice owner. Beautiful part of city.
The perfect place to base our four-day visit to Quebec City. Staff were great and the owner was also the chef for fabulous breakfasts. All very helpful with solid recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc. Superbly located on St. Jean, in a “real” neighborhood with lots of fun restaurants, shops, markets. A ten minute walk to the old city.
Great Location and Homemade Breakfast
Outstanding location, just outside the city wall and easy walking distance to Plains of Abraham. Highly recommend. Wonderful, cooked to order breakfast! Nice ambience in an old (1895) restored house. It has the bed and breakfast feel. You do need to be able to climb stairs.
Good location, excellent service. very happy to stay here.
Great place to stay.Friendly staff-very clean. Good breakfast.15 minute walk to Old City.Lots of restaurants nearby.
Auberge Chateau des Tourelles
The spiral staircase is hard to navigate with luggage; my husband was able to do so. It is more like a B&B. Each room is different. The mattress was ok. Only one trash basket in the bathroom; a second one in the bedroom is needed. Daily breakfast is included. Staff is only there until 7pm; they are friendly and helpful. They didn't have a brochure in English about Quebec City, nor information about a Free daily tour. Excellent location; many restaurants on Rue St. Jean. We were able to walk to Parliament, Upper Town, Lower Town, etc.
every room is different, so cute. we got off a cruise and stayed 2 nights.$14.00 taxi from cruise port. Walked to Old Quebec one day, took red off/0n bus the second day.. 5 choices for breakfast, all full meals. There are 3 floors , no elevator, just to be aware. Not a problem for us. Joe is an amazing host.we went up on the roof for a spectacular view.Taxi to airport is a set price $35.00
This is THE place to stay in Quebec City. Located just a short walk from the walked city on popular St. Jean Avenue, the Chateau des Tourelles staff is eager to welcome, assist and host you during your stay! The choice of FIVE different breakfasts makes you feel like you're staying with family.
Simply amazing
Loved this place. Hotel is easy to find with a short walk to downtown. It is very clean with a delicious breakfast. The staff is so friendly and do whatever it takes to make you feel welcomed. I cannot wait to come back to Quebec and stay here. I travel all the time and this was one of my favorites.
Host was wonderful and so personable. He shared recommendations for sight seeing. He was very gracious and welcoming.
wonderful hosts, great location and delicious made to order breakfast
The location was convenient, the owner was helpful and friendly, the rooms and hotel charming and pretty. The breakfast was amazing. Loved it!
The views were amazing and the Isabelle was just the perfect hostess!
Très belles auberges tres bien situé dans la ville de Québec. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien décorées. Les déjeuners sont excellents avec du vrais sirops d’érables. Isabelle et Simon était tres accueillants. Tres beau séjour!
Visit during heat wave
The hotel was in a good location, a straight walk to old town where the Frontenac Hotel is located. It was pricey, particularly since there was no elevator (had to drag own bags up two flights). Warm and welcoming owners and charming room. I got a room with a queen bed, and my roommate got the entry room with the single bed and deck area. However, it was during a heat wave and the second room attached did not have an air conditioner. So, I had to keep my bedroom door open all the time so my roommate could have some cooler air in her room. My room had the bathroom, which should have had a rubber mat in the shower, which was a bit slippery. The deck was large and the view of the city was great. Breakfast was a selection of 5 items cooked to order, nicely cooked and served in a comfortable room with a number of tables. Staff very helpful. I did have to ask for extra towels, which were delivered promptly. Overall, a good choice if the weather had not been so hot. Free Wi-fi was a bonus.
Great location, very friendly staff. Amazing roof!
Staff v friendly and helpful, excellent breakfasts and good rooftop seating area. Lots of good restaurants in the area.
Rooftop was wonderful with a nice view. Fresh cooked breakfast everyday.
Very unique hotel Joe the owner was so attentive and helpful. The breakfast was amazing! I would recommend this hotel to everyone as it was a very cool experience for us thank you Joe!
Really appreciated the location, easy to walk around. Many great restaurants/shopping in the area. Only one concern was noisy on the street between midnight and 4 am must be clubs/ pubs nearby that people are leaving from . Earplugs take care of that,
Very welcoming and helpful host - Was made to feel quite at home - Charming Auberge in equally charming shopping district - Our suite was spacious, linens were lovely and with several windows and balcony, came with a fantastic view of the city and the Laurentian mountains..... a comfortable walk to many Carnival attractions and to Old Quebec - Scrumptious breakfast choices including freshly roasted coffee and juice and artisan toasts were served in a lovely room with other guests who expressed they were just as delighted as we were. Would definitely recommend and return on another stay to this wonderful historical Canadian city!!
I have stayed at this property several years ago, and returned this trip for five nights. It is fabulous, small and intimate with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Amenities are great, with a small comfortable lounge, a tea making area, and the daily breakfasts have several choices, all of which are delicious and beautifully presented. The neighbourhood is one full of great shops and some of the best little restaurants that I have ever eaten in. It is a short walk from all the things you would want to see in Quebec City and on a bus route if you need to take transit.
Hip space in a great neighbourhood. Excellent caring service. Rooftop space beautiful.
We loved the breakfast that they put on every morning. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. The hotel room for 2 people was definitely for couples because of the see-through bathroom door. The hotel has a very nice rooftop and it is close to lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel dog is adorable. We would definitely stay again!
Hotel very central, very good customer service, spacious room, nice breakfast
Comfortable base in a beautiful city.
Although the main Old City was some blocks away, we found optional walks to and from there, all of which were pleasant and interesting. Good a la carte breakfast options and service.
Nice hotel. Great if you want to cook yourself. 20 min walk to old city.
Amazing place in perfect location.
Nice room in old building equipped smartly and in very modern way with everything needed for comfort of traveler. Very tasty breakfast. Friendly and helpful owner Jo.
Very spacious room . Breakfast is amazing, better than 5 star hotel. Don't forget to check out the rooftop, view is spectacular. Will stay here again when we are in Quebec city.
Extremely Nice and Custom Service !
Impress with the amount of care ! And also the nice and rustic place !
Beautiful City
Great location, excellent staff, and delicious breakfast. What a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful old city. We definitely hope to return.
